Chapter 20:
The nursery room has everything for the arrival of the twins. Recently, Vincentia and Bernard found out that they are having a boy and a girl. Red walls has black lettering over the matching cribs, spelling the names 'Edgar' and 'Emily'. Green and white bedding is inside of the cribs as the stuffed animals of turtledoves sits neatly, waiting for the arrival of the twins. The theme of the green and white continues throughout the room among the red walls and black furniture.
Vincentia sits in the rocking chair, reading a book she has for the twins. It's the morning before she needs to be bedridden at the Elf hospital. Dr. Elf wants to monitor her and the twins before the big day comes.
"My Christmas Angel?" Bernard speaks, coming into the room.
"Yes my Christmas Cheer?" Vincentia asks, looking up from the book.
"Everything's ready for you for the hospital."
"Thank you Bernard," she smiles to him.
"You're welcome Vincentia," he smiles back.
The male head elf drops down to his knees next to the female head elf. His hand rubs the large stomach to feel his twins kicking. Each kick makes him more excited for the birth while his wife is a little nervous about it.
"I love you two so much," he whispers, hugging them gently.
"Will you be okay with watching Elektra while I'm in the hospital?"
"Of course I will," he says, looking up to her, "Besides Edgar and Jack should be back before the birth."
Edgar and Jack Frost are going to Earth to get Edgar's son James here. Since he's elf/human hybrid, teleporting is not easy. Vincentia has some control of hers, but not nearly as bad as James does.
"That's true."
"Ready to go?"
"Yes."
She places the book and get up from the rocking chair. Bernard takes the stuff she needs for the hospital. Dr. Elf immediately takes her to a room and begins to monitor her. The happy couple kisses each other goodbye before separating.
"Vincentia?"
"Yes Dr. Elf?"
"The reason why I need you here at the hospital is because your pregnancy is considered a high risk pregnancy. Even though you are having twins, you're older the average elf to get pregnant."
"Right."
"There's also a possibility to have you give birth early or later. Since you are close to nine months now, I need to make the decision for how the twins are doing."
"Okay Dr. Elf," she smiles.
Edgar and Jack Frost has finally arrived to the North Pole. James is amazed to see his roots in front of him.
"Wow," the mini Edgar, looking like 15 years old, says.
"Welcome home son," Edgar says with a smile.
"Well, shall we go get a tour before meeting Vincentia at the hospital," Jack Frost suggested.
The cafe/bakery is the first stop. Abby's cleaning from a project when she hears the door opening. She looks up to greet them, but then stopped when her dark eyes meet the black as night eyes of James. They stay like this for while. Both Edgar and Jack noticed this and smiled to each other.
"Abby," Edgar speaks, "this is my son James. James this my assistant Abby."
"H-Hi," Abby finally speaks.
"Hello," James says.
"What do you like to have?"
James looks around to see what he would like to see. "Some hot chocolate and some frosted cookies."
"C-Coming right up."
She makes the hot chocolate and pour it into a cup. Three frosted cookies are placed in a paper bag.
"I'll pay for it," Jack says, stepping in.
"It will be 200 pieces of silver."
He pays.
"Thank you," James then smiles to Abby.
"You're welcome," she smiles back small with a blush.
Along the way to the workshop, both Bernard and Elektra runs past their family towards the Elf Hospital.
"What's going on Bernard?" Edgar asked, confused.
"Dr. Elf just called us and Vincentia is having the twins now!" Bernard answered, quickly heading towards his destination.
"Come on James," Jack Frost says to him, "let's go meet your older sister and niece and nephew."
James agreed and run with the family.
Vincentia is giving birth to the twins naturally. She pushes out their son before their daughter. Bernard's hand was nearly broken of the amount of squeeze that Vincentia was giving him. He has a feeling of how painful it is based on the action on his hand.
"You did good," Bernard whispers to his exhausted wife.
She chuckles, "thanks."
Their lips touch in a kiss.
"Mommy?" Elektra says as she comes in with the rest of their family.
"Yes little one," she smiles, bringing her closer..
"Vincentia," Jack Frost speaks up, "this is your little brother James."
"Hey Big Sister," James smiles to her.
"Hey Little Brother."
Soon, the twins has arrived clean and wrapped in their respectful colors. Girl has red and boy has green. Both Bernard and Vincentia requests it.
"Hello little brother and sister," Elektra smiles to her new siblings.
Both are in their mommy's arms, watching back to her smiling face.
"What are their names?" Edgar asked curiously.
"Edgar and Emily," Bernard answers with a smile.
Edgar couldn't be happier to hear that. In fact, everyone is happy to see the newest addictions.
*Years Later*
"And that's how you two were born," Vincentia, now almost 2300 years old, smiles down to her 500 years old twins.
"Wow mommy," Emily says with a smile.
"That really happened?" Edgar asks.
"Of course it did children," Bernard answers with a smile.
"Now children," Vincentia speaks, giving them their lunches, "it's time to go to Elf school now."
"Okay," the twins said.
Edgar gets his green bookbag as Emily gets her red one. Dark as the night hair fall down to their shoulders as their different colored eyes sparkle. Emily's brown eyes are just like her Daddy's as Edgar's green eyes matches his mommy's. They both share a passion for school while they dream big for the head elves positions like their parents.
"What jobs do you think they will love the most before going to head elves?" the former female head elf asks her wonderful husband, secretly.
"I believe Edgar will do good in the main kitchen as Emily will be good in stuffed animals," the former male head elf secretly answers back.
"Say hi to Victoria for us!" Vincentia calls out to them.
"We will Mommy!" Emily calls back, running in the everyday snow in her long sleeved black dress.
"Don't mention her mommy!" Edgar complains back, running along with his sister with his black long sleeved shirt and jeans.
This makes the former head elves chuckle a little. They are fully aware of their son's obvious crush on their godmother's daughter. Judy and Robert knows about this and they fully support it.
"Shall we head to the workshop to see how everyone's doing?" Bernard asks his wife with a smile.
"Sure," she smiles back.
"But first this."
He picks her up bridal style and send her back to their room.
Later, Elektra is finishing up some things for her boss. Carol's already at the school, teaching her students. There's a Council Meeting today so she's teaming up with Curtis and his new girlfriend Rebecca to make sure everything good.
"Everything in the kitchen is ready," Rebecca reports to Elektra.
"Thank you Rebecca," she smiles back to the pretty long haired brunette, placing Buddy down for his nap.
"You're welcome Elektra. Where's Santa and Mrs. Claus?"
"Santa's finishing up in the workshop before greeting them while Mrs. Claus is teaching at the Elf School."
"I see."
In fact, Santa's looking through the toys that the elves are making. Every detail is key for each child around the world.
"Uhh Santa?" the new head elf Curtis speaks to him from a balcony.
"Yea Curtis?" he asked from below.
"Everything's ready for their arrival and they will be here soon."
"Alright thank you Curtis."
Curtis has become more mature now that he's head elf. Occasionally, he will annoy Bernard, but now as much as before. Even his clothing is more like Bernard's. Another reason it annoys the former head elf.
Soon Mother Nature, Father Time, Cupid, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, and Sandman has come to the North Pole. Jack Frost and Edgar joins in as well. Just like the last one, it's in the main kitchen. This one is more on the lines of how things are in their areas and how things need to be improve.
"So how are things with Carol and her teaching?" Mother Nature asks, taking a sip of her hot chocolate.
"Oh she loves her job," Santa smiles, "currently she's teaching Victoria, Little Edgar, and Emily now."
"That's good," she smiles.
"I report that James and Abby will returning from their honeymoon within one week," Edgar speaks.
"Do you think that they will be the next ones for a baby?" Cupid asked.
"We are going to wait and see."
"Wait and see for what?" Bernard asked, appearing before them with Vincentia.
"Bernard! Vincentia!" Easter Bunny exclaims, hopping towards them, mostly Vincentia. "How are you two?" he asked, hugging the former female head elf.
"We're doing good," she hugs back.
"We are talking about if Abby and James are going to be next new parents," Father Time answers Bernard's question.
Judy and Robert visits their daughter's godparents at the workshop. They had a small reunion as they check out the new elves working.
"Judy! Robert! Big Sister!" Curtis exclaims with a huge smile, coming over to them. "And Bernard," he smirks to him.
Bernard rolls his eyes, "Curtis."
"How are everything here?" Robert asked.
"Everything's going amazing!"
Throughout the day at being the workshop, Vincentia notices that Bernard wants to leave because of two reasons, Curtis and it's time to get Little Edgar and Emily from school. Elektra leaves her work early for today so she can pick her siblings, who she loves to bunches.
"Wait up Elektra!" Vincentia giggles at her daughter running.
"Come on Mommy Daddy!" Elektra giggles at her lacking parents.
"Oh come on Elektra!" Bernard laughs as well.
Carol is still teaching the class about the history of Christmas when they arrived. So the small family waits for the bell to ring. The ring does ring, letting all of the elf students out for the day. Victoria is like a mini Judy so it's crazy for Vincentia to see her best friend in her daughter. Little Edgar comes out talking with her for a little bit before meeting up with his twin.
"Hey guys," Elektra smiles to them.
"Hey!" Emily smiles back to her big sister.
"How was school?" Bernard asks, smiling.
"It was great!" the twins smiles.
"We got our report cards!" Emily says, excitedly.
The parents see both of them and they always see A+'s at each subject.
"Shall we celebrate tonight?" Vincentia asked, very proud of them.
"Yes!"
Each time that they bring home report cards with all A+'s, they will make homemade pizza from scratch. Also Vincentia will make ice cream floats of their favorite flavors.
Elektra helps out with putting Little Edgar and Emily to bed before going to sleep as well. Vincentia kisses each child a good night and wish them the most sweetest dreams. She finds her husband sitting in front of the fireplace in his pajamas just like her.
"They're asleep?" he asks, noticing her.
"Yea," she smiles, sitting down next to him, "it's been a big day for everyone."
"Yes indeed. Vincentia?"
"Yes Bernard?"
"Do you remember when we first met?"
"Of course, it was my first Christmas at the school."
"What about the three items I wrote down?"
"Hot chocolate, the color red, and sugar cookies."
"That's not all I wanted," he admits.
"What do you mean?" she asked confused.
His dark eyes look at her green eyes as he moves closer to her, "before we met face to face officially, I fell in love with you the moment you were introduced to the class by Mrs. Elf."
"Really Bernard?" Vincentia asks, surprised.
"I've been in love with you since that moment."
"I've been in love with you since that moment I first saw you too."
Both Bernard and Vincentia moves closer to each other as they kiss. He moves his right hand to hold his wife on her bicep as his left hand moves to lace with her hand.
