Chapter20_The Mask Of Anna
"Who the hell are you?"
Blair tried to speak but Rebekah's hand was tighter than she could handle and apparently Rebekah figured that out too as she let go of her suddenly and Blair found herself hitting the hard ground.
She let out a loud groan and coughed a couple of times until she had her breath back. Rebekah was standing still; waiting for her to speak up. Blair stood up and tried to choose her words carefully.
"I'm not Anna... My name's Blair… I'm Anna's doppelganger..."
Rebekah looked at her; almost out of breath; not believing a word she had just heard. Blair took a couple of steps closer to her and tried to touch her shoulder but found herself on the ground one more time.
"How could this happen? How could she have a doppelganger? How?" Rebekah shouted out loud; confused and angry. She didn't know how to react to the news she had just heard from her supposedly best friend.
Blair got up once again and answered: "I'll explain it all to you later but now we have to get back." She reached out for Rebekah again but she slapped her hand away.
"Rebekah, please, you have to trust me…" Blair tried to calm her down but Rebekah interrupted her: "Trust you? You pathetic liar who's been working with my uncle on a plan to kill us all? Are you out of your fucking mind?"
She tried to grab Blair but she flashed behind her and shouted: "Bekah, it's not what you think. I'm trying to help you. I don't want you dead…"
Rebekah shouted: "Shut up!" She reached Blair and snapped her neck and let her fall on the ground for the third time that day. She muttered: "Nobody harms my family…"

Elijah stepped out of the car and went into the bar. Daniella had spotted the black SUV and Elijah knew he found them. She was waiting for Elijah to come back and hopefully give her a number or something. She giggled at her silliness but there was something mysteriously attractive about that guy.
All of a sudden she saw a flash of blond hair behind the bar and focused her eyes to see more but she didn't see a thing. She shook her head thinking she must have hallucinated and she was about to get out of the car to stretch herself that she saw it.
A blonde threw a brunette on the ground right in front of her eyes and jumped on her but in a second the brunette was behind her and the blonde was on the ground. She jumped right back up and tried to grab the brunette but she disappeared… and reappeared somewhere else…
What the hell?

"Rebekah, what the hell are you doing?" She heard Elijah shout from behind and turned around to face him. The girl from the bar was standing behind him looking terribly frightened. Blair used the opportunity to free herself from Rebekah's grasp and flash behind Elijah.
Rebekah went to grab her but he stepped in front of her, blocking her way. Rebekah gritted her teeth and went to attack Blair again but Elijah did the only thing he could to stop her; he snapped her neck and she fell in his arms.
"What the hell is going on Elijah?" Daniella shouted scared and before Elijah could speak she backed away and ran to her car. Kol appeared in front of her and she screamed with all her power. Elijah warned: "Kol…"
Kol threw his hands in the air and compelled her: "Don't be afraid. Just stay in your car until Elijah comes and gets you." She nodded and made her way quietly to her car.
With a minute spent on Daniella, Blair prepared herself for the conversation ahead of her. Kol and Elijah looked at her as Elijah held on to his unconscious sister. Blair swallowed hard and started: "It was nothing really, it was just a misunderstanding…"
Kol interrupted: "Was it about the guy in the bar?" Elijah looked at her almost accusingly and she answered fast: "No, I mean, yes. You know what, why don't you leave us alone and we could talk freely?"
"Talk freely? She was about to rip your heart out… What the hell happened here Anna?" Elijah asked not so patiently. Blair was about to say something that they all heard the loud noise of a car stopping in front of the bar.
Blair knew exactly who that was and he couldn't be a worse addition to the situation…
"What in the God's name's going on here?"

"Nik, I can explain…" She muttered slowly as she counted her steps backwards until her back hit the hard wall of their bedroom. Klaus was standing in the doorway; simply watching her until he laughed out loud: "Looking frightened certainly isn't your thing!"
Anna laughed along with him and flashed in front of him locking her arms around his neck and pulling his head down until his lips were just an inch away from hers. He didn't kiss her though; he just looked at her lips; licking his own.
He whispered: "You're not forgiven yet…" And she pulled back abruptly; pouting like a little child. "You were the one leaving me all alone in the first place, you needed to be punished a little and you know it!"
"There are other ways for you to punish me, sweetheart… Let's not forget that bloody weekend in Venice…" Klaus said smugly with a little smirk on his lips.
Anna nodded shyly although she had no idea what he was talking about. Before she could open her mouth, the door got opened and Rebekah appeared in front of them looking anything but happy. "Anna, we need to talk." She announced coldly and Anna nodded simply.
Klaus snapped: "Bekah, we're having a discussion of our own so if you'll excuse us…" Anna interrupted him: "Sorry Nik, but I think I'll go with Bekah. We can talk later." Before Klaus could comment on that, the girls were out of the door.
What just happened?

"What in the God's name's going on here?"
They all turned their heads around to a very shocked Klaus but stayed quiet. Elijah was the first one to speak up: "Nothing really, it was just a misunderstanding between Bekah and Anna. Nothing really."
Klaus raised his eyebrows and walked closer to the scene; closer to Anna. He was frowning but she just gave him a weak smile. He finally said: "Look who I found…"
Anna answered: "Nik, you didn't have to rush all the way to here. I would come back, you know. Mikael's dead and gone!"
Klaus narrowed his eyes; obviously not enjoying her answer. She didn't know what to say anymore; she acted out on a rush of adrenaline. She wasn't supposed to make him upset, mad or angry. She had to keep him satisfied, that was the order; Mick's order.
She walked past him as he tried to grab her and objected: "After everything that happened last night, you just disappeared. What was I supposed to do? Wait until you decide to show up?"
Kol rolled his eyes at his brother and best friend having a relationship talk and turned his head to Elijah and said: "Hey, how about that girl? I can hold Bekah, you go and get some!"
Elijah shot him a deadly glare but without a word he hugged Bekah tighter and put her in Kol's arms and went to talk to Daniella and probably erase everything from her mind.
Klaus hissed: "Were you really upset about that? That was nothing; I just had to meet someone early. I don't know why you're making this a big deal when it's obviously not."
Anna whined: "Let's just go, alright? You ruined the fun anyways."
Klaus stared in confusion as she walked to his car and got in; waiting for the group to join her. He finally looked at Kol and raised his eyebrows; waiting for him to explain what exactly happened.
He lied: "Oh come on brother! We just wanted to have some fun, nothing happened. Now can you hold Bekah? I think she's gained quite some weight."
Klaus chuckled softly and said: "You know that if she was awake, you were probably dead by now?" Kol nodded knowingly and put her on Klaus's shoulder.

"How could we be fooled? I should've figured it out, Nik should've…" Rebekah mumbled confused after two hours of arguing with Blair in the woods. She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that Blair was Anna's doppelganger.
"Bekah, you have to understand if any of this gets out I'm dead." Blair whispered desperately; hoping her pleas would work. Rebekah shot her a deadly glare: "You think I care?"
Blair finally lost it and shouted: "You must care! I'm trying to stop your psycho uncle from killing all of you. Only I can do this and you know it." "How do I know you're not really working for him? I'm sorry for feeling a little paranoid but you see I have a point."
Blair softened her eyes and got closer to her supposedly best friend: "Bekah, I don't want any of you dead. If I wanted that, you'd all be dead by now…"
The sentence triggered something inside Rebekah: "Oh really? Since when did we become so pathetic? You think you can just get away with this?" Blair puffed: "Rebekah, try to be more understanding. I'm here to help; I'm not your enemy."
"So after all this we can get Anna back?" Rebekah asked finally remembering her real best friend. Blair looked away and took a couple of steps back; she didn't know how she would react: "I'm so sorry but Anna's not coming back. She's dead."

Anna opened the door in a rush and hurried to her closet. She grabbed a suitcase and threw it on the bed and then went to grab some shirts and jeans. She threw them also on the bed and went to grab some necessities that the door got opened and Klaus marched in.
"Going somewhere, love?"
She turned around and faced the very confused yet angry looking Klaus. She puffed and said: "Seems like I can't surprise you! I was planning for a weekend away for us, just the two of us, but you caught me!"
Klaus eyed her suspiciously but after a minute a smirk appeared on his face and he said: "Just the two of us? I like that! But I don't think we can leave in the middle of my uncle's plan to kill us all, love."
Anna pouted and walked to him, batting her eyelashes and asking: "Nik, please. I really need this. I miss all the time we used to spend with each other. It's just a weekend. Don't say no."
Klaus finally threw his hands in the air and agreed: "Alright! Stop pouting now. One condition though, I get to pick where we fly off to." Anna jumped on him, holding on to his neck and kissed him passionately on the lips.
Klaus let out a muffled moan and started walking towards the bed and then threw her on the pile of her clothes. She giggled and grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him closer.
He was about to kiss her again that his phone started ringing and he went to answer it. She heard Elijah's voice saying: "Niklaus, do you have any idea where Rebekah is?" Klaus turned around and looked at Anna for an answer but she shrugged.
"No, is something wrong?" Klaus asked and Elijah answered: "I don't know. Her cellphone is turned off but it's probably nothing. I'll see you later."
Klaus hung up and sat down on the bed next to Anna and asked: "Are these the clothes you wanted to bring for our trip?" Anna giggled quietly and answered: "Don't worry. I have another suitcase that will make you happy."
He stood up again and said while leaving: "I'll take care of everything, you just pack, pack for me too love. I'll see you at supper."
After Klaus left she jumped up and grabbed her phone calling Rebekah. Elijah was right, her cellphone was off. She threw the Blackberry on the bed and ran her hands in her hair; trying to think clearly. She remembered Rebekah's reaction to Anna's death.
"What? No! No! No! NO!"
"Bekah, I'm so sorry…"
Anna thanked god Rebekah didn't ask about how Anna was killed; she couldn't be able to lie to her then. If only Rebekah kept quiet for a while, everything would go perfectly.
"Get out of here, at least for a couple of days. I need to clear my mind. If I see you around, I might kill you."
She wanted to take Rebekah's advice and leave for the weekend that Klaus arrived. She knew leaving Mystic Falls with him, spending time alone with him, being with him all the time was not such a good idea but she had no other choice.
She needed some help but who could help her?
She jumped remembering one person who would come up with great solutions each time. She picked up her phone and called her. Her sharp voice answered: "Oh hello B, long time no talk. Is everything fine with you and your dear husband?!"
"Hey Kat, I need your help. You need to come to Mystic Falls, now."
I'm sorry if this chapter wasn't the best of the best, but after some serious writer's block, this was the most I could get out of my mind!
Next chapter probably will be all about Nik and Blair's trip, lots of flashback, mostly about the real Anna and her last days. (I know some of you wanted the real Anna to be alive, but sorry, she was dead to me the first time the plot came to my mind.)
