CHAPTER 20
Sorry for taking so long to update :)It has being a month since team one was put on probation by Dr. Toth. Everyday that when by they did their job and still remind the number one team in the city. But with each passing day, Sam and Jules grew more reckless. They knew were lying to the team and they were also scare that any minute they would blow everything up and disappoint everyone down. Today was really interesting because team one had to deal with a couple that when missing. They were recently married and decide to go to Toronto for they honeymoon. It took team one about 4 hours to figure out what happen and get them home safe. At the end of the call and team one was walking back to headquarters, Jules decide to ask Sam a question.
"Sam, where are you going to take me for our honeymoon?"
"Where ever you want."
"Just promise me its no daiquiris on the beach."
"Extreme hiking, remote trails, no outhouses."
"Nice. I like it." Jules said while walking inside the building. Once they reach the building, they started to take their headset off and they gear.
"But that all depend of when you want to get married." Sam said after he removed his gear.
"What you mean?" Jules asked confuse.
"I mean, we can't do all that while you pregnant or after we have the baby." Sam said and notices how Jules frown but then she got happy.
"You right, I forgot for a second." Jules said and felt like crying.
"Jules don't cry, I promise I would give you the best honeymoon."
"It is not about that, I forgot I was pregnant." Jules said and when into her locker room. Sam wanted to follow but the guys were behind him. He sighs and continues to his own locker.
It was three hours later when Sam arrived to Jules house. They have a routine everyday and every night after dark he would go to her house after parking his car a few blocks away. When he arrived she was curled up in the couch. She had tears in her eyes and all he wanted to do was hugged her and never let her go. He felt bad because he putting herthrough that, but he also knows that this is nothing compared to the amazing gift they would have in about 7 months.
"Jules honey, I am so sorry."
"Don't be, it my fault."
"It is not, sometimes I forget. I think all this happiness is a dream, but then I look at you and dream or not, I am the happiest guy in the world."
"I know what you mean. I was in my own world thinking about you and the wedding." Jules said and started sobbing again.
"Jules, I love you, and trust me, this doesn't make you a bad mother, and you would be amazing. It happens to the best of us."
"I am scare, Sam."
"I know baby, me too. But guess what, this kid would have the best parents and uncles in this world so I know everything would be alright." Sam said and kisses her head.
"I know, I guess is the hormones. You are in for the roller coaters of your life."
"And there is nowhere in the world I rather be." Sam said and with that kisses her passionately.
"Sam we need to tell the team." Jules said.
"I know Jules, but I want you to feel comfortable, is your decision." Sam said.
"The thing is that we still on probation."
"Yes we are, but probation or not, I don't want you risking your life like that." Sam said and Jules glared at him.
"So now you are going to tell me what to do. You know I could stay all the way to the end."
"Yes, but that doesn't mean, you will stay in the field." Sam snaps.
"I will tell them when I am ready." Jules snap back.
"No it being a month of that. We tell them tomorrow." Sam snaps again.
"No, it my body and I tell them when I want to."
"It mines too, and the baby and I said we tell them tomorrow." Sam said and Jules glared at him and then started laughing.
"What?" Sam snaps.
"You body too." Jules said through her laughs.
"Yes, your body is mine, every inch, and no one else." Sam said and his eye got darker and walk toward her and the cup her face and kiss her senseless. It was so good, that they forgot why they were fighting and just went upstairs and made love.
It has being another two weeks and Sam and Jules haven't told anyone that they having a baby. Jules had convincing him that they should not tell anyone before she was three months pregnant because anything could happen. And she was afraid that any day she was going to wake up from this dream. She did take into consideration his worries and putting herself in danger, but she also did her job and she was really good at it.
Everyone had notice that Sam and Jules are closer than ever and even through the probation, they being good at making sure they did they job. But lately they notice how Jan 15, 2013protective they both are of each other. Sam seems to want shield Jules out of everything, especially when they are on the field, and Jules let him, until certain extend. It had not jeopardized they work and everyone in team one doubt it would risk they job, but they being curious to the changes, especially Greg, Ed and Wordy. They know that they are together and they being trying to figure out how they were both going to stay in the team, but they also knew something was happening. In the other side Spike, Lewis and Winnie figure they were acting like that because they were engaged but they never imagine that is because she pregnant. They would have notice if they would hang out more often, but lately everyone being busy and they just had enough time for they boyfriend or girlfriend.
It was a Wednesday afternoon, and team one was changing in they locker room, except Jules. She had the day off. When team one finish changing they went to the briefing room, where they were shock to find Dr. Toth.
"Hello team one." Dr. Toth said and everyone tense.
"Dr. Toth how can we help you?" Greg asked.
"Can I speak to you in private?" He asked and that just made them feel worst. Sam had a bad feeling that something was going to happen.
"Sure." Greg said and looks at his team who nods at him and back out the room, while Ed close the door. The team went to Winnie desk and watches the door. Hoping that they could grow super hearing and listen to what is happening.
Jules was happy she had a day off, they being working straight for over a week, and morning sickness and the job was killing her. She was exhausted and she wanted to do was relax and feel like she still had a life. That is why, when Natalie, Sara and Christian call her to pass by and grab lunch with them she agrees. It was noon and Jules was walking into the building when she had a terrible feeling. She was worried about Sam for some reason and it was so bad she was going to turn around and stop at the SRU first. But then she decides that she was going to call Winnie, plus she passes it as her hormone being over protective. She arrived at Natalie office and her secretary led her in.
"Hi sister in law, you look beautiful, you have a glow to you, what are you doing, to look so nice." Natalie said and when to hug Jules while she blush.
"Hi to you too, and you look amazing as always." Jules said.
"She is right, you are glowing." Christian said and also got up to give her a hug, follow by Sara.
"Thank you guys, I am just…" Jules straight off embarrass.
"It must be love." Natalie said and they all laugh.
"It must be." Jules said and then sat down in the couch next to them. After a little chat, Natalie secretary let her know that the food arrived and it was in the break room. She motion for them to follow her.
"Ladies I would be right back, I need to grab something first." Christian said.
Jan 15, 2013"Alright, baby, don't take to long." Sara said and kisses him on the lips. Natalie and Jules smile and then they continue walking. They arrived to the big break room with class doors. While they were setting up, someone came behind them and shot fired to the roof.
They turn around startled and notice that someone had a gun pointing at them.
"Don't you dare move, or I would kill of you."
"Winnie do you know why he is here?" Ed asked.
"No he just asked to pull a file from the other day from you guys." Winnie said and looks how nervous they were. Anyone job was at risk and she was scare that this would separated all of them.
"Which one?" Wordy asked.
"The one with the honeymoon couple." Winnie said and Sam winces.
"We did well on the job." Lewis said and then notice that everyone was staring at Sam.
"What happen?"
"I am not sure, but I think this had to do with Jules and me." Sam said and lowered his head in embarrassment.
"Sam talks to me." Ed said and as mad at his was, he could see the pain and hurt in Sam eyes, and he didn't want his teammate to feel like that.
"When we were coming back to the barn, Jules asked me where I am taking her to her honeymoon." Sam said and watches how Ed and Wordy were surprise.
"Honeymoon." Ed said more to himself than the others.
"You guys are engage." Wordy said.
"Yes, and we are sorry, and I am sorry, I take full responsibility, I know we not suppose to be together, but I can't live without her, please don't be mad at her. It is my entire fault." Sam said on the verge of crying.
"We also knew." Spike said.
"Yes so we take responsibility too." Lewis said.
"They have being good, and doing they job." Winnie said also trying to help them out.
"We know that, we know you guys being together, for weeks now. We just had to wait and see what Dr. Toth said now." Ed said and sighs.
"You guys knew." Sam said.
"Always, we had always known since the beginning. We just didn't know that you guys were engaged." Ed said.
"Oh." They all said in unison.
"Is that all Sam? No more secrets, I have really seeing the difference between you guys, but now you need to be honest with me, is there more or that it?" Ed asked and Sam could only stare.
"What is it?" Wordy said and when Sam was about to answer, the alarm ran and Winnie informed them of a hot call.
"Saved by the bell Samo, but when this is over we are all sitting down to talk." Ed said running along Sam to get his gear.
Inside the conference room, Greg was a little nervous about what wanted to talk to him about. He had a feeling that it was not good news, but from experience he knew not to assume.
"So how can I help you?" Greg asked.
"Well two weeks ago, Constable Callaghan and Braddock had a conversation at the end of a hot call." He said and pointed to the scream where Sam and Jules conversation was displayed. Greg read it and winces internally. He was mad, but also happy because he realizes that they were engaged.
"So what happen now?"
"They need to switch teams, I warned you that they can't be together and now they even engaged." Dr. Toth said.
"They can't leave, they are good and professional, and they haven't done anything to jeopardize the calls." Greg said.
"And what about priority of life, would they follow the rules, which they clearly don't."
"We can't say what they would do, until we get to a situation like that. I trust them and the team trusts them. We should be looking for a way, were they could be together and also do they job."
"No this is not for discussion, they both out the team." Dr. Toth snap and Greg was about to said something when they heard Winnie announcing hot call. Greg picks up the line to talk to Winnie and Dr. Toth motion for it to put in on speaker.
"Winnie, what is the situation?"
"Woman is holding some hostage at gun point, in a building downtown." Winnie said but her voice crack at the end.
"Winnie what are you not telling me?" Greg asked.
"The building, actually office where the woman with the gun is located, is Sam Braddock sister, and Spike girlfriend." Winnie said and Greg tense.
"Alright I am coming." Greg said and got up.
"Me too." Dr. Toth said and they both rush to catch with team one. When team one was on they way, Sam and Ed were together, Spike and Lewis in another car and Greg, Wordy and Dr. Toth were in another one. The rest of the team didn't have the complete information until Winnie gave them the address.
"Wait Winnie is you right about that?" Spike asked.
"Yes."
"That where my sister work." Sam said through his headset.
"It actually Natalie and some of her co worker being held at gunpoint by some lady." Winnie said and Spike and Sam curse.
"Guys are you going to be able to do the job, or would I have to call team two?" Greg asked.
"We fined boss." They said in unison but everyone could hear how scare and desperate they were. Jan 15, 2013"Um boss, Jules is there too." Sam said and sighs, this is bad; he was just hoping that they were all alright, because he can't lose his sister, fiancé and baby in the same day. Then Winnie interrupted them.
"We got shot fired; a witness said that the woman shot two hostages." Winnie said.
"You got the names?" Ed asked.
"One is name Sara." Winnie said and they all sigh.
"And the next?" Wordy asked.
"Um, it Jules, one of them got shot to the stomach and the other one is to the arm. Don't know which one." Winnie said and everyone hear how shaky her voice was. Team one was frozen, Jules was shot, they teammate and life of the team got shot again and they were not there to protect her.
"Sam are you alright?" Ed asked.
"Yes sir." Sam said and for a second Ed glance at Sam and frown, he went cold.
"Do we know who is doing this?" Spike snap.
"I got Christian on the line, he work there; he said is Jennifer, Sam Braddock ex." Winnie said and everyone wince except for Sam. He was gone. All he was thinking is that he needs to do his job and save his family.
