It didn't seem like much anyone ever used the front gate to enter the floating castle. Most everyone had magic to disappear and reappear, besides, not many left the castle at all. A flock of four owls came gliding towards the doors. Yetis stood on either side of the doors, well armored and stocked with weapons. These giant creatures weren't the only things protecting the inhabitants of the Sky Kingdom. Circling the outer edges and walls were mighty Griffins with vast wings like an eagle and a roar as deafening as a lion's. Perched on the ledges along the stone wall were beasts made of rock, gargoyles. These creature were suited as the first line of defense, what they lacked for in magic they made up for in brute strength.
The Yetis moved to the side and the marble doors opened. The owls soared past and instantly the doors were shut once again. Inside torches lit up the walls and owls flew high above them near the ceiling, most of them were carrying scrolls. Their shadows cascaded over them like black waves. Across the room were two owls standing, awaiting for Milori's arrival. "Tobias, let the nurses know he has arrived, we might have to sedate him," Altaria ordered.
Gossamer flew ahead of the others, "Is my troop ready?'
"Yes, everything is in effect now, don't mess this up," Altaria stated.
"Yes, your majesty." Then the owl leaped into the air and flew down a nearby corridor.
Milori and the others landed in front of the owl queen. "What is the meaning of this? Kidnapping!"
"They were merely sending my message, I will admit they are a little unorthodox."
"A little," he grumbled.
"I think it would be best to continue this in the greenhouse." Milori let out another groan and they were back in the air once more. "Besides, she allowed them to take her. The mark is very simple, the wearer shan't be hurt nor touched by the other's family, unless allowed. The one whom had placed it does not apply." The owls landed on tables.
"Why create the mark if it only prevents those only of blood relation?' Clarion asked.
"You, like most simple beings, used to bow down at our feet. We were considered gods of war and destruction. Concurring all the worlds and defeating any champion or warrior sent, death rained down upon every kingdom that came in the way of victory. Never were there prisoners of war, their surrenders would make us laugh and then they would be slain before their people," the entire thought of this put Clarion on edge, "But that was long ago, before our mother came into the picture. King Syridus vowed to keep his feathers forever clean or he would rot in hell for eternity. Though not everyone chose the same. War broke out within the castle itself. It was brother vs. sister, council vs. owls. Death came upon the king and our mother and father never returned from battle. They had said we were too young, so here we are today."
"I'm sorry I asked."
"So as I said, there exceptions to this special magic."
Something suddenly wrapped around Clarion's waist and pulled her into the air, then Phoebus as well. They both struggled to pull free, but it was impossible. Vines constricted tighter around them, above them a bright pink bud opened up, dripping with purple liquid. Clarion began to cry out in pain as thorns began to stab into her skin. Phoebus began to squirm, but then Altaria spoke, "Dear brother, you should know that fighting it only makes the vines tighten and the poison flow faster. Soon you won't even be able to move at this rate and once you can't fight back that carnivore above you'll swallow you whole."
"Clarion, try to stay as still as possible," Milori called up to her, which she instantly did, but now she was passed out, suspended several feet in the air.
Phoebus however didn't listen and continued to struggle. The plant began to pull the two in closer to it's core. "You can't save them both," Altaria stated.
Milori would never be able to choose. If I save Clarion she would be too depressed to understand why he had saved her, but if he saved Phoebus he would be too angry and blame him for letting her die, thus having none of the owl siblings live happily for once. Only one choice could avoid such a bad output. "I sacrifice myself to save them both."
"No!" Altaria ordered as she tossed the hunk of meat she had been hiding behind her back up at the plant. Instantly the plant let go of it's prey.
Clarion fell onto Milori's back, still passed out. She half opened her eyes, "Milori?"
"Shh, just rest, the paralysis will wear off."
"Congratulations, brother, you found a loophole in my little test."
"I'm starting to think this was more than a test."
"Clever."
"What have you done!"
"It's not what I've done, it's what Gossamer has done."
"You witch, what happened to you! Years ago you ruled with kindness, but now-" Milori paused a moment, "Goliath."
"What?" Phoebus questioned.
"He placed the mark on you didn't he, and you watched him die."
"Because of you!"
"Nefarious killed him!"
"I could have been happy, alone with him. I didn't want to be queen, I just wanted to be happy."
"That's why you wanted to run away."
"After that, I wasn't going to let anyone else suffer!"
"You're a monster!"
Then Milori and Phoebus both left. They were soaring down the corridor at a rapid pace, more so than usual. There was a blowing noise and suddenly Milori caught a needle between his talons. He glared at the nurse who had shot it in his direction. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched as they left. Goliath stared in disbelief and darted down the corridor from which they had came.
News: Legend of the Neverbeast is the last toon studio animated movie in the Tinkerbell franchise, but a live-action movie will be coming out in a couple of years. We can hope that there are characters from this franchise, because I would love a live-action Lord Milori and Queen Clarion, or we can hope for backstory on how Tink met Peter Pan. This live-action version has the working title of Tink.
I know this chapter took a while to post, but it's been a struggle on my part, hope you liked the chapter XD ;D!
