A Tale of Two Cousins
Everyone walked out of Hakuryu, who then transformed into his dragon self. Almost right away the group came across a small inn. The inside was furnished with neutral colors and smelled like coconut. Which Jordan and Hakkai right away found very pleasant.
"Can we stay here? It's so home some!" Jordan clapped her hands together excitedly.
"I have to agree. It is a rather pleasant place." Hakkai said as he adjusted his spectacle and looked around.
"Tch... Do what you want..." Sanzo answered as he gave his card to Hakkai.
"Well then..." Hakkai turned to the innkeeper ready to complete the transaction.
"Ummm… We only have three rooms available." The innkeeper nervously scratched his head as he eyed the number of people in their group; he hated to turn away so many potential customers.
"Awww!" Jordan moaned, she really wanted to stay in the fancy inn.
"Well, how big is each room? Is there an extra bed accommodation we can order for each of them?" Hakkai asked inquisitively.
"Oh yes! Definitely! The rooms are adequate for two people to share quite comfortably!" The inn keeper smiled happily, he was especially pleased. Business had been great today.
"I'm so hungrryy! Lets hurry up and eat!" Goku whined right away.
"Shut up you stupid chimp." Gojyo said irritated.
The innkeeper handed them their room keys.
"You know if you're looking for a restaurant, there's one a few buildings down, and they have excellent clam chowder."
"Clam chowder you say?" Jordan asked with a spark in her eyes.
"Why yes, they are quite known for it actually..." and with those words Jordan snatched Sanzo's credit card from Hakkai and ran out the door leaving the group behind.
A vain popped out on Sanzo's forehead. Hakkai chuckled.
"I guess, Clam chowder it is." Gojyo sighed as he stretched, then left out the door as well.
"Ne, Sanzo, what's clam chowder?" Goku asked in curiosity, he never heard of it before.
"Meeeeew..." Kadence gave a knowing sigh.
When the group finally caught up with Jordan she was seated at a large table that sat five, "Umm excuse me sir, we don't serve pets here, I'm terribly sorry, but our owner and our chef are highly allergic to them." The waitress said, as she pointed at the kitten in Hakkai's arms and the dragon resting on his shoulder.
"That's quite alright ma'am. Hakkai just throw Kadence outside and have Hakuryu fly back to the inn." Jordan smiled, as she was served herself a glass of water from a pitcher that was sitting on the table.
Kadence hissed at her cousin, while Hakuryu glared.
Jordan rolled her eyes at the pussy with attitude and then huffed in annoyance, "Fine. I'll pick you up something... special later." Jordan finished her sentence with an evil gleam in her eye and a smirk that matched.
Kadence looked confused, but wary. The way her cousin said "something special" made her feel uneasy.
"Here Hakuryu, take this so Kade can get inside the room and we'll bring you both back something, okay?"
The two agreed begrudgingly, while Hakkai handed them a room key. They both left toward the Inn. Eventually, after everyone was seated the waitress came to collect their orders. However, unknown to the group the waitress had just realized she was about to serve some of the most handsome men she had ever seen.
"So... fellas what will it be?" She said as she faced her ass towards Jordan trying to exclude her from the group and exposing a little too much cleavage to Gojyo.
"Uh-hum! I'll have the clam chowder please!" Jordan cleared her throat trying to get her attention.
The waitress rolled her eyes, "Uh huh, sure." She said not even writing it on her note pad; Jordan's eye twitched.
"And what would you four handsome young men like?"
"OOOH, I'll have everything on this side of the menu please!" Goku hollered excitedly.
"Um, sure sweety." The waitress said, her eyes widening at the thought of his order, she quickly started scribbling. "And you sir?" She pointed her pen to Hakkai and winked as soon as he made eye contact with her.
"I'll order a number 18 with a side of white rice. Some sake would be nice too miss." Hakkai said never missing a beat, totally dismissing her flirting.
"Will Honjozo-shu be okay?" She asked, reading off the type of Sake they served.
"Yes." Hakkai nodded.
She turned to Sanzo, "and what would you-"
"Rice." He cut her off and then started reading his newspaper. A small vein popped on her head...Don't these bastards know a catch when they see one?!
"Right... and you sir?" The flirty waitress turned to Gojyo.
He smirked, "Well, honey can you recommend anything?"
The waitress smiled, finally one of these punks get it. "Well since you're asking..."She took the menu from Gojyo and stepped a bit closer to him. She was hoping he'd smell the new perfume she just bought. "The number sex is pretty great." She smirked, as she eyed the menu.
"I'm sorry. Could you repeat that again, Hun?" Gojyo was trying to hold in his laughter.
"Haha. Oh. Ooops. I meant to say the number SIX's salmon is pretty tasty; It's really pink and moist in the middle." She winked, as she handed the menu back to him.
Gojyo smirked, "Oh really? I do like my salmon moist and pink." He winked back.
"Ohh goddd. Get a room, before you make me puke." Jordan said grossed out, and pretended to hurl. "Hey you! Did you write down my fucking order?"
The waitress looked at Jordan appalled, "Ugh. Yeah I did."
"Good, then go take our orders to the chef! And hurry it up before I talk to your manager about making guests lose their appetites!"
"Ughh!" The waitress whipped around in annoyance and stalked away to the chef. That girl is so getting a loogie in her food.
"It's about fucking time someone said something." Sanzo grumbled from behind his newspaper.
"Why do you always have to ruin my fun?" Gojyo grumbled.
"Have your fun on your own damn time. We are all waiting and hungry." Jordan rolled her eyes.
Gojyo mimicked her silently. "Please if you were freakin' jealous all you had to do, was say so! You didn't have to be so rude to that poor, hard working, beautiful, innocent woman."
"Jealous? The fuck you talking about? The mere thought of it, would probably give me fucking crabs or something."
Hakkai chuckled at Jordan's statement.
"Hey, Hakkai," Goku whispered, "I never had dinner and a show before."
Hakkai chuckled some more.
The waitress eventually made her way back with the food. She needed the aid of her coworkers to get all of Goku's order on the table. Of course, she served Jordan last. As she made her final leave, she handed Gojyo a piece of paper and whispered a few words into his ear. This of course made him smile in delight.
Jordan made a gagging noise again and when the waitress turned to glare at her, Jordan threw a piece of bread at her face.
"Whoops. It slipped." Jordan made a fake shocked expression and then smiled.
"Ughhhh!" The waitress whipped around again, heading towards the kitchen. Jordan pointed at a chair at a nearby table and pulled it out with her powers just as the waitress entered its vicinity; this made the waitress stumble over it and fall.
"What a clutz; at least she got the food on the table. She might have dropped that too." Jordan commented, as she mixed her soup and began eating. "Damn good food."
Sanzo had to admit. He couldn't have had taken care of the waitress any better.
The waitress stood up and noticed a couple of white teeth on the floor and felt something drip from her mouth. She touched it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she yelled as she ran out of the restaurant.
"So Gojyo... I bet she won't be seeing you anytime soon..." Jordan commented with a smirk before looking at the spoonful she was about to gorge herself on and then she found it... a giant green loogie..."WHAT THE FUCK!?" Jordan screamed and she ran to the bathroom desperately trying to empty the contents of her stomach.
"Heheheheh..." Gojyo chuckled, "Looks like pay back really is a bitch."
Sanzo hid a smirk behind his newspaper; Goku looked at her soup trying to see what happened.
"Eeeeeeeeeewwww gross." he said and then turned back to pigging out on his meal. Hakkai continued to drink his sake, choosing not to get involved.
Within minutes, Hurling sounds could be heard from the bathroom as Jordan continued to be grossed out by what she just ate.
"Does anyone else find it amusing that after pretending to hurl earlier, she really is puking her guts out now?" Gojyo commented after the replacement waiter took back Jordan's food and brought her a new a bowl.
"I heard that, you fucker!" could be heard from the bathroom.
Damn that girl has good hearing Gojyo thought to himself as he hoped he wouldn't get tossed around in the air like Kadence did earlier.
"Hi, I'm the manager here. My sincerest apologies, please try to enjoy the rest of your meal. It's on the house and if there is anything I can do for you..."
"Well now that you mention it," Hakkai started, "when we're finished do you mind bringing us two orders of the number six to go please?"
"Of course!"
"Oh yeah, and about that chick in the bathroom, why don't you have someone check on her too." Gojyo added
"Right away sir"
"Ugh… that won't be necessary... I'm right here." Jordan grumbled as she slumped back into her chair. Her face was slightly green and plastered with a queasy expression.
"Can we get you anything miss?"
"Yes!" Jordan was angry now, "I want that ugly slut fired!"
"Pheewww and she'll also take a glass of water and a breath mint please..." Gojyo said while pinching his nose trying to escape the smell of Jordan's puke breath.
Jordan glared at him.
"And this too please" she says handing the manager a piece of paper with some writing on it. The man looks at the paper, raises an eyebrow. He doesn't question it, but nods in agreement and leaves their table. As soon as the manager turned around to take care of their orders, she put her hand up at an angle and slammed it against the table; Gojyo's head slamming with it.
"Why you!" Gojyo pulled his head up from the table holding his nose, his forehead now matching the color of his hair.
"So Jordan..." Hakkai interrupted quickly, "Do you think you could tell us more about Neo. It's better if we know as much about our enemy as possible, especially if we are going to have to protect Kadence and fight him at the same time."
Jordan nodded seriously, pushing away her new bowl of clam chowder. "Well Neo was that kind of guy who can have any girl he wants. I guess when he finally came across a girl that didn't want him, it drove him… Well kind of crazy. At first, it started off being "sorta" sweet. After her first couple rejections, he serenaded her at her window a couple of times with flowers and a band, you know, the works… the next thing we know, clothes are going missing, her gym clothes, underwear, shirts and some pictures. He broke in countless times when nobody was home, but we couldn't prove anything. One time, he left a note on her pillow that was an invite out with him; with clothes she should wear on their date right next to it. Of course, everything was in her size. Later her cat went missing, we are pretty sure he did something with it. Another time, he snuck into her room at night, and she woke up in the morning with him lying next to her. He even changed majors at school in hopes of getting the same classes as her. That's not even close to the end of it. She became his obsession. His belongings are covered with pictures of Kadence. Every time the police checked his home, he comes off clean. His escapades were just getting worse over time… the biggest and last incident… was the most traumatizing for her…" Jordan clenched the table cloth in anger, "That bastard broke into our home while I was out, he tried to..., well anyways I got home in time, so I was able to ward him off. It's only been about two months of peace, we had to move because of that bastard, tighten our security to the extreme and now I escort her most places. He hates me, I practically killed him the last time, I'm the obstacle in his way… and as far as I'm concerned it'll stay that way; but since then, she hasn't really been the same, she's more withdrawn, she has been dealing with a growing paranoia for eight months now, not that I blame her. She even started developing a small fear of men." Jordan chuckled darkly. "Though thanks to you guys, it seems she's slowly letting go of that last one." She looked at her companions; everyone grew very quiet; deep in thought.
"Hey, guys… what say we head back the room now, I'm sure Kade and Hakuryu are starving by now!" Goku says with a smile on his face that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Excuse me miss, we acquired what you asked for earlier, also we brought along the breath mints and your food to-go." Gojyo chuckled at the mention of the breath mints, but Jordan ignored it as the replacement waiter for the slut from earlier handed her a small white bag. The familiar glint of mischief appeared in Jordan's eyes again. Hopefully this will help her relax; even it's just for a little while.
"Hey Jordan what did you get?!" Goku asked in curiosity.
"All in due time, Goku." The group left the table, feeling the silent nagging need to hurry back to their rooms.
As the group entered the inn, they noticed it was strangely quiet and no one seemed to be around. "Something's not right…" Jordan began to have a sickening feeling grow in the pit of her stomach. The boys looked around warily as they continued to walk forward. Suddenly Hakuryu flew towards them seemingly in a panic.
"Hakuryu! What happened?!" Jordan didn't wait long enough to find out who asked. At the sight of the disgruntled Hakuryu, she sprinted towards the room her cousin was supposed to be in. Clutching her white bag nervously, Jordan opened the door, and walked into the room.
"Kade!" Jordan screamed as she looked around the room. It was completely ransacked. The table was in pieces, the beds torn apart, shattered glass littered the floor, and all of their belongings were thrown around the room. The others came in just seconds after the scream. Arriving as Jordan was running around the room looking for Kadence. "Kade, you bitch! You better be here! I swear you better not be fucking with me!" Jordan screamed in frustration.
"Jordan…" Gojyo started, slowly approaching the enraged woman.
"Don't!" She snarled at him.
"Mrrrowwr…" A drowsy cat like noise could be heard from the corner of the room. Jordan was there in an instant.
"Kade!" she yelled searching frantically. Another soft mew could be heard, as Jordan got closer, finally locating the human kitten somewhere in the corner of the room. Hakuryu's frantic cooing could be heard, as he was pulling Hakkai towards Jordan.
"Mrowr!" Kadence's head suddenly poked out between the clothes and clutter.
"Dammit Kade! Are you trying to give me a fuckin heart attack?!" Jordan grabbed the cat and began to squeeze her tightly in an embrace. All four men were shocked. They don't remember ever seeing Jordan showing physical affection towards her cousin. Jordan could feel their stares burrowing into her back; she quickly looked at them. Then threw Kadence away from her.
"Mrowr!" Kadence mewed. Hakkai chuckled at the scene. Gojyo looked amused as he lit another cigarette. Sanzo located a useable chair and started reading his newspaper.
"Ne! Jordan! What about the white bag?!" Goku chimed in excitement and curiosity.
"Oh right!" Jordan started opening the bag. Being the closest to her, Hakkai unable to quell his curiosity, stole a glance at it. Haha so that's what she got huh?
"Wait Jordan, before you do that, why don't we ask Kade what happened first."
"Oh…? So you know?" Hakkai only smiled in reply. "And you won't try to stop me?"
"Wouldn't dream of it." Jordan raised an eyebrow, not totally believing his consent.
"Oi! Don't leave the rest of us in suspense! Tell us what it is!" Gojyo's frustration could be heard in his voice.
"Calm down kappa. All in due time."
"Hey Hakkai, how are we supposed to communicate with her? Is she gonna turn back now?" Goku asked voicing the obvious.
"I don't think quite yet, but perhaps she can write it out for us?" He answered though looking at Kadence while he said his question. Kadence cocked her head to the side pondering on how to fulfill his request. With a cheeky grin she eyed Sanzo's newspaper and a bottle of spilled ink on the floor.
Uh- oh…I know that grin… Jordan thought to herself as she eyed her cousin warily. Suddenly Kade made a lunge at Sanzo, who wasn't expecting the surprise attack. She quickly snatched his precious newspaper and laid it next to the spilled ink. Skillfully she dipped one of her claws in the ink and started to write. Jordan grinned. Hakkai stole a quick glance at Sanzo; he could already see his hands twitching in annoyance at the destruction and loss of his reading material.
"Mrowr!" Hakkai looked towards Kadence, it seemed as though she was finished. Sitting on top of her writing tools, she started patting the paper with her paw, in confirmation of his silent question. Hakkai started to pick up the paper wary of any wet ink, as Kadence got off it.
"Er... I'm afraid I don't understand, I can't tell if it her hand writing or if its in another language…" Hakkai commented astounded by the strange characters.
"It says 'Creepy Bastards demons, looking, scripture, me, Hakuryu hid us both, they took…'" Hakkai blushed at the next words. She was not going to be happy. "..Er… here Gojyo you read…" Hakkai said pushing the paper into Gojyo's hands.
"Eh?! Why-" before he could continue questioning, he was met with Hakkai's "Do what I say or suffer" smile. Feeling a shiver of fear run down his back he shut up and began to read where Hakkai left off. "They took JJ's bra and panties and-"
"THEY WHAT?!" Jordan bellowed, eyes full of fired aimed directly at Gojyo.
"Hakkai, you bastard! You set me up!" Gojyo, quickly scrambled behind the knocked over table, hoping to gain cover from the irate woman. "I refuse to read anymore!" He yelled as he threw the paper towards Goku. "You read saru, unless of course you don't know how."
"Bastard! Of course I can read! At least I'm not cowering behind a broken table like some pervy water sprite!"
"Oh yeah chimp?! Why don't-"
"Both of you just shut up and read!" Jordan barked, throwing the paper to Gojyo again. Grumblings about pms-y control freaks with anger issues could be heard from behind the table. "I heard that you bastard!" Hakkai chuckled This was exactly why, I didn't want to read that. Grabbing the paper Hakkai continued reading. " – and they left."
"So if we translate that into a proper sentence…" Jordan started "It should mean that Neo's demons broke in and were searching for Sanzo's scripture and Kade, however, Hakuryu managed to hide both of them in time and before they left they managed to make a death wish and completely piss me off." Jordan looked towards Kadence for her confirmation, she only mewed in response.
"Oi!" Gojyo called from behind the table. "Can we see what's in the bag now?!" He was hoping this would distract her from trying to kill him for something he didn't even do. Jordan's evil smirk appeared again and she started to slowly walk towards her cousin.
"Here kitty kitty kitty…" Jordan mocked, sounding more like a predator about to eat her prey. Kadence hissed, her inner sense of future embarrassment started going off. She had made a mad dash trying to get to safety. She got around her cousin, and jumped into Hakkai's arms. Surely he wouldn't let her cousin do anything to her.
"Hakkai…You said you wouldn't stop me."
He chuckled. "True, but I didn't say I'd help you either."
"I see…" Jordan smiled, Sneaky bastard. At least she's improving. Jordan walked towards Hakkai, and whispered low enough for only him to hear. "She, trusts you, you know." The gravity of her words did not escape him.
"I know."
Though this quick little exchange didn't go unnoticed to the rest of the group, they ignored it. Letting out a breath she didn't realize she was holding, she turned around and said "Fine, but just know, I'll get her somehow, but until then the animals should eat!" she grabbed the to-go meals, unwrapped and handed one to Hakuryu, and one to Hakkai who was still holding Kadence. Letting her down, Hakkai unwrapped the "moist pink" salmon, and slid it over to Kadence, as he took a seat next to her absent mindedly petting her as she ate. Jordan took note of this, but said nothing as she started another fight with Sanzo. Hakkai smiled as he took in the scene before him. You know Kade, you have one hell of a cousin.
"Jordan, Gojyo, would you guys mind going into town and picking up some supplies, and some clothes for Kade? Goku and I are going to clean up here." Jordan made a face of annoyance at Hakkai's request.
"But couldn't he go by himself? And I'd much rather stay here and help." Jordan tried negotiating.
"If he went by himself, he'd be distracted by women, if you went by yourself then you'd shop for hours, and if Goku went with him instead, they'd destroy the town, and if Goku went with you, well you'll end up losing him in the market." Hakkai explained trying to choose his words carefully lest he anger her again. Jordan grimaced. Dammit!
"Fine… let's go ass face." If Gojyo had made any argument, she didn't wait to hear it, as she already left out the door. Gojyo, grumbling, followed soon after.
"Alright then, Goku let's get started."
"You promised me Kadence! But I haven't even laid eyes on her! So far, all I've managed to do is come across that fucking bitch with her cousin nowhere in sight!" Neo slammed his fist against the table between him and Nyjiani, effectively cracking it.
Nyjiani was sitting comfortably in a chair opposing Neo, his bunny sitting on his lap. He tried to cover his chuckles by moving his hand delicately to cover his face, as if he were thinking.
"Mmm. I see. You definitely like this girl, don't you?" Nyjiani could no longer hold his composure; He began to chuckle.
"Don't fuck with me! Where is she!?" Neo broke the table in two.
Nyjiani looked up seriously at Neo, no longer as amused as before. "I can guarantee that they are both in this world. If her cousin is as protective of her as you say she is. What makes you think her cousin is far from her?" Nyjiani smiled, "I bet she is a lot closer than you think."
Neo began to think, when he met up with the group she was nowhere in sight. His men just searched the room registered to the group and said they couldn't find anyone. He needed more information," I want to talk to the demons that ransacked their room. I also want spies on them. The best you got." Neo exclaimed looking at Nyjiani with a face that refused the word "no" as an answer.
"Fine, but now tell me more about this Jordan girl. She intrigues me." He smiled, "What did you say she did to you again?"
