Chapter 19 - The Egyptian Coven

Caius's POV

We have been travelling all over the world, finding allies of the Volturi and friends of Isabella. It has been fun travelling with her but she hasn't reveal her identity to me yet.

I have learnt many things from her. She has taught me to use the paralysing ability but I haven't been able to paralyse someone completely. She has taught me to fight in different styles and better my style too. I now can fight without seeing an opponent. It came in handy when we were attacked by a group of Russians who had a blinding ability.

Isabella just teleported us to Egypt to find her Egyptian friends. We stayed in the shadows in Cairo.

"Where do you think they are living?" I asked.

"They mostly stay in the pyramids and come to town to hunt at night." She replied.

I looked at her and noticed that her eyes were very dark brown nearly black.

"Are you alright, Isabella?"

"I'm fine. I need to do something. Why don't you head to the pyramids and I will meet you there?"

"Ok."

She left down another alley way.

I travelled through the shadows to the closest pyramid. I looked closely and found cracks in the shape of a door. I pressed on it and it opened.

I walked inside and I saw a blur run at me. I dodged it and saw that it was Amun.

"What the hell are you doing here in my home, Volturi?" He asked me.

"I came here searching for someone. I was told that they lived in the pyramids. I didn't think it was you."

He attacked me again and I dodged again.

Next thing I know I am surrounded by fire. I looked around and saw a boy shooting it out of his hands.

I jumped over it and attacked the boy. I did as Isabella taught me and hit him in the centre of his back.

He went down instantly.

'Wow. It worked.' I thought.

I looked back at Amun.

"We are recruiting against the Russian Coven. They plan on destroying us? Will you help us?" I asked.

"Why should we help you. I would be glad if you were destroyed." He replied angrily.

He gestured behind me. I was attacked again and saw that it was the boy again. He knocked me to the ground and surrounded me with fire again.

'Why didn't it last longer? When Isabella did it, I was frozen till she unfroze me.'

I heard the door opened and the fire went out.

"What the hell? Who did that?" The boy said.

I looked behind me and saw Isabella.

'Thank god.'

"Amun, is that a way to greet a friend? I come to see you and you attack my friend." Isabella said.

Amun looked behind me and paled.

'I never thought a vampire could become paler. We have no blood.'

He dropped to his knees.

'Huh.'

"Mistress Isabella. I am sorry. I have hated the Volturi for a long time. I didn't know he was with you. You should have come with him and I wouldn't have attacked."

'Mistress. Who is she really? I have never heard anyone be called Mistress.' I thought.

I looked at the boy and saw he was about to attack again.

Amun looked over as well.

"Benjamin don't. Mistress Isabella is a very close and dear friend."

"Mistress. What the hell? You told me of the Volturi and how much you hate them. Now you are protecting them."

"Don't challenge me, boy. I could destroy you in a second." Isabella said.

He growled at me.

"Don't even think about it, Benjamin." Amun said angrily. "If Mistress Isabella tells you to do something you do it or she will punish you."

'Huh.'

"So what? She's human. What can she do?" He said.

I looked at Isabella and saw that she was pissed off.

"I am not human and you had better show some respect to me before I kill you." She said.

"Good luck with that. I could kill you in an instant." He said cockily.

'He sounded like I did when I challenged her. I don't think she will be as kind this time.'

"Are you challenging me, boy?" She asked.

'I thought so. He should back down now.'

I back away.

"Yes, bring it on." He said.

"So be it."

She grabbed the clip of her cloak, un-did it and passed it to me. She un-clipped her belt which I saw a few blades and other stuff hanging on it and passed it to me also.

"Please hold on to these for me."

"Of course."

I went and stood with Amun.

She looked at him. He nodded.

She turned to Ben and went into a crouch.

He did as well. I noticed then that he summoned fire to fight her.

'Oh god.' I thought backing away.

"It's fine, Caius." Amun said. "Isabella has surrounded us in a force field."

"Ok."

I was watching the fight. Isabella must have done something because the fire went out and it looked like he couldn't summon it again.

"What the hell did you do to my power?" He said.

"I weakened it."

He charged at her. One minute he was in front of her and the next he was on the ground unable to move.

'Wow. She is quick.'

"That won't hold me for long. That guy over there did the same thing and I broke out of it in a few seconds." He said looking at me.

She looked at me then at Amun.

"Caius has been learning that skill for a while and that was the first time he has done it. I, on the other hand, have mastered it, but try to get out of it." Isabella replied.

She looked back at Amun.

"We came here, as Caius said, to ask for you and your covens help in the war against the Russians. You used to be a part of their coven. I was hoping you could shed some light on them."

"Wait, you were a part of their coven. How old are you?" I asked.

He looked at me.

"I am seven thousand years old and yes I was. I was one of the leaders until they destroyed my mate. I left them before they attacked the Romanians and Isabella found me. She listened to me instead of judging me and I told her everything I know and left." Amun replied.

He looked back at her.

"Sorry Mistress. I don't know any more than you do. I'm guessing they are attacking again to gain ruling over the vampire race."

"Yeah, I think so too. Will you join us in this fight, old friend?"

"Of course. What will you do with Benjamin here?"

"I think as punishment, I will remove his limbs for a week and see if he will behave then."

He flinched.

She took off his limbs and gestured to me, to carry him and follow her down to the dungeons. We chained him down and put his limbs in boxes and locked them. She kept the keys.

~~~~~ A Week Later ~~~~~

Isabella and I went do to the dungeons with two humans drugged and dragged behind us.

"Benjamin, do you think you have learned your lesson?" Isabella asked.

Ben was on the ground in chains. He looked up and I saw his eyes were black.

"Yes, Mistress. I'm sorry for treating you the way I did. I was just protecting my coven. My mate was killed last year and I nearly lost Amun too." He replied.

"I think you have learn your lesson. If you had told me this instead of challenging me, I wouldn't have to punish you." She said.

She walked over and unlocked the boxes. She pulled the limbs out and walked over to him. She re-attached them.

She gestured to me, to bring the humans over.

As soon as he was un-chained and latched on to them and drained them quickly. Afterwards, he walked over to us and bowed.

"I promise not to attack you again."

"Good. Let's go and see Amun."

We walked out of the dungeons and walked to the centre of the pyramid.

"I see you have redeemed yourself, Ben."

"Yes Amun."

"It's time we get going but first..."

She created a jewel.

"Elementorum covina sciendum quod Aegyptiae cii mei sunt. Ignis, tueri socios meos Benedicat terra Dominum: demmam creare. Aer et aqua, et spiritu abscondamus ab hoste, si decere covina Aegyptius. Elementa adunare tueri et patitur." I heard her say.

(English translation: Elements, let it be known that the Egyptian coven are my allies. Fire, protect my allies. Earth, create the jewel. Air and Water, hide them from the enemy and Spirit, to tell if it is not the Egyptian coven. Elements unite, protect and allow.)

She told me it was in Latin.

"This jewel will tell the Volturi that I had sent you. Ben, I hope next time we meet you will be nicer. If you are, I will train you with more control over your powers."

"Really. Thanks Mistress."

"See you both in Volterra."

She touched me and teleported out.
