Hey guys. Yes I'm back and thank you for all the support y'all have given me. I like to say, I'm doing all right. I am hurting a lot and it will take time for it to heal. But so far, I'm doing ok. Six weeks for soft food...first week, an I'm already getting sick of Jell-o...this is gonna take a loooooong time... So here's the next one! An I think it's the one before the last chappie! So let's get this done!

Chapter 20. The Search and the Reunites.

After agreeing with the prince, Shadow, along with Ash, and Conner, the two walked on through town looking around the place for the right girl. All the eligable girls rushed out of their houses and stores just to try the slipper. Some were too big, others were too small. Some had even tried to force their way in the slipper making Shadow rush up and swipe the slipper out of their reach before they could break it. Ash and Conner watched with hope in their friend. Also, they wished to at least go and look for the ones they want to see as well. Ash and Conner had two guards to look after Shadow while they searched themselves.

Conner

Conner walked over to the book store where he had first met Moonlight. He hoped that he would find her somewhere and the first place he thought was that store. He walked in slowly and looked around the place. Looking high and low for a girl hedgehog who he desperately wanted to see. Conner walked down the aisles left and right looking all around the place more, "I think she's here..." he told himself.

As he continued, he noticed a familiar girl looking through the books. It was none other than Moonlight herself. Hiding behind a bookshelf, Conner saw what she was doing. Moonlight was trying to reach for a book that was on the top of the shelf. Using four large dictionaries, she stood on top of them trying to reach for it, "Come on...almost..." she struggled, stretching her hand up to at least get the book with her middle finger.

Conner came out of hiding and walked slowly up to her making sure not to surprise her. As Moonlight was about to touch the top of the book, she heard slight feet shuffling behind her, "Huh?" she turned her head to see who it was, but suddenly lost her balance having the tower of books below her slip out from underneath her, "AHH!".

Conner then rushed over to her quick as he can then instantly falls to his back on the floor sliding to her landing spot. "Oof!" she grunted sitting up, "Man...that was...did I fall on something soft?" she asked herself.

"Nope...ugh...on someone...".

Moonlight's eyes turned to greet the shinning pure blue ones she always wished to see, "...Conner?" she gasped.

The green hedgehog smiled and nodded. Instantly, Moonlight gasped more loudly and fell completely on top of him hugging him tightly, "Conner!" she shouted happily.

He hugged her tightly even more than she. He finally found her and was so glad she remembered him still. Quickly after at least a few minutes of hugging, the two finally stood up never letting go of their locked up hands. "I can't believe you actually came. I didn't think you'd want to find me." she said with a little sadness in her voice.

Conner smiled and shook his head, "After the ball, and that wonderful dance, I vowed to go and find you. I never wanted you to leave and now that I found you, you'll be with me forever.".

Moonlight smiled happily and hugged him once more. Conner returned it completely wrapping one arm around her waist and the other in her hair stroking her gently. Finally. He's found her and no one will ever take her away. Moonlight was smiling ear to ear completely hugging the one she loves. She wanted to stay like that forever, but her lasting dreams came to awakening when he gently pushed her away, but held her hand tightly, "Huh?" she spoke.

"I need to get back to Shadow." he said to her, "And your coming with me.".

Moonlight smiled and nodded. She tightened her hand in his as both hedgehogs left the store completely forgetting why she was there in the first place.

Ash

Ash continued his way down the path through the town. He had once thing on his mind and that was Kaitlyn. Everything about her was completely hard to get rid of even if he tried or wanted to, he couldn't. He sighed sadly to himself, "Great...I can't seem to know where she would be...how will I find her? I MISS HER ALREADY!" he shouted with large tears coming out.

Several passerbys came through seeing what the hell this guy was even crying about. Ash ignored the looks and continued to sulk in his own little area. He knelt to the ground and hugged his knees to his chest then started tracing little circles in the brick ground, "Guess dreams never come true for big idiots..." he mumbled a whine.

"Awwww I don't have that much money!" suddenly, his ears twitched instantly at a very familiar whine. Ash looked up from his sulking space and turned to where he heard the voice. There he saw a little cake store with plenty of cakes and goodies all over, but what he was also looking at was really a little hedgcat by the window looking around the sweets.

Ash got up instantly and walked over to the figure. He noticed she was looking at the cakes inside with a bit of drool from her mouth. Only one girl he knows has an eye on sweets like he does and thats her. "They are sooooo good...I wish I had enough money..." she whined more placing her face on the glass.

The man snickered at her and quickly got up beside her, "I see you like cakes. I can get you one if your name is...'Kaitlyn'." he smirked.

The girl looked up from the glass, "Yeah...that's my..." she then looked to see Ash in front of her, "YOU!" she shrieked.

Ash smiled wide, "ME!" he yelled back. Suddenly his arms were full from Kaitlyn after jumping on him. He swung her around happily as both were laughing loudly, but happily. Soon the two stopped and hugged each other much tighter, "I found you! I found you! I found you!" he cheered happily.

"I found you, you silly!" Kaitlyn smiled hugging the man she really wanted to see since.

"I can't believe I didn't realize this sooner! I should've looked here in the first place!".

Kaitlyn laughed, "You big dummy! I love cake! You know that!" she joked poking his nose.

Ash smiled and kissed her cheek, "Thanks for telling me that!" he joked then let go of her then held her hand tightly, "Now you get to be with me forever!".

She smiled joyfully, "Ok! I hoped to find you and now I did, your all mine!" she cheered hugging his arm tightly.

With a smile, Ash held her hand tightly, "Then lets go! Also...I need to get back with the others..." he said rolling his eyes a bit.

"At least we'll be together huh?" she smiled happily.

Ash thought for a bit, then looked at her playfully, "Of course!" he said.

Kaitlyn smiled much more and hugged his arm tighter. With that, the two walked off down the path back to Shadow and Conner again forgetting the cake store.

And done. Sorry it's so bland. I guess I don't have my writer's touch yet since I've been gone for so long. Hope you like it still. BYENEEE!
