~Ed's P.O.V~
"WHERE THE HELL AM I!" I shouted out into the darkness as I heard my voice echoing. Finally I got a reply but it was a scream. "AHHHHHH" I heard. I was startled and backed away from the screech until I recognized it to be Alex. "ALEX!" I yelled as I ran towards her scream. "ED?!" she screamed back. It sounded like she was crying. I finally saw her from a distance and ran up to her as fast as I could. I'm guessing she saw me to 'cause she was running towards me. "Eddie!" she cried, embracing me with a tight hug. "What's wrong, are you ok?" I asked her in a worried tone. "I-It's e-everywhere…" She stuttered in a muffled tone through my chest. "What's everywhe-" I began to say until I noticed that she was talking about the blood. Alex began to cry more. 'She doesn't like blood…damn…' I thought. "Alex it's ok, I'm here just don't think about it, we might be here a while" I said trying to comfort her and not scare her with the thought of not knowing how long we might be stuck in here, wherever we were. She hesitated for a moment but nodded with her face still against my chest. I felt her tears lighten up a bit.
'I hate seeing her cry'. "It's all Ling's fault, that idiot!" I shouted in anger and she looked at me startled. "Hey! Who are you calling an idiot!" Ling said behind us. Alex and I looked at him dumbfounded. "Ling!" Alex yelled in happiness while running up to him, giving him a hug. Then a thought cross my mind. 'What if Ling was Envy!' I thought. "Alex wait, how do we know you're not Envy 'Ling'" I said. Alex gasped and backed away from him. "Seriously, do you want me to tell you the list of the room service bill" Ling said annoyed. "Ok then, you're the real deal" I said. "I know that you're really Alex" Ling said with a smile, ruffling her hair. "But how do I know you're not Envy, you little small fry" he said looking at me. I snapped and ran straight towards him. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING SMALL FRY YOU BASTARD!" I yelled trying to kick him in the face but he deflected them with ease. "Ok, just checking if it was really you" he said.
I then heard a small laugh coming from Alex. I stopped my rampage against Ling and looked at her in amazement. "I'm sorry onii-san…but both of your reactions…were funny…" she said in between her laughter. Ling and I smiled at her, happy that she's forgetting her surroundings. "I'm just glad you feel better" Ling said. She looked up at us with a smile and nodded. "So do you guys have any idea how we got here?" I asked them. Alex shook her head saying 'no' while Ling said. "The last thing that I remember was when Gluttony swallowed us". "So are you saying is that were in his stomach" I said with a hint of sarcasm, not believing him. I saw Alex's eyes go wide and she backed up behind me in fear. "I hate to say it but yeah, look over there" Ling gestured his torch, which I just noticed was in his hand -_-, to a big piece of a wall from the cabin we were in before all of this happened. "It's part of the cabin we were hiding in, also look behind you" he said. Alex and I looked behind us to see the Lieutenant's car tipped over. "I-it's Hawkeyes car" Alex said surprised. "And you see the fire that's everywhere, maybe its Mustangs flames when he tried to barbecue Gluttony" she said looking at the flames surrounding us in this dark void.
"Your right Alex" I told her. "But this doesn't make any sense, how can Gluttony's stomach be this big" Alex said confused. "I don't know Alex but I doubt this will be easy to get out" Ling told her. She looked shocked and scared. Alex gripped the back of my shirt and I felt her shaking. "Ling!" I glared at him as I hugged her, trying to calm her down. "I-I'm sorry Alex" Ling stuttered while raising his hands up. I was looking around for a place to sit so she can rest without her sitting on blood, 'I don't want her to freak out', until I saw something from a distance that caught my eye. "Wait let me see your torch" I told Ling but took it before he could answer. "E-Ed" Alex called out for me. "What is it" Ling asked. I then picked up the object that looked like Al's hand, well armored hand. "Alex, Ling, look" I said raising it up so they could see it. "Wait, isn't that Al's" Ling asked. "Yeah but it's only his hand" I said. "That's a good thing right, it means that he didn't get swallowed" Alex said hoping she was right. "Yeah…he's safe…" I said in a low voice. She sighed in relief. "He's probably pissed since he doesn't know where we are" I said chuckling a little in the end. "Isn't there a way to contact him" she asked. "Maybe there is…" I said until an idea came to mind. I screamed. "ELRIC BROTHER TELEPATHY" I yelled more while waving Al's hand over my head like a maniac. Once again I heard Alex laughing at me as Ling started to walk away from me, grabbing Alex's hand. "How are you guys related…" I heard him mumble.
After I finished my chant, which did not go well BTW, we moved ahead looking for a way out of this place. "This place is like a waist land" I said looking at the remaining bones that were left from the humans that Gluttony might of eaten, hoping that Alex didn't see them. I wanted to lighten the mood and tried thinking of something. Then I saw something glowing next to Alex. As I looked at it more closely, I noticed that it was a colorful sword and it was attached to Alex's side. "Hey Alex, how did you get that sword?" I asked her since it wasn't with her before. "Huh? Oh you mean this? I made her" she said holding it out so Ling and I can look at it better. 'Her?' "How did you make it?" Ling asked her. "It is not an 'it' she's a 'her'" Alex said annoyed. "Well when you were making your 'little speech'" she said looking at Ling as he rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment "I transmuted her with alchemy, combing all the elements I know" she continued. "Is that even possible?" I Ling said. 'That's a stupid question, he's staring right at 'it'- I mean 'her'' I thought as I looked at him. "Well if it isn't, I just made the impossible!" Alex shouted raising it up high. "Watch, but if I were you I would stand back…" she said with a devilish smile. Ling and I ran to her side and she started swinging her sword around. With each cut she made, some kind of power, well in this case 'element', was released. For example, one cut would release fire and the next cut would create some sort of yellow spark, like electricity, which would cause an explosion. I was amazed at what my sister created. My little sister! "How do you do that!?" I asked, still amazed. "I don't know I just think of an element I want to use and it just pop's out of her blade" he said so bluntly while shrugging her shoulder's.
After a while, Ling's and mine's amazement died down and we continued walking. "I'm starting to wonder if there's a way out of here" Alex said with an emotionless face. I frowned at her comment. 'She's never been the same since 'that' day' I thought. "Well if there isn't one, I'll make one myself" I said confidently. "Oh yeah how" Ling questioned me. "Like this…" I said as I transmuted 'ground' into a well. "Oh I get it" Alex said. Ling grabbed another torch as he dropped it down the well. We were silent, trying to wait until the torch hit a solid surface. After 4 seconds we still heard nothing. "Shouldn't we have heard it by now" I pouted. Then at the same time, we all thought of the same idea. We all ran forward. "A wall!" I yelled. "There has to be one!" Alex shouted next. "It doesn't matter if were in a stomach there's always a wall!" Ling yelled also. We were panicking and running out of ideas fast! Soon we all grew tired and to dragged out feet through the pool of blood. "I'm hungry" Alex spoke up. "Well I'm starving" Ling said next. "Quite complaining you 2 and start looking for shelter so we can rest" I told them. Then I heard SPLASH and a scream coming from Alex. I turned around to see Alex on the 'floor' moving away from a rotten corpse. 'She must have tripped over it!' I thought. "Are you ok Alex!" Ling asked her. She didn't reply, she just stared at the body with wide eyes. I moved towards her as quickly as I could, trying to block her view of the corpse. "Alex you're ok, just don't think about it okay" I said in a soothing voice. "I-it's a b-body" she said not taking her eyes off it. "Don't look" I said as I hugged her tighter. I felt her shaking. "Come on, we should get going" I said putting my hand over her eyes as we went around the corpse.
We walked for about 2 minutes until Ling started to complain again. "This is stupid" he said as he slumped his shoulders. At this point I put my hand down from Alex's eyes. "And getting old" she said. "When we find an exit and get out of here I'll let you guys order whatever you want" I told them. Once again I heard a SPLASH but this time everything went quiet. Me and Alex turned around to see Ling collapsed. "L-Ling" Alex stuttered. "Just leave me here" he said. "You're so pathetic, it's bad enough that were stuck here but now we got to worry about you!" I yelled. "Come on Ling…get up" Alex said as she started to pull on his arm. "Well I'm leaving, you're not dragging us down with you, come on Alex" I said as I walked away. "E-Ed…that's not true w-we can't just leave him" she said. "Fine I'll leave you both here to die!" I yelled while walking away but stopped dead in my tracks as I noticed what I just said. I turned around to see Alex with tears in her eyes and had a shocked expression on her face. "I-I didn't mean it" I said reaching out to her but she backed away. "Y-you never cared did you…" she said horrified as she was backing away. "N-no I do, I'm sorry I di-" said but was cut off by Alex as she screamed "I HATE YOU EDWARD!" and ran away from us. "A-Alex wait! I'm sorry!" I called out to her but she was far gone. "Damn it!" I yelled. I put the torch in my mouth and grabbed Ling and put him over my shoulder. "You didn't have to be so cruel to her" he said. "Shut up I know, it just slipped out!" I yelled at him. "Anyway I thought you were gonna leave me" he muttered. "There are too many people I'd leave behind by dying here, I'm sure you have some people you'd leave behind too" I told him.
Finally I found a hill so we could rest. As I got closer I saw Alex lying on top of it. "Alex!" I yelled in relief but I noticed that her eyes were closed and had a pained expression on her face as she clutched her stomach. I set down Ling next to her as I checked to see if she was alright. "Are you ok" I asked her. "I-I don't need your help…" she muttered as she shoved me away and got up but fell back down and collapsed into my arms. "Alex! Wake up!" I yelled shaking her but she wouldn't move. 'What's wrong with her!' I thought. "Ed stop it! You'll just make it worse, she probably just collapsed from starvation" Ling told me as he sat up and put his hand on her forehead. "She has a fever too, we have to give her something to eat or it'll get worse" he said in a serious tone. "R-Right" I said. 'But how…' I thought. "I got it!" I shouted. I started making soup out of my leather shoe since its edible. I transmuted 3 bowls for us. I passed one to Ling and he looked at me like I was crazy or something. "You don't have athletes foot do you" Ling asked me. I grew irritated at him. "I used the shoe that had my metal foot in it you idiot!" I yelled at him. Then I remembered Alex and how she was sick. I Fed her the soup since she was still unconscious. Later on, Ling and I finished all the soup I made and our hunger was satisfied. Alex fell asleep after I finished feeding her the soup. I gave her a slight smile and pulled her closer to me. Then I remembered what I said to her before she ran away.
"Fine I'll leave you both here to die!" I yelled while walking awaybut stopped dead in my tracks as I noticed what I just said.
I turned around to see Alex with tears in her eyes and had a shocked expression on her face.
"Y-you never cared did you…" she said horrified as she was backing away.
She screamed "I HATE YOU EDWARD!"
"A-Alex wait! I'm sorry!" I called out to her but she was far gone.
"Damn it… I should have never had said that…especially when she's at this state…" I whispered to myself as I held her closer. "You know it's not your fault, it's just that the situation were in is getting to you" Ling said trying to not make me feel guilty. "I guess but still…I had no right to say that" I said. It was quiet for a moment until Ling asked me a question to keep my mind off the subject.
"Hey Ed, why is Alex so terrified at the sight of blood" Ling asked. I sighed. "Well I'm not exactly sure why, but I have an idea" I said. "I think it has something to do with what happened to our best friend _ when we were kids". Ling looked confused. "What happened to him/her" Ling asked. "Um well he/she was a year older than us so he/she was like a big brother/sister to us. When we were little we were playing with _ one day and went over to his/her house but while we were playing, someone broke into the house. His/Her parents weren't there so we didn't know what to do. _ told us to hide while he/she would lead the robber away from the house. We did what we were told and hid in a closet. Suddenly we heard _ scream. Alex went to go check it out as I tried to stop her but when we got there…we saw _ dead on the floor with his/her blood splattered everywhere and the robber was nowhere to be found. Later, the police came and took the body away and Alex has never been the same since…" I said as I looked down at her. She was moving a little in my arms and I saw a tear running down her cheek "_-_..." she whispered in her sleep. 'She must be remembering' I thought. "That's awful, no wonder she's so traumatized of blood" Ling said. "But when that was happening, where was Al?" he asked. "He went with our mother to the store so luckily he wasn't there" I sighed. "Well isn't that sad and so tragic too…" I heard a familiar voice…
'Fine I'll leave you both here to die!'
