,"May wanna take this somewhere else darlin, ain't wanting anyone seeing ya" his possessiveness had her shuddering under his touch. It was never this way with Ed, yet with Daryl it was and always will be different.
"And where do you suggest Dixon?" his lips smirked as he glanced around the place, noticing an abandoned shop, he guided her to it, ignoring all that was going on in the square. He needed his woman and he needed her now, feel her in his arms, under him,be inside her, so he knew she was real and safe.
"Ain't got long, so hurry the fuck up" more like he couldn't wait any longer, from the moment he had located her within the town, when he held her in his arms again, he had craved her touch. Pushing the door open, he was grateful that it wasn't as abandoned, as he originally thought. To the right hand side of him, along the wall was a sofa, big enough for the pair of them, he just prayed it would hold them.
"Strip" was all he said closing the door behind him.
Merle had followed Abraham, with Andrea close behind, wanting to hear what this man had to say to the townsfolk, now The Governor and Ed along with some of his little shits had been taken out.
"Now folk's I know this all seems violent to most of you, but it had to be done, we had to get our town back" There seemed to be cheers, around the town, yet Merle knew the man had more to say, to console them, comfort them and allow them to once again feel safe within their zone and homes.
"I know some believed Philip was doing right, and if so, then step forward and we can discuss whether, you would like to stay or go" Three men came forward, laying their guns to the side, they agreed they would like to stay, see where this town would go.
"Now as you can see we have myself,, Tyresse, Rosita and Sasha, who are all willing to help run this town, under your direction. Each of you go home tonight and think about one thing, you can think of that will make this place run smoothly. I want you to sleep on it and tomorrow we will open the town hall and you can put your idea's in the boxes. This town is no longer going to be run under strict leadership, we will all work together, we will still man the wall's, build the houses, strengthen our barriers. Then within the week we will do a vote, and you the public decide who you want to run this place" hearing a cheer go up, he nodded his head, turning away from the crowd, he headed towards his own home, with his small group following, passing Merle, he stopped.
"Ya did well there, if ya going to run this town as ya say, wonder if ya had any space for our group?" Smiling at Merle, he patted him on the back
"If we don't have space we will build it, you and your group are more than welcome to stay here, after what you did to help us, I would be honored if you choose to stay with us"
"Thank you, the other's have headed to the farm to bring the group back, can ya show us a place we can rest out head's tonight?" Merle liked this guy, he had a good sense of what was right and wrong, and strong leadership, if the town choose him they would be choosing the right person.
"Sure can, we have a few empty houses, we have yet to finish fixing up, they are habitable, if you like them. I have no problem you fixing them up as yours., Think there is around 6, hope that will be enough, if not as I say we will build more"
Herschel could sense a change in the air, it wasn't much, just enough to get his back up, glancing across the fields, the sun left a hazy mist. The sky blue as could be, a perfect day for fishing, he laughed to himself, things he took for granted, were now dangerous, if you didn't have your wits about you, and a knife or gun to hand.
"Something wrong daddy?" Turning to his youngest he smiled
"Nah, just an inclining things are not quiet right. Where's the others?"
"Pottering around, I think all are on edge, with the main part of their group gone, they cannot settle" Her small hand held his arm as they walked towards the old pasture, that once held eight horses, now down to two.
"So much has changed in such a short time. I do not think we are safe for much longer here. I can feel it deep down, we will have to move and that my darling daughter is something I can safely admit, I am scared to do" Yet he knew within his soul, the time was slipping away, and he was coming closer and closer, to the moment he was dreading.
"Daddy someone is coming" Beth nudged him away from his thoughts pointing towards the road, he knew those cars, thank god they were back. All would be ok, turning towards the house, his face paling, across the paddock in the far corner of the farm, were shadows, lots of shadows, his gut telling him the time had come, this was it.
"Beth run as fast as you can back to the house, tell everyone we need to move NOW!" watching her run, he felt the tears falling from his eyes, he couldn't stay here, those things were moving towards them, no way would the house stand, sending a prayer up to his god, he just hoped they all got out in time.
Beth rushed into the farm house, her breath coming in gasps; her cheeks flaming,
"We...we need to go." Sophia was up from her seat wondering what had the older girl running scared. Looking out of the window which overlooked the paddock, her face too drained off color, they were coming, her mummy and daddy had no idea she was in harm's way, and they were coming
"Sophia honey go grab ya stuff hurry" Her whole body relaxed when she heard her granddaddy, calming her with his word's, he had come back, that meant her parents were safe, at least she hoped so.
"Are...?" all he did was nod at her, letting her know the answer to the question she was going to ask
"safe and waiting for ya honey" leaving her to locate her meager belongings and her parents stuff she moved them to the RV.
"Gonna need to move T-dog into the RV we don't have much time" Pa Dixon took control of the panic stricken group, the last time they had seen a herd this big was leaving Atlanta, and they didn't have the Dixon brother's with them now. He just wanted them all out of there and fast, checking around he saw Herschel moving the two horses into the trailer, good they would need them at the new place. Dale helping him move T-dog, whilst others packing and exiting, all done with speed.
"Carl, hurry we need to go" Rick shouted Lori and Carl glad to see they had already packed and were heading towards him. Things happened so fast, they were lucky that no one was left behind. As the first of the Walker's hit the barn, the last of the vehicles exited through the small gate onto the road leading towards their new homes and safety.
"We did it granddaddy" Sophia's face beaming with the smile, they all felt they could now do. It had been close, so damn close, but it had been done. He just hoped this new place was as safe, as his son's thought. It had to be, especially with a new born coming into this crazy world.
