The path lead to the old, rickety, abandoned, partially demolished, lighthouse. After what's happened last time, he didn't want to go back. But he had to.
"Lugnut, I's want you to stay here. I's going the rest of the way on my own." Butchy said.
"You's sure?"
"Yeah. I's gotta do this alone."
Butchy then proceeded to walk out and run up the path aways. After following the two for a while, he saw the lighthouse. Butchy went over to a patch of bushes, and ducked down.
"I can do this. I can do this. I can't do this! No! I HAVE to do this! For Tessa!" Butchy whispered to himself.
That is, until he saw Hank walking back down the path. Once Hank was past and out of sight, Butchy ran toward the Lighthouse. His pace picked up as he got closer to it. Once he got to the door though, he stopped. He looked around, before reaching down and finding the charred key, still hidden under the soot covered "Not Welcome" Mat. He unlocked the door and silently ran inside. From where he was, he could hear two voices.
"He's going to come for you. Don't give up hope. He followed Hank and I here, I saw him!"
"Yeah, but the guy is scared of lighthouses! How can you be sure that he's even gonna build up the determination to even come in here?!"
Butchy smiled at the sound of Tessa's voice.
"Tessa? Tessa!" Butchy called.
"Butchy?! Is that actually you?!"
"Yeah, it's me!"
"Told ya he'd come."
"Whatever! Butchy, we's in the big open room where that creepy machine was!"
"I's on my way!" Butchy said, carefully running toward the room.
As soon as he reached the room, he saw Tessa and Bolt tied up on opposite ends of the mostly demolished Weather Machine.
"Tessa!"
"Butchy! I's so glad you's here! Now get these ropes off me!" Tessa demanded.
"I's workin on it!" Butchy said, beginning to untie the ropes.
Luckily, it only took a minute to get the ropes off, and Tessa had a black t-shirt, black leggings, and black boots on, instead of the red nightgown she had on the previous night. As soon as they finished, they started to leave.
"What about me?" Bolt asked.
"Oh, right! Sorry!" Tessa exclaimed.
So, Butchy reluctantly helped Tessa untie Bolt.
'I don't see why I have to help an Adder. But, I's not leavin without Tessa, so I may as well help out.' Butchy thought.
Once the ropes were off, an explosion rocked the lighthouse. Tessa squealed in surprise, and began to loose her balance. But that was before Butchy pulled her closer to him. As another explosion shook the place even more, Butchy reached out to steady himself, and Tessa. However, he didn't watch where he was putting his hand, and a shard of glass cut through his leather glove and cut his hand.
"Agh!"
Tessa gasped, and turned around to face him.
"Let me see."
"It'll be fine until we get out of here. Come on!" Butchy said, ushering Tessa and Bolt out.
As the three reached the door, another explosion rumbled the ground. They all ran the remaining distance to a patch of trees, where they were able to hide. Moments later, the entire lighthouse exploded. Once, the explosion stopped, the three were able to run down the path toward Butchy and Lela's house, where Lugnut was waiting.
Meanwhile at Big Momma's
When everyone heard the explosions, they ran out onto the porch of Big Momma's and looked at the lighthouse, which was now going up in flames. Everyone gasped, believing that their friends were still inside.
"I decided that the old thing needed to go. Even after spending 6 months repairing it, that thing still needed to go!" Speed said, following them outside.
"So that IS where you took Tessa!" Mack exclaimed.
"Sure. It was the only place I knew that Butchy would never think to go. Mainly cause he's such a scaredy cat."
"Butchy and Lugnut went up there to rescue both Tessa and Bolt, and you don't care!?" Lela screeched.
"Well, yeah! Tessa kept getting in my way, and Bolt is just a waste of space!"
"Waste of space? Is THAT what you think of my brother?" Lugnut asked, walking up to them.
"Lugnut!" Struts squealed, running and nearly tackling Lugnut.
"Oof! Don't worry, Struts, I's fine." Lugnut said when Struts went to say something.
"What about Butchy? And…and Tessa?" Lela asked, worried.
"We's fine too, Lela." Butchy said, also walking outside.
Tessa followed him out, and smiled at everyone. That was when everyone noticed one little detail. Both of them had a little bit of dirt on their faces, but Lugnut didn't.
"Um, Lugnut, did you even go IN the lighthouse?" Mack asked.
"No. I told him to stay at the house."
"What?! Why?!" Lela asked.
"I had to face it on my own."
"You's crazy. Those explosions coulda killed you's both!" Hunter said.
"Well, it didn't kill them, so there!" Mack said, with an attitude.
"What about Bolt?" Coral asked.
"He's fine." Lugnut said.
At that, Bolt came out.
"Bolt!" Coral exclaimed.
"Coral!"
As soon as Bolt got to the sand, where Coral was, he got tackled. By Coral.
"BOLT!" Speed snapped.
"You don't have to stay with him, Bolt. It's your life." Coral said, as soon as they stood up.
"You's right."
"Bolt, get over here."
"No, Speed."
"No? What do you mean, no?"
"I mean, I's not following your orders anymore."
At that, Bolt took off his leather jacket, waded it up, and threw it on the ground. Speed was officially infuriated.
"Bolt, I am not going to allow this. Get over here, right now!"
"No. I's not an Adder anymore."
At that, Bolt walked back into Big Momma's with the Rodents and Surfers. They were all patting him on the back, as Speed watched, both surprised and angry.
Well, I really hope you enjoyed this chapter! Let me know what you thought! Here's the question for this chapter!
When the bikers (Butchy, Lugnut, CheeChee, and Struts) walked into Big Momma's at the Shindig (in the movie), after Butchy told Lugnut that he was thinking, CheeChee then asked Butchy "how long is that gonna take?" What did Butchy say in response?
I can't wait for your answers! I hope you enjoyed the chapter! I'll try to update either Sunday or Monday! :)-Alyssa
