Well I'm just gonna leave this here. My half hearted romance attempt. Don't worry action fans next couple chapters will be something. Its time to end their little paradise!
Rin, wearing his handyman uniform, sat on Izumo's bed. He held a manga and seemed to be diving into its pages with delight. Izumo, wearing her wool pajamas, sat at the foot of her bed spreading a thin, transparent lacquer on to her toenails. She held a relaxed and passive expression. She was humming to a popular song that has been going around. Their two tails lay out on the bed. The tips gently fell into eachother.
Paku walks into the room stretching. She wore pink polka dot pajama pants and a black tank top. She yawns to the couple, "What's cooking?"
Rin replies still trying to read the manga, "Chicken."
She also asks, "And how are you cooking when we don't have a kitchen?"
"I improvised," Rin stated and then pointed to outside the balcony. A miniature grill brimming with blue flames was roasting cuts of chicken there.
Paku tilted her head into her right hand, and she brought her hand up onto her cheek. She sighed almost playfully, "I would comment about fire regulations, but the smell is almost too good."
Rin put down the book in his hand, and looked over to Izumo. Rin smiled at Izumo, "Do you like the smell?"
Izumo stiffens for a bit, and she looks at Rin. The quarter-demoness' face was pale, and a thin trail of saliva was trailing down her lips. Rin paused staring at her desperate face. There was brief battle in his mind between his current attraction and his desire to laugh.
Eventually, Rin let his smile win out and he started to laugh at her. Izumo, now flustered, jumped up in indignation. She pouted, "What are you laughing at!"
Rin wiped away a tear: "Nothing, Nothing."
"I'll get the food in just a second," He added walking to the balcony. Rin stepped out, and shut the door behind him. Now with just Izumo, Paku giggles, "You've been acting pretty cute lately."
Izumo's face now heated showed a nervous tick. She stuttered out to him, "I've noticed this…"
Paku, noticing how timid she uncharacteristically sounded, asked, "Is there something wrong?"
Izumo began to move her lips, but Rin suddenly opened the door. Her mouth suddenly shrank to a dot. Rin called out cheerfully to the girls, "Meal's done."
Izumo and Paku both smiled at the boy and set up a table for them all to sit around. He set up plates expertly. The group laughed and shared food for the neck half hour. Rin and Paku both enjoyed their time. Although Izumo seemed to have a good time, she kept a stiff and awkward demeanor. Paku seemed to keep a wary eye on Izumo, but Rin showed no signs of noticing her predicament.
As dinner ended, Paku looking at her friend suddenly made a half-baked excuse to leave. Now Izumo and Rin were left sitting in silence surrounded by dirty dishes. Rin stared at her with hesitation gripping his heart. He stuttered out, "I-I'll start with the dishes."
He stood up and collected the dishes. As he started to head towards their sink, he felt a sudden tug from his shirt almost making him drop the plates. Rin looked back at Izumo, who held the hem to his shirt in a death grip.
She refused to make eye contact, but she gently spoke, "Let me help."
Rin commented nervously, "Sure. No problem."
She followed him to their sink and offered to dry what dishes he watched. Rin silently began to set up the dishes. Out the corner of his eyes, Rin saw Izumo pull back her hair into a pony tail and slip on a cute pink apron. Rin stared at her stunned by her outfit.
She noticed his gaze and erupted in her usual nervous shouting: "What are you looking at?"
Rin smiled at her. The growing elation in his chest drove him forward. Izumo soon found herself in his arms in a deep embrace. Izumo let out a sudden gasp that sounded more like a "meep."
As just as fast as he hugged her, Rin let her go. He stepped back to the sink and started to wash the dishes. A nervous, yet broad smile made its way to Izumo's face. She stood a close proximity next to him and would take the washed dishes directly from his hands to dry them.
They continued for a bit, until Rin asked her, "You've been acting differently for a while today. You okay I-chan"
Izumo continued to dry, but her face became noticeably red. She looked at him for a bit before answering, "I've been worried about something for a while."
Rin finished the last dish, and passed it to her. She began to dry it while Rin closed the distance between them. Just an inch apart, the couple locked eyes. Izumo continued to explain her worries, "I've been feeling like I'm in love with you."
Rin blushed, but he managed to stay quiet. Izumo looked at him sternly. Her hardened demeanor suddenly began to crumble. She said almost shamefully, "But is that alright? These new feelings, these new senses. Are they real or is the blood in my veins making me feel like this? I'm not sure if I love you for you. Do you love me for me? Love shouldn't be this simple."
Rin grips her hand with his two interrupting her. A smile spread on to his lips: "You don't need to love me. I love you more than anything. I'm not sure what my demon blood means but I am me. You can do whatever you want, ya know?"
Izumo stared at him for a moment. With a sigh of defeat, she collapsed forward. Her head rested on Rin's chest, and Rin wrapped his arms around her. A big smile lay sloppily on his face as if he had just won the lottery. Izumo said in defeat, "As if an idiot could understand what I mean. You just gave out a random lucky answer."
After a moment, Izumo lifted her head to look at Rin. She seemed to be pouting at him like an unhappy child. She yelled at him, "Take me to bed! I want to sleep!"
Rin widened his eyes at her. He spoke out fearfully, "What? I'm not emotionally ready for that!"
Izumo slammed her fist into Rin's side with the force of Mike Tyson. Rin doubled over, but managed to keep his smile. A thin trail of blood leaked from his lips. Izumo looked at him wide eyed: "Are you okay?"
Rin responded while giving thumbs up, "Nice hook."
Rin ducked forward and wrapped his arms around her waist. In swift movement, Rin picked up his girlfriend. She laughed and Rin began to walk her to the bed. When he finally arrived, he brought her down onto the bed like a wrestler. He soon followed suite.
Izumo looked up at Rin, who hovered above her. His face was beet red, but he seemed to be drunk. Izumo's countenance reflected his own. Their lips slowly began to float towards each other. Their hearts quicken as the radius between them shrinks.
They finally fell into each other's arms and kissed. Whether the kiss was chaste, sloppy, energetic, or loving, they wouldn't remember at the end. Only the warm emotion flooding their chest was truly ever noticed. Perhaps a minute passed, or perhaps an hour; they couldn't remember. Once they were done, they fell onto a chair holding onto each other.
"Aren't you supposed to be working?" Izumo asks.
Rin shrugs, "Its mostly fake job for it anyway."
After staying in her apartment until ten, Rin left the house through the balcony. He was now holding his sword on his shoulders, along with his Gurkha blades. He jumped down several stories without a scratched and waved to her from below.
She meekly waved back before going back in to get ready for bed. Now Rin was tasked with finding a door with a key hole, so that he could use a Mephisto brand key.
Rin walked around the area until he found a small shed meant to store gardening supplies. Rin took a step towards the supply shed, but his full bladder had told him to stop. His own anxiety had prevented him from peeing at his girlfriend's dorm. Now that he had exited, the problem could no longer be ignored. Rin moved to a clumping of trees to relieved himself. In a flash, he stood behind an old pine and was beginning to take care of business.
Midway through a melody came to mind, and Rin decided to whistle it. Rin continued to whistle until he was done, and his clothes were back as they once were. Rin however noticed his whistling tune had continued despite his lips inactivity.
Rin looked behind him, panic written all over his face. There stood before him was Amaimon, who held candy in his mouth and several hobgoblins playing around him. A their eyes met, Amaimon asked his brother curiously, "Otuoto, your so gross. Spraying your human piss all over the place."
"Brother?" Rin grunted, "Who the fuck are you?"
Amaimon with a flick of his ankle was already in front of Rin. He grabbed Rin by his hair and spoke with bloodlust in his voice, "I'm your Nii-san!"
Amaimon brought Rin's head down lower and struck him with two right knees directly into the face. Following his attack, Amaimon tossed Rin farther from the girl's dorms. Rin plowed through many trees before being caught in the branches of an old cherry tree.
Rin fell unconscious for just a bit, but Amaimon was approaching him with a bloody grin. Rin weakly reached for his gear. As he soon adorned his mask, Amaimon's eyes widened in excitement.
"Oooh, Aniki told me about your scary little mask," The pointy headed demon stated, "I wonder how tough it is!"
Amaimon struck the tree, which Rin was laying on. The wood burst under his strength, and so the tree soon began to fall. Rin fell along with the branches kicking up mud and dirt.
Amaimon giggled at the chaos. He continued to laugh as a blue light illuminated from the center of the cloud of dust.
Rin shouted at him from afar, "BASTARD!"
Amaimon happily replied, "Come, play with me, otouto."
Its always fun to have a fight with your siblings, eh? It only falls from here. Remember to check out my other story I posted the link to in the last chapter.
