I landed gracefully and looked around; it wasn't late here, only around 1:30 in the afternoon. Hopping between countries was killing my internal clock. I glanced up and squinted before pulling my sunglasses from my bag, I was just off the side of the road me and Alice had raced down not even a year ago, Volterra stood tall and proud, I began my trek down the road, bag on my back and enjoying the heat.

After a while it became too much and so I cast a cooling charm along with a Notice Me Not and began to fly on my broom. I reached Volterra within 15 minutes and had to stuff my broom back in my bag before walking through the winding streets, I nodded and smiled politely and others returned the action, young children grinned up at me from buggies and their parent's arms and I pulled funny faces back at them making them giggle.

I was pretty sure I had gotten myself lost when I saw the familiar clock tower, I would have entered through the door but it opened and I saw a familiar face peeking at me from the safety of the shadows. I stepped inside and realized that it was Demetri, "We've been expecting you." He murmured.

I raised an eyebrow but followed him none the less. He led me through the reception area where the receptionist nodded to him and smiled slightly at me, instead of going to where I met the Volturi leaders last time we stood in the elevator and then walked down a long stone corridor decorated with a red carpet, lit by torches, various plants on small tables or on the floor and some paintings.

"Freshen up, put on something nice. Santiago will be here to guide you downstairs in a few minutes." He told me placing a key in my hand. I thanked him and then let myself into the room. It was nowhere near as big as my home room but still rather spacious, it would do. How did they know I would be here? Unless….Alice! That stupid bitch, no doubt Edward would have followed her here like a lost puppy meaning that the Volturi had gained two new members.

I growled slightly but when I realised that I had been standing there in my thoughts for five minutes I began to search for the perfect dress to greet the Volturi in.

Deciding that it was rather hot out but also cool down in the Volturi meeting room I slipped on a red flowing top and a pair of brown denim high-waist shorts that could only just be seen beneath my top.

There was a knock on the door just as I slipped on a pair of red heels, without a thought I slipped my wand into my shorts then I opened the door and turned to look at who I assumed was Santiago. He was a tall man with cropped dark hair and dressed in a suit. He nodded to me and then began to walk down the hall; I followed and paid no real attention to where we walked until Santiago opened a large wooden door.

I entered the spacious room inside I was a trembling on the outside however; my face was a perfected mask of confidence and cool indifference as I strode forward. My eyes darted round the room and I noted with contempt that Edward and Alice were stood in one corner dressed in black robes, Jane and Alec stood in the other corner. The three thrones stood proud in front of me Marcus to left, Caius to the right and Aro smack-bang in the centre.

"Isabella." Aro greeted with a smile slipping from his seat.

"It's Isabelle." I replied.

His smiled slipped. "My apologies Isabelle, you have changed since I last saw you, though still smell the same."

"No doubt." I murmured silkily. "Marcus," I nodded to the man, he gave back a barely discernible nod, "Caius." I hissed; the white haired Vampire gazed back at me with unimpressed eyes.

"To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" I snapped my eyes back to Aro who had gotten closer holding out his hand.

"You don't know?" I asked in mock surprise, "Surely Alice should have seen the reason for my visit." I smirked at the disdainful look the Vampire gave me. "Remember what happened when you tried to read my mind last time Aro?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the black haired man.

"Ah yes. Most extraordinary." He answered in a sugary voice before he could continue Caius cut him off.

"Just tell us why you are here."

"Is it wrong seeing that I know of your kind to want to learn more of the famous Volturi?" I asked just as rudely. Caius looked taken aback, Aro had a face splitting grin and I couldn't help the triumphant look that slipped onto my face when I saw I had even gotten Marcus to crack a small but amused smile.

"Well then stay for as long as you like Isabelle. I would be happy to indulge your request." Aro beamed.

I turned my gaze to Marcus, "You can stay." He murmured, it was spoken softly but in the silence of the room it rang loud and clear.

I finally glanced at Caius; who merely glared then growled and stalked out of the room, Edward and Alice following behind him. "I will talk to Caius, meanwhile, why don't you take a tour."

I nodded and watched as Aro left after Caius, Jane and Alec following. "I will show you around." I snapped my head round to see Marcus at my side, before I could say anything he was stood at the door beside Demetri gesturing for me to follow.

I moved towards the door and walked beside Marcus, I heard a slam and turned to see Demetri following, I offered him a small smile which he returned. "So Marcus," The Vampire turned to look at me with an eyebrow raised in question. "Do you have a gift?"

"Yes, I can see the bonds between people, so for example I could see how much you care for your family."

I nodded, "How old are you?"

"3365." He answered flatly. I was floored for a moment and stood stock still until I felt Demetri push me forward, racing back to Marcus' side I asked,

"What year were you bitten?" I tilted my head to the side now curious.

Marcus opened a door and I followed him into what I realized was a huge and I mean huge, library. Demetri went over to a bookshelf and scoured the shelves for something before picking up a book and beginning to read. I sat in one of the large arm chairs and Marcus took the one across from me. "Well?" I asked.

"I was changed in 1352 BC, 4 days before I was meant to turn 20. Physically I'm the youngest out myself, Aro and Caius. Though mentally I am more mature." He gave me wry grin. "I swear Aro has the mentality of a 4 year old when he wants too. And Caius, well he is like…an adolescent, an exceedingly bitter adolescent." He sighed.

"Why?"

"It's not my place to say." Marcus answered.

I frowned and the room was engulfed in silence before I broke it moving onto my next question. "Where do you all come from?"

"I came from Crete. Aro came from Athens and Caius came from Kalamai, which is also in Greece."

"I came from a small village in Crete." Demetri offered putting his book on a side table and standing before appearing in front of me and Marcus, he dropped to the floor and leant back on his hands.

I nodded, "What about you Isabelle? Where do you truly come from?"

"I come from England. I used to live with my family in our manor home."

"Used too?" Demetri asked.

"I lost my family to a fire during the first war."

"What war?" I stared at him blankly, not answering his question.

"What war?"

"A question to be answered another time."

"Why?" Demetri questioned. Marcus had stayed silent, no doubt listening to our exchange but not offering his own questions just staring at me with an unreadable expression.

"Because it is." I levelled him with a glare which he returned.

"That's stupid." Demetri muttered.

I responded with a 'hnn' a gazed into the empty fireplace. In my mind I pictured the gruesome scene I had witnessed at the age of 14, my eyes closed and I exhaled heavily through my nose; dispelling the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and pushing the crystal clear images back into their forgotten draw, I opened my eyes once more to find myself alone.

I wrote chapter 19 :D so what do you think?
