A\N HI! UPDATE!
So yeah, good news, i'm alive, and so does this story. It's been REALLY awhile since last update and i'm sorry. To put you in perspective, i got a lot of shit dropped on me (figuratively) and right after i dealt with that and had a bit of free time to recover myself mentally, and a new shit dropped, and multiply that by eight. Took all scraps of my free time, videogames and cartoons to keep my sanity intact. So yeah, wasn't really in any mood to write. Currently in-between shit again, but i had a lot of stories gathered in my head during this period, and it's time to start writing them down, since i don't want to disappear on you for a year. Gods know that this story is not that popular, and i don't want to lose you all as readers. I'm gonna try to put myself in some routine to have something written constantly (unlike this chapter that was written BIT by BIT throughout almost 5 months), and also i probably going to start another fanfic that i will update along, to have some diversity, maybe it will help me, since it's been more than two years since i started this one. I have 2 good ideas for one-shots and 1 for a multi-chapter one. Hope to see ya'll in review section.
And, as always…
READ AND REVIEW.
Disclaimer: I don't own Kim Possible.
Chapter 20
Silly distractions
Sweaty, drained and slightly out of breath, Ron dragged himself back towards Possible household. It didn't help that it was so early in the morning. Bonnie was a total slave driver lately. He had a slight suspicion that she was upset with him for some reason, but brushed it off to his imagination, after all, it was pretty tiresome spring break. His routine consisted of morning jog with Bonnie, shower, breakfast, voluntary work at soup kitchen, Kim almost begged him for that one, then going home for dinner, doing some of the break homework and finally dozing off until next to start it all over again.
Today was the first school day after the break, that didn't stop Bonnie from calling him with the first rays of sun and dragging him out for the jog. At the very least he managed to reach an agreement with her about skipping this morning workout on the PE schooldays. Loud yawn from him was a sign of not getting enough sleep. A thought came in about getting some nap during one of the classes, using a make-shift barrier with a book. The key for that was doing it during the specific period, with the teacher who doesn't give a damn. So, no snoozing off during Barkin's lectures, the lesson boy learned the hard way.
He sneaked in the house quietly, hearing sound of cooking from the kitchen. Ignoring a rumble in his tummy, Ron went to the bathroom upstairs. As he absentmindedly pushed the bathroom door, a high-pitched scream of the young girl attacked his ears. His self-preservation instincts kicked-in instantly.
"Shit! Sorry Kim! I haven't seen anything i swear!" he shut the door and his eyes, sweating from the sudden hit of anxiety.
"Ehm, Ron?" Kim herself, fully clothed, was at her room's doors.
"What? But…" boy was utterly confused, pointing at her, then at the bathroom, and back at her.
Kim just rolled eyes and knowingly walked up and opened the door, triggering a recording of her scream. Kim bend around and peeled of small speaker with a sensor built in.
"Tweebs!" she shrieked.
"Hicabica-boo." Jim with his brother peeked up around the corner.
"Hoosha!" Tim gave his twin high-five.
"Dudes. Not cool." blonde deadpanned.
"It's just a little prank for fun." Jim snickered.
"Yeah, hilarious one!" Tim chuckled and, along with his brother, ran downstairs.
"Ooh, i'll show them a little prank." Ron mumbled under his nose begrudgingly.
"That would be nice to see." Kim admitted, while pinching her nose. "But first you need to take a shower. You stink, buddy."
"Yeah, sorry." boy dashed into the bathroom, locking the door behind.

Bonnie was munching on the cold sandwich, bought from school's recently replaced vending machine, while observing her friend's bizarre behavior. Ever since he arrived in school he was deep in his own thoughts, mumbling under his nose infrequently, sometimes letting an evil chuckle out. Currently, he was sitting at the lunch table, furiously writing something in a freshly bought 24-page notebook. Bonnie's curiosity couldn't handle this anymore.
"Hey, Ron. Whatcha doin?" she asked, stretching some vowels for no reason.
"Oh, nothing much, just writing down my revenge plans for the twins to get them back for their prank." Ron said with a sweet smile, that contorted into when wicked grin the second he start writing in it again.
"Let me see." Bonnie snatched the notebook from his hands, ignoring his short protest noises, and flipped through the filled pages. "Well, those are fails on arrival."
"Oi!" boy got offended by such harsh critic on his work.
"Don't get me wrong, these plans might work on you average Joe but against twins, all of them will probably backfire on you."
"Seriously?" his shoulder fell a bit.
"Seriously." she nodded knowingly. "I grew up with twins, older ones, who could cast spells. I got first-hand experience in it. I can help you here."
"Really? Thank…"
"Upupup." she put her palm before him. "Not so fast buddy, if you think that i'll do it as a freebie after you've been bailing on me whole spring break you are gravely mistaken."
"But…"
"And morning jogs doesn't count, since you've barely able to wheeze out one sentence during or after it. And no, i don't care how much they needed you on that Soup kitchen, and i'm pretty sure it's illegal to make underage school student to work so long each day, and without any payment."
"It was a voluntary work and..."
"Kim's voluntary work." she cut him out, with a little venom in her words.
"No, Kim suggested it to me, i agreed, hence it was mine."
"And how much hours you agreed on initially?"
"Twenty total"
"And how much you end up doing?"
"Well i… forty" Ron sighed. "Well, they liked my ideas, and i like cooking for people so…"
"Stop making up excuses, what's done is done; the question is how will you make this up for me?"
"Uhm… "
"I know." she smirked, seeing his broken spirit. "How about you watching with me that DVD that Tara had lent me."
"Sure, yeah. I mean, i did kinda bailed on you last week…" he nodded in defeat.
"Great! I should ask Tara if i can keep it for a bit more though." she pulled out disc case from her bag to show him.
"Wait a second…" a cover of that DVD looked eerily familiar. As he remember the poster from Kim's room that had that exact image a realization of his current situation hit him like a truck. "Woah, hold on there! You played me!"
"What are you talking about?" Bonnie cocked her head to the side slightly, trying to look innocent.
"You aren't mad at me at all, you were just didn't want to watch THIS by yourself!" he pointed at her accusingly.
"Alright you got me, i ain't mad, maybe a little upset though, enough to rustle you jimmies." she put up a smirk again.
"Leave my jimmies alone, thank you very much. They've been rustled enough this morning by the twins"
"But still." she waved the DVD in front of him. "If you want my help with you little revenge scheme, you know what you need to do."
"Fine, i'll watch ~Moon Way of Sun Walk~ with you, ugh even the name sounds like it was badly translated from Korean or something."
"Sweet!" she exclaimed happily and stood up from their table. "I'm gonna ask her now, be right back. Keep writing in you ~revenge journal~ for now, just make sure to leave half of the pages clear for later."
"Yes boss-lady!" he saluted her with a pen.
As Bonnie started her walk towards cheerleaders' table, her confidence began slowly degrading, her shoulder's stiffen and face couldn't be more deadpan if she actually tried. This reaction was mostly involuntary on her part, like a reflex. One cheerleader she could handle, however, seeing the whole pack of them was giving the girl a small anxiety attack. Her stroll was slowing down as well; no one at the table even saw her approaching, until she was right next to them.
"Um…" Bonnie mumbled, feeling pressure as whole group looked directly at her.
"Hey Bonnie!" Tara smiled chipperly.
"Hey." she said in monotone. "Can I borrow you for a second?"
"Sure." Tara stood up, and followed young witch to the hallway.
After a solid five second of absolute silence from the residents of the table, one of them pronounced something most of them thought.
"What the hell was that?" Hope half-shouted. "Since when Tara is hanging out with the weirdo?"
"No idea." Kim's frowned.
"Ow come on, what's so big about it?" Marcella sighed, pouring some golden liquid in the thermos cap.
"I swear this hippie tea is messing with your head." Hope pointed at her accusingly. "Tara is a cheerleader, Rockwaller is a weirdo, it doesn't mix."
"First, it's not hippie tea, it's a ginseng one, and second, did you all forget what Kim's trying to do for the past months or so?"
"And i still say that blurring walls in Food Chain is ridiculous, i mean, what's the point of being a cheerleader if any loser could think he could talk to me?"
"It's not ridiculous." Kim interfered. "Students on the higher level of the Food Chain becoming way to full of themselves. I mean, look at me, up until recently i handle myself like a total…"
"Hope?" Crystal added teasingly.
"Hey!" an offended yelp got quickly overshadowed by a chorus of muffled snickering.
"Although, i must admit…" Kim's brows came closer to each other again. "I have no idea what could Rockwaller want from Tara."
"What about me?" Tara came back to the table.
"Team overreacting about you and Bonnie Rockwaller." Marcella said bluntly, sipping her tea.
"I wonder how wild did your imaginations gone before i came back?" Tara rolled her eyes, having her sit.
"What did she want from you anyway?" Kim inquired in suspicion.
"She just asked me if she can hold on the DVD i gave her for a bit longer, that is all."
"Since when you two are buddies? We never saw you two hang out before." Liz pointed out, getting nods of agreement from Liz and Crystal.
"Well, just before the spring break, me and Kim were at the mall, and i ditched her in the food court for ten minutes to check up the bookstore, and that where i met Bonnie. Turns out she's a fan of ~Bastion~ novels too, so we had a small talk about it, than i mentioned tv series me and Kim are watching, and since i had DVD on me i gave it to her. She's very fun to talk to actually."
"Yeah." Hope scoffed. "Next thing you say is that this moody little shut-in is actually a ray of sunshine."
"I wouldn't be that surprised." Marcella spoke. "I mean, she does seem more energetic when she's talking with her big-eared friend over there."
"His name is Ron." Kim pointed out instantly.
"Anyway…" Tara butted in before anyone realized strangely personal way Kim corrected her comrade. "Bottom line is - i made a new friend. She's fun, cool, and i want to hang out with her, if any one of you have complains, suggestion box is over there."
Her finger was pointing at the garbage bin nearby.
"I think her crazy is rubbing off on you." Hope said stubbornly.
"I don't mind." They heard from Marcella. "She's not as bad as people talk, and she did helped me before. So, if you two gonna hang out, call me too."
"Sure." Tara happily agreed.
Kim on the other hand didn't know what to think at the moment. On one hand it was good for her agenda for Marcella and Tara bringing people from lower stance in Food Chain to hang out with them, and on the other hand, she couldn't stop the feeling that Bonnie Rockwaller stealing another friend from her.
~(*A*)~
Later that day Ron found himself slouching comfortably on the couch at Rockwaller's living room, munching on some nacho chips. Bonnie was sitting cross-legged on the other side of that couch, bowl of snacks placed between her and her friend. They finished all preparations to get even with the twins for their prank, and needless to say it was good. Plan was really simple in theory, and, if it would work as intended, will ensure that Jim and Tim will think twice before trying to pull anything like they did this morning ever again. Once again Ron reminded himself NOT to piss off Rockwallers, unless you want some permanent physical and psychological scars.
As per the agreement, he was currently watching the notorious TV series along with his current closest friend. And, to his utter relief, it wasn't as painful as he thought. Their constant commentary and remarks on the current hottest teen TV program helped a lot. And, when it came to that, even Ron had to admit one particular thing:
"You know? This show ain't as bad as i thought."
"Ditto." Bonnie agreed with him, eyes glued towards TV screen. "I mean, it's not great by any meaning of it, but it's really entertaining."
"I know, right?" his hand grabbed more nachos from the bowl. "The lead is kinda bland for a tragic half-werewolf half-vampire, but…" *munch* "…support characters are really good, Styler especially."
"I agree, but that main love interest…" Bonnie let out a very unladylike frustrated growl. "She's so annoying! We're only on fourth episode and i already sick of her! He saved her life in every episode so far, twice in this episode and it's not even over yet, and besides that she does absolutely nothing but stealing looks at him. I mean, if i was on Ben Dover's place i would rather go after Molly, she kicks ass!"
"Yeah, but Molly doesn't resemble his old love from a century ago like Kelly does. And if i'm right and Kelly is her descendant, then the whole romance plot between these two becomes way too creepy."
"Like, trying to bang your crush's great-great-granddaughter."
Both shudder at the thought of it, while TV screen showed a scene of clear liquid burning the hand of protagonist.
"You know i always wondered how the Holy Water is made." Bonnie licked nacho flavor from her thumb and point fingers.
"Probably, by boiling the hell out of it." Ron answered nonchalantly, hearing girl's laugh, and instantly found himself laughing along.
"Having fun?" Ryan Rockwaller entered the room in his coat.
"Heya mister Rockwaller!" Ron greeted him cheerfully.
"Good evening, Ron." he nodded politely. "Would you like to join us for dinner?"
"No, he can't today." Bonnie intervened before he could answer anything. "He's actually going home right now."
"I am?" said surprised young man. "But we didn't finish the episode yet."
"You need to go now because…" she had a short awkward pause to gather her thoughts. "Because you need to execute your plan before the dinner, remember?"
"Ow, right." he lightly slapped his own forehead. "Totally forgot. Thanks for invitation Mr. Rockwaller, maybe next time?"
"Of course." man nodded.
"Come on, i'll see you out." Bonnie intentionally placed herself between boy and her fathers they walked towards the door.
"I'll call you late, to tell if it worked or not." he said, standing in the open doorway.
"OK, hear you later."
Bonnie watched him walking down the street for a bit longer than intended before closing the door.
"So. Have you talked to him about…" Ryan asked, hanging his coat on the foyer wall.
"No i didn't." she cut him off, trying to walk away from conversation by heading towards the stairs.
"Bonnie." he said sternly, but with a certain kindness inside, whichmade her stop on the first steps. "You can't avoid it forever. Boy has an unknown gift now, and the sooner we try to understand what it actually is the better it would be for both of you."
"I don't care!" she snapped at him. "It's been a freaking miracle that he didn't wiped his memory after the torture you put him through last time, and i don't want to scare away my only friend because you want to study its results!"
"Bonnie…" the hurt could be faintly heard in his voice. "I admit, i rushed things up, and i'm sorry, i truly am. But what's done is done, and either you want it or not Ron has powers now and for his own good, it shouldn't be left on its own, i know you understand it too. And also, you should trust more in Ronald. He is a nice boy, and won't abandon you over something like this. At least, that's how i see it."
Bonnie stood silently for bit, face turned away from her father.
"I'll call you for dinner." she said meekly, before running upstairs to her room.
~(*A*)~
Twins was busy working on their projects inside the mad engineering laboratory that was their room. Some of those projects were for the upcoming science fairs, some was for personal research, and a good chunk of them was developed with a thought of practical jokes they can inflict on others.
A knock on the door temporarily distracted both of them from their handiwork.
"Hey dudes." Ron opened the door, his half-opened back bag dragging on the floor, with him tugging the strap. "Can you do me a small favor?"
"It depends on the favor." Tim said.
"What's up?" Jim asked.
"I wanna take a short nap now, school literally drained every drop from me, could you wake me up just before the dinner? My alarm doesn't work for me lately."
"Sure." Tim nodded.
"Thanks." Ron said while yawning and wobbled to his room, still dragging his bag behind him.
As boys heard his door closing they noticed that their own door was still wide open. Muttering something under his nose, Jim went to close it, but stopped right before the doorway, noticing a sole notebook on the floor with ~Revenge Journal №2~ written on its cover with a sharpie.
"Hey Tim, look at this." he was snickering at the ideas of what this journal might be about.
"Is that Ron's?" Tim asked, getting a nod as an answer and grinning wide. "Open it up."
Notebook was filled with all kinds of different pranks ideas and plans of its executions. At first both twins found that amateurish and hilarious, however, as they read further and further into the book, their mood got darker, and soon was replaced with a worry. The first half of the pranks was the usual stuff the dealt with and done to many time before, however past that point the plans were getting much more devious, one scarier than another. Some of them, if Ron would choose to implement them, could result in twins being grounded for at least two weeks, without any way to properly explain themselves. And among all of those plans, the scariest was in the very end. It was very elaborate, and consisted of several stages. First three of those stages was written inside in great details, however, right after the third one there was a phrase:
~continue in the Revenge Journal №3~
Imagination was running wild at what could be those last stages of that prank, and how many more of those did Ron had.
"I think…we should ease up on pranking Ron from now on…" Jim said, almost stuttering at the beginning.
"Yeah, not because we afraid of him…"
"No, of course not."
"Out of respect to a fellow prankster."
"Totally!"
"We probably should put it back on the floor where we found it."
"After we make a copy?" Jim regained some of his confidence back.
"Certainly!"
After all, even if they won't prank Ron anymore, doesn't mean they can't apply his work elsewhere.
