Phew! This was a long one. Hope you all like it.

(Donnie's POV)

We were on patrol and I was still looking at Mikey in slight anger.

I still couldn't believe he did this.

Look, it wasn't just the fact that he took the mutagen and used my stuff without asking me. It was that Mikey could've easily killed himself.

He must have done everything right by total blind luck that night.

I would've told him he couldn't come with us to the dance just to teach him a lesson, but April already told him he could come with us. What could I do? It's April. How can I say no to my princess?

I'm also getting really impatient for the dance saturday night. I've been picturing slow dancing with April in my head constantly. Maybe, this was it. Maybe this is when I can finally make my move and kiss her.

We were about to call it a night when we saw the Foot Clan just below.

Leo gave us the signal to go down and we were closing in on the foot soldiers standing outside this building.

(Leo's POV)

I was about to say something when I was interrupted by a voice I knew all too well, "Look who finally decided to show up?"

I had to fight off the urge to smile. I turned around and drew out my katana and my brothers followed suit.

"I didn't know you were expecting us?" I reply in her same tone. Karai had her mask in place and I was wondering if she was happy to see me under there. "I had a hunch." She teased shortly as she drew her sword from its sheath.

We locked eyes for a second before she lunged at me and we quickly started clashing.

We kept exchanging slashes and trying to catch each other off guard with a kick or swipe here and there.

Eventually we locked our weapons and eyes and I felt myself succumb a little to her intense yet beautiful gaze. Then I saw her eyes shift to the side and I did the same and saw she was motioning to this alley about 5 yards to our left.

I knew what was going to happen and there was no way I was passing this up for anything.

We tried to keep playing it off that we were still fighting as we made our way to the alley. I was eager. We haven't been near each other in a couple days. We finally got into the alley and she pushed me against the brick wall of the building and took off her mask as she gave me that grin I've seen from her many times before.

"Hey." I decided to say and smile at her to break the silence. She just laughed lowly at me as she rested her hands on my shoulders.

Then she connected her lips to mine like lightning. I immediately wrap my arms around her.

({No POV})

Mikey knocked out a foot soldier and was about to turn back to the fight when he stopped dead in his tracks.

He froze and his mouth fell open in shock at what he was seeing right in front of him in the alley. Karai had Leo pressed against the wall and Leo had his arms secured around her as they were making out.

Her hands were moving through his hair and in the process causing his mask to skew slightly off from its place on his face.

Eventually Mikey was able to regain his composure slightly and walked away, looking mortified by what he just witnessed.

(Leo's POV)

Karai and I were in the tenement again.

After our thing in the alley came to an end, she told me to meet her here.

We were both laying out on the floor panting. I was just staring at her, still totally locked in. She's beautiful and looking at her whenever I can is a temptation I can never resist.

She came closer to me and started to teasingly draw aimless circles on the exposed skin of my chest. I shuddered at her touch as her finger tips left goosebumps in their wake.

I was by some miracle able to take off my shirt before she cut it off me herself tonight.

I'd rather avoid mending my shirt again and have my brothers asking any questions. Donnie looked suspicious and I'm pretty sure he knows that I've been seeing Karai again. I just hope I can still trust him not to tell anyone about this.

"So… I have to go back to Tokyo for a couple days to run some… errands for my father. I should be back on Sunday sometime." She says.

I grabbed her hand that was tracing across my skin and sat up to look at her. I used my other hand to caress her face. She was a total contradiction. She had such a sharp and mysterious personality, but her skin was so soft, smooth and inviting. Almost as if it was porcelain.

"I'll miss you." I tell her honestly. I will miss her, desperately.

She gave me an amused grin before putting her fore and middle finger under my chin and kissed me surprisingly lightly. She pulled away and leaned into my ear and whispered, "Meet me here at Midnight Sunday night." Then she kissed me again one last time. I was savoring this one.

After this, I'll have to go 5 days without her.

Karai sprang up and got to the window. "Until next time... Leonardo." She said, flirting and slightly teasing me at the same time, before blowing me a kiss. She chuckled at me as I pretended to catch the kiss in my hand as I grinned at her. Then she put on her facial armor and leapt out the window.

I still wonder what she thought of that last time when I gave her the rose?

I did it for many reasons. One was obvious, I love her and I wanted to give her something as beautiful as I think she is. I wanted to try to be romantic.

Reason two was more tactical. I wanted to fight fire with fire. Karai likes to play games. She loves to mess with my head and confuse me to no end. It gives her some sort of satisfaction. So, I'm playing my own little game with her. Well, it was a game for me too. A challenge if you will.

Can I get Karai to put down her defenses and walls so I can win her heart?

That's my number one goal in life right now. I want Karai to let me in and let me be her boyfriend. Then, maybe I can tap into her inner good that I know she has deep down and convince her to join our side. I won't stop until I make it happen.

Karai's heart will be mine if it's the last thing I do.

(Raph's POV)

Again, my life is awesome.

I got the coolest girl I've ever met to be my girlfriend and I get to bust heads in my spare time. My life can seriously not get any better.

I was reading a comic book, but then I just ended up watching Mona do her Physics homework. She realized I was looking at her and smiled at me as she rested her head against my shoulder. I smirked.

Oh yeah, life's good.

But, it's also weird. Mikey hasn't said anything all day and he usually never shuts up. He looked like he was in some weird trance. All he says if we ask him what happened is that he saw something.

I saw Mona looking at Leo sitting in front of the TV, squinting at him.

Then her eyes went wide and then she looked at April who was also doing her homework. Mona crumpled up a piece of paper and threw it at her. April looked at her confused as Mona made a gesture to the area just below the corner of her jaw and then pointed at Leo.

I had no idea what was going on.

April looked at Leo and her eyes went wide and her mouth opened slightly in shock. April looked at Mona and they both got up and walked over to an area next to Leo.

Leo slowly looked at them and said confused, "What's going on?"

"Leo, what's that?" Mona says teasingly pointing to the area below the corner of her jaw again. I was just as lost as Leo right now.

"What's what?" He says, still totally lost. Then Mona pulled something out of her pocket and tossed it to Leo. It looked like a mirror thing. Mona then pointed to that same place again with a teasing grin on her face. Leo looked at what she was pointing to and his eyes went wide.

I'm still not following this.

(Leo's POV)

Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no…

"Its… Its nothing." I stutter and toss her mirror back and walk away, wanting to avoid the subject. I tried to avoid looking at them too to avoid further humiliation. Mona looked at me in a teasing manner but April was looking at me suspicious and then her eyes widen and then kind of narrowed at me.

"Leo, please don't tell me that is from her." She says putting emphasis on her and me knowing exactly who the her was.

"Uhhh… What if, I said… yes." I say sheepishly and laugh nervously. Then April slapped me across the face, rather hard if I might add.

"April, what the heck is wrong with you?! I thought we just going to tease him." Mona says, thinking April was overreacting.

But April ignored her and said, "Leo, are you out of your mind?! Karai, seriously?!" "April, calm down. Let Leo have a say in this. Also, who's Karai, Leo?" She asks me almost sweetly if I dare say it.

I took a deep breath. The last time I did this, April hit me with a rolled up magazine.

"Karai... is a highly skilled kunoichi… from the Foot Clan." I say quickly. Mona's expression faltered and then she, in turn, also slapped me, even harder than April.

"What is wrong with you?! Do you not remember what they did to me?! Look at this!" She yells and parts part of her hair to show the scar from the night Raph brought her here injured.

"You're seriously involving yourself with a girl from that group of evil, low life…" "Mona, just…" "I mean seriously Leo?! What is wrong with you for liking…"

I snapped and shouted, "I don't care what you all think of her! I don't care if she's in the Foot or Shredder's daughter! I care about her!"

I froze and felt regret at what I just blurted out. I wasn't supposed to say that. Everyone froze and stared at me, even Donnie. I never told him that about Karai.

"She's WHAT?!" They all shout at me. I didn't know what to do so I just ran away with everyone yelling at me to come back. I wasn't in a mood to argue. I can't listen to them saying anything more against her.

At least not to my face.

(Donnie's POV)

We were all in a state of shock.

Even I was shocked and I knew about him and Karai. Leo definitely left out that crucial detail on Karai. I mean, it was one thing that she was in the Foot Clan, but being Shredder's daughter on top of that… I have no words.

I looked and I saw Raph get up and make his way to the dojo. We got to the dojo and saw Splinter meditating.

Raph then said, "Sensei, we have a problem." Raph then told him what Leo just told us. Leo's involvement with Karai and her being Shredder's daughter. But, Splinter did something I wasn't expecting him to do.

All he said was, "I see."

We were all waiting for him to continue. "You see what? Sensei, we have to do something! We need to stop Leo before that manipulative little witch gets her hooks into him!" Raph says looking agitated.

"Actually…" I start and sigh. I guess it's time they all knew. After all, Leo was the one who put it on the table. I told them everything I knew, all the way back to that time Leo came home several months ago with no mask and his arm bandaged.

"You mean you knew Leo and Karai had a something going on this whole time, and YOU NEVER SAID ANYTHING?!" Raph yells outraged.

"Hey, I didn't see the point in it. I didn't want to spill that information and ruin all our ties during that time when Leo might have snapped out of it." I say in defense.

"Not that I agree with this whole situation, but I agree with what you have done Donatello. Making a larger thing of the situation will only bring more complication. It's like I said before, Leonardo is not the first young ninja to succumb to a skilled kunoichi such as Karai. A cousin of mine back in Japan was in a similar situation to Leonardo's. He fell in love with a kunoichi from a Clan closely affiliated to the Foot Clan." Splinter explained.

"I just don't understand why Leo would fall for Karai?" Raph says still perplexed and angry.

"Raphael, there are many explanations for this situation. She may be deceiving him or perhaps they both have feelings for one another." Splinter explains further.

"Karai actually liking Leo? I highly doubt that. She's totally heartless and incapable of feeling anything." Raph says totally not understanding Splinter's logic.

I didn't know what to think.

"If I may say something, I don't know Karai at all, but if I was to guess why this is happening; I'll just take a shot in the dark and say Leo could like her due to a variation of the Bad Boy Complex. In Leo's case; however, the situation is reversed in terms of gender roles." Mona says, making sense to me in this confusing situation.

"Are you defending him?" Raph says confused. "No, I'm only offering an explanation." Mona replies with a shrug.

"You are fairly correct in your statement, Mona. Many young ninjas fall for kunoichis from rival clans for multiple reasons. But the main one is a need for adventure and excitement, a thrill of the chase, and then she eventually would make a move to turn on him. But, if Leonardo has been involved with her for the past several months, it seems like Karai may not be taking the path of leading him to his fall if she's gone on this long. It's mute point. They both may have their reasons for involvement with one another. We all don't know for sure. So, you all must promise not to aggravate this situation and leave Leonardo to his own devices when it comes to Karai. It is best Leonardo handles things on his own accord. Do you understand?" He says and looks to all of us.

We all agree, but Raph still looked angry that sensei is doing absolutely nothing about it. But I was willing to let it slide.

What are we supposed to do? Tell Leo he can't see Karai anymore? He has free will and it also isn't any of our business. What happens between him and Karai is entirely Leo's concern and there really isn't anything we can do about it.

(4 days later)

(Leo's POV)

We were making our way to Mona's.

Although it was probably weird the way we were getting there. It doesn't matter whether we're mutants, humans, or whatever; we were still going from building to building as our still ideal method of travel. This would probably make more sense if we were dressed for patrol, but we were dressed up; literally.

Mona brought us clothes to wear to the dance since she probably didn't trust us to pick stuff out on our own. This was the first time me, Mikey, and Donnie have ever dressed up ever. It felt so weird, but I did look pretty good.

I was in a black button up shirt and black dress pants and blue tie. I could tell by what we were all wearing that she was trying to stick to the color scheme we were all attached to since infancy. It is weird how we're all weirdly attached to our colors. It bothers me if I don't have blue on me somewhere. Again, it's a weird complex all of us have.

Also we all learned how to tie a tie from Splinter earlier. Luckily he still remembered how to do it after not wearing one in almost 16 years.

We all split up to go get the group together.

Donnie was going to go to April's, Mikey was coming with me to get Mona and then we were all going to stop by April's friend Irma's house since she was closest to the high school.

We all still have no idea who she is. But if she's April's friend then she's probably pretty cool.

(Donnie's POV)

I felt nervous as I walked up to April's building and rang the bell to be let in.

My hand was shaking as I reached for the button. A buzzer went off and I was let in. I got to the top floor and got to April's apartment.

C'mon Donatello, confidence. Be confident. I knocked on the door and I felt my heart rate go up as I saw the door knob turn. The door opened and I was face to face with April's dad.

He was looking at me strangely.

"Hello Mr. O'Neil, I'm here to pick up April." I explain. "I'm sorry, you just seem so familiar." He says expressing his perplexed state.

"You know me, sir. I'm Donatello, my brothers and I helped you and April several times in the past." I explain. "Weren't you a… well you know?" He says confused as to why I look human.

"Long story short. I was a turtle, I performed an experiment and now I'm human. Trust me, I have 23 pairs of chromosomes and everything, sir." I say and we both let out a laugh.

"Please, come in." He says, smiling at me and letting me inside.

I've always liked Mr. O'Neil. Not just because he's April's dad but he's a fellow scientist, like myself, and he's always been very nice to me and my brothers.

We kept talking as I waited for April.

(April's POV)

I walked out of my room and heard Donnie and my dad talking.

Well, looks like Donnie's ready to head out.

I got to the living room and saw Donnie standing in front of my dad and I just looked right at Donnie. I knew Mona had something to do with how Donnie was dressed. Which isn't a bad thing. Mona has pretty good taste. Donnie was wearing black dress pants with a purple button down shirt, black tie, and a black vest over it.

Wow, Donnie actually looked kind of… handsome. I'll admit that. Then both he and my dad noticed I was there. Donnie grinned at me and I couldn't resist smiling back.

"Hey April." He says and grabs his left wrist with is right hand as he rocked back on his heels a little nervously. "Hey Donnie." I say and walk over and hug him. He's one of my best friends, I have to.

"Ready to go?" He asks me, still grinning that very Donnie smile. "Yup." I answer simply. "Allow me." He says and offers his arm to me, over playing the chivalry on purpose. "Much obliged." I reply in the same tone as I link my arm with his as we both laugh.

But then I looked at my dad and I unlinked my arm and hugged him.

"Bye dad." I say. "Bye April, you kids have fun." He says and then I go back to Donnie who was still holding out his arm to me with a smile. I smile as I relink my arm with his. "Stay safe, take pictures." He calls out at us on our way out.

"Don't worry sir, I promise she'll be home safe by 11:30." Donnie calls back over his shoulder as I shut the door on our way out. We were in silence as we walked down the stairs.

"You look very pretty tonight." Donnie compliments. I saw his face turn red but he was still smiling genuinely at me. I blushed a little too.

"Thanks. You clean up nice too." I reply back. Donnie really did look kind of endearing in some sort of way dressed up like this. He continued to grin at me as we walked outside my building and saw Mona, Mikey, and Leo waiting there.

Mikey and Leo also cleaned up pretty nice. I will say that much.

After that, we walked to Irma's. I was a little nervous. She didn't know any of the guys and she's only met Mona like once. I just hope she doesn't get too freaked out by Mikey's overly outgoing attitude. Don't get me wrong, Mikey's the nicest guy ever. He's just a little… unique.

He makes Donnie seem not quirky at all. But, I like Donnie's quirks. It makes him who he is.

We got to Irma's building and she was already out front waiting for us. I told her about the guys before they were human but never mentioned they were mutant turtles previously. There was no reason to tell her. I just told her I met the guys at martial arts training which actually seems pretty believable.

She looked at the guys in slight shock that these were the guys I hung out with.

"Guys this is Irma. Irma these are my friends from martial arts: Donnie, Leo, and Mikey." I say, making introductions and the guys were totally cool with her. Which I was happy about. Irma's been my best friend since we were in 3rd grade.

"Alright! Let's do this!" Mikey says and runs off. We all just laugh, except Irma. She looked a little perplexed at Mikey as he did a flip off a building in his state of excitement. "What's up?" I whisper, leaning over to her. "Is that guy okay?" She asks, looking confused but somehow curious about Mikey's behavior.

"Don't worry, it's just Mikey. He's harmless. Unique but totally harmless." I assure with a smile. As we caught up to Mikey, I noticed that I was still holding onto Donnie's arm. But, I didn't mind. It felt nice. Besides we're going to dance, so why not?

We got into my school and made our way to the gym.

Mikey looked around and the expression on his face looked like he was in the coolest place he'd ever seen. "This... is... EPIC!" Mikey shouts and disappeared somewhere on the floor in the crowd.

"So, are we just going to stand around or are we going to have fun?" Mona says over the music and then immediately dragged Leo out with her. Leo looked back at us and shrugged before just rolling with it.

I look at Donnie and he waved his hand out to motion to the floor and smiled at me. I nodded as we walked out onto the floor and started to just go with it. Donnie and I started dancing and I was having so much fun that I forgot how much of a crappy friend I was that I totally forgot about Irma.

I looked behind me at her standing there awkwardly. I was about to do something when Mikey just came out of nowhere and grabbed her wrist and pulled her out onto the dance floor and looked like he was trying to encourage her to dance with him. I smiled a little.

I really appreciated him being nice to Irma. All the guys really.

People are just so awful to her most of the time and think she's weird. Which is why I am friends with no one but her at school. I don't like hanging out with people who pass shallow and superficial judgements on someone who is genuinely a good person.

Then I saw something that I haven't seen in a long time. Irma was smiling.

I seriously need to thank Mikey for being so nice to her.

I glanced around and saw Mona and Leo dancing. Then I noticed something that I caught when we went to the movies with Donnie and Leo last Friday.

For some reason, girls really seem to like Leo.

I don't really get it. I see him as nothing more than a brother, but I guess I'd consider Leo to be good looking?

Then I caught something that made my hair stand on end and made me grit my teeth slightly. Across the gym with her focus zeroed in on Leo, was Melany McGavin. She was this girl in my grade who is part of the popular crowd, so to speak, and she is such a superficial, mean… I need to stop.

I mostly hate her because in middle school, especially middle school, she would pick on Irma constantly.

Leo seemed totally oblivious. Well, at least if something happens where Melany tries to take Leo, I know Mona will not let that happen over her dead body.

Look, Mona's smaller than me, but even I'm intimidated by her.

I went to the bathroom and I was checking to make sure I didn't look like a total mess.

"Hey April." I heard next to me. I grit my teeth but maintained my composure.

"Hey Melany." I reply curtly. "Um, quick question, who's the guy with dark hair that came with you?" She asks, with a somewhat flirting tone in her voice thinking about Leo. "You mean Leo." I reply to the point.

"Fitting. He looks like a Leo. Also, that girl he's with? Are they like a thing?" She asks, slyly.

"No, Mona's dating Leo's brother. But, he couldn't make it, so Leo came with her." I half lie. Raph can't be here for obvious reasons.

If you ask me, if the world were fair. I'd throw out Melany and let Raph come with us. Unfortunately, that's not the case.

"So… he's available?" She asks, putting emphasis on the last word. There is no way I would let her anywhere near Leo. Nor I think would Leo want to go out with her anyway after his confession several days ago.

I still wasn't totally keen on the idea of Leo's involvement with Karai. I still think he's insane actually. But, I think I actually hate Melany more.

"Leo's situation is... complicated." I allude. "I'll take that as he's single." She says and I saw her purse her lips slightly. "Trust me Melany. You don't want Leo." I tell her and walk out. I didn't want to talk to her anymore.

I walked out and saw Donnie waiting for me and then we walked back into the gym.

(Donnie's POV)

Fate was not on my side tonight.

The moment April had to go to the bathroom, a slow song played while she was in there and we missed it. We haven't slowed danced yet tonight and there was only like 40 minutes left of the dance!

I don't even care if I have to bribe the DJ. I'm going to get at least one slow dance with April if it kills me.

We got back into the gym and noticed almost everyone gathered in a huge circle. April and I looked at each other as we pushed our way through the crowd and we heard yelled over the music, "Booyakasha!"

Of course it was Mikey.

It was Mikey and this other guy.

Mikey was showing off his mad skills as he puts it. But this guy and Mikey just kept one upping each other with certain break dancing moves. This is like one of Mikey's dreams come true. I've actually been watching Mikey practicing sometimes and I've been picking up on some of the moves. The other guy stepped up and did a couple flares and then looked at Mikey initiating the challenge.

Mikey just grinned and started to up the ante. This was a move he's been doing a lot lately; air flares and then decided to punctuate it with windmills. This was something we all knew how to do from training. Everyone couldn't believe what Mikey was doing. Say what you want about Mikey, but he really does have some mad skills for these types of situations.

Mikey sprang to his feet and then was right in the guy's face, in the moment, taunting, "Booyakasha, son! What?!" He kept on taunting until the guy just walked away and disappeared out of the gym.

All the while that that happened, April and Mona were cheering him on.

Then it was as if my luck came around and I felt like exploding when a slow song started.

I look at April and she put her hands on my shoulders and I put my hands on her waist. I can't believe it… I'm actually doing it! I'm slow dancing with April!

I felt like I was in heaven as we moved in our own little circle on the floor. April looked at me, smiling and then she rested her head against my chest. I bit my lip trying to keep myself from freaking out. Life is so awesome.

Then April looked up at me and our eyes locked. I was so mesmerized by her beautiful eyes alone.

Go for it… Kiss her!

I was slowly but surely leaning closer to her and I could have sworn she was reciprocating my action. We were so close when Mikey ran by us looking beyond freaked out and sprint out of the gym.

I was about to internally throw a fit about Mikey ruining my almost first kiss with April and in general, when I saw that Irma was left alone looking slightly hurt and confused.

I looked down at April and saw the distress in her expression as she looked at Irma. As mad as I was about having April and I's moment ruined, I couldn't stand to see April upset.

I sighed and decided to do something. My brother did something to cause this to happen and Irma was April's best friend, I have to fix this.

(April's POV)

I was about to do something when Donnie said, "I got this."

He walked away from me and walked up to Irma and said something to her with that friendly smile on his face. Donnie put his hands on her waist and Irma slowly put her hands on Donnie's shoulders. I saw him continue to talk to her and I saw Irma slowly start smiling and Donnie even got her to laugh. Eventually she rested her head on Donnie's chest.

Donnie then glanced at me with a grin and mouthed at me, "She's okay." Adding the okay hand gesture with his hand.

I was taken aback but slowly smiled in return. But inside I was conflicted somehow. I didn't know what to think about what just happened. I just stood still as random thoughts raced around my head.

We all walked back and there was still no sign of Mikey.

I felt a little mad at him. Why would he just ditch Irma like that? There is absolutely no reason why he had run away from her freaked out. I wanted to ask Irma what happened, but I knew this wasn't something to bring up again in front of everyone.

I am going to ask her later though and then possibly reprimand Mikey for ditching her.

Raph actually met up with us and took Mona the rest of the way home, Leo went back to the lair to see if Mikey was there, and Irma was already at home, she still looked a little off as she walked inside her building.

I was still resisting the urge to ask her what happened. Seriously, what could have happened to make Mikey freak out and run away? Irma is by far the most harmless person to walk the Earth.

It was down to me and Donnie.

Donnie was trying to keep small talk going with me, but my mind was still going in a million directions.

I kept thinking back to what he did. I didn't know what to feel or think. He didn't have to do what he did? Why did he do it? I really like Donnie, I care about him a lot… But ever since he became human, things just went from easy to complicated with us.

Donnie gave me a hug and walked away as I walked inside and up the stairs to my apartment.

I felt like I was so lost in a trance that I barely noticed my dad saying hi to me as I walked in.

I whip my head to look at him. "Oh, hi dad." I say back. "Did you have a good time?" He asks, smiling at me and turning off the TV. But my mind was thinking back to everything that happened in the past 2 months.

"April?" My dad says concerned as to why I wasn't responding. "Oh… yes, it was fun." I say and try to smile normally. I could tell my dad could see the perplexion that I was going through internally.

"April, what happened?" My dad asks concerned. I looked to the side and tried to walk to my room, but my dad cut me off. "April, honey, what happened?" He asks me concerned.

I try to shrug it off and say, "It's nothing. Besides, it isn't worth bothering you about it."

"April, I'm your father. It's your job to bother me when something is bothering you." He says and makes me sit with him on the couch. "Now, just tell me what happened?" He says and rubs my arm in a comforting manner. The gesture helped me relax a little.

I just told him about everything that happened.

Besides, what do I have to lose? I trust my dad and he usually gives me helpful advice. One of the advantages of having a dad who is also a psychologist.

"Were you upset about Donnie doing that?" He asks, referring to me telling him about when he danced with Irma after Mikey just cut and ran.

"No, and that's the problem. I don't know what to feel about any of this. I can't blame anything from any of this on anyone. It's not Donnie's fault because he literally incapable of fault. I just… I don't know?" I say, frustrated and look at the floor.

I feel like I'm at my wits end.

The room almost felt like a vacuum.

"April… I think it's time." My dad says before he gets up and walks out. I watched him walk away, totally confused. Time? Time for what? He walked out from his room and he was holding something in his hands and handed it to me tentatively.

It was an envelope with my name written on the outside of it and the handwriting looked so familiar to me for some reason.

"What's this?" I ask, totally in the dark. "It's from your mother." He says. It felt like time froze.

Mom…

"When?" I say, not understanding what was happening. "She wrote that in her last days in the hospital for you and told me to give it to you when you seemed like you needed her help." He explains to me and I just stared at the envelope.

My hands were shaking slightly.

I look up at dad and he smiled a little and just nodded at me as he motioned to the envelope. I look at it again.

I needed to be alone to read this.

"Can I go to my room, please?" I ask. "Go ahead, night hone." He says and kisses the top of my head before I leave and head to my room.

I felt as if I stepped through the looking glass as I stared at the envelope and sat on my bed. The last thing I had left from my mother. It was taking everything in me not to cry right now as I slowly and carefully opened the envelope.

I took a deep breath before taking out the letter and started to read.

Mom… I really hope you have something that can help me out.

So many questions... What happened to make Mikey freak out? What was in the letter April received? All will be answered in time. Thank you guys so much for reading. You are all the best.

Have a good one,
