Worth It
"No way!" Ino shrieked, jolting backwards. "Naruto actually proposed!"
Sakura nodded with a smug smile. "See, Ino-pig, I got engaged before you!"
"Oh yeah, well guess what, Sai's gonna propose to me too someday!"
"When? When you're both old and wrinkly? Or when you cast your strange jutsu on him to make him propose to you?" she teased with a bite.
A vein bulged out of Ino's temple and her temper snapped. "I'm not that desperate, Forehead!"
In the background Sai and Naruto remained quiet, trying their best to stay out of their girlfriend's quarrel with each other.
"So, it's official now then, huh." Sai languidly spoke. "You and Sakura."
"It's always been official," Naruto mumbled. "Just without a ring."
The pale ninja merely smiled. "Are you sure she's worth it? I mean, are you sure she's the person you want to settle down for?"
Naruto's eyes softened dramatically, developing a small twinkle of admiration and infatuation. His lips edged a small contented smile. Despite her temper and deranged sense of humor, he couldn't see why she couldn't be the person to tie him down for the rest of his life.
After all, ever since the Academy, he's never looked at any other girl with such admiration, like he did with Sakura.
"Yeah, she's worth it."
