Prompt Number Twenty One: Yesterday

Flora sighed. She had got dressed in her nightclothes and got into her bed three whole hours ago.

But she couldn't sleep. At all. She tossed and turned, hoping that being comfortable would help her fall into slumber. But it didn't. Her efforts were wasted.

Yesterday's events still played in her mind, even a night later. She was hurt and angry with Stella. She never expected her friend to stoop that low.

The guy unnerved her. He made her cringe. He was so... forward. She hated it.

Flora knew Stella loved matchmaking, but did Stella really think that she, an introverted Nature Fairy, would fall head over heels in love with Joe, an extroverted Red Fountain student?

"Flora, dah-ling, meet Joe. Joe, meet Flora," Stella introduced.

"Hi, Flora!" Joe greeted. He was already stepping closer to her.

"H-Hello." Flora tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

He had brown-blond hair and lush green eyes. And those green eyes were travelling all down her body. He may have looked gorgeous, but he was too... frightening. In a weird way.

"Do you wanna go out somewhere?" he asked.

"Uh, oh, OK," Flora replied uncertainly. She looked at Stella, who smiled innocently and waved her off. The blonde girl mouthed, 'Have fun, Flora!"

Flora turned back round to face Joe, who was already waiting for her a couple of metres or so away. She rolled her eyes. Joe smiled brightly, beckoning her. She reluctantly followed, not sure that she liked this guy.

Flora knocked on Stella's bedroom door. When she heard Stella's reply, she opened the door.

"Stella, did you know Joe before you set us both up?" Flora asked, closing the door after she stepped inside.

"Yes. He's a friend of Brandon's. Did you like him?" Stella asked, oblivious to the accusing tone in Flora's voice.

"No. He was too forward. He kept touching me - in awkward places. I didn't like it. I told him to stop but he wouldn't listen. So I left," Flora explained.

"But... I thought... that it would be best for you to have some intimacy in your life. I thought that if you had Joe, you would... express yourself more." Stella sounded ashamed.

"But Joe was... he kept trying to touch me, my legs, my thighs. And he wouldn't take no for an answer. So I had no choice but to leave him," Flora murmured.

"That's how Joe is," Stella replied.

"Then did you really think that we would go well together? Him being forward and me being... well, shy?" Flora said in her soft voice. She looked straight at Stella, not wavering.

"Look, I'm sorry, OK? I didn't think he'd be that forward. I get that you didn't like him. Sorry for, y'know, putting you through his potentially wicked ways," Stella said, grinning madly at the end.

Flora shook her head fondly at Stella's attempted humour, though she tried to keep a straight face. "Just... try not to do it again, K?" Flora said, smiling at this point.

She held her arms out, and Stella stepped forward to hug her. "Forgive me?" Stella asked.

Flora chucked. "Just this once, yes."

A/N: OK, I'm sorry for taking so long to update. Remember how last chapter (or the chapter before) I said about feeling down and all? That's the reason for this chapter too. So please bear with me while I sort myself out and get my life back on track. And even if I do, I'll still have to study and all so there's that too. Thanks a lot, for the support. Knowing that people enjoy this motivates me somewhat to write. So thanks again.
