OMG I'm so excited this the end of the first story for season 1 of Dark Shadows!
Zila's POV
Rumple forced me to sit down on the bed in the back, since I almost fainted. How I could sense Henry falling into the Sleeping Curse was beyond me, maybe it was a side effect after waking up from one. Before the curse was casted Regina had threatened to kill my daughter and like any mother would I chose to sacrifice my life so my child would live. Luckily Red, Granny, and the dwarves had found me and I had been taken back to Maurice's castle, there Rumple woke up with our own true's love kiss.
"How are you feeling dear?" my husband asked as he came up to the bed with a cup of coffee, Decaf thank goodness.
"I'm a little better have you called the hospital?" I inquired. Rumple nodded and took a seat on the bed next to me.
"I'm afraid your intuition was correct Henry is under the sleeping curse" a growl escaped my lips at the mention of this. Even though I wasn't related to Henry by no means, I did love that little boy a lot. I scooted over to Rumple so I could be close to him, my head went into his shoulder just as he kissed my hair.
"Everything will be alright dearie that I promise"
Enchanted Forest
Prince James was lucky he managed to escape the Evil Queen's castle thanks to a man that called himself "The Huntsman". However now he seemed to be going in circles, and was getting frustrated.
"Lost are we?" James grabbed his sword in alarm as he turned around to see Rumplestiltskin sitting on a log in his travel attire, his wife Zila stood beside him she was wearing that same blood dress with the black corset, and black long fingerless gloves that went to her elbows, her hair however was in a braid which sat over her right shoulder, her arms were folded across her chest.
"What are you two doing here?" James asked the couple.
"We're just here to help" Rumplestiltskin answered.
"We'll no need, I'll be fine" James argued before turning around to leave.
"James this is the Infinite Forest, Regina used her magic to bring you here to delay your search for Snow, Rumple and I can get you out of here" Zila said getting James to look at her.
"I want nothing from your husband Zila" James said politely.
"Not even this?" the Dark One said holding a ring in right hand.
"My mother's ring it was just, how did you get it?!" Charming demanded.
"The same way I get everything I want magic" Rumple began as he finally got off of the log he had been sitting on. "The same magic that allows me to do this" Zila's husband flipped the ring in the air before catching it once more.
"This ring is now enchanted the closer you get to Snow White the brighter it will glow interested?" the Dark One asked while he folded his hand towards his chest.
"Give it to me" Charming said trying to make a grab for the ring.
"Ah! It's not something for nothing dearie, time to make a deal"
"NO! No more deals!" James had enough he drew out his sword and he swung it at Rumple, who ducked to avoid getting sliced. James's blade suddenly met with Zila's Masamune while Rumple watched in amusement, this was going to be good. Charming made a swing at Zila who suddenly disappeared, as he looked around the immortal woman called from behind him.
"Over here!" James rushed towards her and the music of blades filled the air. Both Charming and Zila were talented, Zila then disappeared again, she tapped Snow's true love gently in the back and commented.
"Persistent"
Charming removed something from around his torso before he attacked Zila again. Zila easily spun dodging his jabs; she conjured another sword and used it to knock the one of James away from his hand. Zila then rushed at Charming and punched him hard in the gut causing the Prince to fall over in defeat. Zila's blade now pointed at Charming's throat.
"So brave, so gallant, so pointless" Zila began.
"Bravery won't get you out of this forest dearie, magic will trust us this is a deal you want to make" Rumple continued as he came to his wife's side, he placed a kiss against her cheek for a well done fight.
"What's that?" Charming inquired from the ground.
"For you and Snow to be together" Zila answered as she withdrew her Masamune from her friend's throat.
A Minute Later
"Behold the most powerful magic of all true love" Rumple said he held a clear flash containing the potion he had created from Snow and Charming's hair.
"So that's why you wanted my cloak to make that" James said nodding at the flask.
"Exactly this all that Rumple has left of it, that's the thing about true love it can slip through your fingers, it must be protected at all costs"
"It must have taken you awhile to learn to love him Zila" James said to shape shifter.
"Most certainly though I don't think Zila liked me at first" Rumple confessed giggling. He whined a second later because Zila smacked him hard on the head.
"Bloody hell dearie that hurts" the Dark One whined as he rubbed the spot where the immortal she-wolf hit him.
"I don't understand what is it exactly you want for me to do?" Charming asked Rumplestiltskin.
"I want you to protect by putting it in safe place for me" the Dark One replied conjuring a pretty gold and silver jeweled egg container, he placed the potion inside before closing it.
"And where's that?"
"Inside the belly of a beast" Rumple said while giggling, he tossed the egg to Charming who easily caught it.
"Why hide it?" he inquired again.
"Let's just say Zila and I are saving it for a rainy day" Rumple said before his wife snorted in amusement.
Storybrooke
Zila's POV
I finally had the energy to get back up so I stood with Rumple behind the counter, the door opened to the shop, and both Emma and Regina came in. I sensed a change from Emma, which only meant one thing.
"Do my eyes deceive me or is that a look of a believer?" Rumple said as he came to my side.
"We need your help" Emma stated.
"Indeed you do it seems the quite tragic ailment that has befallen our young friend" Rumple began.
"You should know Regina, that all magic comes at a price" when I addressed the Queen her eyes widened.
"No, when did?" the mayor said but I interrupted her.
"My memories returned a couple days ago, now what is it you two need?"
"Henry still shouldn't have to deal with the price" Regina growled.
"Point exactly you should your majesty but alas we are where we are" Rumple added,
"Can you two help us?" Emma asked.
"Of course" both Rumple and I said together.
"True love Ms. Swan the only magic powerful enough to transcend any realms and break any curse luckily for you, I happen to have bottled some" Rumple explained.
"You did?" Regina asked horrified.
"Oh yes, from strands of your parents hair, I made the most powerful potion in all of the realm, so powerful that when I created the dark curse, I placed a single drop on the parchment just a little safety valve"
"That's why I'm the savior that's why I can break the curse" Emma said.
"Now you're getting it" Rumple replied back to her.
"I don't care about breaking the curse all I care about is saving Henry" Emma added.
"Which is why it's your lucky day I didn't use all of the potion I saved some for a rainy day"
"Well it's storming luck a bitch where is it?" both Emma and I questioned in unison. My memories were still a little foggy which is why I asked.
"Where it is, isn't the problem getting is what you should worry you" Rumple replied to us both he had smirked when I also asked the same question at Emma.
"Enough riddles what do we do?" Regina demanded now getting impatient.
"You do nothing, it has to be Ms. Swan" Rumple answered turning to Regina.
"He's my son it should be me" Regina protested.
"With all due respect Regina but it's her son and it has to be her she is the product of the magic, she must be the one to find it" I said to Regina who gave me a whatever look.
"I can do it" Emma said.
"Don't trust him" Regina started to argue.
"What choice do we have?" the blonde asked the Queen.
"That's right dearie what choice do you have?" Rumple taunted Regina; I gave my husband a warning growl to not push it.
"Where is this magic?" Emma asked to me and Rumple. My husband turned to Regina and inquired.
"Tell me your majesty is our friend still in the basement?" Regina's faced paled as he asked this.
"Oh you twisted little imp, you hid it with her!"
"Oh not with her, in her, I knew you couldn't resist bringing her over" as Rumple finished my eyes widened.
"Who is her?" Emma said confused at who we were talking about.
"Someone who you should be prepared for, where you are going you will need this" Rumple then opened the case that was in front of it. Inside was Charming's sword, Emma's eyes widened before asking.
"What is that?"
"You're father's sword" Rumple answered. The next thing that happened Rumple handed me over my Masamune, which was in its scabbard.
"Zila will help you she is very skilled are you alright with that love?" my mate asked turning to look at me as did Regina and Emma. Smirking I took my blade and strapped it onto my back before replying to my mate.
"Bring it on"
Later
After the little meeting I hurried back home so I could change into something that I felt was battle worthy. I now stood over Henry's hospital bed dressed in the blue dress Belle had given me to wear to Mary Margaret's party a few nights ago; underneath I had on a pair of black leggings, along with my black boots. I wore my black leather jacket, while my hair was in a braid hanging off of my right shoulder, on my hands I wore black fingerless gloves so I could wield my sword without blistering my hands. I pressed a kiss against Henry's forehead before I hurried out of the room so Emma and Regina could have some alone time with him.
I stood in front of the entrance to the library waiting for Emma to show. Twenty minutes later Emma finally walked towards me, with a saddened look on her face.
"What happened?" I asked the blonde.
"August returned to wood" the savior answered me. I walked over to my friend and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Everything will be alright that I promise" I said hopefully to reassure her. Emma suddenly gave me a hug which caught me off guard; however I simply chuckled and hugged her back.
"Isn't that thing heavy?" she asked nodding at Masamune on my back.
"Not really you get used it over time" I replied just as Regina finally came up to us with her many keys and she unlocked the library for the first time in twenty-eight years.
"Has this place really been locked up all this time?" Emma questioned after Regina turned on the lights.
"Yep, perhaps Belle can run it after the curse breaks" I said just as Regina had opened a door in front of us, which revealed an elevator.
"Get in you two" Regina ordered us.
"After you" I growled at the Queen still not trusting her.
"It's a two man job Zila, I have to stay up here and lower you two down" Regina explained, I only rolled my eyes as I entered the elevator first.
"And we're supposed to trust you" Emma added while she came towards me.
"I don't think you two have much of a choice in the matter" Regina countered.
"This battle we're supposed to fight who is it? What is down there?" Emma demanded.
"An old friend"
"Then why don't you go to talk to them?" Emma said looking back to Regina.
"Because her punishment here was different than everyone else's, I trapped her in another form, she doesn't want to hear from me, you just have to trust me on that" Regina answered.
"Okay Zila and I will down there, but let's be clear about something your majesty the only reason you're not dead is because I need your help to safe Henry, if he dies so do you" Emma threatened her step-grandmother.
"Well, let's get on with it, here's what you two need to do"
A few minutes later both Emma and I were being lowered towards the basement of the library ready to face none other than Maleficent.
Enchanted Forest
"I hope he survives mate of mine, because Maleficent isn't a woman you want to piss off or yet alone face" Zila said to her husband as the two watched as James finally make entrance into the Forbidden Fortress.
"He's smart dearie he'll succeed" Rumplestiltskin answered his wife; the immortal couple was quiet for a second until both felt Maleficent had changed into her dragon form.
"Here we go" the mated pair said as one.
Storybrooke
Emma and I finally made it to the bottom of the library, the blonde opened the gate up and I went out first with her following behind me. The two of us walked cautiously into an underground cavern, I carefully took out Masamune while listening for any signs of life.
"What the hell?" Emma said suddenly, I turned to see what she was looking at. In front of us was Snow's glass coffin the dwarves made her.
"Beautiful isn't the dwarves made this so your mother wouldn't fade away with time" I explained as I touched the glass coffin in front of me. Emma didn't say anything she only backed up and hit something. An emerald green eye with a black slit in it opened.
"Emma behind you!" I shouted to the savior just as the cavern began to shake, I hurried over to the blonde and grabbed her just as Maleficent moved and breathed a stream of fire, once the fire was gone the black dragon looked to us both looking pissed off at being woken up. Emma I could tell was both shocked and surprised. Emma and I held our swords out in front of us as Maleficent snarled, Emma then said.
"To hell with this" as she dropped her sword and began to fire bullets at Maleficent which got me to almost laugh, however I only I leapt onto Maleficent's huge back. As Emma continued to fire her gun at the dragon I pushed Masamune deep into the dragon's black scales, which got Maleficent to roar in pain. Maleficent still had her eyes on Emma spitting flames at her, while I took out Masamune from the dragons flesh. The silver blade was stained with the dragon's blood; I quickly put Masamune back into its scabbard and held on tightly as the ground beneath Maleficent broke.
Both the dragon and I fell into the darkness below, Maleficent then spread her huge wings and flew up to where Emma was. I quickly jumped off of Maleficent's back, I hurriedly ran over to where Charming's sword was, and tossed it to Emma who caught it. Then I phased into my wolf form, since my memories returned I was back to my huge wolf size like I had been in the Enchanted Forest, I got in front of the savior and snarled at Maleficent ready to protect Emma.
Hospital
Jefferson's POV
I couldn't believe Regina screwed me again, after all of the crap I went through for her. Henry's condition worsened as I keyed in the code to the asylum where unstable patients were kept. I knew something Regina had kept hidden, and I intended to free it.
"You're tea" I said handing over the nurse a cup.
"Thank you, what's the commotion upstairs" she asked taking a sip of the warm liquid.
"There's a sick boy who took a bad turn" I said back to her.
"How tragic is there?" she suddenly fell asleep on her desk, which was a result of my drugged tea.
"Of a recovery, doubtful" I replied to her out cold form, as I grabbed a jacket, and the set of keys. I walked past one of the patients on work duty and told him to not make a sound by placing a finger up to my lips. I came to the door I was looking for and unlocked it. Inside a young woman in her early twenties perked her head up, she had fiery red hair and pretty blue eyes. I held out my hand to her as she got up.
"Come with me" I said to her as I helped her off the bed, she definitely was confused.
"Who are you, why did you unlock my door?" she inquired at me, she had a bit of an English accent.
"My name is Jefferson and I need your help to do something I can't, in town there is a woman named Anthea Star, find her all you have to do is tell her where you've been and tell her Regina locked you up"
"What?" I felt bad for the woman she was indeed very confused.
"It's very important Anthea will protect you but you need to explain Regina locked you up, she'll know what to do, do you understand?" the girl nodded.
"Yes I have to find Anthea Star"
Enchanted Forest
Charming came walking towards Zila and Rumple, he looked tired but he succeeded with the task Rumple had given him.
"Impressive dearie, very impressive indeed come warm yourself" Rumple complimented.
"I have done what you two have asked return my ring to me" Charming demanded.
"Of course you're in a bit of a rush" Rumple said while handing his wife the ring. Zila held out the ring to her friend.
"With these ring Prince Charming you will find her and good luck" the she-wolf said. Charming took the ring from Zila and said.
"Thank you both" Charming said as he walked past us towards his horse.
"Something's missing" Zila suddenly said as James turned to look back at the she-wolf. Zila then used her magic, crimson smoke formed around James for a second before it faded. The Prince was now dressed in all red including a cape.
"Now you're ready for your big moment" Rumple said pleased at his wife's magic performance.
"Why do you want us together? What do you two get out of it?" Charming inquired at the Dark Couple.
Zila snorted as her husband shrugged before replying.
"We're fans of true love dearie, and more importantly what it creates"
Storybrooke
Emma fired another rounds at Maleficent which didn't work. Like before I leapt back onto Maleficent's back, I clawed my way towards her long neck and bit hard into it. Maleficent didn't seem to notice me biting her; she was still focused on killing Emma. I spat out the hot blood that had entered my mouth when I had bit the dragon, Emma fired another few shots before she looked at her father's sword and then back to Maleficent.
"ZILA GET OFF OF HER!" the blonde shouted to me. I hurriedly got off of the dragon just she hissed more flames at Emma, both the savior and I jumped over a few rocks before we both turned to the dragon.
"HEY!" Emma said just as Maleficent was about to hiss more flames at us. The savior then threw her father's sword as hard as she could towards Maleficent, the sword hit dead on into the dragon's chest. Maleficent then suddenly began to glow like fire and she finally exploded into ash. Both Emma and I turned away so we could avoid getting ash into our eyes. I finally returned to my human form, and walked over to what was left of the dragon and picked up the egg container.
"Got it" I said to Emma as I came back to her.
"You're wolf form is really beautiful by the way" Emma complimented me as I handed her over the egg. I blushed as I helped her up and the two of us headed back to the elevator. The two of were quiet as the elevator pulled us back up the library, well until the elevator suddenly stopped.
"Regina what the hell was that! Regina!" Emma shouted above us. Regina's head suddenly popped into the elevator shaft as did Rumple's.
"Ms. Swan, the elevator got jammed, can you two climb up here?" my mate asked.
"Yes we can" I called to duo, I turned to Emma.
"Emma give me the egg, I'll toss it to Rumple" I said to the savior who nodded. Once she gave me the egg I climbed out the elevator first.
"Here catch love!" I shouted to my husband as I threw the egg towards him, he caught it easily with one hand. The climb up wasn't hard for me, when I reached the top though both Regina and Rumple helped me out of the elevator shaft. I hugged my husband as Regina helped Emma get out of the shaft after me.
"How do you feel dearie?" my husband asked me as he pressed a kiss against my mouth.
"Bloody tired" I replied before I suddenly got to the floors on my knees in pain just as Regina and Emma's cells rang.
"Sweetheart what is it?" Rumple asked as he helped me back up.
"Something's happened to Henry, I need to go with Emma and Regina please mate of mine" I answered my mate. Rumple nodded and he pulled Masamune off of me before I followed both Emma and Regina out of the library.
Athena's POV
Like I expected the curse was weakening. I was at the back of my shop working on an herb item so I could sell it later; I heard the bell to my shop suddenly ring. I wondered who wanted to come and see me, since I wasn't open for business at the moment.
"Excuse me are you Anthea Star?" an English voice inquired.
"Yes I am but I'm afraid the shop's closed" I answered whoever it was, as I looked up however my heart suddenly froze. In front of me was my long lost daughter, I thought she had died a long time ago, before I started practicing magic my daughter had been taken from me and I hadn't seen her since, Regina had once said to me that my Diana had come looking for after her captivity in another realm only for her to say my beloved child had died. My daughter came up to me and asked she was under the curse.
"I was told to come find you and to tell you Regina locked me up" I slowly came from behind the counter and walked up to her, I touched her shoulder to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
"You're real, you're alive" my daughter gave me a confused look. "Regina did this to you?"
"I was told you would protect me" I suddenly broke into tears and hugged her.
"Yes I'll protect you"
"I'm sorry but do I know you?" Diana inquired at me as I released her. I looked at her with all of the love I had.
"No, but you will"
Rumple's Shop
Zila's POV
I walked into Rumple's office with tears flowing uncontrollable down my face. My mate looked up from his work table and noticed how upset I was.
"Oh sweetheart I'm so sorry" my husband said once he limped over to me and brought me into a much needed hug.
"He was already gone when we got there, I couldn't stand seeing Henry lifeless" Rumple then started to kiss away my tears, while he stroked my hair.
"Hey" he said suddenly which got me to look at him. He pulled out a flask that contained the potion he had hidden so long ago.
"It's time we bring back magic to this realm dearie and once we do I can help bring Henry back what do you say?" all I could was nod.
Hilltop
"How much longer until we get to the well mate of mine?" I asked my husband as I followed behind him, shivering despite the leather jacket I had on.
"We're getting close sweetheart" Rumple answered, he had one hand intertwined with mine, while he gripped his cane with the other.
"Holy S**t!" I suddenly exclaimed as I felt the air around us pulse, Rumple had to catch me because I had lost my footing. Both my husband and I looked at each other for a moment before we both smiled and embraced. Emma had just broken the curse and I sensed Henry was okay.
"She broke it finally the bloody curse is over with" I said grinning like an idiot. Rumple chuckled before seizing my lips against his. I happily responded by using my tongue to beg entrance into his mouth for a brief French kiss, Rumple obliged and our tongues met with a quick dance before we stopped.
"Let's get magic back mate of mine" I told my husband smirking evilly.
"As you wish my beautiful she-wolf" Rumple teased me back.
Athena's POV
I felt the curse break the moment it happened. Diana who had been looking around my shop suddenly looked at me.
"Mother?" she asked.
"Yes it's me" I replied to her smiling, I came from behind the register and the two of us embraced.
"I finally found you, I'm so sorry for keep you waiting Mom" my daughter apologized. I kissed her red hair and said back to her.
"Nothing will separate us now my darling nothing"
Zila's POV
Rumple and I finally got to the well, I was glad because my damn feet were starting to hurt. Rumple helped me up onto the platform that the well stood on.
"These waters below are said to have the power to return that which one has lost" Rumple explained as he handed me the potion.
"So by dropping this into the water magic will be resurrected" I finished as I opened the flask up and dropped it, into the well. I took Rumple's hand into mine as a breeze caused our hair to fly back, purple smoke then began to escape the well.
"Damn this smoke is bloody thick" I said as the mist headed towards town.
"I really missed magic, I can't wait to have our powers back love what about you?" my husband asked as he looked to me. I could flash a smirk at him in response.
Narrator's POV
As the purple mist hit the town of Storybrooke, the residents were confused. Emma and Henry watched from a hospital window, while Regina smiled evilly as though she were excited, Charming and Snow who had found each other again both held onto one another as the purple smoke surrounded them, the cloud of magic rose high enough to the clock tower which now read 8:15.

I will start writing Season 2 when I can since I have things to do this week, I don't have a backstory for Athena and Diana yet, but I'll eventually address it in later stories. In Season 2 both Zila and Rumple adjust to living in the modern world with magic, as well facing new threats. Also a mysterious new visitor wil enter Storybrooke. Stay tuned for "Dark Shadows" season 2!
