Chapter 21

Lizzie and Gordo laughed a lot during the next hours, deep down she really hoped that they had seen the last of Gordo's ex-girlfriend but somehow knew that Brooke probably wouldn't give up that easily but she wouldn't succeed if they would stick together as a team. A little while later they had finished their main courses, both of their glasses were half full and Lizzie then said: "No matter what happened with Brooke tonight this has been a great evening so far." Gordo smiled at that shortly, obviously very glad to hear that and of course he had enjoyed the time with her tonight too so far, also he somehow wished that this wonderful evening would never end.

Of course he kept asking himself why Brooke was so hell bent on tearing them apart: Was it just out of jealousy or did she maybe still love him and realized that cheating on him had been the biggest mistake that she ever made? He pushed those thoughts away for now, because no matter what option was true he knew for sure that he couldn't trust Brooke anymore and in the end there was no guarantee at all that things between would work out this time. Getting together with Lizzie was something that he had wanted for a very long time, he also had been very jealous of Ethan for a long time even if he and Lizzie had never become something like a real couple in the end but he saw him as serious competition anyway. Then the waiter returned to their table to give them the menu cards again, so that they could choose a dessert, which proved easier than done because of the fact that there were a lot of great desserts to choose from so it would probably take some time to narrow this big list down.

Meanwhile back at the house of the Fisher's Ryan was of course very busy with moving some of his clothes into his closet, but mentally he was still thinking about the encounter with that nice girl from the neighborhood and he had to admit that she kind of looked very cute even if he just had met her today. He never had been that kind of person who believed in love at first side, but after today he maybe had to think about this topic otherwise: Maybe that "cliché" was right at the end and people really fell in love with each other at first sight. Of course he didn't fail to notice that she had been drooling for a short moment, even if she had tried her very best to hide it from him and that could only that she too had felt instantly attracted to him and he hoped that they would see each other again very soon.

Wednesday would be that little Introduction Event at the High School, of course he still missed his friends back at Denver but on the other side he was also looking forward to open a new chapter in his life here at Hillridge and he was pretty sure that he wouldn't feel so much homesick anymore very soon. Next door Ryan could hear how the helpers from the moving company were getting some furniture in the house and place them in the room, while he meanwhile had a look around in his new room which seemed a little bit boring right now but he has convinced that this would change very soon.

Back at the restaurant Lizzie and Gordo had ordered their desserts and while they were waiting for them to arrive at their table Gordo said: "Because I really want to try your pasta too that you had originally prepared for tonight, we can maybe save that for a little dinner some other day if you're okay with that of course?" Lizzie smiled at great suggestion from Gordo and didn't hesitate much with a reply: "That's a very good idea but right now, I don't know about you but I'm really looking forward to my Banana Split."

"Of course I look forward to eat my dessert too and are you excited as I am about seeing the High School on Wednesday for the first time ever? Gordo said and he was glad that two of the most important people for him were starting this first year of High School with him: his girlfriend and long-time friend Miranda Sanchez, who hopefully would also find her Mister Right very soon.

Gordo had persuaded her to go to their favorite Italian Restaurant instead of doing the second try of their first real date as boyfriend and girlfriend at the Mc Guire's residence and of course she had hesitated to agree at the beginning. But knowing her that good for such a long time Gordo had found the right words to say, like that he was very well aware that she was a little afraid of Brooke ruining their evening again but he really wanted to give the date at Luigi's a second try as he somehow felt that the events at the first time there were his fault.

"I'm really looking forward that Introduction Event on Wednesday too and also it's going to be nice to meet some new people there." She replied and got lost in Gordo's eyes for a moment, never had she looked at them that way in the long that they had known each other because she had always considered him to be nothing more but a friend. In the end that big adventure they had in Rome they had been an eye opener for her, she never regretted acting on instinct alone as she kissed him on that roof top on the last day of that eventful trip and even if it had taken a little longer for her to realize she finally able to put all the pieces together in that one magical night: Saying all that special things to her in those moments where she had needed him the most , had been Gordo's way of cryptically saying that he liked her more than as a friend.
