Hey everyone, I am so sorry for the delay in this chapter and hope you all can forgive me. I've let important things slip through in my life during these difficult times and I didn't ever want my fanfic to be one of them but I didn't succeed. I am so sorry again. I am trying to end the year on a high note so I am posting an array of updates tonight which I hope you all enjoy. I hope you enjoy this chapter and I will try not to be so long again.

Thank you so much for all the reviews, you're just the best and even my cat Patch thinks so too. Thanks.

Enjoy and please review

All mistakes are my own

Reid didn't move as he allowed a deep sense of calm to wash over him. A month had passed since he had found out the motives behind his attack. Garcia had left the hospital but was still recovering. He'd barely left her side since his return from New Orleans. Morgan had brought along her test targets, Reid had used his hands to see how well she had done but feeling where the holes were and was immensely proud of her and although he would never admit it, a little scared of her. Out of the love, friendship and care he felt, the fear of being at the end of her barrel barely registered half a percent on the scale of things.

Garcia and himself were both staying with Morgan. No-one had dared suggest otherwise either. Morgan kept a close eye on both of them and had treated Garcia like a queen during her recovery.

He could hear her breathing next to him on the bed. His heart still raced slightly from her rushing into his room in a panicked state.

An hour earlier

"Reid!"

Reid startled as Garcia's voice pierced his slumber. He felt her soft hands touching his face and checking his body. He immediately grabbed her hands when he heard her sobbing and pulled her gently to sit down on the bed.

"Garcia, what's wrong?" he asked as he managed to put his arm around her.

"A-Are you okay?" she cried as she used her now free hands to feel his stomach again.

"I'm fine," he assured her. "Garcia, I'm okay. What happened?"

"I'm sorry," she shuddered. "I had a nightmare. I thought he got you. H-He was cutting you and y-you were begging him to stop. You didn't have any arms or legs. I was screaming at him, but it was like there was an invisible barrier. I-I couldn't save you.

He hugged her closer and kissed the top of her head. "He didn't get me," he soothed. "The team and you saved me and he's in prison where he can't hurt either of us again."

"Can I stay with you tonight?" she asked. "I need to make sure you're safe."

Reid turned to his side and reached out to make sure she had enough of the duvet covering her. "Sleep tight."

A few days later

Reid didn't know why he had his eyes closed as he played the piano, but it helped him as he continued. Having his eyes closed made the memory of what a piano looked like sharper, as if, when he opened his eyes, he would be able to see it. He would never master the piano, but it helped keep him focused on getting back to a normal life. Ethan had taught him the first new skill he had learned since losing his sight. He stopped playing when a small hand tugged at his shirt. "Uncle Spencer."

Reid turned around on the stool and reached out, Henry's small hand took his and guided it to the top of his head. "I'm here, Uncle Spence."

Reid smiled at the sound of Henry's voice and the understanding in it. He wanted to see Henry again, if only for a moment, to see the smile of his godson, his blond hair and see the hope for the future in his young eyes. "What's up, Henry?"

"I made you something. Can you come with me?"

"Lead the way," Reid said as he put down the piano lid and rose up from the stool.

Henry's small hand grabbed his and began to lead him into Rossi's garden. This is where they were spending the day after Rossi had invited him over. Henry was currently on holiday from school and Will had been more than happy to bring him over. Will was currently watching a sports update and Reid could faintly hear the occasional curse. The rest of the team, including Rossi, were joining them later after work.

A small swift breeze met his skin as they came into the garden and mixed with the soothing warmth of the sun. He sat down in the seat that Henry had guided him to.

"Mommy helped me make it. I hope you like it," Henry said before letting go of his hand.

Reid listened as his godson's footsteps walked away before returning a moment later. A wooden cube was placed in his hands. He turned it over in his hands, noticing each side had symbols in different textures. He focused on one side and realised the symbol was in mandarin and represented strength.

"Each side is a different language but the same word. Since you can't see, Mommy said we could use different textures. Do you like it?"

Reid continued to feel the box and found himself lost for words. It was such a beautiful gift and it brought him so much joy. "Henry, I love it. Thank you so much. This means so much to me."

Henry's small arms wrapped around his chest as far they could. "Don't worry, Uncle Spence. I've got your back. I'm so glad you like the present."

Reid let out small chuckle and held Henry close. "You are such a wonderful thoughtful boy and I am such a proud godfather."

Morgan let out a small yawn as he made his way to the bathroom. He would have loved to have spent ten more minutes in bed but the BAU awaited him and he'd catch hell if he was late.

He stopped when he heard small sobs coming from Reid's room. Walking quickly, he opened the door to find Reid clutching the present Henry had given to him and crying.

"Kid, what's wrong?" he asked as he came to the bed and knelt down.

"It's stupid," Reid shook his head.

"Nothing is stupid when it comes to you," Morgan said. "Why are you crying?"

"I had a dream."

"Was it another nightmare?"

"N-No," Reid hiccupped. "It was such a beautiful dream and it felt so real. I dreamt that I could see again. I can't forget with my memory so details about this house have always been there. In my dream, I woke up and I could see. The sun was shining through the windows and I could see some dust floating in the air illuminated by the sun rays. I could see the light grey walls, the wardrobe in the corner and so much more. I was so happy and then everything went dark slowly. I tried to keep hold of everything, but it just disappeared and then I woke up to the darkness again. I woke to reality. It was such a wonderful dream but it's one that'll never be true for me."

Reid took a deep breath before continuing. "I just started crying because I think the dream overloaded me. I'm holding this because it keeps me centred. Henry gave this to me and I will make myself worthy of every symbol on this box."

Morgan reached out and put his hand over Reid's. "It's okay to cry. The world is making so many advances that you may see again one day. It may be a dream now but maybe one day we can make it a reality. You don't need to make yourself worthy of those symbols. You already are worthy of every single one."

"I'm glad I have you all to support me," Reid smiled as he wiped the wetness from his cheeks. "I don't know what I would do without you."
