Heart of a CPU

Kariya groaned as he rested in his apartment. He never expected to come back here again but his Servant insisted. According to her, she refused to sleep outside like a piece of trash. She then called him a jackass for even thinking about it, saying his health was important to both of them, for her goal and his. The man let out a sigh as he turned his head to the small TV. A small man was running through a castle while avoiding balls of flame that were launched from the mouth of a green turtle monster. He didn't exactly understand the importance of such a thing but his Servant demanded it for her services.

'At least she understands what we have to do.' He thought as he looked down at the Command Seals on his hand. His thoughts were broken as sorrowful music began to play from the TV.

"Bullshit," a woman swore as her hands twitched in anger, "it was no where near me!" She yelled as she stood up. She was a young woman looking like she was in her mid to late teens. She had light sandy brown hair that was covered by a white hat. The hat had light blue ruffles that went towards a large brown and gold circular headpiece. A light blue ribbon was wrapped around her neck lightly as a dark gem of blue sat neatly in the centre. A white dress with brown markings sat lightly on her petite body. Lying on the floor was a shoulder less jacket of white and blue with brown fur near the upper parts of the sleeves. A white ribbon was neatly wrapped around her leg that soon met powder blue and white sandals. "Dumb game." She muttered before she sat back down and prepared to play again. "Thank you for the console, by the way Kariya."

"No problems." He said before he coughed lightly. The worms inside of him were slowly getting agitated due to the anger the woman could unleash. It was as if they were scared of her and wanted to escape from her blue eyed gaze. "Didn't you beat that yesterday though?"

"I did, but I want to know what else exists in this game." She stated as she rushed through the first level, not even caring about they power ups or the enemies. "How is the girl by the way?"

"Sakura?" He was still surprised by her odd caring nature towards his pseudo daughter. Wen he told her of his desire to save her, she immediately agreed to help. He could only assume she had family around the age of Sakura to understand what he was going through. "The vampire says she is fine but..."

"You don't trust him." She finished as fireworks were released over a castle. "He's up to something, why else would he want the Grail in exchange for her. If you want, we could try and break her out of the manor."

"Wouldn't work. The worms inside both me and Sakura would kill us instantly if we tried." He sadly admitted. The thought had crossed his mind but with Zouken's advantage, it was impossible.

"Damn." The Servant rubbed her eyes in annoyance as she turned the console off. Walking to a nearby bookshelf she grabbed a random book and prepared to read it by the couch. "If we got her out we could keep her safe elsewhere."

"It's just a shame we can't, Berserker." Kariya said calling the Servant by her class name. "By the way... About families." He if she'd awkwardly not sure how to ask such a question.

"Twin sisters around Sakura's age." Berserker muttered as she turned a page in her book. "Annoying as they are, I would do anything for them just as you would do anything for Sakura. We are similar I guess."

Kariya nodded as he absorbed that knowledge. That could mean her wish was to get back to her sisters, to make sure they were safe. He could work well with that. "Alright, thanks for telling a complete stranger that."

"You're my Master," she shrugged. "You have a right to know about me. Now, may I continue my book please?" Kariya knew that was the time to stop asking questions. He had learnt from his brother to not annoy the so-called mad Servant when she was reading or didn't want to be bothered.

From what he knew, they were still fixing the large hole in the roof.

-Line Break-

Kariya groaned as he watched the nearby crowd, not happy at what they were watching. Nearby was a young man, another Master if he was right who was also unamused by what was happening. Yells and cheering were heard as they echoed throughout the shopping district.

"How did this happen? Rider..." The young man groaned as his Servant's yells were slowly drowning out everything else. Kariya didn't have the heart to tell him.

-Flashback-

"There it is." Berserker said as she stared at the last copy of a game. "This one shall last us the war." Kariya raised an eyebrow as he looked at it. It didn't seem that interesting of a game to him but he admittedly didn't know much about them.

"Fine but this is the last one." He told her as she nodded, knowing they had already bought a bunch of books and games already.

All paid for with the Matou savings of course.

"That's fine. It will last me." She stated as she began to take hold of the game.

Too bad someone had grabbed it at the same time.

"Berserker? Didn't know you liked these things." A deep voice said causing Berserker to frown.

"Rider," she looked at the large man that took hold of her game. "What are you doing here?" She asked already preparing herself for a headache.

'He's almost as bad as Purple Heart.'

"I want to try all that this world has to offer," he explained. "And I heard this Admirable Tactics is very good."

"I see. However, get your own copy." Kariya began to step back at this knowing full well his Servants anger. "Master, if you re leaving, please find some more books."

"No he can stay. But don't you have enough already?" Rider asked.

"This one will be the last one. As I said find your own copy."

"This one is my copy though." He said with a grin. He was already enjoying getting a rise out of her; she was more fun to tease then the foolish Saber.

"No it's not. It is property of Lowee." She stated to the opposing Servant's confusion.

"Lowee? Ah that must be your country." Rider nodded not knowing of any country known as that but convinced that it could be interesting. "But this game belongs to Macedonia."

"Lowee."

"Macedonia."

"Lowee!"

"Macedonia!"

Berserker blinked as she realized what was happening. She was entering an argument with another idiot! She had enough of those in her life and was not looking forward to another bantering with a fool. "Then how do we settle this?"

"There are too many people here for us to duel over it." He rubbed his beard as he tried to figure something out. "Ah, if you join my army, you can have the game!" He declared.

"I am not joining your army!" She shouted. "A CPU must defend her nation while overseeing what happens there. That means I will not let it go unprotected by joining up with you."

"A shame then." He sighed. "So what shall we do?"

At the corner of Berserker's eyes, she spotted an arcade cabinet. Two characters were fighting on the demo screen as they attempted to defeat the other. "Over there." She pointed at the machine with her free hand. "First one to win to games in a row gets the game."

"Perfect!" Rider shouted. "Then let us begin! But first," the two looked over at the dumbstruck Kariya.

"What?" He asked with confusion in his eyes.

"Can we borrow some money?"

-Flashback end-

From there the two had begun to draw a crowd as they fought over their prize, refusing to let the other take it for themselves. It had already been two hours since the game had started and already they refused to back down. Whenever someone won a round, the other quickly took the next denying victory for his or her foe.

It had gotten so bad that the two had begun to use their Noble Phantasms. Rider had summoned several of his men through the use of Ionioi Hetairoi to cheer him on and giving him drinks and food to satisfy him through the competition.

Berserker however had changed forms to upgrade her stamina to outlast her foe. Her hair had changed to blue and had grown while her eyes were now pinkish red. Her clothes had changed as well. A grey sleeveless leotard covered her body as gauntlets and greaves covered her arms and legs. Her vocabulary had also changed becoming rather vicious in insults and full of swears to Kariya's embarrassment.

He still had no idea how they were able to do activate them without being caught.

"Not bad at all Berserker! Or should I call you White Heart now?! You are indeed a fine opponent!" Rider declared as he avoided Berserker's command grab by jumping backwards causing the girl to miss.

"For an idiot your not bad yourself jackass!" Berserker shouted. "Now hurry up and lose!" The man just laughed in response as tossed several projectiles her way.

"Hurry up and win already Blanc," her Master muttered to himself. "She just had to get loud, didn't she? Whatever happened to quiet Servants?"

-END-

Berserker Blanc. This was has been rattling around in my brain for a little while. Originally this was meant to be more serious but it just didn't work properly. Sorry if I let some people down. But I hope this comedy makes up for it. Next time should be something more dark… hopefully.

The first plan was to have Caster and Uryuu involved but they and Kariya kept stealing the spotlight from Blanc to my frustration. (It's all right, I still love you Blanc. You and your Nintendo goodness.) Anyway, thanks for reading and please leave a review or suggestion for future shorts.

Demonic Defender of the State: A

Demonic Defender of the State is the capacity of a Servant to mark a region as his personal dominion by securing the surrounding leylines prior to an engagement.

Berserker was in charge of an entire region of land known as Lowee and was their goddess. One skill that she had acquired was to create a protective field over her land to prevent those who wished to harm it from entering.

Divinity: A

Divinity is the measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit, and the level declines when the Heroic Spirit's own rank as a Monster, Demonic Beast raises. It can also decrease due one's dislike for the gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called "purge defense" in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith.

Berserker was an actual goddess in life, known for her anger and protecting her region from intruders.

Eternal Arms Mastership prevents degradation of fighting skills when under the effect of mental hindrance.

While Berserker was known for her anger and rage yet she could still fight to her best, regardless of how much anger she released during battle.

Berserker changes to her goddess form known as White Heart. In this state, Berserker's base stats rank up by one level except for Endurance. Also of note is that White Heart unleashes all of Berserkers rage and anger sending Mad Enhancement to a higher rank.
