Restlessness
Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The Avatar was back. Zuko would not find him, Azula was confident of this. She would rather banish herself than have her insufferable brother find the Avatar before she did.
Mai was her usual stoic self, yet Azula began to notice little slip-ups. Explicitly in the way Mai's eyes gleamed with longing, if only for a second, when talk of the Avatar surfaced in the company of their friends. Azula could not help but to find the newfound hope in her friend beginning to grate on her nerves; especially because Azula knew exactly who Mai was deeply yearning for, and it was not the Avatar.
'It is almost treacherous,' Azula thought, glancing at Mai while the group of people around her chattered incessantly about all the different rumors they have heard regarding the big news. Azula was disinterested in gossip, even regarding the Avatar, and opted instead to stare blankly at her hands. She shifted her gaze every few minutes to rest her eyes on something else. Azula was starting to feel agitated, almost as if the palace was beginning to suffocate her.
'I will speak to father tomorrow regarding my leave, I need a bit of fresh air away from home.'
I am not sure how often I will be updating this story. I hope to update a couple times a week if not more. I have no idea where or when this story will end truthfully. I expect this to have possibly over 100 chapters. As always, please favorite/follow/review!
