~~~~*The Next Morning*~~~~
Soul and Maka were standing in the hall outside of the DWMA'S infirmary. "Maka would you stop assuming ridiculous things and let me explain?!" Soul groaned. "Why should I? I already know what happened. You get annoyed with me and left for a month. And while gone for the month, you CHEATED ON ME!" Maka snapped. "That's not what happened! There's nothing between Rizu and me!" Soul told Maka for the hundredth time.
As the two were arguing, the infirmary door slowly opened and Rizu stepped out. "Soul, just tell her what happened." She said causing them both to look at her. "I can't Rizu, you knew that the moment I found you. It's cla-" Soul started to say before Rizu finished his sentence as she rolled her eyes,"Classified, ya ya... Soul... can you take me to see my dad?" She asked him. Soul sighed before nodding, "Yeah, he's in class probably." He told her as he led her down the hall and Maka glared as she followed them.
Once they reached professor Stein's classroom, Soul told Rizu to wait outside while he got the professor. "What is your relationship with my boyfriend?" Maka asked rudely. "Uhh... He found me, then saved me before taking me back to his- your place. You know the rest." Rizu said as she looked down at her feet. Right after, the classroom door flew open and a white-haired middle-aged man stood there with a look of shock on his face. "Ri-Rizu?" He said breathlessly before pulling the girl into his chest. "Dad...? Oh dad I was so scared! They killed grandma!" She began to cry into his shirt. "Wait...she really is the professor's daughter?!" Maka asked Soul in shock. "Yeah, I told you she was. She was born when the professor was young and his mother took care of Rizu." Soul explained as he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. "Who's her mom?" Maka asked as she watched Rizu and her father hug. "Mar-" Soul started to say before a blonde haired woman ran by and hugged Rizu. "Marie," He finished as he watched her cry as she hugged her daughter.
After the heart-warming reunion of the family, Rizu walked up to Soul and Maka. "Soul, thank you so much for bringing me back to my parents." She smiled before softly kissing his cheek. "I don't know how I could ever repay you." She smiled. "Don't worry about it, you're safe here in the city." Soul smiled back. "I don't mean to be rude, but you said "they" killed your grandmother. Who killed her?" Maka asked. Rizu paused and looked down at her feet in sadness, "A group known as Arachnophobia, they partnered with the witches and they came after my grandmother and killed her." She explained as she tried not to cry. "Rizu, don't cry... They can't get you now." Soul said as he put his arm around her shoulders to comfort her. "I-I'm ok," She said as she nodded slowly. "Rizu, let's go home..." Marie said kindly as she and Professor Stein stood behind her. "Ok, see you Soul. Thanks again! Nice to meet you Maka..." Rizu waved to both as she walked away with her parents.
"Wow Soul, I'm proud of yo- hey where are you going?" Maka soon asked once she realized Soul was walking away. "Leave me alone Maka." He said coldly. "Soul what's wrong?" Maka asked as she quickly followed him. "You accused me of cheating on you! That hurt me, y'know! You think I'd be that uncool?!" He snapped as he spun around to face her. "S-soul, what was I supposed to think? You vanished for a month, then suddenly show up again with some girl!" She snapped back. "That I got called on a mission!" Soul growled. "Wha- not without me...?" Maka said in disbelieve. "Yes without you! You're so messed up about your dad that Lord Death sent me and Kirik to do the mission." He told her. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" Maka cried. "I couldn't Maka! It was an official death weapon mission. Secret! I'm gonna be in trouble for telling you now." Soul scowled before walking away, leaving Maka standing there as she watched him leave.
