Chapter 21: Finally Over

After Tessa gave birth to two children, two boys, Cora had talked her into fitting more into the civilized world.
Tessa was leaving her new job, 6:00 at night, now having experience to driving Derek's car.
She stopped right in front of the car, her hearing senses on alert.
It was dark at this time, the back of the vet was mostly empty.
As Tessa heard a snap behind her, she quickly turned, with inhuman speed, and had a figure soon pressed against the nearest wall.
"Ow! What the he..."
An unfamiliar human was who had attempted to sneak up on her.
Tessa could smell that he was nothing but a human who wanted to mate with a female.
Her eyes were an alert crimson red.
"Don't sneak up on me." She said warningly.
"What the hell are you!" The feared man asked.
Tessa smiled, "If I told you, I would have to kill you."
"Please don't." He whimpered.
Tessa felt she had scared the human enough not to underestimate her again, "Get out of here."
She roughly pushed the man away from her, and he fell to he ground.
He stumbled, falling numerously before disappearing in the night.
Tessa returned to the car, and drove home.
Derek was the first to meet her.
"You're a little late." Derek said as she hugged him.
"Please. I'm not a kid." Tessa sighed.
"Not... Anymore... What happened?" Derek asked.
"Another lowlife. Looking for trouble." Tessa said, "Nothing I couldn't handle."
"That's the second one this month. You must be more attractive than I give you credit for." Derek said.
"Please. Stop. Where are Dominic and Dylan?" Tessa asked, changing subject.
"Peter and Cora took them out for a while." Derek said.
"Why do I have this feeling that they did that just to get us alone?" Tessa asked.
"I don't know..." Derek mumbled as he leaned forward.
Their lips met.
Tessa sighed into the kiss, moving closer.
She liked when he acted possessive.
In a way, it was just fine with her.
They both knew they were bound to each other and no one else.
"How long have they been gone?" Tessa asked, her lips brushing against his as she spoke.
"Just left five minutes ago." Derek said.
With that, Derek lead her in the house, and closed the door, going to a more private location.
