AN: Okay, so I'm sort of losing ideas of what to really write in this story. So please, review an idea of what you think could happen maybe, and if I like it, I'll write it, and of course give you the credit for the idea. So here's a new chap. I have no idea what this chapter is going to be, so here goes.

Chapter 21: Daddy?

Clary had fallen asleep shortly afterwards, and was woken by loud shouting.

"It was your fault! You're the one who hit me!" Someone yelled, sounding like Jordan.

"Yeah! So pay up, buddy." Someone else said, obviously Simon.

"Do you know who I am?" Someone asked, though Clary couldn't make out the voice.

"Yeah, unfortunately, I do." She would've recognized that voice anywhere.

Jace.

Shortly thereafter, the sound of a punch came, followed by the thud of someone hitting the ground.

Clary sat up straight, immediately feeling dizzy, and collected herself, before making her way out of the van.

Who she saw was definitely not who she expected. Jace was leaning over a body, punching the shit out of them, and while the person beneath him was trying his best to ward Jace off, to no avail. Jace was relentless, and whatever this mystery guy did, must have been pretty bad.

Clary stepped completely out of the van, and when she hit the ground, Sebastian's head turned towards her.

'Go back in the van.' He mouthed urgently, motioning towards the van.

Clary gave him a confused look, and then proceeded to walk towards him, against his objections. She didn't understand why he didn't want her out here. Her group of friends had now noticed she was coming towards the fight, and also tried to get her to go back to the van, unsuccessfully. As soon as she was standing next to Sebastian, she saw why they didn't want her there.

The person getting the shit beat out of him wasn't just some, random mystery guy.

Raphael.

Clary immediately felt as if she was going to throw up, and would have collapsed on the ground if Sebastian hadn't caught her. He wrapped his arms around her, supporting her weight easily.

Raphael seemed to have caught sight of her in her slip-up, and immediately Jace noticed, whipping his head towards her, allowing Raphael to escape his hold.

In Jace's distraction, Raphael had quickly gotten up, striding over to Clary. Sebastian pushed Clary behind him, and the whole group formed a wall in front of Clary.

"I suggest, you get the fuck out of here, before you regret it." Sebastian told him, attempting calm.

"Aw, come on, Clare. Don't let them boss you around." Raphael said to Clary's shaking form.

"Get the fuck away from her." Jace growled from behind him.

"Oh, look who finally decided to join us." Raphael said, turning to smirk at Jace.

Jace punched him on the ear, causing Raphael disorientation, falling over. Jace walked up to Clary, scooping her up in his arms, and hauling her to the car, leaving Raphael knocked out on his ass.

Clary was still shaking 10 minutes later, laying down with her head in Jace's lap again.

"He's gone. Shhh, baby it's okay. If that jackass every comes near you again, it'll be the last thing he does. I promise." Jace kept trying to comfort her, but nothing was working.

Once they pulled into Clary's driveway, her shaking had finally stopped, but she was still upset. When would she ever be rid of this guy. What did she do to deserve all this?

Jace carried her inside, up to her room, and put her in bed. She was sound asleep by now, so he left the room quietly, and went back downstairs, running into her parents.

"Jace! What's wrong with Clary?" Jocelyn asked worriedly.

"We uh, sort of had a run-in with Raphael." Jace told them nervously.

"What!" Jocelyn said tears welling up in her eyes. "Well what happened?"

"Well we sort of got into a 'fender bender' with him, he hit the back of the van, and then he denied it, blah blah blah."

"And what did you do?" Valentine asked, finally joining the conversation. He had been oddly quiet through out, and one look ate him and you could clearly see the rage in his eyes.

"I sorta beat the shit out of him, and then knocked him out." Jace said looking at the ground.

He felt a clap on his shoulder, and looked up to find Valentine smiling down at him, for once a flash of happiness in his eyes directed towards Jace.

"Thata' boy." Valentine told him, heading upstairs into Clary's room.

"Thank you." Jocelyn said, glancing up to Clary's door, but then going back down the hall to her own room.

"Clare-Bear?" Valentine whispered, leaning over Clary's sleeping form.

"Daddy?" Clary whispered back, opening her tear filled eyes.

Valentine held her in her bed, while Clary sobbed into his chest, telling himself that one day, he would most certainly teach that boy a lesson.

Jace was sitting in the living room downstairs, bouncing his knee, squeezing Izzy's right hand in his left. Why couldn't that dick, Raphael, take a hint.

Valentine had been upstairs with Clary for half an hour, and as the thought ran through Jace's brain, Valentine came into view from the doorway of the living room.

"How is she?" Izzy asked hopefully.

"She's asleep, right now. She cried herself to sleep." Valentine said.

The group sighed dejectedly, though now slightly at ease.

"It's not good for her to have this much stress." Jace said worriedly.

"With her cancer, the stress could make it worse." Jace continued, bouncing his knee again.

"She'll be fine." Jon said confidently. "It's Clary. She's a fighter."

"Alright kids, you're welcome to crash here, you know where all the guest bedrooms are." Valentine said, leaving the group, walking to his own room.

"I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted, so I'm going to sleep. See ya in the morning." Jace went upstairs to Clary's room, quietly climbing in bed with her, and drifting off to sleep.

AN: Okay, I really absolutely HATE this chapter. It's the shortest chapter I've ever written, and I literally have absolutely zero ideas for the next couple chapters. Help? Sooooooo next chap comes faster at 175 reviews. XOXO,
