Oliver looked over at his PA's desk. Felicity seemed lost in thought, her fingers flying across the keyboard. She always looked incredibly cute doing that. Okay, admittedly she always looked irresistible, which was exactly why Oliver had finally decided to ask her for a date. After all they had been through in the last two years and despite his determination to not let it happen because it would put her into the line of fire with his enemies, he couldn't help himself. Felicity was everything for him. She always had his back and gave him the strength he needed when he thought that he just couldn't win the fight, but she also stood up to him when she thought that he was completely wrong.

He got up and walked over to her desk, hands sweaty and pulse racing. Damn, he wasn't used to feeling like that when he asked a woman out. Maybe it was because he was never sure when it came to Felicity. Sometimes he thought that she was totally in love with him and sometimes he felt that she only saw him as a friend.

The PA was so concentrated on her work that she didn't notice Oliver standing in front of her. She stared at her monitor and chewed on her lower lip. It took only seconds for Oliver's thoughts to head in a decidedly steamy direction. This woman could drive him crazy without even trying.

When he cleared his throat, Felicity startled and looked up at him. "Oliver! Could you please stop scaring me to death like that?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I'm here to ask you something."

"I'm almost done with the bills. And if it's about the meeting, I'll prepare that in a minute."

Oliver smiled at her. "No, it's not about work."

"About our nighttime activities…ehm…you know what I mean…not nighttime activities as in sleeping together, but the other…you know…"

"I would like to have dinner with you tonight," Oliver blurted out.

Felicity gave him an astonished look. "Like a date? A real date date?"

Oliver had to grin, this was exactly the reaction he had been waiting for. "Yes, a real date. You and me in a restaurant, a glass of wine, good food, and then we'll see what else the evening will bring."

The PA hung on his every word. Oh, how long she had waited for this moment…. She pinched herself. "Ouch!"

Oliver looked at her. "What's wrong? Why are you pinching yourself?"

"Just making sure I'm not dreaming," Felicity admitted sheepishly, blushing slightly.

The CEO leaned across her desk to whisper in her ear. "No, this isn't a dream. I'll pick you up at 7. Wear something nice."

Felicity swallowed hard when Oliver winked at her. The thought of a date with Oliver tonight sent her hormones into overdrive. After two year at his side as his IT girl he had finally asked her.

The rest of the day passed in a blur and the closer the end of the workday got, the more nervous Felicity became. She had never made it home so fast. She ran into her bedroom, stripped off her clothes and jumped into the shower, deliberately turning the water colder than usual to clear her head. But that was easier said than done, a thousand thoughts were swirling through her mind. What should she wear, which makeup, hair loose or pinned up….

Her bedroom looked like a disaster area, with shoes, dresses, pants, skirts and underwear scattered everywhere. Felicity stood in front of the mirror and looked at her reflection. She had chosen a short black dress with pink Swarowski stones on the hem and shoulder straps, her hair pinned up on one side with the rest of it falling in curls over her shoulder. She checked her watch, 10 minutes until Oliver came to pick her up. She put on a pair of simple black high heels, grabbed a pink clutch and waited.

The ten minutes seemed like an eternity, until she was saved by the sound of the doorbell. She jumped up , but hesitated for a moment at the door. She didn't want Oliver to think that she had been lurking behind the door, so she waited until the second ring before she opened.

Oliver's breath stopped for a moment when he saw Felicity. She looked even better than usual. He remembered their first mission together, when Felicity had come down the stairs in that golden dress. He had been just as speechless then.

"Oliver?" Felicity asked hesitantly, a look of fear in her eyes.

"Sorry, Felicity, I…you just loo so incredibly beautiful that you took my breath away."

"Thanks," she answered shyly.

"Shall we?" Oliver held his arm out to her. Felicity nodded, took his arm and they walked out to Oliver's sports car.

The billionaire had chosen the most exclusive restaurant in Starling City, where reservations usually had to be made months in advance. Oliver and Felicity had a secluded table in a quiet corner of the restaurant and Oliver ordered red wine, since he knew that that was Felicity's favorite. They looked at each other and grinned. It was strange to sit together like this; somehow the usual easy atmosphere between them was missing.

"Oliver."

"Felicity."

They had to laugh at the way they had started to speak at the same time.

"It's strange, usually I can think of at least twenty things I want to tell you, but tonight I'm so nervous that my mind is completely empty."

Oliver chuckled. "I feel the same, but I hope we'll get over that quickly. How about we start by ordering?"

"Good idea. Have you been here before? Is there anything that you can recommend?"

"No, this is my first time here and it wasn't easy to get a table."

"What, the mighty Oliver Queen has trouble getting a table?" Felicity teased.

"Well, apparently money doesn't open every door," Oliver replied, winking at her

"I see...," Felicity said with a smile, glancing at the menu.

When the waiter came, they ordered their food and Oliver slid a little closer to Felicity.

"Now we have enough time to find a not work-related topic."

"Do you have anything specific in mind?" Felicity asked.

"To be honest, yes, I have. Tell me something about yourself."

Felicity looked at him in surprise. "What do you want to know?"

"You mentioned once that your mother was a waitress in Las Vegas. Did you grow up there? Is that where your talent for gambling comes from?"

"I lived in Coast City for the first four years, then my father left us and my mother and I moved to Vegas. She worked a lot and I wasn't exactly one of the most popular kids in school. I only had one friend. His name was Daniel, he was 24 and worked at the Golden Nugget. He taught me every trick you need to know in a casino. Later I put his "training" to good use. Mom couldn't pay for college and I needed money in spite of the scholarship, so I went to a casino every now and then."

Oliver gave her a surprised look. "Mrs. Smoak, I'm shocked. You are a gambler."

"No, Mr. Queen, I just paid for college that way. Nowadays, I only visit casinos on my boss' orders."

Both of them started to laugh. After that, the ice was broken and they found one topic after the other. Oliver told her about his adventures with Tommy and their secret trips into the forest.

When their food was served, silence fell between them. Felicity took the first bites of her seafood salad and stopped.

Oliver looked at her and noticed that she seemed to have trouble breathing. He jumped up and was immediately at her side.

"Felicity!"

"Nuts…pen…," Felicity gasped, pointing at her handbag, desperately trying to get air into her lungs.

The billionaire tried to calm her, but a surge of adrenaline was coursing through his own body. He opened her handbag, found the pen and selected the right needle, then he pushed Felicity's dress aside and injected it into her thigh.

It took a couple of minutes for Felicity's breathing to return to normal and for Oliver's pulse to slow down. "I'd better take you to the hospital."

Felicity just nodded silently. How could that have happened? She had been so careful to select something that didn't contain nuts. Their date was ruined. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

Oliver grabbed her things, left the money on the table and wrapped his arm securely around Felicity's waist. They left the restaurant, Oliver helped Felicity into the car and took her straight to Starling General.

It didn't take long for a doctor to see them. Here Oliver could put his contacts to good use and Felicity was glad to let him. Especially since the doc was very good-looking, almost as if he could have a guest spot on "Emergency Room".

"Hello, Mrs. Smoak, my name is Dr. Gonzales. You're here because of an allergic reaction to nuts? Your last attack was two years ago, was there something different this time?" the doctor asked, smiling at Felicity. Oliver didn't move from Felicity's side and kept a wary eye on the doctor. Was the guy flirting with his woman?

"No, not that I noticed. I'm just very tired, can I go home?"

"You should be under observation for at least the next 12 hours, so I would like to keep you here. Where did you inject the pen?" the doctor answered, winking at her.

"In the thigh, like I was instructed. Is it really necessary for me to stay? I'm not a big fan of hospitals," Felicity asked tiredly.

The doctor pushed back her dress and examined the injection site. Finding it slightly reddened, he ran his fingers across it, before he disinfected the spot. To Oliver it looked like far more than just medical care. He cleared his throat and Dr. Gonzales looked up.

"If Mrs. Smoak has someone to look after her for the next 12 hours, is it possible for her to go home?" Oliver asked. Felicity gave him a slightly irritated look. Dr. Gonzales took his fingers off Felicity's thigh. "That would be possible, but I don't know who that could be. Last time she was here, Mrs. Smoak didn't give and emergency contact, so I would prefer her to stay here for the next twelve hours, maybe even 24 hours."

Felicity's eyes wandered back and forth between the two men. Was she dreaming or was there really a little pissing contest in the making? "I….," she began, but both men completely ignored her.

"Two years ago, Felicity and I didn't know each other. Now I'm her emergency contact. My name is Oliver Queen and I will not leave Mrs. Smoak alone for the next 48 hours if necessary, either here in the hospital or at her home." Oliver's eyes flashed a warning. Dr. Gonzales nodded. He understood perfectly what was going on.

"Okay, Mrs. Smoak," he said without looking at Felicity. "If Mr. Queen is willing to look after you for the next 48 hours, you can go home. If anything changes, please let us know immediately."

"Thank you, Dr. Gonzales," Felicity said. The doctor nodded and left the room.

"Let's go, Mrs. Smoak. Our date isn't over yet," Oliver said, smiling at her.
