Important thing at the bottom, I suggest you read it. Don't worry, it's good news!

The following morning, Santana and Brittany wake up just before noon so that they can pick their daughter up from her dance class. Usually they're up at eight o'clock every morning since Cassidy doesn't like to sleep in late, but since she was staying with Kitty and Marley, they leapt at the opportunity to sleep in since they had nothing better to do. Well, there were things they could have been doing such as tidying up the house, but sometimes it's nice just to forget about responsibilities for a while and just relax.
When they arrive at the studio they wait outside with the other parents until the class finishes, and while they do so Brittany watches their daughter dance through the glass screen that separates the waiting room from the room in which they dance in. Santana knows that Brittany's doing it so that she can help Cassidy improve on her technique when they're at home, so whilst Brittany ignores the strange looks that she's getting, Santana glares at everyone who dares look at her girlfriend like that. She likes playing the protective role in their relationship because even though she's well aware that Brittany is more than capable of looking after herself, Santana sees it as another way that she can show Brittany that she truly cares about her.
Santana knows that the class has ended when Brittany places a hand on the small of her back and gently pushes her towards the door of the classroom where all the other parents are heading into. Some of them begin to talk to Brittany as they walk and Santana assumes that their children must be friends with Cassidy. Even though she would never admit it out loud, Santana feels a little out of place being at the dance studio because she's never been inside of it with Brittany before and it kind of seems as if it's Brittany's territory and she's intruding. She has no idea if the other people here know that she's Cassidy's other mother or if they just assume that she's Brittany's new girlfriend, but the idea that they're probably talking about her behind her back doesn't sit comfortably with her.
However, Santana does her best to push those thoughts out of her mind because even though she feels a little bit uncomfortable about being here, she and Brittany are here for a reason. They're supposed to be meeting Cassidy's new dance teacher since they're daughter is having problems with her and they want to make sure everything is okay. After all, dancing is Cassidy's passion right now and they want to make sure that she's enjoying the experience.
"Mama! Mami!"
Cassidy's voice brings Santana out of her thoughts and she looks up just in time to see her daughter bounding towards the two of them. Bending down, she opens up her arms just as Cassidy runs into them and she hugs her daughter tightly before pressing a kiss to her hair and then throwing her onto her back. It causes Cassidy to burst out into a fit of laughter and she wraps her arms around her mother's neck tightly so that she won't fall off. Santana's pretty sure that she might choke to death, but she knows that it's worth it. She loves to make her daughter happy.
"Hey Sweetie." Brittany greets, watching the interaction between Santana and Cassidy with a content smile on her face. Although Cassidy barely noticed her when she came running over to them, Brittany doesn't really care because she just loves that the two of them are building a strong relationship with each other. "Did you have a good class?"
"Yup! It was fun! I danced lots." Cassidy replies, loosening her grip on Santana's neck which the Latina is thankful for. "I'm hungry."
"Well luckily for you, me and Mama are going to take you out for lunch." Santana informs her as she hands her daughter's dance bag to her girlfriend. "We just need to speak to your dance teacher before we go because we want to see how well you're progressing."
As if on cue, a blonde woman begins to walk over to them and Santana's stomach drops when she realises who it is. She can't believe that this is happening because really, what are the chances that her ex girlfriend would get a job working in the dance studio that her daughter attends? Knowing that this probably isn't going to end well, the brunette hands Cassidy over to Brittany and takes a few steps forward so that the youngster won't hear the conversation that she's having.
"Santana what a surprise to see you here!" Jessica exclaims, the fake cheeriness clear in her voice. "I was wondering when you would stop by, I've missed not seeing you around."
"Don't flatter yourself, I'm not here to see you." Santana sneers in response, crossing her arms defensively over her chest. "I'm only here because I want to know how well my daughter is progressing in your class."
Santana glances back over her shoulder to look at her two favourite girls, and she almost laughs at the sight she's met with. Brittany has her hands on her hips and is glaring at Jessica, which Santana really can't blame her for considering the last time that they met Jessica was trying to kiss her, so the blonde's jealousy is understandable. Cassidy is standing in front of her mother, mirroring her actions and the Latina thinks her daughter looks adorable with her hands on her hips and pout firmly in place. Santana guesses that she's not the only one who can be protective in the family.
"She's doing okay." Jessica shrugs, loving how worked up Santana is getting over the situation. She's not had the chance to get back at Santana for breaking up with her and she knows that one way to do it is by playing down Cassidy's talent. "She's just your average dancer."
If they weren't in a room surrounded by a bunch of other children and adults then Santana knows for a fact that she would be shouting 'bullshit' at Jessica. She's well aware that Cassidy is more than advanced for her age, and she hates that the woman in front of her thinks it's okay to talk about her daughter like that. She can feel the anger rising in her body and she opens her mouth to say something in response, but before she can Brittany places a comforting hand on her shoulder and gently pulls her backwards so that she can stand in front of her. The blonde notices how jealous Jessica looks due to the touch and it makes her smile in satisfaction. She always knew that she was the one who was supposed to be with Santana.
"I think you'll find that Cassidy is more than advanced for her age and this class, which is why we're discussing the possibility of moving her up a class." Brittany says, keeping her voice sweet and cheerful. "Don't downplay my daughter's talents just because you're still bitter over the fact that Santana chose her family over you." She warns, her voice suddenly changing and the harshness in it becomes clear. "I suggest that you just do your job and leave my family alone."
Santana watches in awe as her girlfriend sticks up for their family and she can't help but think that Brittany looks totally hot when she's angry. She makes a mental note to tell her that later because she doesn't think that right now is an appropriate time to do it. Knowing that Jessica probably won't say anything in response to Brittany's words, the Latina takes a step forward and wraps her arms around the blonde's waist.
"Come on babe." She coos happily as she leans up on her tiptoes to press a kiss to her cheek. "We've got a lunch date to get to."
Catching on to Santana's plan to make Jessica jealous, Brittany turns in her girlfriend's arms and playfully roles her eyes at her before breaking out of her hold and grabbing onto her hand. She's aware that Cassidy is watching their interaction and probably has a lot of questions about it, but she doesn't mind because they're going to be speaking about it at lunch very soon. "Come on then!" She chirps, pulling Santana away from Jessica. "I'm starving."

When they arrive at the diner that's just a couple of streets away from their home, they take their usual seats at the booth in the corner. Santana's aware that they probably eat out more than normal families do, but she thinks that will all change once Cassidy goes to school and they buy their own home. Cassidy sits on one side of the booth while Brittany and Santana sit on the other. Usually, one of them would sit next to their daughter, but the youngster insisted that they sit together and that wasn't something they were going to argue about.
After looking at the menu (which is really pointless in Santana's opinion because they always order the same every time they come here) and debating over what to order, Santana gets up from her seat so that she can place their order which consists of; three burgers, two chocolate milkshakes and a banana milkshake. She then grabs some colouring in sheets and crayons from the counter to keep Cassidy busy with and then makes her way back over to the booth, sliding in beside her girlfriend again.
Immediately Cassidy reaches over and grabs the crayons and paper from her mother and gets to work colouring in. it's their routine while they're waiting for their food and so Santana takes this time to rest her head on Brittany's shoulder, while Brittany snakes her arm around her waist. She loves that they're now going to become an official couple because it means that they can do more things like this out in public or around their friends without them questioning it.
"Cassidy." Brittany clears her throat, gaining the youngsters attention. "Your Mami and I would like to speak to you about something, so I would like you to put the crayons down for a couple of minutes."
Cassidy does as she's told and places the crayons down onto the table before turning her attention to both of her parents. "What is it Mama?" She questions, curiously tilting her head to the side.
Santana's glad that Brittany decided to lead the conversation because she can honestly admit that if she was the one who had to explain to their daughter that they were dating, then she'd freeze up completely and not know what to say. She looks from her daughter's face to Brittany's and notices the look of concentration on her face, a clear sign that she's thinking about what to say.
"Well, you know how Sugar and Rory cuddle and kiss with each other, and spend a lot of time together because they're in love with each other?" Brittany asks, and Cassidy nods her head in understanding. "Well they do that because they're dating."
"Sugar and Rory are gross." Cassidy comments, pulling a disgusted face. "Sugar is boring when he's at the house."
Both Santana and Brittany chuckle at the statement because they know it's true. "Well I love your Mami very much." Brittany continues. "We love each other so much that we're dating now, and that means that your Mami will be spending a lot more time at our house."
Cassidy's eyebrows furrow in thought for a moment as she process the information that she's been given, and then once she has she cheers loudly, causing everyone in the diner to briefly look over at their table. "Now we can be a real family!" She shrieks in excitement, her eyes shining brightly. "You gotta kiss now since that's what you do when you're dating."
Santana's eyes widen at her statement and she can feel her face begin to heat up because she doesn't know how she feels about kissing Brittany in front of Cassidy. She's more than aware of the fact that she and Brittany can get carried away when they're kissing and even though she doubts that it would happen in front of their daughter there is always the possibility. However she's broken out of her internal debate when she feels Brittany's lips on hers, but before she can even respond her girlfriend is already pulling away and she pouts because that peck totally didn't last long enough. She's about to say something to her girlfriend about it, but Brittany gives her a look which she knows means 'we'll continue this later', so she closes her mouth again.
Cassidy quickly loses interest at the fact that her mothers are dating and goes back to colouring in, leaving Brittany and Santana to make small talk among themselves. As they do so, Santana can't help but think that this is how their life is supposed to be and can't wait to be able to do this more often.
After finishing their meal, Santana and Brittany decide to take Cassidy to the park near their home since they don't have anything important to do today. The weather isn't great as there is a slight wind and very little sun, but the youngster insisted on going which is why they decided to go. It's not surprising that the park isn't that busy when they arrive and so Santana and Brittany find a spot to sit under a tree while Cassidy goes off to play, insisting that she wants to play with the other two children who are at the park instead of her parents. Santana thinks it's crazy that she's growing up so fast, but she knows that they have to giver her a little bit of freedom.
The two women sit down, resting their backs on the trunk of the tree and watch as their daughter runs towards the other children, relaxing when she gets there safely. Just like at the diner, Santana rests her head on Brittany's shoulder, and in return Brittany wraps an arm around Santana's waist. It's kind of their thing and it always makes them both feel so relaxed. "I'm really glad we told Cassidy today." Santana says as she closes her eyes and allows herself to fall further into her girlfriend's embrace. "She seems so happy about it, and like she said we really can start acting like a proper family now."
"I'm glad we told her too." Brittany agrees, pressing a kiss into Santana's hair. "It's such a relief that she took it so well and now that we're not hiding anything from her you can stay over more often and we can start looking for a house together."
"I'm really excited about that." Santana comments, a smile firmly in place on her lips. "I can't wait to be able to wake up beside you every morning."
"Me too." The blonde matches her smile. "Speaking of moving and eveything, I text Sugar this morning asking if we could talk and she's invited me around to Rory's place tonight. Would it be okay with you if you could watch Cassidy for a couple of hours? You can invite Quinn around to keep you company, or if you already have plans then I can take her with me."
"Don't worry, that's fine. I don't have plans and it will be nice to spend some quality time with Cassidy." Santana says, opening her eyes and tilting her head upwards to look at the beautiful blonde. "I'm really glad that you and Sugar are going to sort things out, the pair of you have an amazing friendship and it would be a shame to see it ruined."
"I know, that's how I feel about it too." Brittany responds truthfully. "I think that before I was so caught up in getting back together with you and having you in my life that I forgot about her, and even though that's not an excuse for her to act the way she did, I'm just as much to blame as she is for our argument."
"If you go into your meeting with her with that attitude then you're going to be fine." Santana comments, proud of how mature Brittany is being about the whole situation. "I'm proud of you babe."
Their time at the park only lasts for twenty minutes because it suddenly begins to rain heavily, and so Cassidy comes running back over to them looking for shelter. Luckily Cassidy has a hoodie in her backpack so the quickly help her to put it on, zip it up and put the hood up to shelter her from the rain. Santana is about to throw the dance bag over her shoulder, but she stops her movements when she notices that Brittany doesn't have a jacket or hoodie to protect herself from the rain.
"Here Britt, put this on." She instructs as she shrugs off her leather jacket and hands it to her girlfriend. "I don't want you to get sick."
"What about you?" Brittany challenges, but takes the jacket and puts it on anyway because she knows that there's no way that Santana will take it back. She then picks Cassidy up and secures her to her hip, knowing that they will get home quicker if one of them carry her. "What if you get sick?"
"I've got a long sleeved shirt on." Santana answers, pulling the bag onto her shoulder as they begin to walk out the park. "I also have a better immune system than you do, so hopefully I won't get sick."
"If you do, I'll look after you." The blonde states with a playful smile, but Santana can sense a bit of mischievousness in her eyes. "I'm great at looking after people when things get hard."
Santana gasps at the emphasis that Brittany puts on the last word and she's relieved that her daughter isn't paying attention to the conversation. She knows that even if she was, she wouldn't understand it, but that's not the point. "Brittany!" She hisses warningly. "Not in front of Cassidy!"
Brittany simply rolls her eyes with a chuckle before grabbing onto Santana's hand to keep them close together.

By the time Brittany leaves to go and visit Sugar the weather has gotten worse. She's only been away for an hour and Santana already wants her to return home just so she knows that she's safe. She already knows that the blonde arrived there safely because she text Santana and told her, but the Latina is still worried that the weather is going to interfere with her drive home. The wind outside is picking up and the rain is still battering down, and it's showing no signs of stopping any time soon.
"Mami, I'm bored!" Cassidy sighs from her spot on the couch when the movie on the tv finishes. "I wanna do something fun."
Santana looks over at her daughter to find her looking back at her with a pout on her face, and she internally curses Brittany for teaching their daughter how to do that because she can't resist it. "Well what do you want to do?"
"I don't know." The youngster shrugs. "Mama always thinks of games."
Santana groans because of course, Brittany would be the one to think up games to play with their daughter. She's not bitter at the fact that the blonde has a better relationship with Cassidy than she does because it's understandable since she's been there for her entire life. She just finds it difficult to act like a good mother because she knows that Brittany is so good at it. She wants to be just as amazing as her girlfriend but she doesn't think she'll ever be that good. She's got so much to learn, and she doesn't want Cassidy thinking that she's a crap mother or anything like that.
Before she can suggest something that they can do, a loud crash of thunder fills the silence, closely followed by a flash of lightening and it causes Cassidy to scream in terror. Santana is quick to react and she takes the child into her arms and holds her close to her chest, doing her best to comfort her. "You're okay baby." She whispers into her ear. "We're inside so the thunder and lightening can't get you."
"Mami, I'm scared." Cassidy sobs into Santana's chest, not listening to her mother's words of comfort. "I want Mama."
"Mama is out just now, Sweetie." Santana explains, rubbing her daughter's back soothingly. She remembers being in a similar position like this when she and Brittany were younger. The blonde used to hate thunderstorms and whenever they happened, Santana was always the one who comforter her. "I have an idea." She suddenly says, remembering what she used to do with Brittany. "How about we build a fort? That way we will be extra protected from the thunder."
Cassidy nods her head at the idea and it makes Santana smile triumphantly because she's proud that she was able to think of a good idea for them. Since she's an expert at building forts, Santana tells Cassidy to stay on the couch while she rearranges the furniture for them. It only takes her ten minutes to do so and once she's satisfied with it, she runs upstairs and grabs all the extra blankets and cushions that she can find before brining them all downstairs. She's aware that it's going to be a pain in the ass to tidy up later, but she doesn't care. Making Cassidy happy is totally worth it.
Once Santana has covered the fort in sheets and has made sure that it's secure and won't fall down. She tells Cassidy to place the cushions inside while she goes into the kitchen to get them some food and drink. She grabs a few juice boxes and a packet of popcorn, knowing that it'll be enough to fill them up since it's just past eight o'clock and Cassidy will be going to bed soon anyway. She's pretty sure that if Brittany was here, she wouldn't allow Cassidy to have popcorn at this time so she guesses it's something they shouldn't mention to her.
Santana crawls into the fort to find Cassidy sitting in the middle of it with a smile on her face, and so she joins her, handing her juice box as she does so. She then rearranges the cushions and the few extra blankets they have to make it more comfortable and then lies down. Cassidy joins her, snuggling into her mothers side and resting her head on her chest. It takes Santana a little off guard as she has never really cuddled Cassidy like this, but she knows her daughter needs comfort right now so she wraps her arms around her and holds her close, enjoying the moment.
"Mami." Cassidy speaks up after lying in silence for a few minutes. "Why were you not here when I was little?"
"I used to work far away so I couldn't come and visit you." She lies, doing the best to keep the hurt out of her voice. She knows that one day Cassidy will know the truth as to why she wasn't around, but she understands that right now she needs to continue with the lie that Brittany started. It wouldn't be fair to confuse the youngster. "I wanted to visit you and Mama though, but I wasn't able to."
"It's okay, I'm just happy you're here now." She admits, bringing her arms up and wrapping them around her mother's neck. "You're the best Mami ever." She announces, snuggling further into Santana and closing her eyes. "I love you."

Due to the storm, Brittany doesn't get home from visiting Sugar until quarter to twelve in the middle of the night, so she assumes that Santana and Cassidy will already be in bed. However, when she enters their home and finds that the living room light is still on, she makes her way into the room to investigate. Her eyes widen in surprise and confusion when she sees that the furniture has been arranged to build a fort, but she soon puts all the pieces together and realises that Santana must have done this to calm Cassidy down during the storm.
She has to stop herself from laughing when she peeps into the fort and finds Cassidy lying fast asleep on Santana's chest. She thinks that it's possibly one of the most adorable things she's seen, so she very carefully takes her phone out of her pocket and snaps a picture of them together. She can't wait to show it to Santana later. Although she finds the situation beautiful, Brittany knows that she can't let her girlfriend and daughter sleep on the floor of their living room so carefully removes Cassidy from Santana's chest and takes her upstairs to her bedroom.
Without waking her, Brittany skilfully changes the young girl into her pyjamas and then tucks her into her bed, kissing her on the forehead as she does so. She has a feeling that Santana probably forgot to get her to brush her teeth before she fell asleep, but she's going to let it slide this time because she knows that Santana has done her best tonight, and that''s all that can be asked of her. Once she's satisfied that Cassidy isn't going to wake back up, she creeps out of her daughter's room and goes back downstairs to get Santana.
Instead of waking the Latina up straight away, Brittany crawls into the fort and rests her head on Santana's chest. In order to get herself more comfortable, she lazily throws one arm and leg over the body beneath her and buries herself into the crook of Santana's neck, inhaling her scent as she does so. The movement causes Santana to stir in her sleep and while she brings her arms up to cradle the blonde, she opens her eyes, blinking a few times to adjust to the light in the room.
"Britt where's Cassidy?" She mumbles sleepily. "When did you get home?"
"I took Cassidy up to bed, and I got home like ten minutes ago." She answers, trying not to laugh at her girlfriend's confused state at the moment. "I've missed you." She confesses before changing positions again so that she's hovering over Santana. She then presses her lips against the brunette's, taking her bottom one between her own and sucking on it gently. It definitely makes Santana feel more awake and alert.
After kissing for a minute or so, Santana reluctantly breaks the kiss. She knows that it's late and she wants nothing more than to make out with her girlfriend, but before she does that she wants to know how her meeting with Sugar went. She's guessing by the blonde's cheery mood that it went well, but she wants to make sure just in case.
"How did the meeting with Sugar go?" She questions, allowing Brittany to lie back on top of her. "Did the two of you get everything sorted out?"
"It went really well, we both apologised to each other and talked everything out. She told me that I didn't need to move out, but I told her that me moving out was inevitable and that I'm looking forward into finding a new house that you, me and Cassidy can live in." She confesses. "Sugar said that she's going to stay with Rory for a few more days just because she likes staying at his apartment and she also said that you're welcome to stay with us whenever you want. I told her that we would be taking advantage of that since we need to practice living together anyway."
"Well you've got a point there, we do need to practice living together." Santana agrees. "I'm glad the two of you have sorted everything out."
"I am too." Brittany yawns. "What's even better is now that we're officially dating we can sleep in the same bed." She adds, trailing her hand slowly down Santana's leg.
Santana instantly picks up on her girlfriend's flirty behaviour and even though she's tired, she doesn't want to waste the opportunity of having a quick make out session with her. Taking control, Santana rolls them over so that she's on top of Brittany and kisses her hungrily. They've not really had the chance to do this all day since they've been so busy with Cassidy, so it comes as no surprise when Brittany eagerly returns the kiss, slipping her tongue past the Latina's already parted lips. The contact causes them both to gasp into each other's mouths and Santana brings one of her hands up and tangles it in Brittany's hair, brining them closer together.
As the kiss progresses, Brittany unintentionally cants her hips upwards, wanting to feel Santana and the contact causes them both to moan simultaneously. Santana smirks at her eagerness and pushes her hips back down, which causes the women below her to groan in frustration. She loves being in charge. Unable to take the teasing any longer, Brittany slips her hand under the Latina's shirt and drags her nails up her abs, causing Santana's stomach muscles to tense.
"Take it off." Brittany orders breathlessly, breaking the kiss so that she can get some air. "I want to see you."
"I'll take mines off if you take yours off." Santana breathes out. "I want to see you too."
As soon as the words escape Santana's lips, Brittany's mood changes and the lustful look that was on her face is replaced with one of fear and insecurity. She struggles and wriggles beneath the Latina on top of her, trying to escape, sighing in frustration when it doesn't work. "Let me up, please!" She demands, her heartbeat increasing as she does so.
Sensing that something is wrong, Santana lets Brittany up and watches as the blonde builds her walls back up right in front of her very eyes. She knows that the reason Brittany is acting like this is because she doesn't want her to touch her, but Santana still can't understand why that is. Everything was working out perfectly between them, right up until she asked Brittany to take her top off and considering she was going to take one off too, she doesn't understand why it's such a big deal. Her eyes travel back to Brittany and she sees that her girlfriend has drawn her knees up to her chest and is hugging them tightly so she crawls over to her and places a comforting hand on her shoulder, doing her best to let her know that she's there to support her.
"Brittany what's going on?" Santana asks a few minutes later once she's sure that Brittany is breathing normally and isn't as tense as she was previously. "Why won't you let me touch you?"
Brittany is quiet for a moment as she gathers up her thoughts. "I'm on my period." She says, keeping her gaze trained on the ground. "It would be gross if you touched me."
Santana sighs in frustration because she knows that Brittany is lying to her. She's well aware that Brittany's period is at the start of every month and she's always on time because she's still on the pill and because Santana had to nip out and buy her tampons a week or so ago. "Brittany I know you're lying to me." She states firmly, doing her best not to sound intimidating since she doesn't want to scare her girlfriend. "Please just tell me what's wrong."
"Can we please just drop it?" She pleads weakly. "It's not important and I don't understand why you want to talk about, Santana. You know that I love you and I'm more than happy to show that I do. As long as you're receiving pleasure from what we're doing in the bedroom and I'm not leaving you high and dry, then I don't understand what the problem is."
Santana's hurt by Brittany's words. She's hurt by them because she can't believe that this is how Brittany views their relationship. All Santana wants to be able to do is to return the favour to Brittany and show her how much she loves and appreciates her, but she can't do that because every time she tries to, the blonde stops her. Santana would quite happily trade places with her girlfriend, so that she would be the one giving and Brittany would be the one receiving if she could. The fact that Brittany won't let her touch her makes her feel terrible.
"How can you say that?" Santana challenges, the hurt clear in her voice. "I love you so much, but I feel as if I can't truly show you that because you won't let me. It's like I'm failing at being your girlfriend and that I'm doing something wrong because you won't let me touch you."
Santana thinks that her words must have had an effect on Brittany because the blonde suddenly grows quiet. She slowly pulls away from Santana's touch, missing the comfort as soon as she does so, and crawls over to the other side of the fort to create some distance between them. Everything seems a little bit overwhelming right now. "I-I think I s-should go to bed." She stutters out quietly. "I don't want to talk about this any more."
Just before she exits the fort, Santana springs into action and gently grabs onto Brittany's wrist, stopping her from going anywhere. She's not going to let Brittany run away from their problems once again, she's already done it too many times before. She forces herself to block out the sounds of Brittany pleading for her to let her go because even though she feels like a terrible person for keeping a hold on her, Santana knows that if she wants to get to the bottom of this problem then she has to. There's no other way. She doesn't know how long she has to keep a grip on Brittany's wrist, but the blonde eventually stops struggling against her and collapses to the ground, sobbing loudly as she does so.
Allowing her maternal instincts to take over, Santana attempts to scoop her girlfriend up into her arms. However, she's shocked to find that when she tries to, the blonde shrugs her off and moves to the corner of the fort, bringing her knees back up into her chest once again. "Brittany, baby please talk to me." Santana begs over the sound of her girlfriend crying. "I want to be able to help you."
Brittany doesn't verbally reply to Santana's request and instead she just shakes her head, too upset to speak. She wipes the tears away from her eyes, but as soon as she does so new ones just appear. She knows that she's overreacting and that she's probably making a big deal out of nothing, but Santana is trying to talk to her about her biggest insecurity and she doesn't know if she can do that. It's the one that has caused the most problems for her for the past couple of years, and she's scared that if she talks about it then it will ruin her even more.
"Britt, honey." Santana speaks again, shuffling over to where the other woman is sitting. "I know that you're uncomfortable talking about this, but we have to do it. I promise I'm not going to judge you, I just need you to talk to me so that I can understand what you're going through."
Brittany takes a deep breath and exhales slowly before turning her attention towards Santana. She tentatively reaches out and grabs one of the Latina's hands because right now she needs some sort of physical reassurance that her girlfriend isn't going to go anywhere. "I don't want you to touch me because my body is disgusting." She admits shyly. "I hate my body Santana, and I'm scared that if I show you then you will hate it too. You have no idea how disgusting it looks. It's covered in scars and stretch marks and whenever I look at it in the mirror it makes me feel sick. I know that if you see it then you'll probably feel the same and my biggest fear is losing you."
Santana takes a minute to process everything that she's been told and she feels her heart sink as she does so. She never realised how big of a problem Brittany's body was for her, and now she feels horrible knowing that she forced her into talking about it. Being careful not to startle her, Santana wraps one of her arms around Brittany's shoulder and isn't phased at all when the blonde practically launches herself into her embrace. Brittany just needs some love right now.
"Brittany, you carried our daughter for nine months and made sure that she was healthy and safe while doing so. You gave life to one of the most important people in my life. You're always going to be the most beautiful woman on this planet in my eyes." She whispers into Brittany's ear, holding her as tightly as possible. "I will always love you."
"You're lying." Brittany shakes her head, knowing that she's fighting a losing battle. "You won't love me after you see me."
"I love you more than I have ever loved anyone else in the entire world." She states as she slowly begins to lie back down onto the ground, taking Brittany with her. They lay side by side, but the Latina opens up her arms and allows Brittany to curl into her body, knowing that's where she feels safest. "I can understand why you're insecure about your body baby, and I'm not going to tell you that it doesn't matter because obviously to you it does. Britt, I love you for you. I love you because you're the most beautiful, talented, funny and kind-hearted person I have ever met in my life. Your body is just a bonus, and if it takes us years for us to get to the stage where you're comfortable with showing me it then I'm willing to wait. I'll do whatever I can to prove to you that you're beautiful."
"I'm sorry for being so insecure." Brittany apologises, snuggling further into her girlfriend's warm embrace. She has no idea what else to say to Santana because somehow the brunette always knows what to say to make her feel better or to make all of her problems seem less scary than they actually are. "I just don't want to disappoint you."
"You could never disappoint me, and you don't need to apologise for being insecure about your body. I don't want you to ever apologise for the way that you're feeling." The brunette insists. "I love every single part of you, and that includes your insecurities. We're a team now, Britt and we're going to beat the problem together."
Brittany doesn't understand how she got so lucky to have someone like Santana in her life.

Sorry for the wait. I've had deadlines to meet for school and stuff and it's just been hell. I guess I was too ambitious asking for 700 reviews lol. Can we get it this time?
Oh yeah, important announcement. There's only 4 chapters left of this, but don't worry there will be a sequel! (it's already been planned) When I stated writing this fic the plan I had in my mind was that Brittana would get back together and be a family with Cassidy. That's practically happened now. Anyway, I know a lot of you wanted to see them with another baby so maybe that will happen in the sequel? You'll just need to read it and find out.
Let me know what you think of the update. Your reviews are the only things that encourage me to keep going
