One Week Later

Finn got up out of the bed. It was still going through his mind. The monster. Fionna's memory loss. He felt out of it in all sorts. He had a lot to think about. Flame Prince couldn't tell him anything. He was no help as far as how to help Fionna get back her memory. The only thing he could say about the monster is that he'd never heard anything quite like it. This was a new breed of monster that he had not seen or heard about.

Fionna couldn't help but feel like she had lost something. Like she lost something great. She kept asking around but no one would tell her anything. She went about her day making sure that everything was done before they had to go back out and fight. She started to see some things that she didn't recognize. Things that appeared like they belonged to Finn, but why would they be here in her room? She needed some answers. She needed to talk to Finn. She eventually found Finn out near the edge of the woods chopping wood for his workout. They needed it done anyway and She knew that this also helped calm him down. There was something bothering him. That much she could see.

"Finn? You got a second?"

"Hunh? Oh yeah! Of course I do."

"I was cleaning up my room today, and I have a lot of things that I don't ever remember getting, or making. You also have some of your stuff in there as well. Why?"

"I guess that blow to your head really did a lot.. A lot of those things in room I gave to you. They were gifts. You know... Because we were dating. Then you took that blow to the head from that monster. I didn't realize the extent of it until now... You've forgotten everything about us..."

Fionna took a step back. That's why she felt how she did. She felt glad that they had something. In a way she knew they did. Things weren't the same though. The memories weren't there. She only kind of liked Finn. She got worried. What if she never got her memory back?

"Finn... I'm so sorry..."

"It's not your fault. You couldn't have avoided this. It's not like you wanted it. Well... Hopefully that's not the case.

"Well... We can try again. I mean... If we worked out before it'll work again."

Finn felt happy. It wouldn't be like before, but at least he would be getting another shot. Something that he didn't think he would be getting with Fionna ever again.

"Wow... That would be amazing. I can't believe it... I didn't think we'd ever... I'm sorry."

"There's nothing to apologize for. You're always so silly."

Fionna giggled and gave Finn a hug. Finn blushed.

There was a crackle of flames in the air and Flame Prince and Flame Princess appeared.

"Well it looks like you two were probably meant for each other."

Finn looked at Flame Princess and turned red at her comment.

Flame Prince looked at them and said, "Tomorrow is a big day. There's someone we've been tracking and we need to have him brought back alive. Your job is simple. Just tag and bag, then bring them back here."

Finn seemed uneasy about this. Things were never that simple.

"What's the catch? What is it that you're not telling us."

"Nothing you guys can't handle. Just their state of the art security that you'll have to find a way through."

"Oh... well... This should be pretty easy then."

"Good. You and Fionna will leave tomorrow morning. Make sure your stuff is packed and ready to go. Here's a picture of the guy by the way. This is the guy that you will be having to capture. Good Luck."

Finn and Fionna went back to their rooms and started packing up. Finn couldn't wait to get this mission going. Missions generally took his mind off of things. After a while Finn went over to Fionna's room, and knocked.

"Come in!"

Finn slowly opened the door and stepped inside.

"So how long do you think it'll take until we get this guy?"

"I dunno... I say an hour."

"Alright. I think we should go to sleep here in a little bit. Big day tomorrow."

Fionna motioned Finn over to her.

"It's a long walk to your room. Just sleep here tonight."

Finn didn't have to be told twice. In two seconds he was out of his clothes and in the bed. Fionna was shocked how fast it had happened. But she kinda liked it. She thought he was going to be shy about it.

She eventually slipped into bed and they went to sleep.

They woke up the next day around 0730. Finn looked over to Fionna. He leaned over and kissed her. Her eyes fluttered open.

"You ready to go?"

"Yeah."

They got up and got dressed. They went to the kitchen together and had breakfast. It was a nice eloquent breakfast. They had everything. Omellettes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and hashbrowns. They ate there for a little while. When they finished up, they went out to the plaza to meet up with Flame Princess and Flame Prince to get the rest of the details.

Flame Prince was there alone to meet them. Flame Princess was apparently on a mission of her own and wouldn't be back for a while.

They got the details of the mission. The house they were supposed to infiltrate had three floors. The room that they had to get to was in the very center of the house. This place was also in the city, so it would be a little harder to get the guy out. For anyone else this mission might seem like it would be impossible, but to Finn and Fionna, it would be one of the easier things they had done.

Finn and Fionna set out on their way. It would take them roughly a day to get to where they needed to go.

Fionna got to relearn all about Finn. She found him amazing. She learned about all his likes and dislikes. She also liked how much he remembered about her. But then again, he never forgot anything. He already knew things to say and the places to touch that drove her crazy. In a good way of course.

They finally got to the city. They went and stayed at the inn for the night. Surveillance would start the next day.

The room they got was pretty nice. It had a queen sized bed and also had a nice view of the city.

"Fionna... Can you tell me what that building looks like?"

Fionna walked over to the window. Instantly she recognized it. It was the house they were going to be surveilling the next day. Right there from their window. Looking the house over it had a few security features that would take a little more time to traverse, but nothing they couldn't handle. There were 9 guards that patrolled the perimeter. There were another three guards overlooking the lawn. It was a really nice house.

"We could go now."

"What?"

"Think Finn.. we could go now and get it done with and bring him back here. We have enough tranq to put him out for a while."

"Well... I guess we could..."

"And... I'll make it worth your while if we do."

She winked at him seductively. She had a feeling that it would work. She was right. Finn grew red, but recovered.

"Sure. Let's go then."

He and Fionna got ready and headed out to the house.

They got to the gate and managed to find a way inside. The guards were easy to slip by. Some of them didn't even look like they wanted to be there. Fionna made it to the door and started unlocking it. She heard a click and slipped in. Finn followed close behind. Fionna stopped at the stairs and sprayed some mist. It revealed what looked to be red beams everywhere. Finn looked at her with concern. She nodded towards him and continued a little more carefully. They spent the better part of ten minutes traversing the beams.

They finally got to the second floor where they needed to go. Finn crept around and saw a guard walking their way.

"Yeah I thought I heard it too. It's probably a mouse. You know how scared Blyrone gets. His name cracks me up."

The guard seemed to be on a communication device. He walked right by Finn and Fionna without even noticing they were there. This was going to be a lot easier than they thought.

It took them five minutes but they finally found the door they were searching for. They checked the door for any traps and slowly opened it. Inside there was humming. There was a guy in the bathroom. one guard was posted near the bed. Finn quickly snuck up to him and hit a few pressure points. The guard dropped immediately.

The man in the bathroom came out to see the guy on the floor minutes later. It was the guy they were looking for. He looked a little bit bigger than what they saw on the photos. Finn and Fionna quickly came up and dispatched him with a few well placed blows and just for good measure shot him with a tranq.

Now the difficult part came. How to get him out and back.

"With a house like this there has to be some sort of secret passage out right?"

"I would think so."

Finn and Fionna spent the next hour searching the room until Fionna's hand brushed something on the wall. She pressed it. The bookshelf moved and revealed a passage way. It was a spiral staircase. They grabbed the man. Finn slung him on his shoulders and Fireman carried the man down the passage way. They finally got down the stairs and found another door to open. Finn was sure they were underground by now. They got fifty feet in and the door closed behind them. They went along the passage way for about twenty minutes. The came to the end and opened it up. They were in an alley way. They stepped outside and looked around. They were close to the inn much to their surprise. They were able to get the man into their room with no trouble and tied him up into a chair and went to sleep. They decided if anything, they interrogate him in the morning.

After making sure he was secured, they gagged him and then went to sleep.

They woke up and made sure the guy was still there. He wasn't concious yet but was moving around a little. Finn took the gag out and waited for him to wake up.

His eyes fluttered open.

"W-where am I? Who... Ah yes. Finn and Fionna. I tell you what. You two are as good if not better than what he told me..."

Finn started in on the questioning.

"What is your name and who do you work for?"

"My name is Markus. As for the second question, I believe you already know. Felix has high praise for you. Unfortunatly I can't let you take me back to Flame Prince."

"I don't think you really have a choice..."

"Ahh but I do. You see. Felix makes sure that none of his assets are ever comprimised. By the way. He says you two have passed the second test. He wanted to not only see your physical prowess and also your intellectual side of this. Flame Prince should have realized he was playing right into Felix's hands."

Markus moved his tongue revealing a blue pill. He chomped down and started foaming. He started choking and then went unconscious. Finn checked his pulse but there wasn't one.

"We should probably get out of here."

"Yeah, Let's go Finn. But first we need to search him make sure that we can get everything."

They searched Markus and only found a few papers. They took them and left. It didn't take them as long to get back as it did traveling to that city. When they got back they held councel with Flame Prince and told him everything that happened.

"And this pill... It was blue?"

"Yeah. He just foamed up and died. He had no pulse. So we searched him, found these and then we left."

"He's still alive. These papers however are immaculate. I may not have the man but I do have these. Oh and oddly enough this one is addressed to you to. Go ahead and open it and read it."

Finn. Fionna. Congratulations. You two never cease to amaze me. If you found this then you should know that you passed the second test. But these weren't as complicated. I have two of your friends. They are captives of mine. If you want them back you'll have to give me something that I want. Something not easy to get. I'm feeling generous. I'll give you two weeks from the time I send the item names. Good luck.
