If you have not already, please go back and read chapter 20. It was an author's note before and now it is an actual chapter. I have decided to run with my stories without the cd I have that already has them written. I will just adjust them if I ever find the stupid disc. haha. Happy reading!
The kids went down easily that night. Jax and Wendy sat out on the patio. Wendy had a glass of water and Jax had a beer. They were sitting there enjoying the calm of Florida. Jax looked over at her.
"I can't believe that we are even here," he said.
"It's crazy," she agreed.
"The kids seemed to have a lot of fun today."
"Yeah they did. I can't believe how much Harlee likes the water."
Yeah she does. A little fish just like her brothers."
Wendy nodded. Jax smiled.
"So what do you want to do while we are here?" she asked.
"Disney?" he questioned.
"Wasn't sure that was something you wanted to do while we were here."
"The boys would like it. Harlee wouldn't remember it."
"True but we can do other things as well. She isn't going to remember any of this trip."
"That's true too."
"So really it's our choice as to what we want to do."
"Let's do Sea World."
Wendy nodded. She pulled out her phone to look up tickets. They also decided to go to Magic Kingdom while they were there.
"What about looking at housing?" he asked.
"I've been looking a bit online. I was thinking of taking a day or so to maybe look at some places." she said.
"Sounds good. Just to have an idea of what we may be looking at if we move here."
She nodded. They went inside to head to bed. Wendy had to take care of Harlee before she joined Jax in the bed. The boys were both sound asleep still.
*Next morning*
Abel was up first, really excited to not have to go to school. Wendy got up when Harlee began to cry. She got her up, changed and sat down to feed her while Jax got Thomas up and both boys fed. They were headed to the beach for the day. Wendy was ready with a ton of sunscreen for all three kids. They loaded the kids up and headed off to the beach. Wendy stayed on top of everything all day. The kids loved the ocean. They played on the beach with Jax, building a sand castle. Wendy would pull them out and dry them off so she could apply more sunscreen. She wasn't going to allow the kids to get sunburned.
"Let's go get some lunch at one of these restaurants," she suggested.
Jax nodded. He pulled on a shirt and helped the boys do the same. Wendy pulled on a pair of shorts and helped Thomas with his sandals. Abel put his sandals on. They headed up to one of the local restaurants on the beach. Jax carried Harlee. They got a table. Jax sat down with Harlee in his lap. They ordered their lunch.
"I saw some shells I want to take home," Abel said.
"Well after lunch we can go shell collecting," Jax told him.
"Ok."
"But you have to eat all of your lunch."
Abel nodded. They got their food. Thomas was playing with his fries.
"Bubs, you need to eat," Wendy said.
"Ok," Thomas replied.
"Then we can go play again,"
He nodded. She was glad that they were getting to be little kids. She smiled. After lunch they went for a walk before the boys were allowed to go back into the water. Wendy also applied more sunscreen. Jax and the boys collected shells as well. Abel was really excited about one of the shells that he found. He ran back up to the blanket where Wendy was relaxing with Harlee. The little girl was sound asleep. Abel plopped down on the blanket and handed the shell to Wendy.
"Mom I found this for you," he said.
"Thank you buddy," she replied.
"You're welcome."
"I love you Abel."
"Love you."
He giggled and ran off. She smiled. Every day was a step further into their lives. She still felt bad that it only happened because Tara had passed away and they had thought they lost Jax. She was glad that Jax was around to see the boys grow up and knew that Tara was watching them from above.
They headed back to the hotel later that night to get some dinner. The boys were completely exhausted. They were pretty much out right after dinner. Wendy and Jax had to carry them to bed. She got Harlee fed and down for the night. She and Jax went back out to the deck to relax together. He reached over and took her hand. She smiled at him as she drank from her glass. He was gently playing with her fingers.
"Today was fun," he said.
"Yeah it was. The boys had a blast," she agreed.
"What's the plan for tomorrow?"
"Sea World."
"Sounds fun."
She nodded. She was still trying to decide if she wanted to be in the sun all the time or if them going to a place that would get more seasons would be good. She knew that they would have a good time the next day. She stood up and kissed Jax's cheek.
"I'm going to bed," she said.
"I'll be in as soon as I finish this beer," he replied.
"Ok."
She walked inside and checked on all the kids. She went to bed.
