Hello everyone. My biggest apologies, but I am doing an entire overhaul of my works so this is for those of you who still wish to know what I have written before I re-write it.
Chapter 21: New Students take two
Iaf was in a happy mood the next morning, she was humming happily as she getting her stuff together, doing her hair and putting her uniform "you know, we're going to need your help this morning, right?" Sorrow called out from the next room "okay then, that's fine" she replied and put away her hairbrush, when she exited her room she saw Sorrow in the hallway walking over to him she blocked him off from moving "so what inspired this little escapade?" she asked, her silver eyes narrowed "why so suspicious Hikari? You act like I'm doing something horrible" he replied with a smirk, Hikari glared at him "with you I never know. For all I know, this is some ploy to get close to all of Iaf's friends and keep them away from Iaf" she told him, Sorrow's smirk disappeared. In a flash he had spun them around and had Hikari pinned against the wall "look, Iaf is one of the only friends I have, now my job may be to protect her at all costs but as her friend my first priority is her happiness, and even someone as dense as me can tell that these people make her happy. That's why I'm doing this, for her... and Nat, we never went to a proper school so this is a good chance for him to get an education" he explained, no trace of his usual joking or teasing manner anywhere. Hikari was stunned silent, Sorrow picked up the jacket he dropped when Hikari cornered him and walked off.
Iaf blinked in surpise and looked around in confusion, a feeling of guilt in her heart that had no memories to go with. The doorbell rang grabbing her attention "I'll get it!" she called out and went down the stairs towards the door, when she opened the door she pulled a big grin on her face "hey boy, how have you been?" she asked as she gave the visitor a head a pat "what about me?" her other visitor asked, Iaf gave him a smile "sorry Kiba, but I greet the good looking one's first, isn't that right Akamaru?" she replied scratching Akamaru behind his ears, Akamaru barked happily, Kiba huffed "oh that's nice" he pouted, Iaf laughed "so are you ready to go?" Kiba asked, Iaf gasped "oh crap, I'm sorry but I can't go with you today. I have something I need to do before I can go to school, once again I'm sorry" she told him, Kiba blinked surprised "oh no it's fine, I'll let the others know you'll be late" he replied, Iaf smiled "thank you so much Kiba"
Waving goodbye Kiba left and Iaf closed the door "you could have gone with him" Iaf looked up at Sorrow "it's fine I want to make sure you guys don't get in any trouble this morning" she teased, Sorrow rolled his eyes "you know you can talk to Nat and I right? You and Shadow are the only friends we have so we want you to be happy" he told her, Iaf blinked in surprise before smiling softly "thank you Sorrow"
"Awww! How sweet!" the two looked around to see Shadow and Nat watching them from the doorway, Nat was trying to hide a smile behind his hand and Shadow had this 'I just witnessed something romantic' look on her face "whats with that look?!" Iaf and Sorrow shouted, red in the face, Shadow giggled "oh no reason"
(At The Gym)
Everyone was in the gym waiting for he teacher "hey where's Iaf-chan?" Naruto asked "yeah I noticed she wasn't here" Temari commented "uh Naruto I've already told you, Iaf said she would be late because she had somehing she needed to do before coming here" Kiba explained "you know what that thing was?" Sasuke asked, Kiba shook his head "nope, I don't pry into others business"
Everyone laughed "what?"
"You're always poking your nose into everyone's business" Shino commented, Kiba huffed and was about to reply when Guy stepped into the gym 'alright class, today we'll do a few warm-ups then small game of t-ball and at the end of the class we'll have a race around the oval" he explained "where's Aros-san?"
"Not here sir, she had something important to do, so she'll be a little late" Kiba called out, Guy nodded "alright then, everyone into pairs and begin the warm up exercises"
Everyone got into pairs and began the exercises except for Shikamaru who was the odd one out and just napped on the stage, it was halfway through the exercises that Iaf arrived "Iaf-chan!" Naruto shouted having been the first to spot her, everyone looked at her "hi guys" she called out with a small smile "where's the teacher?" she asked "in his office, talking on the phone" Shikamaru replied from his spot on the stage as Iaf approched him, Iaf nodded and skimmed her eyes over everyone as they continued on with their exercises her eyes paused on a couple "I didn't know Tayuya-chan and Kabuto-san were in this class" she commented "ahhh, well they weren't here last time so we didn't think to mention it when you asked" Shikamaru replied, Iaf was about to reply when Guy came out of his office "ah Aros-san! I heard you were bringing me new students" he said to the surprise of everyone "yes sir, I left them outside so they wouldn't distrupt the class. I'll go get them" Iaf replied and everyone looked between the two in confusion, as Iaf walked towards the door Guy pulled everone's attention to him "now I've just been informed that we have a couple of new students today and I want you to treat them nicely" he told them, Ino raised her hand "yes Yamanaka-san?"
"Do you know who these people are?" she asked "no but you can ask them yourselves here they are" Guy replied and everyone turned to see Iaf and two boys, their jaws hit the floor.
"This is the gym, it's so small"
"Ah but Sorrow, you must remember that this is probably big to normal people"
"Ah your right, that's sad"
"It is rude to say that"
"So?"
"Would you two please shut up?" Iaf muttered rubbing her forehead.
"Okay you two introduse yourselves" Guy called out to them, the two boys looked at him "holy shit, is that the teacher? *cough* I'm Sorrow, hope we can tolorate each other" Sorrow said with a face of indifference, the other boy shook his head and sighed before looking up and smiling "I'm Natsume, pleased to meet you all, hope we can get along" he said, Guy nodded "good, I'm Might Guy your Sports and Health teacher. Alright everyone warm ups are finished let's go to the oval now"
Everyone got up and grabbed their stuff, Sorrow and Nat got called over by the teacher and the Konoha grouptook the chance to converge on Iaf "hey guys" she said meekly "so that important thing you had to do was that?" Kiba asked, Iaf nodded "right, those two are the Sorrow and Nat I told you guys about," she pointed to Tenten, Choji and Temari "I got home last night to find them there, I was so surprised but apparently they got permission from my mother to join me here and decided to enrol in the school" she explained "sorry but who are they?" Sakura asked "oh right, Sorrow and Nat are two orphans my parents adopted when I was six. They are like family to me" Iaf replied "let me guess they are protective when it comes to you?" Sasuke asked, Iaf blinked at him "how'd you know?" she asked, he shook his head "lucky guess" he replied "anyway, what are we doing?" Iaf asked "playing t-ball" Neji replied "what's t-ball?" three voises echoed, the konoha group turned to see Sorrow and Natsume standing behind them wearing the same look of confusion that Iaf was now sporting oh wow, them too? the konoha group thought in unison.
The game was explained to them as they sat down on the edge of the oval, they were just finishing their explaination when Guy spoke up "alright people you can keep the teams you were on last time, Sorrow, Kabuto, you two can go on team 2, other two, other team" he directed, everyone moved into the teams "hey Iaf" Kisame greeted as he and Sasori moved over towards them "hi Kisame-san and Sasori-san, how are you?" she asked "good" they replied "what about yourself? You escorting new students?" Sasori asked his curiosity having been piqued "uh, well those two were a special case, they're childhood friends that have been living with me since last night" she explained "on the otherhand I'm a bit nervous about this game, the others explained what I'm supposed to do in it but I'm afraid I'll stuff up of do something wrong"
"Wait, you've never played t-ball?" Kisame asked, Iaf shook her head "no, Nat, Sorrow and I have never even heard of it before" she told them, the two Akatsuki members were shocked "Iaf? Who are they?" the three turned to find Natsume standing next to them "oh right I should probably introduce you to everyone. Nat this is Kisame-san and Sasori-san, they're part of the Akatsuki, it a group here at school. Kasame-san, Sasori-san this is my childhood friend Natsume" the three said their hello's before the teacher spoke up again "alright now teams pick your captain" he said. Everyone in the team crowded around eachother "so who are we going to have as captain?" Iaf asked "well..." everyone looked at Nat who had a thoughtful look on his face "it would have to be someone with good leadership and stratigic skills along with knowing about everyones skills and weaknesses to be able to place them accordingly..." Nat trailed off when he noticed everyone looking at him "sorry, it's a habit" he said with a light blush on his cheeks "oh it's fine we were just surprised that's all, but you have helped us with who to pick" Temari said with a scowl "well he is the smartest person in the entire school" Neji commented "who is?" Iaf asked, the others turned and pointed "Shikamaru?"
"What?" Shikamaru looked up from his napping spot just outside the group to see him being looked at by everyone "you're the smartest person in the school?" Iaf asked, he shrugged "depends on your definition of smart, I have the highest IQ out of everyone in the school but there are even things I don't know" he told her, Iaf nodded in understanding "yes well, you're still smarter then us so you're captain" Temari growled, Shikamaru sighed "ahh, what a drag... is everyone okay with it?" he asked, the konoha group looked at the two Akatsuki members "that's fine, we know of Nara-san's ability" Sasori commented, Shikamaru nodded and shifted into a crouched position "what's he doing?" Nat asked "he's thinking" Sasuke commented "like that?" Iaf questioned "h-habit?" Hinata guessed.
Guy called out after a few minutes "alright then, flip of a coin heads or tails, team 1?" everyone was silent "um heads" Iaf spoke up when it was clear no one else was, Guy flipped the coin and caught it again "heads, you choice bat or field first?" he asked "uh-"
"We'll field" Shikamaru said standing up "we will?" Kiba asked "yes, with Iaf and Natsume-san not know how to play the best place for them to start off is in the field also we'll be able to gauge the other teams running speed and who to hit it towards and who to avoid" Shikamaru explained quietly, the others nodded in understanding "team 2, you're batting first!" Guy called out.
(Game Match to be filled in)
"Okay people, let's pack this up then after a five minute break we'll have our race"
"Race?" Iaf and Sorrow questioned "oh right, you weren't here at the beginning" Guy commented "we're going to end today with a lap race around the oval" he explained, Iaf jumped up and pointed a finger at Sorrow "you won't win this one, pretty boy!" she shouted with a big grin, silver eyes flashing with excitement "bring it on Hika-chan, I'll be happy to let you eat my dust again" Sorrow replied standing up and glaring challengingly at Hikari who glared right back "wow, you must have a death wish if you're calling me that awful name" she growled "all the better to piss you off my dear" Sorrow teased, sparks flew and you could almost see the electricity between them "oh wow, this is brilliant youthful rivalry going on here!" Guy cheered happily "change of plans, race is optional and changed to a lap around the entire school, you can either join or become officials" he decided "if you're stepping up you better keep up" Sorrow commented to the others "although with the speeds I saw in the game, you'll never be able to"
"Oi I take offence to that!" Naruto shouted "he has a point though... no offence" Hikari injected "It sounds like fun and I can show my true strength!" Lee shouted getting pumped up "and I'm going to kick your ass" Naruto growled glaring at Sorrow who snorted "boy you better hope you can back up those words" he replied "oh dear, Sorrow and Hikari are really fired up" Nat sighed "can't we stop them, they look like they're about to go kill someone" Sakura asked from nearby "nope so as the old saying goes 'if you can't beat them, join them' I'm in as well" Nat said stepping forward "awesome, now I might actually have a challenge" Sorrow grinned and gave Nat a pat on the back "no now you'll come third instead of second" Hikari laughed "I'm joining too"
Hikari looked over and gave a sly grin "wonderful"
"What's that supposed to fuckin' mean?" Hidan growled as he walked up to her, Hikari merely looked up at him when he stopped next to her not the least bit intimidated "it means that I can't wait to see how well you do. You see unlike Iaf I actually like you, so I want to find out what all your abilities are" Hikari explained "but granted that if you hurt Iaf and I won't hesitate to hurt you twice as bad"
"Oi Hika-chan! Stop flirting and get ready to lose!" Sorrow shouted at her, a frown on his face. Hikari looked over at him "oh are you jealous baby, don't worry I still love you" she teased, Sorrow rolled his eyes and rubbed his forehead "oh yes because your love is what I want" he sniped quietly to himself before lightly sighing.
"Alright, anyone else joining?" Guy inquired "sure why not, sounds like fun" Kiba said as he and Tenten stood up "Tenten, glad to see another girl is up to the challenge" Hikari chirped.
"Okay then everyone else follow along the path I've mapped out and put one person at a checkpoint, I'll start the race when I see the last person reach the last checkpoint which is over there" Guy explained as he pointed to the area that would be the checkpoint.
