Chapter 21: Lisa looks around China
When they got to the Forbidden City, Lisa and all of the teams got out of the bus with Mr. Wang and they entered the Meridian Gate. When they got in, they were impressed with the architecture of the whole forbidden city.
"Wow! This place has historic value in it! This is a great place to learn about China!", exclaimed Lisa with happiness.
"It sure is honey. This is a place where Chinese History comes together.", said Blaze.
Sonic decides to ask to see if he is permitted to run. "Hey, um, Mr. Wang? Is it okay if I can run around the Forbidden City? I have not run in a while and I promise you that I will not bump into people or injured them in any way possible.", asked Sonic.
Mr. Wang thinks for a moment and said, "Be careful.". Sonic takes it as a yes and he runs through the Forbidden City real fast. Mr. Wang worried about Sonic is actually going to get an "accident" to the Chinese People.
"Okay! Stop running!", yelled Mr. Wang.
Sonic stops running and angrily yells, "What!?".
"You stop running. Me do not want to get trouble for your accident.", explained Mr. Wang.
"Hold on a moment .", said Lisa to Mr. Wang. Then, she turns around to Sonic. "So Sonic, have you seen my pen pal there? His name is Sanmao and he is a small child who has three strands of hair. Literally.", asked Lisa.
Sonic thinks about it for a moment and said, "I have not seen a three haired boy. In fact, I have not seen anybody who is homeless inside this Forbidden City.", answered Sonic. Lisa is feeling a bit sad.
"Thanks anyway Sonic. You can keep talking to anyway.", said Lisa. Sonic and decided to argue about what is going on. Some of the Chinese and foreigners looks at them strangely.
"Do you guys wanted to continue looking around the Forbidden City?", asked Lisa.
"Yeah! I wanted to know how much have they develop China into what is today.", answered Peach.
"This place is good enough to look around anyway.", answered Amy.
"Yeah. I wanted to make a closer relations between my Sarasaland Kingdom and China. We do have similarities when it comes to culture.", answered Daisy.
Some of the teams said that they wanted to do something else while others says that they wanted to keep looking around. Lisa decides to make a vote and said, "All right! How about this? Please raise your hands on if you wanted to look around the Forbidden City!". She counted them and it is about 18 people, including Mr. Wang.
"All right! How many do you guys wish to just stop looking around Forbidden City?", questioned Lisa and she counts only 4 hands that said no.
"Okay then. Let's keep looking around the Forbidden City. Let's go!", exclaimed Lisa and leads them to looking around the Forbidden City.
Chun-Li orders the western-style coffin for her mother already and Chun-Li told Rosalina and Cream to remove all the mirror in her house because she had a belief that if some person sees a reflection of a coffin in the mirror yet another death would happen to her very soon. Chun-Li covers the white cloth on the door way.
"Rosalina and Cream? Did you bring your white clothes? It is supposed to represent sadness in Chinese appropriately?", asked Chun-Li.
"Yeah, I have it. But there is red at the bottom of my dress, would that be okay?", asked Rosalina.
"Nope. I guess I have to go buy you guys some clothes. I have enough money.", said Chun Li and Chun-Li turns on her car. Chun-Li sits on the front while Rosalina and Cream sits on the back. They were driving to the store to get the white dress.
Chun-Li buys the white dresses for Rosalina, Cream, and herself. They ask her why is she buying white clothes that something that is associate the mourning. She told them that her mother had recently passed away and they have to have a quick funeral due to her being poor.
After that, they went home again and they all dressed in white. Then, they get into the car to get to their funeral home. When they got there, the entrance to the funeral home, the gong is on the right of the entrance and they got in.
They got there and the funeral home worker already does other things on the body of the dead including putting white clothes on a dead mother of Chun-Li. Then, they follow the wake. Due to the poorness of Chun-Li, the wake will only last a single day. Chun-Li is expected to keep an overnight vigil for at least one night in which the mother of Chun-Li picture, flowers, and candles are placed around the body.
During the wake, Rosalina and Cream bring white flowers, which are elaborate wreaths that include banners with couplets written on them, and white envelopes filled with cash that Chun-Li gave advice to Rosalina and Cream.
Chun-Li burns joss paper to ensure her mother has a safe journey. Fake paper money and miniature items like cars, houses, and televisions are burned. An eulogy is given.
After the tourism of the Forbidden City, Lisa seems to talk about what she has learned.
"Wow. The Forbidden City has great historical facts! This 'city' has been built in 1406 for 14 years!", exclaimed Lisa in happiness.
"Yep. That is how the cities has been built. So, where are we going to now?", asked Blaze.
"We go the Great Wall of China in Simatai.", answered .
"Why do we have to the Great Wall of China? Isn't that cliche?", asked Bart.
"Shut up!", exclaimed Nelson.
"Hey, hey. Our kind of media may seem to think that the Great Wall of China is the whole part of China and it has been overused in Hollywood-made movies, artworks, fanfictions, TV Shows, Books, etc. They use it many times to depict China. So much so that it had lost the original meaning of the borders, but I honestly disagree. The Great Wall of China is an important Chinese Histories. The original purpose of the Great Wall of China is to protect it from invasions.", explained Skinner.
"My mom told me that you should not let anyone invade your body.", said Milhouse. Everyone is shocked except Mr. Wang who is trying to grasp more English.
"Really Milhouse?", questioned Lisa.
"Yeah...really.", answered Milhouse.
"Okay….what is cliche?", asked Mr. Wang.
"Oh, a Cliche is an overused idea that loses an original thought. Like the Beijing Wall of China, our medium of entertainment is starting to use too much of that scenery that only depicts as China where its original meaning is lost.", explained Lisa. Mr. Wang is immediately mad.
"I mad! The Chinese Tourism Rules is that we take people to see top of Great Wall! I lose job if I not follow guidelines. Not my rules, Chinese rules. We must satisfy everyone who travel. Great Wall is not boring. It interesting. Great Wall built for border and protection. We must go now.", said Mr. Wang and he tells everyone to board the bus and they did.
Hours later, they have arrive and they got on to the top.
"I have to admit. It is a pretty great scenery, even for 31 years after I visit it in China with my family…", trailed off Lisa happily. Mr. Wang felt confused.
"I confused...31 years after you have visited China with family...how old are you!?", asked Mr. Wang.
"Well-"
"Hey guys! Who wants to start racing on the Great Wall?", asked Sonic interrupting Lisa.
"I do!", exclaimed Tails.
"Me too!", exclaimed Knuckles.
"Me three.", said Shadow.
"Okay, here is the rules: We run as far as we can and when the Great Wall of China segment has ended, we have to run back here and whoever reaches first wins.", explained Sonic and they all lined up for the race.
"Ready...GO!", exclaimed Bart and they all run on top of the wall. The Chinese authorities were not happy with what is going on the top of the Great Wall of China.
When Sonic reaches back to where the tour group is, they instead encountered the Chinese authorities. The authorities were not happy. Shadow, Knuckles, and Tails were back and they have seen the Chinese Authorities this unhappy.
As a result, they were sent back to the Hotel by the authorities order. The group varied with their emotions. Daisy is the angriest to Bart being more satisfied.
"Man, I am impressed with your speed Sonic.", said Bart.
"Ah, thank you.", said Sonic.
"You are all awesome!", exclaimed Milhouse.
"Thanks.", said Sonic embarrassingly.
"Thank you!", exclaimed Tails.
"Thanks! And it is awesome!", exclaimed Knuckles.
"Okay…", trailed off Shadow.
"You all awesomely gone fast on the Great Wall!", exclaimed Vector. They were feeling great.
"You are all definitely fast…", trailed off Nelson. They were very happy to be thanked at.
"You look like you have seen all of China!", said Wario.
"Yeah. Looks like your trip of China is over!", said Waluigi. They were starting to get the mixed message from everyone.
"I am okay going to China without seeing the Great Wall anyway…", trailed off Chester confusingly.
"Me too Chester. Me too...", trailed off Silver.
Yoshi and Donkey Kong expressed disappointment.
"Sonic, I love you, but you do not have to ruin the trip for us.", said Amy sadly.
"You four should be more patient…", trailed off Allison sadly.
"Well...I could have the nostalgia of China to be a bit more longer…", trailed off Lisa sadly.
"All of you who run, you could have hurt SOMEBODY. ", said Skinner sternly. Then, Tails felt ashamed while Sonic and Knuckles have mixed feelings and Shadow has a neutral feeling.
"Why do you have to run-a Sonic!?", exclaimed Mario.
"I wanted to look-a longer!", exclaimed Luigi.
"Sonic, how could you have an idea time like this?", asked Peach. Sonic is slowly feeling more ashamed of himself.
"Sonic...if you have not run, we could have look at the Beijing Wall a bit longer.", said Blaze.
"Sonic! How the hell could you have ruin the trip for us!? I wanted to see how long it is and you just ended up feeling like running!l How could you have done that!? Are you not feeling ashamed of yourself!? Are you feeling like you have done nothing wrong!?", yelled Daisy angry.
"Daisy…please calm down. Nobody wants to hear you scream out loud. I guess we can go to bed tonight...Sonic...you are not making all of us satisfied on our trip.", said Peach. Sonic regrets about running on top of the Great Wall. Tails pat on the back of Sonic. So does Knuckles. Shadow is still neutral.
"So Sonic, while you have run, have you find my friend yet?", asked Lisa.
"No…", trailed off Sonic sadly.
"Well, we will see about that tomorrow!", yelled Daisy angrily.
"Geez, calm down Daisy. You do not have to be blunt on Sonic.", said Blaze.
"So, where are we going tomorrow?", asked Lisa.
"Beijing National Stadium.", said Mr. Wang.
"I guess Sonic wants to run in the stadium. I mean, Sonic has not run for the past few days and running would help him get the exercise he needed.", explained Lisa.
When they got back to the Holiday Inn Express Beijing Airport Zone, they were preparing for the bed when suddenly…
"Lisa! There's something I forgot to tell you...and it is not a good one…", said Ralph.
"What is it Ralph?", questioned Lisa.
"Um...uh...your mom...is...uh...missing…", trailed off Ralph.
"Wait. What?", questioned Lisa unhappily.
"Um...Principal Skinner...talk to her…", said Ralph unhappily.
"What is going on?", asked Lisa with worries.
"Your mother went missing in Malaysia…", trailed off Principal Skinner sadly. Lisa cries again.
"Why!? Why is my mom missing in Malaysia!?", sobbed Lisa.
Blaze came out of the room immediately and asked, "What is going on? Why did you make Lisa cry?".
"I think I could tell you the first part…", said Bart and he explains on how his mother had dropped them off at the house of Ned Flanders and she ended up at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"Then, she starts dancing in the Airport to get money to come to get you in North Korea, and then she was taken away to the mental hospital. A few days later, she escapes and something tells me that she is not in Malaysia because she is considered a missing person in Malaysia. She does have blue hair…", trailed off Skinner and then he realized that Sonic maybe the person who sees a lot. "Hey Sonic!", exclaimed Skinner.
Sonic comes out of the bedroom real fast. "What is it? I am toothbrushing.", asked Sonic.
"Sonic, when you are running, have you see a blue, long haired woman in China today?", asked Skinner.
"Hmm….nope, not really, why?", asked Sonic.
"Um..Sonic, the real mother of Lisa has been missing for quite some time.", said Skinner giving the news to Sonic.
"I think I get the story….so what happen is that Mayor Quimby tries to call a rescue by sending some guy to China and it somehow fails, then Principal Skinner tells the news, and I assume my mom was really angry and just gone on a flight to Malaysia first...I read the news and it said that you guys will came to rescue us, but I already rescue my dad and you guys found us in the hospital...this all makes sense!", exclaimed Lisa happily.
"Now, the only question is, 'Why did Mayor Quimby make a rescue plan in the first place?'.", questioned Blaze.
"Hmm...If I have to speculate, I heard that Mayor Quimby is a womanizer...If it is true, then I can speculate that if the 'rescue' plan on NOT just us, but with you guys. I bet if it is successful, then I can imagine that Mayor Quimby is throwing a party on the girls team being happy with Mayor Quimby and I can say that the U.S. Government will reward him if the rescue plan is successful…", speculated Lisa.
"That is bullshit!", said Ralph. Everyone gasped.
"Ralph! Watch your toilet mouth! And what do you mean it is bullcrap and where did you learn your words from?", asked Lisa.
"I learn it from the Nintendo Critic when he watches The Room. And I think that the Mayor is a piece of bullcrap before me.", explained Ralph.
"Yeah...I have to agree with you. If my speculation is correct, I think it is the best for the girls to look around Springfield. If it is allowed, can they inspect Springfield? I think our Springfield needs to make it better.", said Lisa.
"Yes! They can look around Springfield!", approved Mayor Ralph.
"So...what are you going to or what did you do in your town to make it better?", asked Blaze.
"What I am going to do is that I will illegalize discrimination on fat people! Nobody should have to be left out of the society!", said Ralph. They were surprised about the idea.
"This may get a lot of debate…", trailed off Lisa.
"Well, it is time for my nap. Good night everyone!", exclaimed Ralph and he slept on the couch.
"Let's continue to prepared to go to bed.", said Lisa and they are preparing to go to sleep and everything was fine at that night…
I got a question. Is the Great Wall of China now a cliche to ANY stories about China these days? Also, words that I have borrowed belong to their respective owners.
