Two No Good Guys
Thank you Faliara and laffup for the reviews! :D
Note: I rephrased some of the lyric translations so it fits in with the melody and stuff. Hopefully they still make sense and I can still get the original message across ^^
This chapter is the first half of the live because it's now like 2000 words ._. Yeah, sorry about that. This is kinda like another filler…
Chapter 21: Live
"Tenth, it's starting!" Gokudera said to Tsuna as the synthesized noise flooded the auditorium. The curtains quickly opened with Subaru seated at the drum kit. With a loud boom the guitars and bass struck their opening as the other band members ran out into the open lights with their instruments. Cheers erupted.
Rui let out a bright smile as she began singing, "Following the manual,
Jumping out of every day,
You are a boy~" the last word sung out as Jiro and Hiro played their guitars with vigour. She continued, "Not being able to grow up,
But not being able to stay a child,
There are times like that."
Tsuna watched the band with awe from his seat near the front. His eyes glistened, "They're amazing! They really are amazing!"
"Where everyone is in a hurry,
In the world that we live in,
We stopped upon a shooting star." Rui took a short breath and raised her voice, "One thing that I cannot give up,
With just one wish,
I can become strong.
"You were scared, and I pulled your hand,
We keep on walking,
Our breath increasing,
In the wind ahead of us!"
The guitarists struck the open strings and then fluently shifted their fingers from one fret to the next, then to the muted chords.
"With a sweet innocent smile,
You fell in love with lovers seeing dreams,
You are a girl~"
Subaru nodded his head with the rhythm as he drummed with a huge grin plastered on his face.
"Unable to tell anyone,
You are troubled by yourself,
Things like that will happen."
Kyoko peacefully watched Jiro on the left side of the stage softly headbanging by himself. He seems to be enjoying himself, she thought and smiled lightly.
"Everyone would probably love, even laugh,
In a monochrome world,
To the dream that I painted,
I wasn't able to lie," again Rui raised her voice and cheers erupted again, "One thing that I cannot give up,
With just one wish,
I can become strong.
"You were scared, and I pulled your hand,
We keep on walking,
Our breath increasing,
In the wind ahead of us~" she rolled out the line, "There's not a single thing,
that isn't bothersome at all."
Hiro ran across the stage towards Rui and played back to back with her. He gently and slowly played each single string and moved his finger up the fingerboard. He shifted his hand to the middle and smoothly ran his fingers from one string to the next. The solo continued as Hiro moved away from Rui and steadily hopped his way back to his original spot.
Rui laughed at him. "If I reached out far enough,
I would someday be able to reach the star," she quickly took a breath and sung the longer words, "I had since believed that.
"Where everyone is in a hurry,
In the world that we live in,
We stopped upon a shooting star,
To pray before it.
Everybody let's go!" Rui encouraged the audience and everyone stood up and cheered together.
"One thing that I cannot give up,
With just one wish,
I can become strong.
You were scared, and I pulled your hand,
We keep on walking,
Our breath increasing,
In the wind ahead of us."
Hiro and Jiro slowed their strumming to a steady rhythm and playfully danced towards each other behind Rui while still playing. "While wondering I was still so confused,
Even so I was okay with the one thing that I cannot give up,
With just one wish,
Even just with one,
Our breath increasing,
In the wind ahead of us-" she cut off the last word and shouted in the microphone, "LAST ONE!"
The band members all shouted into their microphones, "BOYS AND GIRLS BE AMBITIOUS! BOYS AND GIRLS KEEP IT REAL! BOYS AND GIRLS BE AMBITIOUS! BOYS AND GIRLS KEEP IT REAL!" They all jumped up together with the crowd and excitedly smashed their final chords. They dropped back onto the ground on their feet with weakening knees.
"Yamamoto-kun, can you please take these over? I need to go to the bathroom…" one of the boys in their class passed the plates over onto Yamamoto's tray.
"Sure thing!" he nodded, "Just leave it to me."
"Thanks!" he put his tray down and rushed outside the classroom.
Yamamoto glanced at the clock, "It's probably not ending anytime soon…"
The electronic sounds twisted. All together, the band jumped and began the first riff. Rui glanced at Hiro and stepped to the microphone. Looking back towards the audience, she began singing, "Black fur, the trap under the mask was manipulated,
The rope around my neck is strained to the max," her voice raised drastically in volume, "Remembering without deviation this pouring and suspended rage." She bent her body inwards and rocked out with her bass.
The wishing sounds resonated from Hiro's guitar as Jiro carefully positioned his fingers and moved them along.
"You laugh at me who drinks up a lie, these eyes are muddy,
Dance of betrayal, When become aware you've already been washed,
Where does it tear? The shortest bonds, answer me Vermin.
You can't see adultery three minutes before, Let alone me.
Remembering without deviation this pouring and suspended rage" She quickly whispered, "Dance."
The boys smirked and shouted together, "FALL. DOWN."
Rui did the same, "MR VERMIN."
"FALL. DOWN."
"LAST THE SHOW."
"FALL. DOWN."
"MR VERMIN."
"FALL. DOWN."
She lowered her voice, "Last the show~" She took a short breath, "My mental condition was seduced into a cruel fury at a high price. Dance!"
"FALL. DOWN."
"MR VERMIN."
"FALL. DOWN."
"Last the show~"
The audience excitedly jumped up and down in time with their voices.
"My restraints resolve and now I can laugh, Look back and see corpses on the floor.
Serves you right."
Everything went quiet as Rui stepped away from the microphone and her fingers moved smoothly on the thick bass strings. Hiro slowly played each note as Jiro let his fingers move along on the guitar. He stepped on the reverb pedal and loudly struck the chords. They echoed along as Hiro continued with the solo.
Rui calmly moved back to the microphone. "Where does it tear? The shortest bonds, answer me Vermin.
You can't see adultery three minutes before, Let alone me.
The time when I believed in betrayal is
A dream that is too far disturbed,
Even now it sticks to my mind and won't come off,
Before it breaks off I'll crush it myself.
Dance!"
"FALL. DOWN."
"MR VERMIN."
"FALL. DOWN."
"Last the show~ Dance!"
"FALL. DOWN."
"MR VERMIN."
"FALL. DOWN."
"Last the show~
My mental condition was seduced into a cruel fury at a high price. Dance!"
"FALL. DOWN."
The audience continued to jump together. As she jumped with her arm up, Kyoko watched Jiro bang his head every time he shouted into the microphone.
"My restraints resolve and now I can laugh, Look back and see corpses on the floor.
Ugly vermin without feelings of guilt bursting out of your head!" Rui jumped back and the band all headbanged together to the backing voice. Everyone else in the auditorium linked arms and went crazy, whipping their heads around.
For a split second the room was silent. They all jumped up together and played and danced to the final riff. Rui quickly said into the microphone from afar, "Goodbye, goodbye Mr Vermin." Subaru played the final two beats. Applause rose from the entire crowd.
"I heard Kyoko went the light music club's live to the extreme," Ryohei said as Yamamoto gently placed the plate of food in front of him.
He nodded. "Tsuna and Gokudera went as well. What was their band called again…?"
Ryohei crossed his arms and thought. "I don't know to the extreme…It was something like Transparency. It was a weird name to the extreme."
"Senpai, can I ask you something?" Yamamoto suddenly asked out of the blue.
"Hm? Sure. What is it to the extreme?"
"Out of Tsuna and Tanaka…" Yamamoto glanced around him to make sure no one was listening. He leaned towards Ryohei, "Who do you think your sister would be better off with?"
Subaru's drumstick clashed with the cymbal. The rest of the band jumped and spun around with their opening. They then danced around until Rui twirled towards the microphone. "We're having a mid-year slump and it sucks so No No No,
Loosen your shoulders and let's just go Jingle-Jangle Day By Day,
Don't do the things you don't wanna do, it's annoying Boo Boo Boo,
But when you wanna do it your tactic's gotta be AH HAH! Yeah Yeah Yeah."
The volume rose and the band sung altogether, We just wanna have fun tonight, So hey have a good time and don't be scared.
No Fun, No Future~!" Their voices filled the room and everyone bobbed up and down in the seats.
"If you're real take on what's next, Sometimes it's War War War,
If it's too bothersome, can't you just stop? Capricious Yeah Yeah Yeah," she sung and Hiro played the high chords with a groove. "If you wanna have fun then first you gotta get stupid yell Hey Hey Hey,
Since this is where I'm different now Go My Way!"
Again, the others joined in, "We just wanna have fun tonight, If it's not fun then start the fun.
No Fun, No Future~!"
Jiro skipped towards Rui as his solo began. His fingers quickly moved up and down the frets. With each bar he went faster and faster until he stepped back to his side of the stage while running up the fingerboard. He bent the last two notes and made a devil's sign with his hand.
"Na nanana nana nana na~" Rui sung and everyone repeated after her. They did it again.
"That guy's down and so is he, Full of morals and rules,
If it's not fun then make it fun,
If it's not fun then you're done for!" The instrumental built up to the final chorus and Rui stepped on her pedestal, "SING IT!"
"We just wanna have fun tonight, So hey have a good time and don't be scared,
No Fun, No Future~"
Subaru turned his head towards the microphone next to him and cheered, "Let's go again!"
"We just wanna have fun tonight, If it's not fun then start the fun,
No Fun No Future! No Fun No Future! No Fun No Future! No~ Fun No Future~!
For me!" The ending was quick with the last two notes. Everyone cheered again as the band rested their instruments on the stand.
Eh? It's over already? Kyoko thought disappointingly.
Rui skipped over to the microphone and took a deep breath. She cheerfully waved to everyone, "Hi guys! Are you having fun?" The crowd gave shouts of approval and she nodded happily. "You know, today is special for us. Do you know why? I'm sure you've heard from a few months ago, our rhythm guitarist here, Tanaka Jiro," she gestured to him, "Had his secret leaked." Everyone laughed as they remembered the recording that went viral all over the internet.
"Anyways," Subaru said into his microphone, "Our buddy here has a little thing for her, that's why she's here right now."
Hiro looked across the stage at Jiro who picked up his guitar and started walking to the centre of the stage. "So now we're gonna have Ji-chan introduce the song that we've been learning and practicing for ages," he pointed to him.
"DON'T CALL ME JI-CHAN!" Jiro shouted without a microphone and everyone burst into laughter.
Rui pat his back and said into Jiro's microphone on the side of the stage, "He's not the best singer but this was his idea so, please forgive him," she laughed and Jiro glared at her.
The room fell silent as Jiro cleared his throat. "So yeah…as they said, I'm playing this song for the girl I like…"
Tsuna gulped, This is it…this is the song for Kyoko-chan…
Jiro took a deep breath. "This song is Shinkirou by the band Alice Nine, and this performance is from me to Sasagawa Kyoko-san."
Yup, I'm still sorry. It became way too long...I'll try to update in less than a week because I'm going somewhere and I won't be able to write. If I'm a little shit and don't update, just know that I'm not dead XD
