The Return of the Snake
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, I only own my OC. (Female OC)
Summary: "Death, it's a funny thing really. There are people that fear the cold harsh whisper of death, while others welcome it like an old friend. Whenever I ever thought of someone dying, I always felt scared. I thought I was scared of dying, until I actually died."
The Shīringu is mine alone, it belongs to me!
I also apologise if any of the fight scenes are bad, I'm not very good at it.
Also, I am not doing fillers! I've tried but I lost interest in it really quickly.
I know it took longer to get to the Valley of the End, but just for the sake of the story, can you go along with it.
NARUTO
I was wondering the village as usual; I seemed to be doing that a lot lately. In the past month Haku had recently got his new team of Genin, who were adorable by the way. Unfortunately he had a fangirl on his team, a fangirl of the Uchiha's and Haku. Let's just say I wasn't her favourite person in the world.
As I was walking, I was wondering what was going to happen now. The storyline is eventually going to end. But this time it would be different, Sasuke wouldn't be leaving. He and Itachi had really reconnected. I've seen Sasuke get defensive of Itachi as well, someone was insulting Itachi and Sasuke got super mad. I had asked Sasuke about his revenge, and he said he had no need for it. He admitted that he felt lighter because of this.
Naruto has been spending a lot more time at our apartment too, which is good because so had Hinata. Naruto and Hinata have been talking a lot more than they used to, which I was absolutely ecstatic about.
Lee has also had his operation and now he is recovering. It took a while for Tsunade to train for, after all the damage was really extensive. But he was fine now, he's been warned by Tsunade and Shizune to take it easy. But I don't know if Lee knows the meaning of 'taking it easy'.
Kakashi also knew about my little secret too. His reaction was the best though, he actually fainted. He says he didn't though, he says that he had no sleep for a week because he was reading and fell asleep. After he woke up, he took it well. He called me cheater, playfully of course. But I felt slightly lighter that he knew. It was getting harder not to tell him. But Sakura still doesn't know, and I don't think I'm going to tell her. Sakura had anger problems, and of you push her buttons a certain way, you can find anything out from her. And also I don't like her.
"Ah, just who I wanted to see."
I froze where I was, immediately brought out of my thoughts. It can't be, no, no, no, no. I turn around slowly and stare up into the tree where I heard the voice, "Orochimaru..." I whisper in shock. How the hell did he even make it into the village?! Are the ANBU really that shit that they can't do their job?!
Orochimaru grins and jumps down right in front of me. I take a few steps back away from him. "How?" I ask lowly looking around quickly. I didn't want to take my eyes off him for a second, but I saw no one, it was eerily empty.
Orochimaru grinned demonically, "Do you really think you'd get rid of me that easily?" Orochimaru lifted his hand up and stroked my face. I wanted to stab him, but I was too scared, it was as though I was paralysed in fear.
"I always get what I want." Orochimaru whispers in my ear.
3rd person POV
Screaming was heard in Akemi and Haku's apartment. Akemi lay in her bed screaming and squirming. Sweat clung to her forehead, making her hair stick to it. Her face was scrunched up; fear was written clearly on her face. She wasn't awake however, she was having a nightmare.
Haku rushed into the room, he saw the state of his younger sister and immediately tried to wake her. It resulted in him getting smacked in the chin, but Akemi finally woke up. Her eyes scanned the room frantically, and when she saw Haku and not Orochimaru, she calmed down slightly.
"H-he w-wants me, h-he's after me." Akemi stutters as tears fall from her eyes.
Haku sat on the bed and hugged her, "He isn't going to get you." Haku whispers softly as he rocks with her to sooth her.
It was working. Akemi relaxed in his hold, "B-but-"
"No buts." Haku says firmly, "He won't get you. Tsunade has sent spies; they are looking at his every movement. He won't get you."
Haku held Akemi for a while. The shaking eventually stopped and small quiet snores could be heard. Haku looks down and sees that Akemi has went back to sleep. Haku smiled softly before gently placing Akemi back into the covers. He leaves her room with one final look at his younger sister.
Haku walks back into the living room, where he and Itachi were. It was Haku's turn to watch Itachi. But Haku completely forgot about Itachi as soon as he heard Akemi scream.
"Does she have nightmares often?" Itachi asks.
Haku sighs and flops down onto the couch, "She didn't use to, but lately yes. It's seems to be too much for her."
Itachi sends him a curious look.
"It started with Kabuto." Haku says, "She killed him in the Chunin exams. She panicked when he was strangling her. She had reoccurring nightmares about that."
Itachi would have winced if it wasn't for the fact he didn't show emotion. He remembered his first kill, it was during the war. He was only young then, younger than Akemi. But his father offered no sympathy while his mother did. But as an Uchiha, you couldn't show emotion, so he buried it. He had constant nightmares, and he wouldn't wish it on anyone, well except Danzo.
"Then the whole thing with Kimimaro." Haku says with a deep sigh.
"Who?" Itachi asks.
"Leader of the Sound Four," Haku answers, "we captured him and interrogated him. Akemi was the only one to get through to him. His other accomplices came and tried to kidnap Akemi, who was paralysed. Kimimaro stopped the Sound Four from kidnapping her, but he died in front of her. Akemi felt so guilty that she refused to eat."
"She was punishing herself." Itachi says with an understanding tone.
Haku nods, "It used to be me who had the nightmares, but now its Akemi."
"She saved you too." Itachi says, he had been through her memories and saw what she did. He couldn't help but think that it was quite heroic and a bit crazy, but who was he to judge?
Haku nods and a smile appear on his face. Then he frowned, "But they're getting worse."
Itachi said nothing, letting Haku continue.
"Lately they've been about Orochimaru; I think the pressure is getting to her." Haku says running a hand through his long hair.
"Knowledge is power, and Orochimaru wants that." Itachi says wisely.
Haku nods his head, "I think now that she's changed things, she doesn't know what's going to happen. She's been used to having this knowledge."
Itachi nods his head.
Haku looks at Itachi with a critical look. Itachi looks at Haku with a raised eyebrow, "What?" Itachi says wondering what Haku was staring at him for.
"Do you really plan on staying?" Haku asks.
Itachi wasn't surprised by this question; he had been asked by many people if he was staying, he had just nodded his head at them. But he didn't think a nod of the head was going to satisfy Haku. "I am." Itachi answers.
"Why?" Haku demands.
"For Sasuke." Itachi says.
Haku was silent for a moment before asking, "Would you have stayed if Sasuke hadn't asked you?"
"No." Itachi answers.
Haku wasn't surprised. He would do the exact same. Akemi was a stranger to Itachi, even now she still was. But Sasuke was his younger brother. If Akemi had asked Haku to stay, he would in a heartbeat.
"I probably would have killed Akemi too." Itachi says honestly.
Haku glares at Itachi.
"But I saw how much Sasuke cares about her." Itachi says closing his onyx eyes. He wasn't allowed to activate his Sharingan while he was on probation.
"That's why you saved her." Haku says nodding his head.
Itachi's eyes clouded over for a moment as he spoke, "Sasuke had the same expression when he saw our parent's dead."
Haku said nothing and looked solemnly to the floor.
Itachi looks to Haku, "What has Sasuke been like?"
Haku smiles slightly, "He's been great to be honest. When I first met him I thought I wouldn't like him. He kept glaring at me and scowling. But then I got to know him. It looked like he didn't want to be part of the team to me, but Akemi wouldn't stop trying to get him involved."
Itachi nods his head, satisfied.
"She draws people in," Haku says still smiling, "it's like she has this energy around her that makes people want to talk to her."
"Aah." Itachi says. Another ANBU appeared in the room, Haku's shift was over. Itachi left with the several ANBU members. He was still under arrest for being in the Akatsuki; however his sentence had been reduced majorly because of Danzo's trial. He now only had to serve one month.
NARUTO
Akemi's POV
I, Sakura and Naruto stood at the bridge. We were waiting for Kakashi and surprisingly Sasuke. Sasuke was usually the first one to get there, then Sakura and then Naruto. Eventually I would turn up, and Kakashi would appear maybe an hour after me. Sakura usually just stares at Sasuke and blushes. But when Sakura didn't see Sasuke, she nearly freaked out. When Naruto got there, she complained. When I got there, she complained.
"Where could he be?" Sakura asks for the millionth time looking around frantically.
I sigh, "He's probably training somewhere else."
"Yeah!" Naruto shouts agreeing with me. Even I could see that Naruto was annoyed with Sakura, which I was kind of surprised at. Naruto was usually very patient when it came to the people he cared about. But I have a feeling that Naruto doesn't like Sakura the way he used to.
Sakura bit her lip, "What if something happened to him?"
"I wish." Naruto mumbled under his breath.
Sakura's ears twitched, "What did you say?!" she shouts turning around to face Naruto with a furious expression on her face.
Naruto backed down, "Nothing..."
"Calm down Sakura." I say to her while glaring, "shouting at Naruto won't solve anything."
Sakura sends me a glare but says nothing.
Kakashi puffs onto the scene with his perverted book in hand. He looks around and raises his only visible eyebrow, "No Sasuke today?"
I shake my head, "Nope."
Kakashi sighs from behind his mask, "Shame, we were going to train."
Naruto's eyes lit up at the prospect of training, "Training?!"
Kakashi nods his head, "Yes, but now that Sasuke isn't here, we can't."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Sakura sigh in relief.
"Then let's go get him!" Naruto shouts running off into the direction of Sasuke's house. To which we had visited before many times.
The walk to the Uchiha house was a long walk. Sasuke had moved back into the Uchiha main house along with his brother. Now that there were two people of the same Clan, they could be classed as a Clan. Itachi was on the council, every head of house was part of the council. Technically Haku was part of the council because I was part of the Yuki Clan. During the walk there, all we heard was Sakura chattering on about Sasuke. I had learned to tune her out though so I was alright. It would seem that Kakashi had learnt the same thing because he was just reading his book.
When we made to compound, Naruto was shouting at Itachi, "What do you mean he isn't here?!"
Itachi looks at Naruto with disdain written on his face. He didn't like loud noises, and everything about Naruto was loud, "He left hours ago to meet you guys." Itachi answers calmly.
"But he never showed up." I say with a frown. Sasuke never missed a day of potential training, even after Itachi coming back home.
"Why don't we go look for him?" Kakashi suggests.
We nod at each other and split up. I looked around the training areas. While I was looking for Sasuke, I passed Ichiraku ramen and saw Naruto. I ended up dragging him out of the place. It was around mid-day before we all met up today. We met in training ground seven, where we were all supposed to meet in the first place.
Sakura shakes her head, "I couldn't find him anywhere."
"Neither could we." I answer pointing to me and Naruto.
"What about you, Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto asks.
Kakashi shakes his head, "Unfortunately no."
"I can't sense his chakra signature either." Itachi says looking slightly worried, but normal people wouldn't be able to notice.
Horror flashed through Sakura's eyes, "Maybe he's hurt?!"
I send her a glare, "You are not helping the situation."
Just then, an ANBU appeared near us. I tense but then relax. I seem to think it was another ROOT member coming to kill me. But then I would see who it was and then relax. The ANBU handed Kakashi a scroll, "From the Hokage." They say before disappearing again.
"What does it say?!" Naruto asks loudly.
Kakashi read through the scroll quickly, "Tsunade-sama requests that she sees us urgently."
"Then let's go!" Sakura says.
Sakura was about to run off, but Kakashi stops her, "Not you Sakura." Kakashi says shaking his head.
"What do you mean?" Sakura asks confused.
Itachi answers her, "Tsunade has asked for: Kakashi, myself, Naruto, Haku and Akemi."
Hurt flashes in her green eyes. But then she smiles, "Okay then." Everyone could see that the smile was fake, even Naruto could see it. But no one said anything about it.
NARUTO
We arrive to Tsunade's office to see Tsunade pacing behind her desk looking stressed. Shizune was looking nervous in the corner of the room. Before we had reached the office, Haku had joined us. He had received the same message and ran as quickly as he could.
"Tsunade-Obaa-san?" Naruto says confused.
Tsunade lifts her head when she sees us and sighs, "I have some bad news."
"What is it?" I ask.
Tsunade looks at us all before answering, "Sasuke has been captured by Orochimaru."
Silence, that was all there was.
Well, at least until Naruto broke it, "WHAT?!" Naruto shrieks.
Itachi's eyes flash dangerously, "Explain." He growls in anger.
Tsunade ignores his blatant disrespect and sits down on her chair, "ANBU came to me and said that they saw Sasuke being taken away. They followed and found that it was Orochimaru, they were able to send a message before they were killed."
My eyes widen, "He's realised that he can't have me, so he's taken Sasuke."
Tsunade nods her head solemnly, "I'm afraid so."
"What's going to happen then?" Kakashi asks. Being the only level headed one here. I was in shock; Haku was trying to comfort me. Naruto was angry and shocked that his best friend had been taken and Itachi looked ready to kill.
"Orochimaru sent us a message too." Shizune says in a shaky voice. Tsunade sends her a warning look, to which Shizune flinches at.
Kakashi looks to Tsunade, "What did the note say?"
Tsunade sighs, "I wasn't going to tell you this."
"Why?" Itachi demands, his Sharingan flashing dangerously.
Tsunade glares at him but answers anyway, "Orochimaru says that he will return Sasuke in exchange for something."
"Then what are you waiting for?!" Naruto shouts, "Give him what he wants!"
Tsunade looks at Naruto, "Orochimaru demands that we give him Akemi."
Horror flashes in Naruto's cobalt eyes, "No..."
"I'm afraid so." Tsunade says shaking her head.
"Then let's do it." Itachi says suddenly.
Haku looks at him with a dangerous look in his eyes, "You will not touch her." Itachi and Haku have a glaring match. Both eyes were cold and calculating. I recon Haku could give Itachi a run for his money.
"We are doing nothing yet." Tsunade says getting their attention, "And we are certainly not giving Akemi to Orochimaru." Tsunade glares at Itachi at the last part.
"We have until tomorrow noon to figure out something." Shizune says.
"Or what?" Naruto asks quietly.
Tsunade sighs, "Or Orochimaru will kill Sasuke."
"WHAT?!" Both I and Naruto shout together. This isn't happening, it can't be. My worst nightmare is coming to life. I know Orochimaru wants me, but to kill the other vessel he had in mind is different from what he would usually do.
Kakashi looks to Tsunade, "Where?"
"It's at the Valley of the Ends." Tsunade says looking solemn. Haku, Itachi and Kakashi started to talk about plans. But I and Naruto walked out, mainly because we were in shock. I thought that we were passed all this, but apparently not.
NARUTO
Naruto and I had made it back to mine and Haku's house. We sat in the living room not knowing what to say. Luckily we hadn't seen Sakura otherwise she would have asked questions. Questions to which we couldn't answer.
Naruto sat on the couch staring into space, "What are we going to do?" He asks in a quiet voice.
"I don't know Naruto-kun." I answer. I was sitting on the couch too, on the other side of Naruto.
"But you usually do." Naruto says.
I glare and snap at him, "Well I don't!"
Hurt flashes in Naruto's eyes.
Guilt hit me like a train, "I'm sorry Naruto-kun." I say, "I'm just frustrated and I took it out on you."
Naruto sends me a weak smile, "Its fine."
I sigh and shake my head, "It's not fine though. It's all my fault."
Naruto looks at me confused, "How is it your fault?"
"I had to tell Orochimaru about my Shīringu," I say with a grim look.
"You did it to save Sasuke." Naruto answers back.
"Does it look like he's saved?!" I shout out.
Naruto went silent, he looks at me seriously, "The only person to blame, Akemi-chan, is Orochimaru."
I sigh deeply but say no more on the matter.
NARUTO
Night time had fallen. Konoha was dark, but peaceful. Guilt had been racking me since Naruto had left. All I could think about how it was my fault that Sasuke had been kidnapped. It was only recently that I had a revelation. I was going to trade myself in for Sasuke. That way Sasuke would be safe.
I was packing my bag. I was nearly finished; I looked at the photo on my desk. The photo was of team seven. Kakashi was standing back with Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura in front of him. It looked like it did from the anime. The only exception was me. I had jumped on Kakashi's back for the photo. So Kakashi had a look of surprise on his face, Naruto was laughing, Sasuke had a slight grin on his face and Sakura looked shocked. I smile at the picture as I held it up to look at it closer. I had the biggest and cheesiest grin on my face possible. I don't even think I smiled like that when I was with my parents. I take the photo with me; there was no way that I could leave this behind. Even if I have to hide this, I was taking it. No one could take away the memories that I have from here.
With my bag done, I swung it around my shoulders and left my room. I grabbed one white envelope and placed it on the kitchen counter so Haku would see it. I was going to leave one for everyone, but that would have taken too much time, and I could be caught. If I wanted to leave discreetly then I needed to not be seen.
As I walk down the village path, I make sure to the take the path with the least amount of people. If I sensed someone's chakra signature who I knew, I would run away. No one could know about what I was about to do.
It didn't take me long before I made it to the gate of Konoha. I stood there, a few feet away from the gate. I had knocked out the guards with Genjutsu. Both were sleeping like logs, they wouldn't wake up for a while. They wouldn't have seen me and no one raise the alarm.
No one would know, absolutely no one-
"Akemi-chan."
God dammit!
I turn around and saw Naruto looking at me with a curious expression. "What are you doing out so late?" Naruto asks me.
"I could ask you the same thing?" I answer back with a raised eyebrow.
Naruto grins, "I was going to get some ramen, they close soon, but I was hoping to get a couple of bowls."
I smile at Naruto gently; he was the person I was going to miss the most, besides Haku.
"But what are you doing?" Naruto asks me.
"I'm going for a stroll." I say with a smile.
"With a backpack?" Naruto says looking at me backpack with a serious look. The happy look on his face was gone. He knew. He knew I was lying.
I shrug my shoulders, "Has coat in case I get cold."
"And being near the gate." Naruto says looking at me with suspicion in his eyes.
I just shrug my shoulders.
"Stop lying!" Naruto shouts at me suddenly.
I look at him in shock.
"You're going to give yourself to Orochimaru." Naruto says. He didn't ask because he already knew the answer.
Sighing, I reply, "Naruto I have to."
"No you don't!" Naruto shouts in protest.
"Naruto-kun please let me go." I plead with him. I was losing time; if I didn't leave soon then Haku would find that letter and sound the alarm. I needed to create distance between myself and Konoha if I was going to make it to the Valley of the End.
Naruto shakes his head, "I can't let you do this, Akemi-chan."
I exhale roughly, "Naruto-kun, if I don't then Sasuke will be killed!"
"We'll think of something." Naruto answers seriously.
I grit my teeth in frustration. I take deep breathes to try and calm myself down.
"Don't leave." Naruto whispers in a low voice, it was so low that I nearly didn't hear it. But I caught it, and it made my heart clench. I nearly didn't want to leave the village. But I knew if I didn't then Sasuke was dead.
I shake my head, "I'm sorry Naruto-kun."
"Then I'll stop you!" Naruto shouts at me. Naruto goes to make shadow clones, but I stop him. I flash forward so I'm in front of him. He looks at me in shock while I keep my facial expressions schooled.
"I'm sorry." I whisper to him.
"Please don't leave." Naruto pleads again.
I close my eyes, and then I opened them. "I'm about to do the most douche-iest thing to you." I whispers, mainly you myself. Naruto looks at me curiously. I hit Naruto on the pressure point at his neck. Naruto's eyes widen and fell forward. I caught him before he hit the ground. I picked him up with slightly difficulty and placed him on the bench nearby. I was doing a Sasuke. I just hope Naruto forgives me for this. I was doing the one thing I said I would never do.
I lay him on the bench and make sure that he is comfortable. I take one last look at his peaceful face. Tears fall from my eyes; I felt pain in my heart for leaving my home. This place had been my home for nearly two years. I didn't want to leave, but I have no choice.
I leaned down and kissed Naruto on the head. I removed my Hitaiate from around my waist and placed it in Naruto's hands. Wiping my tears away, I turned around and walked away. Before I took a step from the village, I looked at Naruto one last time.
And then I ran.
NARUTO
It was morning by the time I stopped for a break. I hadn't slept since I had left. I was running on pills to keep me awake. I could see the valley up a head, within the next hour that I would be in the hands of Orochimaru. That isn't a thought that sounded very appealing.
I was about to take another step, but a voice stopped me. "Don't do it Jane."
I whirl around with a weapon in hand. I know no one knows my other name, but I was still spooked. I look at the person and saw it was Nora. She was wearing her white cloak and looked as radiant as ever, but the frown on her face disturbed the beauty.
"I'm hallucinating." I mumble to myself, there was no way that I was seeing Nora here. I wasn't asleep, must be the lack of sleep affecting me.
Nora shakes her head, "I'm no hallucination Jane."
"Then why are you here?" I ask her.
"I'm here to stop you from making a big mistake." Nora says seriously.
I scoff, "A little late for that."
"Jane, turn around." Nora says softly, "it isn't too late."
I shake my head, "I don't have long. If I don't he'll kill Sasuke." I turn around and walk away from Nora.
"If you go then you won't have a future." Nora says to me.
I stop where I was and turn around, "What do you mean?" I ask her.
Nora sighs, "You disappear Jane. You die."
"But Sasuke will be alive?" I question Nora.
Nora groans, "Yes, but-"
"Then there's nothing else I need to know." I say cutting in.
"Think about what you are doing!" Nora shouts at me. I was shocked really; I hadn't heard her lose her temper. She was kind go scary when she was angry...
I wave it off, "They'll be fine."
Nora shakes her head, "No they won't. You've changed many things, you've touched many people. If you die, they'll be devastated."
"They'll be fine." I say going to walk away again. But Nora's next words make my heart stop.
"Haku kills himself." I stop where I am. My eyes widen in shock, he wouldn't. He's built a life in Konoha, he wouldn't do it.
"Naruto doesn't become Hokage." Nora says.
I shake my head.
"Sasuke tries to kill Naruto for not trying." Nora continues.
"Stop it." I mumble.
"Hinata and Naruto don't get together."
"Stop it..."
"Hinata dies from grief," Nora lists.
I clench my fists.
"In the fight, Naruto and Sasuke both kill each other..."
"Stop it!"
"Itachi kills himself..."
"I SAID STOP IT!" I shout at Nora. I whirl around and glare at her viciously, "Just stop it!"
Nora stares at me with a blank expression. We stare are each other for a moment before I felt the need to blink. I look away and rub my eyes. "Just don't, please." Nora whispers to me. My heart clenches, that tone reminded me of Naruto. Oh poor Naruto, I can't believe I did that to him.
"I'm sorry." I say walking away.
"Don't give into Michael!" Nora shouts at me.
For what felt like that tenth time, I stopped and turned around, "What are you talking about?" I ask.
Nora sighed, "There is another Angel. His name is Michael. He is the one that has been sending you those dreams."
"Why?" I ask her.
"He doesn't like me very much." Nora answers.
I send a look, "So because he doesn't like you, he's been targeting me?"
Nora nods her head, "Unfortunately yes."
"What did you do?" I ask.
Nora looks at me with an incredulous look, "What makes you think I did anything?"
"The guilt in your eyes." I answer simply.
Nora grumbled.
"So?" I say expectantly.
Nora sighs, "Fine. Michael and I used to be married, but we died. It was an accident, a house fire. We made it to heaven. We were there for hundreds of years and we finally made it to Guardian Angels. Not many can become Guardian Angels. But I had noticed a change in Michael's behaviour. He seemed to be jealous of others. And then I was given someone to guard, and he became jealous again."
"So you think that Michael is trying to sabotage my journey out of jealously?" I ask her.
Nora nods her head, "Yes. You see I confronted Michael and demanded he stop. But he didn't. As a result, my person died. But I had already told the higher ups, and he was punished severely. He was nearly kicked out of heaven completely. But he grovelled and begged forgiveness. It took many of years for him to gain the Guardian Angel status again."
"So he's angry about you because of that?" I ask her.
"Unfortunately so." She answers. "And now I believe he is taking revenge on me through you."
I bit my lip. It would explain the constant nightmares that I was having. But that could be down to stress at the same time. I believed Nora though, she wouldn't lie to me.
"So, let's go home." Nora says with a smile on her face.
I shake my head, "No. I'm going through with what I set out to do."
Nora looks at me in shock.
"Good bye." I say, turning around and leaving. I ignored everything that Nora was saying. She had wasted too much of my time with telling me about Michael. I needed to make up that time.
Within thirty minutes, I was at the Valley of the Ends. On Madara Uchiha's head was Orochimaru and Sasuke. I jumped into the rocky head and stared at them. Orochimaru stood there smug, he looked the same, but even I knew he had transferred bodies already. He would have to wait three more years. Orochimaru was grinning madly, especially when he saw me.
Sasuke was tied up next to him. He was tied up with special chakra stealing cuffs. I imagine that Sasuke was also paralysed otherwise he would have been fighting. When Sasuke saw me, his eyes widen, "Get away!" He shouts at me with panic in his eyes.
Orochimaru chuckles eerily, "So glad you got my message."
"Unfortunately, I did." I sneer at him.
"Get away Akemi!" Sasuke shouts at me.
Orochimaru hisses at Sasuke, but stops when I send him a warning look.
"If I give myself up, will Sasuke be unharmed and be able to return to the village?" I question him in a hard voice.
Orochimaru grins, "But of course."
I nod my head and summon Enma. In a puff of smoke he appears. He looks around, "What's the matter, Akemi?" Enma asks me.
I twitched my head to Orochimaru's direction. Enma sees Orochimaru; he goes to attack, but stops when I shout him.
"Enma, don't!" I shout to him, even though I wanted him to pummel Orochimaru. I couldn't risk it though. It looked like Orochimaru was on his own, but I knew he wasn't that stupid to come on his own.
Enma stops and sends me an incredulous look, "And why the hell not?!"
I sigh deeply. "You need to take Sasuke back to the village, and that's it."
Enma looks confused. He looks at Orochimaru's grinning face. Slowly, Enma's facial expressions look like he's seen death, "No..." He whispers.
"You can't join him!" Enma shouts at me.
"If I don't he'll kill Sasuke." I yell at him.
Enma went silent.
"Go." I whisper.
Enma silently picks up a panicked looking Sasuke and easily throws him over his shoulder. Before Enma passed, I gave him back his summoning scroll, "Find someone worthy." I whisper to him, tears nearly gathering in my eyes.
Enma says nothing and runs into the direction of Konoha.
I sigh deeply to stop the tears in my eyes.
Orochimaru grins. "Now why would you get rid of him?"
I glare at him, "Like I'd ever let you get your hands on him."
Orochimaru chuckles, the creepy smile still on his face.
I sigh and look at him seriously, "Promise me one thing."
Orochimaru looks at me with interest in his eyes, "Go on."
"If I go with you, that you won't target anyone from the Konoha." I say to him with a serious look. If he didn't agree to this then I was walking away.
Orochimaru grins madly, "Deal."
NARUTO
3rd person POV
Slowly, Naruto opened his eyes. It was only dawn, he grumbled before rolling around in his bed, except it wasn't his bed. He ended up rolling off the bench and straight into the cold concrete floor. Naruto yelped and shot up. He sits on the floor and rubs his eyes.
"What am I doing out here?" Naruto mumbles to himself,
"I'm sorry." Akemi whispers to him.
Naruto's eyes flew open, "Akemi-chan!" Everything came rushing back to him, Akemi leaving the village to save Sasuke and leaving him on the bench. Naruto looks down when he feels something cold, Akemi's Hitaiate. Naruto's eyes widen and he clenches his fists. Naruto sped to the Hokage's office and arrived there by throwing the door open.
"Tsunade-Obaa-san!" Naruto screams.
In the room were Tsunade, Haku, Kakashi and Itachi. They were still planning what to do. When Tsunade sees Naruto, she sighs, "Don't call me that!" She shouts at him.
"Akemi-chan's gone!" Naruto screams.
Haku looks at him, "What do you mean?"
"She left to give herself up to Orochimaru!" Naruto shouts frantically.
Haku's eyes widen, "No..." He whispers in shock.
Naruto nods his heads frantically, "I tried to stop her, but she knocked me out! I only just woke up!"
"When did she leave?" Kakashi asks, noticing that Haku had gone into shock. Haku had taken steps back until he reached a wall, once he reached the wall, he fell to the floor.
"Last night." Naruto answers.
Tsunade slams her hand on the table, "Damn!"
Itachi sighs deeply, "What are we going to do now then?"
"We need to go rescue them!" Naruto shouts.
"Orochimaru could be expecting that though." Kakashi says in deep thought.
"But we can't just do nothing!" Naruto shouts.
Tsunade nods her head, "We'll send a rescue team. Kakashi and Haku, I want you two to go." Kakashi nods his head at the Hokage's order. He was about to go and pick Haku up, but something else came crashing through the window.
Enma had jumped through the window and landed in front of Tsunade.
"What the hell?!" Naruto shouts freaking out.
"Enma?" Tsunade says looking at him with a raised eyebrow.
Enma takes Sasuke from his shoulder, "Here." Itachi was immediately by Sasuke's side and took hold of him.
"Where's Akemi?" Haku asks looking to Enma.
"Unfortunately, with Orochimaru." Enma says with a sneer. Enma gives Tsunade his summoning scroll before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
"Y-you need to save her." Sasuke says.
Everyone looks to Sasuke; Tsunade was at his side healing him. Luckily he wasn't injured; he just had paralysis in his body, which was easy to heal.
"What do you mean?" Kakashi asks his student.
"Orochimaru plans to use her." Sasuke says feeling more relaxed as he felt the paralysis leave his body.
Tsunade nods her head, "We know. He plans to take control over her body."
Sasuke shakes his head, "That's not it."
Haku looks to him, "What do you mean?"
Sasuke looks at them all, "He plans to... breed her."
Haku's eyes widen in horror, "W-what?"
"He wants the Shīringu that badly..." Itachi mumbles.
Haku stands up abruptly, he swings the door open.
"What are you doing?" Tsunade asks him.
Haku sends Tsunade a dark look, "To save my imouto." Haku growls as he storms out the room. Naruto follows behind him; there was no way he was being left behind. Tsunade motions for Shizune to take Sasuke to a hospital, to which she does.
"Go after them." Tsunade orders Kakashi. The Copy Ninja nods his head and disappears.
Tsunade sat in her chair with sighed deeply; she looks up to see Itachi still in the room. "I thought you'd be with your brother." Tsunade says.
"Let me go after them." Itachi says.
Tsunade sends him a look, "You're on probation."
"I'm probably one of the only people who can fight Orochimaru, besides yourself and Jiraiya." Itachi says.
Tsunade shakes her head, "I'd be breaking too many rules."
"Please."
Tsunade's eyes widen in shock. She never thought she'd see the day, an Uchiha pleading with her. She always knew that Uchiha were arrogant and they certainly didn't plead. She'd met enough to know that. Tsunade sighs, "Fine, but no one is to know."
Itachi nods his head, "Of course."
Tsunade waves her hand, "Now go."
Itachi disappears; it was like he was never there.
With a heavy sigh, Tsunade goes through her desk until she pulls out a scroll. She gets a messenger bird and attaches the scroll onto the bird. Tsunade watches as the bird flies off.
"Please get here in time." Tsunade mumbles to herself, hoping that she would come in time. She just hoped it wasn't too late.
NARUTO
Back to Akemi's POV
Orochimaru was taking me back to his base nearby. We were walking in silence, but that wasn't what was creeping me out, it was the snake in front of me. Normally, he creeps me out to begin with, but I know him from watching the anime, and he is acting strange. He had this eeriness around him that is putting me on edge. If I didn't know any better, I would say that he's gone slightly mad, there was a feral look in his eyes when he saw me, but I ignored it. Now I wish I could turn back and run.
"S-so what's my fate then?" I ask slightly nervous. I inwardly curse myself for stuttering slightly, but I paid attention to the snake in front of me.
Orochimaru didn't say anything, which unnerved me. We kept walking in silence after that. I was constantly looking around for escape exits. I could just turn around and run away, but I know he would catch me. I'm fast, but nowhere near as fast as a Sanin, and I'm exhausted from the journey here.
Then suddenly, Orochimaru stopped. I nearly bumped into him; I wanted no contact with him. Luckily I was able to stop in time so I didn't bump into him. I look up at him, "What's happening?" I ask with curiosity in my tone.
Orochimaru mumbled something, but I didn't hear it.
"What?" I ask.
Orochimaru turns around, and I gasp. The feral look in his yellow eyes was there. Fear washed over me, I don't know what was happening but I needed to get out. Now.
"Everything that I have worked for..." Orochimaru mumbles looking at me with his feral eyes.
I take a step back, but Orochimaru took a step forward.
"And now I have it." Orochimaru laughs maniacally, his laugh sent shivers down my spine. "The Shīringu is mine." The snake says so softly that I nearly didn't hear.
"W-why are you so obsessed with the Shīringu?" I ask him looking everywhere but at him.
Orochimaru grinned from ear to ear, "My dear Akemi-chan." Orochimaru reaches out and strokes my face. I tense up, his cold hand touching my face made me remember the nightmare that I had.
"The Shīringu is so rare; there are so many possibilities that could be done with it." Orochimaru says with a mad glint in his eyes.
I said nothing out of fear.
Orochimaru removes his hand and continues to speak, "Yukiko would never tell me how it worked. I managed to get hold of a specimen who could have had the Shīringu, but they didn't." He hisses this part out, he looked angry at this prospect.
I felt sick, that specimen he was talking about was Sarutobi and Yukiko's child. The one Orochimaru thought would have the Shīringu, but when they didn't, he killed that child.
He then looks at me, and he smiles again, "I thought I would never find another person with the Shīringu. I couldn't find Yukiko, no matter how hard I tired. So I gave up for the time being and focused my attention on the Sharingan."
He was referring to Sasuke and Itachi. He had tried to attack Itachi, but he failed and was gravely injured. So he targeted Sasuke.
"But then you came along." He says, the feral look in his eye growing. "I decided to abandon my hunt for the Sharingan for now. Sasuke would have children; I would just use them instead. But there is a very high chance that if you have children, they may not the Shīringu. But they also could."
"And what if they don't?" I ask.
Orochimaru cackles, "Then they will die."
Shivers were sent deep into my spine. The way Orochimaru was looking at me with a hungry look just sent alarm bells off. This didn't sound right, wasn't he going to use me for his next vessel.
"Aren't I going to be your next vessel?" I ask him nervously for the answer.
Orochimaru lets out another cackle, "Maybe."
My eyes widen, "What do you mean maybe?!" I shout at him.
"I'm going to see if your children will have Shīringu." Orochimaru answers casually.
I choke on my own spit, "T-that means you're going to..."
"Breed you, yes." Orochimaru answers with a smile on his face.
A sick feeling washed over me. The very thought of it made me violently sick. This was not happening. This was NOT happening. This is what Nora was talking about. She warned me and yet I didn't listen, I didn't head her warnings and now look at where I am. I'm going to become a breeding machine. I was nearly hyperventilating at this point; I did not expect this in the slightest. If I knew I was going to become a breeding machine.
"But I'm only twelve!" I shout in shock.
Orochimaru didn't even look bothered by this. In fact, all he did was shrug his shoulders. "That makes no difference to me."
"You're sick." I hiss at him in anger and disgust.
Orochimaru cackles at my comment, he doesn't look offended, in fact it looked like he took it as a compliment.
