Back inside the parlor of Hillhurst, Everyone watched Ashley's iPhone clock at 11:59 p.m.
"Almost there..." Ashley said. One minute later, it was now midnight, November 1st according to the phone. Flabber started to glow light purple, then sparkles of gold fell upon him. The Pipettes glowed their own colors, their legs became transparent as they joined together to make tails of silky mist. Their tails were pulled into the pipe organ's center pipes sucking the girls inside, disappearing with three small poofs through the pipes.
The glow and sparkles around Flabber died down. The others took a good look at him, but nothing seems to have changed.
"So...did it work?" Ashley asked.
"Only one way to find out!" Flabber spun around, looked at the window, then ran a running start toward the window.
SPLAT! Flabber was literally splattered all over the window in a blue, drippy mess.
"Ewww..." everyone cringed.
Flabber oozed himself off the window and into a puddle on the floor. "...Yup, I can't leave the house now." he said through his liquified mouth.
The Pipettes steamed out from the organ. "We can't leave either this is true. Back to the old pipe organ. Oh poo..." they pouted.
After Flabber bounced off the floor to his normal self, shaking excess 'goo' off his body he said, "Now, there's something you boys need to see."
Flabber showed the monsters what happened to them with his crystal ball (it doubles as a security camera.) They all watched their actions in absolute shock. They couldn't believe it, they thought it was all a cruel joke. Mums choking Ashley and pulling her by the head, Frankenbeans squeezing her like a stress ball and Wolfgang biting Hillary and turning her into a werewolf.
But Fangula, he took it the worst as he watched what he did. Hypnotizing Ashley, stealing her key and close to attacking her. Something he would never even consider of doing such a thing to the girl he loved. Seeing the enraged look on his pale face from the crystal ball made him want to steak himself.
The recording ended with Ashley casting the powerful spell. Flabber and Ashley saw the monsters were still as statues. "So, you see guys. I cast a time freeze spell combined with a time reversal spell to set things right. Nobody remembered what happened besides me, Flabber, Little Ghoul and the Pipettes because Flabber used a little magic of his own."
"That's right." Flabber said. "I arrived just in time for Little Ghoul to tell me about the plan. I cast a spell to protect our memories from being affected by the spell." he turned to Ashley. "But what I want to know Ashley, is how you knew how to do a time freeze spell AND a time reversal spell AND at the same time?! That's way too difficult for a trainee to do!"
Ashley shrugged as she reached into her hat and pulled out the folded piece of paper. "It wasn't that hard really, I just read the instructions on this paper."
Flabber took the paper, he put on a pair of reading glasses and slowly skimmed through the paper. When he finished, his eyeballs popped out of the lenses.
"UNFLABBABLE!" he shouted. "It's all here! How to cast the spell! How to cast two powerful spells at once no matter how powerful! How to balance the amounts of magic needed! It's all in here! All on this little piece of paper?! But how?!"
"A fortune teller named Madame Ivory." Ashley answered. "She did say I was going to be in terrible danger on Halloween, but not like this!"
Mums finally spoke out. "How did we even go crazy like that anyway?! Last thing I remember was drinking some punch and then Bam! Lights out!"
"Yeah, me too!" Frankenbeans said.
"Rarara!" Wolfie replied.
"Me as well..." Fangula realized.
"That's just it!" Little Ghoul said coming into the parlor. In her hand was a test tube of red liquid. "I've done a little homework and found out this is no regular punch! It's been spiked with a monster mind control potion!"
"MONSTER MIND CONTROL?!" every monster in the room shouted.
Ashley nodded. "That would explain it. Someone must has slipped some at the party. Flabber, can your crystal ball show us who did it?"
"That can be arranged." Flabber and the others looked into his crystal ball and focused on the punch bowl. After watching it for several minutes, they saw people scooping up punch and drinking it but no one spiking it.
Then something caught Ashley's eye. "Wait! Rewind it then play it slowly!" she said.
Flabber re-winded the scene and played it in slow motion. Then everyone saw a small black blur zoom right over the punch bowl. Flabber paused the image then zoomed in at a different angle. Now everyone made out what that was. Over the punch bowl was a small black bat carrying a little bottle of strange glowing goo and pouring it's contents into the punch bowl then fly away into the sky.
Everyone turned their heads to Fangula. "I didn't do it! I swear!" he honestly insisted.
"We know Fang." Ashley said.
"We do?" Mums asked.
"Yes we do!" Ashley huffed. "Fang's not the only vampire in the world you know."
"And I have a feeling that the one responsible was that vampire we saw." Fangula said.
"What vampire?" Flabber asked.
"Well, when we were in Halloween Hollow, we came across another vampire and werewolf who almost tried to kill us!" Ashley explained.
"And they were almost close to it!" Fangula added. "Thankfully, Ashley teleported us in time before they finished us off."
They very thought of that fight made Wolfang whine and whimper in Fangula's lap while the vampire comforted him.
"There's no doubt a connection here..." Ashley said all too sure. "I mean, think about it. First, the suit of armor attacking me, then the vampire and werewolf attacking me, and then using a mind control potion to attack me! No way this is all coincidence."
"She's right." Flabber said.
"And that's not all." Ashley continued. "Did you notice something all these attacks had in common?"
"Targeting you?" Mums guessed.
"Besides that!" Ashley snapped. "They all had red glowing eyes! Even you guys!"
"She's right again!" Flabber gasped. "Even the potion is red!" he pointed to Little Ghoul's tube.
"Uh, that's because it's fruit punch?" Little Ghoul said.
"Oh..." Flabber said.
"But what happened to the potion after Ashley reversed time?" Fangula asked.
"After that, I took the punch bowl and dumped it all out." Ashley said. "But not before keeping some for Little Ghoul to examine. Either way, that potion won't be a bother anymore."
"Not to mention our Halloween party was a success!" Mums chimed in.
"Yeah, everyone said they had a good time. Even Britney!" Fangula added.
Ashley giggled. "I think she only said that because she found a new boyfriend."
Everyone chuckled and snickered, all of course for Flabber who said, "Hey! I just didn't want her to poop the party!"
"Uh-huh, sure." Ashley said.
"Wait'll she meets his family!" Mums said. Now everyone was laughing hard while Flabber frowned.
"Not to mention having a magic broom!" Little Ghoul pointed out. "Where did you find that thing Ashley?"
"We got Broomy at Halloween Hollow. Madame Ivory gave him to me." Ashley looked around. "Speaking of which, where is he?"
Little Ghoul pointed up. "He's upstairs sweeping the floors. At least he's tidy."
Ashley shook her head and smiled. Even in the middle of a serious conversation, that broom will never neglect it's neat freak duties. "But all kidding aside guys," Ashley said. "This is bad. With all that's happened, I now know someone is truly out to get me..."
Now silence was all that was heard in the room. Everyone looked at Ashley. She looked sad, worried and afraid all in one, mainly because she was feeling all those emotions.
A hand slapped Ashley on the back, causing her to look up at Flabber smiling. Fangula leaned in and warmly put an arm around Ashley's shoulder. "Well whoever they are, they'll be no match for us!" the vampire declared. "Cause we'll be ready for them next time!"
"That's right Ashley! We're here for ya!" Flabber said. "No one's taking you from us! Or they'll have to talk to me!"
"Me stomp them!" Frankenbeans roared, stomping his feet.
"I'll gnaw on their bones!" Mums said boxing the air.
"RARARARA! ARRRROOOOO!" Wolfie howl-barked.
Fagula lifted his cape over the lower half of his face. "And I'll drink their blood!" he snarled in his thickest accent.
Ashley smiled ear to ear. She couldn't ask for a better bunch of friends. "And I'll be ready to make some MAGIC!" She threw her hands in the air, shooting green sparkles that swirled around the room and collided to make a fireworks display of the mystical. Ashley took a bow as the monsters clapped.
"That's the spirit Ash!" Flabber beamed. "But save the magic for your lessons tomorrow!" he reminded her. "My mother loaned me some new magic books for you to study!"
Ashley blinked. "Oh yeah..."
"AND!" Little Ghoul yelled, pointing her scaly finger at Ashley. "You have Hexes 101, ancient voodoo practice, confectionery curses, potion practice and your scare tactics need some sprucing up. That green witch thing was good but it's old hat, it could have been better."
"AND!" Flabber yelled this time. "You also have to do your chores!"
Ashley looked like she was going to die. "Great," she mumbled. When she said 'make some magic,' she didn't mean it like this.
But Fangula lifted Ashley's hanging head and smiled. "How about you and I make some magic together?" Ashley smile quickly sprang on her face and snuggled up to Fangula and the two shared a smothering kiss. Flabber's jaw dropped so hard it unhinged itself and hit the floor.
"Ew, sick! I'm outta here!" Mums wailed.
"That'll make ya chunk..." Little Ghoul mumbled with the other grossed out ghouls leaving the room.
Flabber tried to say something but he couldn't without his jaw. Mums picked up the jaw and adjusted it back on his friend's face. "...Am I missing something here?" the stunned phasm spoke.
Mums sighed, leading Flabber out the room. "Relax, we'll tell you tomorrow."
