The past week a lot of families were murdered by death eaters. Families of muggleborns from Hogwarts were murdered as well. One night the marauders returned from a walk to the common room. When they stepped inside, they saw Marlene sitting in a chair and looking out of the window the black sky. The marauders looked each other and went to their friend.
''Marlene, you okay?''Sirius asked
"Yeah, I am fine Siri." She said to him but didn't turned around to look at him
"Don't give me that shit. You are not okay and we know that.'' Sirius said angry with her
''What do you want from me Sirius? Do you want to hear that I am not okay? Okay then, I am NOT okay. No one is okay. Everything has changed. Look around you. Can you see something which has not changed yet? We have nothing anymore. Dark times have come and it's like no one can win against them.'' Marlene said, took a breath and looked out of the window again.
"Marlene, we know that everything has changed. We are not the same children we were one year ago. But it is not our fault.'' Remus said and touched her shoulder.
"Marlene look at me'' Sirius told her. When she looked at his eyes, Sirius continued "We can win if we stay together. We are stronger only together. If we broke apart then everything will be destroyed.''
"Sirius, I...I am…" Tears start falling of her eyes
"Hush love. It's okay, take your time" Sirius said and took her in his arms. When she calmed she continued "I am scared about my parents. I might be a pureblood but my parents like the muggles and they don't believe bad things about muggleborns. What if they kill my parents? I can't lose them." She said and broke down.
"Hush now, Hush. Nothing is going to happen. Everything is going to be okay. You will see. Calm down now." Sirius said while rocking her to his arms for her to calm down. A little later Marlene had fallen asleep at Sirius chest and Sirius was asleep at the sofa.
Hermione walked one hour later inside the common room and saw that Remus, James and Peter were talking in whispers and that Marlene and Sirius were sleeping at the couch. She went and sat with the three boys in front of the fireplace. They explained to her, what had happened and Hermione felt bad for Marlene. She was her best friend and when Marlene needed her, she wasn't there.
The next day nothing new happened and that relaxed students and professors. That night at the Gryffindor common room was only Sirius and Marlene.
"Yesterday after our conversation, I realized something." He said and looked at her eyes.
"And what is that Sirius?" She asked him
"That I will never let anyone harm you. You are my life Marlene and I love you!' He said and kissed her passionately.
When they broke the kiss Marlene said '' I realized something as well. I love you more than anything in this world.'' With that they kissed once again.
