That morning, the sun was shining through the window of Meredith's condo like usual, but to her surprise, Dean was still wrapped in the blankets with her at around 10:00 a.m. Meredith found this out of the ordinary, since Dean was always one to get an early start, but she knew that the both of them were trying to put off this day for a couple weeks now. The day had finally come, and today, Meredith would be moving away from the Los Angeles area for the next half a year or so.

Meredith enjoyed this moment and rolled into Dean's open arms. He was sound asleep, but when she moved into his embrace, she saw him smile. She didn't mean to wake him, but she knew he wouldn't mind. Dean's eyes blinked open, and they were more beautiful than Meredith remembered. Crystal blue eyes met brown and the tears started forming in her eyes. He quickly wiped them away and kissed her forehead, pulling her tighter into his arms.

"No crying today, alright?" He mumbled into her hair.

"I don't wanna leave." She whimpered.

"I don't wanna let you leave." He sighed.

Meredith had felt so stupid. She felt as if she had wasted the last week she had in LA fighting with Dean and ignoring his existence. They should've been spending time together, not time apart, because now, they were cramming time to spend together. It would never be enough, though. Even if they had spent the past seven months together anticipating this day, it would've never been enough. They always wanted more of each other.

Meredith looked up at Dean and noticed how handsome he was. He had always looked handsome to her, but something about when he first woke up made her weak in the knees. He was more vulnerable in this state, his eyes were bluer, and he was more possessive of her. She never got to experience this side of Dean much since he took showers at the crack of dawn usually, but today was different. Meredith grinned and kissed his cheek.

"Why don't you go get a shower started and I'll meet you in there?"

"You want to shower with me?" Dean grinned and lifted his brow.

Meredith nodded and bit her lip. She wanted to experience everything with Dean on her last day in this condo. Even if it meant staying in bed all day and just cuddling, she would be content, because she knew for the next six or so months, the absence would strike them both like lightning, and everyday would be even harder than the last.

Dean rolled out of bed, but not before planting a soft kiss to Meredith's lips. He rubbed his eyes and walked towards the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Meredith got up soon after the door closed, and stood looking at herself in the full body mirror. She rubbed at her still flat tummy and decided to talk to it now that she knew for a fact that there was a little Dean or Meredith inside of her.

"I can't believe you're actually here now. Everything I said before was just a warm up for what I really wanted to say to you, I guess. I don't know if you're gonna be a boy or a girl, but I'll love you regardless. I'm sorry if I'm not the most experienced mommy in the world, but I'll try just for you, okay? You won't hear daddy's voice much for the next few months, but he's still here. I can only hope that if you're a boy, that you'll end up just like him one day. I know it'll be hard, it'll take some getting used to, but mommy and daddy will love you no matter what, and you're gonna have a pretty cool family, kiddo. I just want you to know that I would do anything just to make sure you're safe and healthy."

Meredith rubbed her tummy and sat on the edge of the bed in her robe. Tears streamed down her eyes and Dean soon came up beside her and sat down next to her. He knew the strain and worries had partly been his fault, and he was the reason she was so upset lately. Dean never wanted Meredith to worry about their relationship because he actually did love her, even if he didn't really show it some times.

Dean put his arm around Meredith as she wiped the tears from her eyes. The instant their skin touched, she felt safer and worry free. He always had that effect on her. Nobody else but Seth had ever made her feel that safe, and she knew it was a great quality to have in a boyfriend, and potential husband. Meredith knew that Dean would be a great dad, she didn't mean that he wasn't good enough.

"I'm sor-"

"Babe, no. Please no crying." Dean held her head into his chest.

"I just didn't mean what I said. The derogatory things..."

"I know. Come on, I have a surprise for you." He smiled and held her hand as he led her out of their bedroom.

Dean led Meredith into the bathroom and she noticed that he had a shower/bubble bath combination going on. He tried his best to be romantic, but after all, he was a guy, so whatever he even attempted, she was satisfied with. All she wanted him to do was at least try, and it seemed like he was doing just that. There were rose petals all over the floor and even in and around the bathtub. There were lavender candles lit, and that was the only thing illuminating the room. The shower water was cascading down in a waterfall down the shower wall and it all looked so relaxing. Dean's objective today was to spoil her, and he was off to a great start.

Meredith let her robe go, revealing her smooth body to Dean. His animalistic qualities came out to play and he immediately stripped himself of his boxers and led her into the shower. He left trails of kisses down her neck to her shoulder and she threw her head back in enjoyment. His touch was always just what she needed.

Dean began lathering up body wash in his hands and rubbing it all over Meredith's tanned body. He started out with her shoulders and made his way down to her lower tummy and began kissing her neck again. Meredith was pressed against the wall, and the water was all hitting Dean. She admired the way his body looked with beads of water adorned on him, and it just made her crave him even more. His other hand began to roam down to her lips and he earned a soft gasp in his ear as he ran a finger over her slit before thrusting two fingers into her. Meredith immediately grabbed his hardening member in her hands and stroked it back and forth.

Neither one of them were really up for teasing one another, so Dean spread her legs and aligned himself up with her and soon began thrusting into her while the water splashed on the both of them. Meredith found herself to be rather awkward during shower sex because she'd never done it before, but soon became accustomed to it. She wrapped her legs around Dean as he held her body against the shower wall. His thrusts grew deeper and more forceful which caused Meredith to moan out in pleasure and claw her nails down his back. Their releases were both close and Meredith felt the burning sensation welling up in her stomach as Dean felt her tighten around him. His thrusts grew sloppier as she let out her release and he unraveled right after she moaned out sweet nothings to him.

Dean held Meredith against the shower wall for a few moments longer; both of them trying to catch their breath. When he let her down she held his body close to hers and began to cry again. Dean didn't notice her tears due to the water, but he knew she was on the verge of breaking. Meredith was a strong woman, it was obvious, but Dean didn't understand why he had this effect on her. Was it a good thing? Did it mean she really loved him? What if she was just acting like this because of the hormones from the baby? His baby. His girlfriend.

Meredith and Dean's bodies were right in the middle of the cascading water, and Meredith felt at peace with everything. Her relationship was building itself back up from the almost destroyed foundation, she was pregnant with her boyfriend's baby, her job would have her helping people who really needed her, but the more she thought about it, the more she realized that Dean needed her just as much as those patients in Cincinnati. Dean wasn't a drug addict, he didn't need to be; Meredith was his drug. As cheesy as it sounded, that's how Dean explained her as on multiple occasions.

The silent hug lasted a few moments longer and Meredith finally stepped out of the shower and walked right to the spare bedroom with her robe wrapped around her. The more she looked around, the more she thought that this room would make a great nursery for when she returned. Maybe while she was in Ohio, Dean could prepare for their child by buying the supplies they'd need, and repainting the room to either pink or blue, depending on the gender of their baby. Meredith didn't realize that Dean had joined her in the room, and his voice caught her off guard.

"Stop thinking."

"Dean-"

"Baby, everything will be okay. It's only for six or seven months, right? We can make it through that. We've made it through a hell of a lot more shit that a thirty hour drive."

"It's just gonna be so hard." She frowned.

"I know. Imagine how I feel."

"How do Roman and Joselynn do it?"

Dean was confused on what Meredith meant by her question, so he let her explain herself before he interrupted her thought.

"Like, how did she have a baby with him on the road all the time? And she works, so when did they have time for this? There's so many things we need to learn before we-"

"First of all," Dean interrupted, "We aren't Roman and Joselynn. Yes, Ava has had a pretty good life for Roman being gone as much as he has been, and they're great parents, but they had to make the time for her, Meredith. Babies wait for nobody. When I first saw you with Ava in Seth's condo the day we went to Disney Land, I knew you'd be a great mom, but honestly..." Dean's words faded out into a panicked look.

"But?" Meredith urged on his words.

"But I'm scared. What if it doesn't like me? What if I can't do this parenting thing, Mer? I can barely take care of myself and you, I don't know how I'm gonna take care of a baby."

"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Meredith managed a half smile and walked into the kitchen.

Suddenly, she was blown back by a burst of memories from her time in LA, and it hurt. Every memory she had with Dean had just been blown into her life, for no apparent reason. She had remembered her outfits and the exact days of things that were coming back to her. Meredith realized that her attitude towards Dean had been very hostile and she didn't even know why. She just assumed that if Dustin would hurt her, a professional wrestler definitely would, but Dean had never laid an unwanted hand on her.

"We're gonna have to pack those bags into the car sooner or later, Mer." Dean's voice followed her down the hallway.

How do you two know each other?

Meredith's my sister. Mer, this is Dean Ambrose.

Her mind was replaying old conversations and her brain was flying in all sorts of directions, she couldn't keep up with it. Meredith soon found herself collapsing onto the floor near her suitcase. She didn't care about her surgery, she didn't care about anything. Nothing could hurt more than leaving the man of your dreams and every memory that he came with. Hysterical sobs came from the young woman and Dean ran to her side to help her up. When she opposed, Dean knew that he would have to drag her to Cincinnati later that day, but for now, he sat on the floor with her and wallowed in his own self pity as well.

On the inside, Meredith wasn't as strong as she portrayed, but then again, nobody was. On the inside was a scared little girl from Davenport, Iowa and she was silently losing her mind. Her heart was fighting a battle with her brain, and that never turns out very well. Meredith was losing herself. She was losing the familiar surroundings around her, and she was losing memories by leaving this place. She knew she would never be satisfied in Ohio, especially with the way Dean always degraded the poor place. Maybe she had bitten off more she could chew, but Dean had faith in her. She was destined to help people, not interview them.

Dean couldn't think of any words to say that would make Meredith feel any better. The more he thought about saying something, the worse he knew she'd feel. All he managed to whisper was one little sentence that made her cling to him even more.

"I'm so proud of you, Meredith."

"But do you really have to go?" Seth whined in a little kid's voice.

Meredith giggled at her older brother's antics. He was definitely the clown of the family, and Meredith always loved it. Seth and Stephen were very different from each other. Stephen was always more easy going, but was also horribly shy, kind of like Meredith, but sometimes, she could crack a few jokes here and there like Seth. It seemed like the Rollins kids were mirror images of the other. Their bond was strong and it would never be broken, even if they were down to two.

"I'm afraid I do, bubby." Meredith gave him a half smirk.

"But who will I tell all my secrets to!?" Leighla giggled.

"I'm just a phone call away!"

"But what about the baby?" Leighla pouted.

Shit.

Meredith hadn't told anyone besides Leighla, Dean, and Corey about her pregnancy. She was going to wait until she came back in town for Wrestlemania 30. Meredith winced over at Seth and his face was set on nothing but confusion.

"You're uh...pregnant?" He managed to speak.

"Seth...I was going to tell y-"

"Meredith," Seth sighed, "That...is wonderful." He smiled and hugged her.

"You're not mad?" She lifted her brow.

"Oh, I'm furious," He laughed, "And Dean is probably going to get his head kicked in when he gets back to LA, but I'm really happy to be having a niece or nephew."

"And now Ava has a little playmate." Roman added, walking up to the group of people.

"Congratulations, Mer." Joselynn smiled.

Meredith and Joselynn had clicked when they first met, but she wasn't really around much after the first couple of days since she was at work, and so was Roman, but Joselynn was a very nice woman from what Meredith could see. She wished that she had gotten closer with Joselynn than she had, but then again, she wasn't the one marrying her brother, Leighla was.

"Where's Dean? We need to get going." Meredith looked around.

Los Angeles was beautiful. It was warm all year round, and the people, for the most part, were friendly. The beach and the sun made her feel at peace with herself whenever she was confused or emotionally hurt. The beach was where she found solitude when Dean and her had gotten in a fight. Meredith's emotions were all over the place. She hated this town, but everything about it was so beautiful.

"He's on the phone with Vince." Roman informed.

"Why? What happened?" Meredith's voice was concerned.

"Something about a match." Roman shrugged.

At that moment, Dean walked down the stairs to where the rest of the group was standing and watched all their eyes on him. He felt very uncomfortable and looked at them all.

"What?..." He lifted his brow.

"Ready to go, Dean?" Meredith smiled up at him.

Dean shrugged his shoulders. His heart was ripping to shreds and he felt his throat closing up. He tried to be strong because he didn't want to look like a pansy, but Meredith had this hold over him that he didn't even understand. Dean cleared his throat and unlocked the doors.

"Ready." He nodded.

Meredith finished hugging everyone again and it didn't really sink in that she wouldn't be seeing these people for almost a year. Reality wasn't really a factor in her life anymore because nothing seemed real. It didn't seem real that Stephen had died, it didn't seem real that she was pregnant, and it didn't seem real that she was moving away, once again.

Seth wouldn't let go of Meredith, and she thought she heard him crying, but he pulled himself together and brushed it off, just to show her that he was being brave for his little sister.

"Be safe, alright?" Seth whispered.

"I'll be fine, Seth." Meredith assured.

"No," Seth shook his head, " I mean, you're riding in a car with Dean. Be safe." He laughed.

"Hey fuck you, man." Dean laughed as he lit up a cigarette.

"I guess I should get going." Meredith looked down at her phone. "It's already four."

"Bye, Mer." Leighla hugged her.

"Take care of my brother, okay?" Meredith whispered.

"Group hug, bitches!" Roman attacked the two women.

"Ro!" Meredith laughed as he picked her up and spun her around.

"Get in that car and go make us proud, darlin'."

"Bye guys." Meredith sat down in the passenger side of Dean's car and closed it.

As Dean pulled away, Meredith looked out the window and put her hand up against the cool glass. The remaining view she got of LA was her friends and brother waving goodbye to her as they ran after the car taking her away. Seven months had made her grow close with several people, and for some reason, she wanted to leave this town, but the more she thought about it, she felt guilty for wanting to better herself.

"So, we need to talk about something." Dean held Meredith's hand in his as he was driving away.

"What about?..." Dean had her full attention.

"Remember the main event at Wrestlemania?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Well, it's in three months, April 6th or something, but uh..." Dean was trying to figure out his words.

"Just come out and say it, Dean."

"I got the match for the main event." He grinned.

I love you, Dean.

I love you too, Mer.

No, Dean, I'm in love with you.

I've been waiting for you to tell me those feelings for a while now.

"Mer? Mer, hey. Hey." Dean shook her out of her trance.

"Huh?"

"You okay?"

"Yeah, just...I love you."

"Oh." He smiled.

Meredith noticed that Dean had seemed pretty distant the past twelve hours of driving, and he had been avoiding telling her that he loved her. She tried to brush it off, but it hurt not hearing it back after saying it. Of course she knew he was probably nervous about Wrestlemania, and about their baby, but they only had a few hours left together before they'd be separated for over six months.

"Dean-"

"I'm tired." He interrupted.

"We can stop at a hotel or something." Meredith offered.

"Yeah, okay." Dean nodded.

Meredith's inner voice was getting to her. She started to think that when Dean dropped her off in Cincinnati, that she would never see him again. She hated thinking this way, but it seemed logical. When they stopped at the nearest Hilton Hotel, Dean parked the car and held Meredith's face in his hand. He gently smiled at her as tears stung his eyes; he knew the outcome of today. It was 3:00 a.m. and the brightest thing to him at that point was her smile.

You're in a car with a beautiful man, and he won't tell you that he loves you, but he loves you.

It didn't take much effort to cop a hotel room at such short notice since Dean was a celebrity, so they got to their room rather quickly. Dean carried Meredith all the way to the elevator doors since they didn't bring her crutches inside and walking on her leg still hurt a bit. When they finally reached their room, Dean swung the door open and flopped down on the gigantic king sized bed. Meredith walked to the bathroom and took off her makeup with the towelettes that were given by the hotel. When she walked back to the room and looked at Dean, his heart lit up. He always preferred Meredith without that stuff on her face.

"Wow." He was speechless.

"What..?"

"Come here."

Meredith did as Dean asked and laid down beside him. When he got a better look at her features, he couldn't help but put his hands on her.

"Dean..." She breathed.

Dean ignored the gasp of her breath and pulled her tank top off her tanned body. He kissed down her chest to her tummy where he gently rubbed at the still flat area. She was his, and he was going to show her that. Meredith's fingers tangled into Dean's untamed hair and she arched her back at his touch. Anything he did to her would drive her insane, and he knew it.

Meredith raised herself up and pulled off Dean's shirt, but he immediately pushed her back on the bed as gently as possible. He ravaged her body with his hands and pulled off her sweat pants, revealing that she was going commando. He gave her a pleased look as he bit his lip.

"Oops." She grinned.

"Oops, yourself." He laughed as he pressed his lips against her neck and kissed down her body.

Meredith giggled at how silly Dean was being with her, but she loved it. His dominant side was the usual, but this side of him was rare and she was going to take it all in before tomorrow.

"Dean..."

"Shh, baby." He grinned into her neck.

Dean settled himself between her legs and rubbed at her sensitiveness. He earned multiple moans from her which satisfied him, but when she pulled off his shorts and boxers, he was extremely satisfied. Meredith always knew how to please Dean, and she knew what drove him crazy, but again, she was gently pushed back on the matress.

His eyes raked over Meredith's chest before his head lowered to it and flicked his tongue over the nub adorned on the globes of her chest. Another soft gasp left Meredith's lips, and he continued to repeat his actions on the other. This time he gently nibbled on it which caused Meredith to arch her back, yet again. Dean ran his finger down the front of Meredith's body and she immediately spread her legs for him. He could tell she wanted him bad, and he wasn't quite done toying with her just yet.

Dean could feel how soaked Meredith was, and when his lips were just mere inches from hers, it made her even more turned on than before. He spread her lips and ran his tongue over her. Dean moaned at the sweet, familiar taste of her and circled her clit with his tongue before moving further down. Meredith bit her bottom lip in approval and tangled her fingers in his messy hair once again.

Meredith had enough of him teasing her, and she slowly stroked his member in her hand. Dean had never been this turned on for her before, and she loved how he felt in her hand. To get him back even more, she flicked her tongue over his tip. She heard him make a few soft noises, and she was pleased with her self enough to continue. Dean's large hand came to rest on the back of Meredith's head. She wanted more of him, she needed it. Meredith locked her lops around him with a tight suction, earning an even louder noise from him. After a few more minutes of her doing this, he pulled away and pushed her back one more time.

Dean slowly rubbed the head of himself at Meredith's soaked lips and thrust into her. The silliness had turned into pure pleasure, and the both of them moaned at his intrusion. Something was going on inside of Dean that he had never felt before. He felt...emotional. It was finally sinking into him that this was the last night he would be sleeping next to her. He pulled out of her and sat back on his heels.

"Dean?"

"I love you. I fucking love you so much, Meredith." Tears brimmed his eyes.

"I love you too, Dean."

After he said that, he felt better and felt like he could continue. Dean grabbed onto Meredith's thighs tightly and guided himself back into her. Feeling him throb inside of her brought pleasure across her face. Dean quickened his pace as Meredith wrapped her uninjured leg around him, pulling him closer and tighter against her. He angled his hips and thrust deeper into her with a growl, and the sound of him moaning sent Meredith into a whole different world. She came crashing down around him and soon after, she felt him coat her walls.

Meredith clung tighter to Dean after he laid beside her. She tucked her head into his chest, but he soon moved their naked bodies to where he was laying behind her; the both of them holding their hands over Meredith's bare tummy. In just under eight or so months, they would be parents to a beautiful baby.

"Mer, wake up." Dean pulled her by her uninjured leg towards the end of the bed.

"Dean!" She giggled as he threatened to pull her the rest of the way.

"We gotta get a move on, Ms. Rollins."

"I like the sound of Mrs. Ambrose better." She blushed as she looked up at him.

Dean smiled at her innocent face. She was so beautiful, so flawless in his eyes. She was perfect to Dean, and nothing would make him think differently. He knew he had fucked things up in the past, but he would spend the rest of his life making it up to her if she would let him. Meredith was the only thing besides wrestling that made him feel like he was living. Nothing had been so real to Dean before, and now he was going to be a father. A father, and soon enough, he would be a husband.

"I do too." Dean grumbled into Meredith's ear as he held her blanket covered body in his arms.

"I'm not ready for this, Dean. Take me home." She pouted.

"I would love to do that, Mer," Dean kissed her forehead, "But...I can't."

"I know." She whispered.

Ohio was exactly how Dean left it. Nothing was rebuilt, nothing was new. It was the same shitty place he'd left when he left for North Carolina to start his career. He felt his stomach turn at the realization that Meredith would have to be living here without him, but then remembered that she had Mike and Sami to take care of her if she needed anything.

The two of them drove through Cincinnati, and arrived on the better part of town where Meredith would be staying. It was so cold in Ohio, that the exhaust from cars became visible as they were driving. It was very different from California, but not so different from Iowa. Meredith was used to the cold weather, so she knew exactly what she was getting herself into.

"You know, in less than five months, you'll be twenty four?" He smiled.

"God, I feel so old." Meredith laughed.

"Oh, hush." Dean shook his head and laughed.

Meredith had almost known Dean for a whole year, and everything between them had moved so fast, but she loved it. She loved not knowing what was going to happen next, but only if it was a good thing. She pointed up the street to where she would be staying. Dean had realized exactly where he was. This was the same apartment complex that he used to live in when he was a kid. When everything in his life wasn't too messed up.

"This is where you're gonna live?"

"Yeah, why?"

"What room?" Dean parked on the curb and popped the trunk of his car.

Meredith looked down at the key that had been shipped to her and on it was the room number and paperwork she would need.

"A17."

The words made Dean's heart sink. The chances of Meredith ending up exactly where he lived when he was younger was almost slim to none, but she had managed to get A17. He remembered the hardships he had faced in that apartment. His dad hitting his mom, him hitting his dad, him getting the shit beaten out of him after trying to keep his baby cousin, all of it. The memories hit him like a truck, and he wanted to leave. He had to get out of Cincinnati.

"Dean?" Meredith looked at him.

Dean didn't say anything, but he got out of the car and started picking up bags and a couple boxes and made his way up the stairs.

"Don't you need me to tell you where it's at first?" She shouted up to him as he was walking up the cold, metal stairs.

"Trust me, Meredith, I know this building like the back of my hand."

Meredith hobbled out of the car and was immediately hit with the chilly air that Ohio was throwing at her. She limped back to the trunk and struggled with picking up a heavy box. A deep voice came up behind her and startled her.

"Need help, ma'am?"

"N..no thank you." She managed a strained smile.

"Come on, precious, let me help." He reached for her arm.

"Hey!" Dean yelled from the top of the stairs and ran down to the man and Meredith.

"Dean Ambrose? Is that you?" The man was taken aback.

"Yeah it's me, Travis. Now get the fuck out of here before I knock your teeth down your throat again." Dean hissed.

"You haven't changed a bit, have you, Dean?" Travis laughed.

"I've changed quite a bit, actually." Dean snarled.

"You can take the man out of Cincinnati, but you can't take Cincinnati out of the man." Travis shook his head and laughed. "This your old lady? She's purty."

"Don't fucking touch her."

"She your property?"

"I actually am." Meredith spoke up. "His and only his."

Dean was surprised at how sassy Meredith's tone had gotten towards Travis. He was a pretty big guy with a shit load of tattoos, but he didn't scare Meredith at all. Nothing really scared Meredith besides Dustin, but that was obvious. Travis looked Meredith up and down.

"Better watch yourself in this town, pretty girl." He smirked and reached out to rub her cheek, but was greeted with a punch to his nose.

"Meredith, go inside!" Dean yelled at her.

He couldn't believe that Meredith had punched Travis like that. It was pretty damn impressive, and Dean smirked at the sight of blood dripping down Travis's nose. Cincinnati wouldn't be too harsh for Meredith; she was practically raised on Dean's instincts.

"Get the fuck out of here, Travis." Dean barked.

"Yeah, fuck off, Ambrose. Surprised you're not in rehab like your cunt of a mother."

"Fuck you, man!" Dean screamed in his face. "You know damn well that she ain't alive."

"Just talked to her a few hours ago, dumbass." Travis rolled his eyes and walked down the street.

Dean didn't know if Travis was telling the truth or not, but if he was, then Dean would be furious. He was told by the authorities when he was younger that his mother had been killed. Dean kicked his car and grabbed the last two boxes and locked his car before trudging up the steps to the familiar apartment.

"Mer?" He looked around as he set down the boxes.

"In the bathroom, Dean!" She yelled from across the room.

Dean sat down on the dusty mattress in what used to be his old room. Lots of memories faded in and out as he waited for Meredith to show up in the room. He felt like he was being suffocated and mocked by his past.

Cincinnati has stolen everything from you, Dean. You gonna let it steal two more things?

"No." Dean answered his mind out loud.

"What?" Meredith asked from the doorway.

Dean patted the bed and waited for Meredith to sit down beside him. She sat close to him and placed her hand on his thigh. He obviously had something to tell her.

"This is my old house." Dean managed to speak.

"I can move, if it bothers you, De-"

"No. I just, I gotta go, Mer." He stood up.

"Dean." Meredith pointed out the window.

Dean looked out the window and saw a girl about fourteen years old or so sitting on the fire escape. Her hair was about the color of Dean's and when he moved a little closer, he realized that it was his not so baby cousin that had been taken away from him when he was thirteen. He had to leave, he couldn't be hurt anymore.

"I have to go." Dean winced as he saw the girl look back at him.

"I love you, Dean." Meredith hugged him and felt him shake.

"I love you too, Mer."

The two of them shared a kiss and that was it. Dean rushed out of the apartment and made his way down to his car. He felt terrible for running, but it was all too much for him. The girl followed him down without Dean noticing, and when he turned around she was standing in front of him. His little cousin was now about half his height and she was dirty. She had ratted clothes on and it broke his heart.

"Dean?" She whimpered.

"Celeste?"

"Hi." Her lip quivered.

"Hey."

Before Dean knew it, Celeste's body was wrapped around his waist and it broke his heart. She pleaded him not to leave. She hadn't seen him in almost eleven years, and he felt like the world's worst person if he just left her. He needed to save her from the streets of Cincinnati before it took her away like it did to everyone else.

Meredith heard a knock on her door and when she opened it, Dean was standing in front of her, scratching the back of his neck.

"Hi." He smiled.

"Dean, I thought you-"

"I know. Meredith, this might be a big favor to ask of you, but I don't know what else to do." He sounded like he was pleading.

"Anything, Dean." She reached out and rubbed his scruffy face.

"I need you to watch after something that belongs to me."

"What?"

"Celeste, come here." He shouted down the hallway.

Meredith had no clue what was about to happen, but she hadn't expected the the little teenager from the fire escape to be standing in front of her. She looked hungry; she was dirty and sad.

"Hi." The girl looked up at her.

"Hey, cutie." Meredith knelt down to her height and pushed the dirty hair out of her face.

"Will you watch after Celeste while I'm in LA? Please, Meredith." Dean begged.

Meredith looked at Dean's saddened eyes, and the back at Celeste. She needed shelter, and it was obvious that Social Services hadn't done their job. It was all up to Meredith at this point.

"Of course I will, Dean." She stood back up and brought Dean into a group hug with Celeste.

This was Meredith's destiny. She loved helping people, and the fact that this person had meant so much to Dean was just icing on the cake to Meredith. She had moved to Cincinnati to help people, and she had already done so much for one person without even starting her job yet. Maybe Cincinnati wouldn't be so bad for her. Maybe this was exactly what needed to happen. Maybe it wasn't such a bad place to be after all.

When Dean arrived back in LA, he received a Skype video chat from Meredith and Celeste. He immediately smiled and accepted the call.

"Hey, cuties." He smiled.

"Hi, Deano." Celeste laughed.

"Shouldn't you be in bed?" He smirked and lifted his brow.

"Yeah, but I wanted to say goodnight to you first." She smiled.

"Goodnight, Cel."

"Goodnight." She smiled and moved the laptop towards Meredith.

Dean's heart warmed at the sight of his beautiful girlfriend. He wanted more than anything for her to be in LA with him, but he knew she had priorities in Ohio.

"Hey, gorgeous."

"Hi, babe." She smiled.

"It's pretty late over there, isn't it?"

"Yeah, I just wanted to see you." Tears brimmed her eyes.

"I miss you already." Dean half smiled.

"I can't believe I won't be with you everyday."

"I know, but you're making a difference in people's lives."

"I love you, Dean." She yawned.

"I love you too, Meredith. Get some sleep, alright?"

"Goodnight." Meredith smiled.

"Goodnight, Mrs. Ambrose." He smiled back and shut his laptop.

Dean walked back to the bedroom he had shared with Meredith, and laid down in the cool satin sheets. He still smelled her, he still felt her presence, but he knew that she was doing better things with her life. For the first night in almost eleven years, Dean could finally go to sleep without worrying what had happened to his little cousin, and it was all thanks to Meredith.

Meredith really was his soul mate. She had done so much for him in just seven months, and even though they pushed each other to the limits of hell, she always stayed, she always came back, and now, not only was she taking care of Celeste, but she was carrying his baby. He knew that it wouldn't have been possible for him to get the main event at Wrestlemania without Meredith's constant support, so he needed to be supportive of her job, as well.

Dean thought about how different things would've been if he had never become a member of the Shield, he thought about how different his life would have been if he didn't live in LA and if he wasn't in the WWE. He thought of how different his life would be if he had never left the pits of Ohio and taken a chance with his career. He thought about Meredith, and then everything else drifted away from his thoughts. He didn't need to look back because everything that was important to him was in the present.

Dean rolled over into the middle of the bed and shut his eyes. He watched Meredith's face appear when his eyes closed, and he sighed with relief and a sleepy grin spread across his face.

"I'm gonna marry that girl."
