Never Say Never Chapter 21
"babe, don't drive so fast. The last thing anyone needs is another accident" Anndrea said as her boyfriend was trying to get to the hospital
"I'm sorry babe" Seth said as he slowed down "I'm really worried and…" Seth said with tears starting to roll down his face
Anndrea reached over and wiped the tears.
"we don't know much yet, let's just get there and find out" Anndrea said trying to calm him down
About 10 minutes later they arrived at the hospital. They got to the right floor and went to the nurse' station. They found what room he was in.
"babe, I think you should go see him first. If he's unconscious I think you can bring him out of it" Seth said
"ok, will you be ok out here?" Anndrea said looking at him concerned
"He will be fine" Their other friend said as he came up behind them
"thanks" Anndrea said as she went to his hospital room
She slowly approached the door and hesitated to go in. She didn't know what to expect. She took a deep breath and walked in.
She had to hold back her tears at the sight she saw. There he was lying there, unconscious. He looked really banged up, bruises everywhere and he had a pretty nasty bumped on his head. She didn't see any casts on his arms or legs.
"he's in a coma. We aren't sure if he will make it. I'm sorry" She heard from behind her, it was the doctor
"what? He might not make it? OMG" Anndrea said and started crying.
"he had a pretty nasty hit to the head and some broken ribs. The next 24hrs will be critical to determining if he will wake up or not. I'm sorry" The doctor said to her
"No, thank you for telling me doc" Anndrea said trying to smile
"you're welcome. Listen, he had this in his hand when they brought him in. You should have this" the doc said handing her something. He nodded at her and she nodded back as he left.
Anndrea looked at what the doc gave her, it was their engagement picture.
"Oh roman, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault" She said as she continued to cry harder
Just then Jon placed his hand on her shoulder.
Anndrea turned to see who it was.
"Hey Jon" Anndrea said quietly
"hey. You know this isn't your fault. Don't say that" he said trying to reassure her
"this is my fault. He left to go to Florida because of me and now…look at him" Anndrea said as she looked at the state Roman was in
"He left because he wanted to. He wanted to think because he didn't want to say anything he didn't mean to you or Seth. Please don't blame yourself" Jon said as he sat next to her.
Anndrea placed her hand on Romans and stroked it a bit.
"I'll let you be alone with him" Jon said as he quietly slipped out
Jon walked out to the waiting room as he was greeted by Seth.
"how is he?" Seth asked curiously
"he's in a coma" Jon said quietly
"will he make it?" Seth asked choking back some tears
"they aren't sure" Jon said as he sat down and got really quiet
"Anndrea is in there with him right now, you should go see him" Jon said very quietly
"I will, thanks" Seth said as he headed towards Romans room. He heard talking coming from his room and knew it was Anndrea. He leaned against the doorway and listened in.
"Roman, im so sorry this happened to you. I somehow feel this is my fault. You left because of me. I just want you to know that my feelings haven't changed, I'm in love with Seth. You will always hold a very special place in my heart Rome. We can still be friends…I mean someone has to teach you how to wrestle" Anndrea said as she teared up and tears were streaming down her face.
Seth walked in, sat silently next to her and placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Hey" Anndrea said quietly
"are you ok?" Seth asked concerned
"Not really, I'm sorry babe" Anndrea said to him
"why are you sorry. You have no reason to be" Seth said rubbing her shoulders
"because, I shouldn't be getting this emotional over my ex fiancé, especially when my boyfriend is right in the same room" Anndrea said to him
"baby, it's ok. You two were once almost married and together for a long time. You are bound to get emotional" Seth said pretty much in tears himself
"Omg, im so bad. How are you doing? Seeing him like this must be hard" Anndrea said to him
"It's really hard babe. I really wish I would've told him I wanted to be friends again before he left. He might not ever know now" Seth said breaking down and crying
Anndrea let go of Romans hand and turned to face her boyfriend. She wiped some tears away from his face and then grabbed both of his hands.
"babe, he will know. He will wake up soon and he will be fine. You two will be back to the good old days in no time" Anndrea said trying to reassure him
" I hope you are right babe, I don't know what I would do without him" Seth said just bursting out into tears.
"babe, do you want to talk to him alone?" Anndrea asked him
"I would like that baby, thank you" Seth said to her trying to wipe away his tears
"Ok, I will be in the waiting room if you need me" Anndrea said as she kissed him sweetly on the cheek and left
Seth sat down and pushed the chair closer to Roman.
"Hey man. I would ask how you are but you can't talk back. I'm hoping you can hear me. I know I got really mad at you but I think it's understandable. You can't just forget your feelings about someone you almost married. As for us man, we are cool. That's what I wanted to tell you when you got back. I want us to be best friends again. So, please come back to us ok? Anndrea says she needs to teach us all how to wrestle" Seth started to say to him
"you have so much to live for, so come back to us ok man?"Seth said as he placed his hand on Roman's shoulder. Seth stood up and looked at Roman for a good 5 min and turned to walk away.
Seth felt a hand grab his arm. Seth turned to find Roman awake, looking straight at him.
"all is well man" Roman said to him
"Omg Rome, you're awake" Seth said as he couldn't believe his eyes
Just then Jon came in.
"well, well, look who's awake. Couldn't stay away could ya bro" Jon said as he got closer to Roman and Seth.
"no, I guess I couldn't. You know we are going to have to have Anndrea teach us some good moves" Roman said which caused all the guys to laugh
"yeah we will have to" Jon said still laughing.
"I just can't believe they said you might not make it and now here you are wide awake" Jon said smiling and glad his friend was going to be ok
"well Jon, you better believe that" Seth said smiling at the two
"yeah and BELIEVE IN THE SHIELD BOYS" Roman said as he put his fist out. Jon and Seth put their fists with Romans and smiled at each other. The boys were finally together again.
