Chapter 21
Padme rolled over in bed as she heard a buzzing sound coming from the small desk that was across the small room.
" Ok, ok . . . I am coming." Padme got out of bed and went over to the desk and picked up her Com-link.
" Good you are up, you are needed to be here for a meeting." Obi-Wan looked over to Anakin and saw the young senator nod his head as he turned away and headed back into his bedroom so he could finish packing up a couple of things that he would need for his mission.
" Um. . . no I was not awake . . . um, what meeting and where is here?" Padme went over to the small Caf machine and began making herself some hot tea.
" Oh sorry, um . . . you mean no one has told you about your next mission, and the briefing is at Senator Skywalker's apartment, because we are going as his bodyguards." Obi-Wan went over to the hutch and poured his a cup of Caf.
" No, no-one has not told me anything about my next mission and when is this briefing supposed to be happening?" Padme poured the sweetener into her tea.
" I see, well the briefing will be happening in an hour." Obi-Wan picked up the small plate and began putting some fruit and toast onto the plate.
" Ok then I will be there in about twenty minutes." Padme took a sip of her tea and then going over to the small bed and sat down.
" Ok see you then, oh would you like for me to make you a plate of fruit and toast?" Obi-Wan went over to the dining table and sat down.
" Um . . . that sounds great so yes please that would be great, I will see you soon." Obi-Wan nodded as Anakin came back into the room and went over to the hutch and poured himself some Caf.
Padme disconnected the Com-link and took a couple more sips of her tea, before getting up, getting dress and packing a small bag, and just as she was finishing putting a clean robe into the bag there was a buzz coming from over the nightstand.
" Great who now." Padme mumbled to herself as she went over to the nightstand and picked up her Com-link.
" Morning young Jedi Knight Naberrie . . . I have some news for you." Master Windu's voice came over her Com-link.
" Morning Master Windu and how can I help you this morning, and what is the news that you have for me?" Padme went over to the writing desk and picked up her lightsaber and clipping it onto her belt.
" I just found a request to have you and Obi-Wan to join Senator Skywalker on a mission and you and him will be acting as bodyguards." Windu looked down at the data pad that has mission requests and saw her name on it and who made the request for her to go the mission with him.
" Um. . . . yes I do know about the mission because Obi-Wan just called me and told me all about it so I really need to head out now, so I will not miss the meeting with the Senator and Obi-Wan." Padme went over to the bed and picked up her bag.
" Ok, then you all be safe and May The Force Be With the three of you, and see you when you get back here." Windu nodded to Yoda who just came into the room and was followed by a young Toguta.
" Thank you Master and May The Force Be With You and Grand Master Yoda." Padme disconnected the Com-link and then headed out of the room.
Twenty minutes later Padme was walking into the apartment and came up to the dining table where Obi-Wan and Anakin was sitting at.
" Morning, I am so sorry about being here now, and that I did not know about this mission, oh Master Windu just told me all about it as I was just about to walk out the door to get here." Padme saw the plate that had the fruit and toast on it and next to it was cup of tea, jam and butter.
Padme sat down at the table and picked up the knife and began buttering and putting jam onto her toast.
" Ok . . . the only thing that ask the both of you to do is just be a bodyguard and also to feel these people out to make sure there is nothing going on this planet, because what I am trying to do is make sure that are welling to stay in the Republic and to make sure that the separatists are not around that the system." Anakin took a sip of Caf as he watched Padme eat one of the pears that was on her plate.
" Ok that sounds easy enough, and why do you think that there are Separatists around that system?" Padme finished eating her fruit that was on the plate.
" Two days ago, we got some news that there was a couple of Separatists' droid ships floating around some of the astroidfield and who knows what if this is even true." Anakin finished up his Caf and breakfast.
" We were told the same thing, so in a way that is why am going with you so that way I can tell the Council what is going on in that system, so that means that Padme here is going to be your bodyguard." Obi-Wan looked over to the newly knighted Jedi and gave her a smile that told her that trusted her because this was her first mission as a Knight and not a Padawan Learner.
" Well if we are done here then we must began to head out for the planet." Obi-Wan stood up from the table and moved around so that way his back made some popping sound.
Padme nodded and then both her and Obi-Wan just stood up from the table and then followed Anakin out to the ship as the cleaning droids came out of the kitchen and began cleaning up the dining room table.
Twenty minutes they were way above the planet of Coruscant and once the coordinates was put into the Navi-computer the ship shot into hyperspace.
It was two days later and they came out of Hyperspace and before they could pass the planet's moon they were hit by laser and Padme was forced to crash the ship on one of the outer planets.
(Three Days Later)
" I do wish the reinforcements come soon, I do not know how much longer we can hold them off." Obi-Wan came up beside Padme and looked down at the main street below them.
" I do too, and so for the shield is holding, but you do know when the reinforcements come we do have to lower the shield." Padme turned and looked at her ex-Master.
" Yes I know that, but it is the only chance we have to hold this city and push the droids back." Obi-Wan could only nod at the young Jedi Knight.
" Hey I just go news that four ships just entered the system." Anakin came up to the two Jedi and gave them the news.
" That is great, and I hate to tell you this Senator but when that Trooper transport ship lands I want you on it so it can take you to one of the ships above us, and take you to your meeting with the people that we were heading for when we were shot down." Padme looked up at Anakin and gave him a sad look because she really did not want to leave him, but she does have a duty to do as a Jedi.
" No I will stay here and help you guys out, I have radioed the King and told him what was going on I that I will be there as soon as I can." Anakin looked at the two Jedi and gave them both a look that let them know that he meant what he was telling them.
" Padme is right Anakin really should go on ahead of us." Obi-Wan looked Anakin straight in the face and told him what he thought was best for the young Senator.
" No Obi-Wan he is right, he needs to stay with us because our first duty is to protect the Senator, and if he leaves us then something could happen to him too while we are not with him." Padme looked at Obi-Wan and watched him stroke his beard then she turned to look at Anakin and he gave her a smile.
" Yes Padme you are right, it is our job to protect the Senator, and also something could happen to him if he does leave us, ok Anakin you can stay but try to stay behind us." Obi-Wan nodded over to Padme told her what she said was true that they had to stay with Anakin and to protect at all cost, and it is not their fault that he wanted to stay here and fight the battle with them.
(Four Hours Later)
" Ah good the Troop Transport has finally came, and I see a Padawan Learner." Padme looked up as the ship landed not too far from her and Obi-Wan.
" Yes it is good that they have finally reached us, young Padawan Learner this is a surprise." Obi- Wan looked at Padme before turning his attention to the young girl that stepped off the transport.
" It is a pleasure to be here, um Master Kenobi, Jedi Knight Naberrie and Senator Skywalker." the young Padawan Learner came up to the three people.
Padme and Anakin just nodded to the young girl, before going over to the Captain of the group of Troopers.
" Ok . . . um what are you doing here, because after this battle Padme and I will be with the Senator and continue his mission." Obi-Wan looked at the young Toguta and wondered why she was here.
" Well the Council sent me here." the young Toguta looked up at the Jedi Master.
" Um . . . I see and who might you be?" Obi-Wan looked down at the young girl.
" Oh sorry . . . I am Ahsoka Tano." the young Padawan Learner held out her hand to the older man.
" Well then it is very nice to meet you Ahsoka." Obi-Wan shook Ahsoka's hand just as Padme came back over to Obi-Wan.
" Well the Troopers are going to stay here because Master Windu is on his way down here, so we can head out and continue our mission, so what brings you hear young one?" Padme looked down at the Padawan Learner as she came back up to Obi-Wan.
" That is good to hear, well the Council sent her." Obi-Wan looked up at his ex-Padawan Learner.
" I see I guess they think that you needed another Padawan." Padme looked from the young girl over to Obi-Wan.
" I really do not think that they will give me another Padawan so soon, well here Master Windu." Obi-Wan looked up to the ship that was landing near them.
Once everyone was briefed on what was going on, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme and the Padawan Learner boarded a ship and continue their mission with Anakin.
