I will admit I am a little frightened, Tobias has been acting nice to me all day, after I tackled him and gave him the worst seat in class. "You okay?" I say to him keeping my distance a little.
"I'm just grand!" He says and grabs my hand, he is unusually sweet.
"I don't trust you." I say, he pull me close to him and puts his arms around me.
"Trust me, you have nothing to fear." He says and kisses me lightly.
"No matter how sweet you are I am still not trusting you." He sighs and smiles.
"You think I'm planing something huh?"
"Me? What no! I would never think that of you. You're to dumb!" I tease. He gives me a shocked look.
"Me! Who told you that. Was is Uriah! Damn him. I told him not to tell you, I'm going to go find him and kill him." He says dropping my hand and walking away, I don't trust him with me but I don't trust him alone more, So I run after him.
"I'll come."
"You might not want to see this." I laugh and grab his hand. "Hey Uri!" He yells to Uriah who automatically starts to panic.
"I didn't do it I swear!" He says.
"Don't worry Uri this wont hurt as bad as last time."
"Four, you are the biggest dork ever!" I say and start to laugh. He turns to face me and a smile creeps across his face.
"I couldn't be though. You just said I was dumb and that's why I'm killing Uri. But a dork, I told you not to tell anyone." He says. I walk up to him and put my arms around his neck.
"Sorry, my bad." I whisper and kiss his lips lightly.
"Oh see now you're making up for it."
"Hey guys, we are still in school you know." Uri says.
"Oh yeah we know. Gym class right?" Tobias says
"Uh. Yeah, I think."
"Are we in the gym?"
"Yes."
"Then Yes Uri we are in gym."
"Oooh, right okay. Hey Mar you were right we are in gym this period!"
Tobias and I start to laugh, Uriah is always so...I don't even know how to put it.
"Oh Tris." Tobias says leaning in close to me. "I will get you back." He finishes an kisses me lightly. I pull away and look at him in shock.
"I knew it! I knew it!"
"That you did, never let your guard down."
"Oh god I will never let it down."
"Oh and don't trust anything I do."
"I wont!"
"You're going down Tris. Sorry. Not sorry."
"You just feel like you have to get me back, how many times were you called on in class? Five? Six?"
"Eight times."
"Damn. And how was that desk?"
"Small...and wobbly."
"Ah, sucks. See I didn't get called on once, and my desk fit nicely and it didn't wobble. "
"Don't rub it in Tris. I will get you."
"Okay. Okay. I will stop...maybe." I say and wink and him, that's when the teacher comes in, we start with running some laps, Tobias is running right next to me.
"What if I tripped you?"
"I would trip you!"
"Oh you wouldn't because I would have tripped you first so you would be on the ground."
"I would grab your leg. Or I would get up and tackle you like I did earlier."
"Oh that's cold." He says. I laugh and consecrate on running.
After we have all run three laps we can either head to the small gym or walk/run/job, I decide that I would just head to the gym and try to build up some strength, I'm not that weak.
"You sure you should be in here Stiff? You might get hurt." Peter says, I haven't seen him much at all.
"The only one getting hurt in here will be you if you don't shut up." I say, and head to one of the mats and stretch.
After school is finally over I head to my car and drive off before Tobias can stop me. Three miles before I'm home and my tire goes flat, are you serious! Right then my phone rings, I pull over and answer it. "Hello!" I snap.
"Hows the flat going?" Tobias says on the other line.
"You ass!"
"It wasn't me, I'm behind you." I look behind me and see him parked in his car, he waves and hangs up the phone. "Need some help?" He says getting out of his car.
"I need a ride home, I don't have spare."
"Hop in." He in he gesturing to his car.
"You wont try to get back at me will you?"
"Nope, promise."
"Alright." I say and get in his car.
When we get to my house I thank him and get out of the car. "Do I get a see ya thank you?"
"See ya thank you." I say and close the door, he rolls down the window, and gives me a sad face. "Nope sorry." I say and run inside. I watch out the window and wait for him to leave he just sits out there, my phone rings I answer it still watching him. "Hello?"
"I'm not leaving until you get back out here."
"Looks like you're going to be out there for a while." I say and hang up, I leave the window and head for the kitchen to make a snack. My mom should be home soon and Caleb any second now.
"Hey Tris," Speak of the devil.
"Kitchen!" I yell to him.
"Oh, hey. Uh, why is Four out front sitting in his car?"
"He's waiting for me."
"Why don't you go?"
"Don't want to."
"Fight?"
"Nope." I shoot him a smile and take a bite of my apple and head up to my room, my phone rings and this time I check who it is, Christina. "Hey."
"So Four called me."
"God what did he want."
"He told me to tell you he's not leaving? Not sure what he's talking about."
"Okay. Thanks."
"Sure...I guess. Bye."
"Bye." I go down stairs and open the front door, I can see Tobias looking at me from his car, I flip him off and flash him a smile. "Don't trust ya!" I say and head back inside.
Bzzzz My phone goes off. A text. From Tobias. "I need to tell you something."
Oh my god will he leave me alone! I go out to his car and he roll down the driver window. "You're pissing me off."
"That's fine. Hey do you want to come over to my house later?"
"Uh. Sure? Wait. Why?"
"My dad's going to be gone for the next week, just got a text from him see." He says and shows me the text.
"Alright I'll come, but only for like an hour."
"Oh I think it will be more than an hour." He says with a wink.
"Huh?"
"Party. Spring Break party! Everyone is coming, hell even your brother!" I eye him suspiciously.
"Fine. I'll be there. What time?"
"9:00."
"Be there at 9:30."
"Okay, I'll see ya then." He looks at me expectantly.
"Fine!" I say and kiss his cheek. "It's all you deserve."
"Better than nothing." He says, I smile at him and walk inside.
"Caleb! I need help!"
"What?" He says storming down the stairs.
"Tire went flat about three miles back need your help getting a tire there, I just need to you drive me, dad has a tire in the shop."
"Fine, hurry."
I run outside grabs a tire and put it in Caleb's car. I get in the passenger seat and close the door. "Go." I say, he pulls out of the driveway and head down to my car. Almost 10 minutes to get there. "Thanks a million!" I say.
"Welcome Tris. See you at home." He says and the drives away when I get the tire out. I get the tools and begin to change the tire, I hate doing this but it must be done.
"Do you need some help Ms.?" Someone says, I turn around and see a well-built guy standing on the sidewalk, and I know I have Tobias, but this guy was hot!
"Huh? Oh uh no, I got it." I say and screw on the tire. "See done." I say and smile.
"Okay. Pretty girls shouldn't be changing tires, you should get a guy to do that."
"I'm pretty sure any girl can even if they are pretty. Which I'm not so hey prefect!" I smile, okay he is hot but saying I shouldn't change a tire because I'm a girl just ugh gets me irritated.
"Okay, okay. Chill, just saying. You should have, your dad, brother, and boyfriend do that."
"Oh, yeah. Well I will think about that. Maybe I will call one of them next time, even if it would be faster to do it myself."
"Sassy. Love it."
"Well, I have to get going. Bye uh..."
"Blaine."
"Bye, Blaine."
"Bye,"
"Tris."
"Tris, pretty name."
"Thanks. I guess. Uh Goodbye." I say and get in the car and leave. He may have been hot but he has no flirting skills, or any that I would find attractive.
I get home to find Christina over. "Girl! I am here to help you get ready for Four's party!" She says when she see's me walk in the door.
"Oh? Yay?" I say confused. She grabs my hand and we run upstairs.
"Dinner will be ready in an hour!" My mom shouts to us.
"Got it!" I say and Christina shuts the door.
"First I got you and outfit!" She opens a bag and pulls out a small black dress and some really high heels.
"No!"
"Yes!" She says. "Just try it on!" I sigh and grab the dress, go to the bathroom and change. When I get it on I step out and she gasps. "Holy crap yes!" I look in the mirror and I also gasp. The tighter fit shows the almost nonexistent curves I have. "Shoes, get the heels on!" I slip them on and they make my legs look longer. The whole outfit changes everything about me.
"Wow." Is all I can say.
"Make up and hair now, get out of the dress and let's do this!" Christina instructs. I do as she says and when I come out she begins my hair, she just starts to curl it. When she's done she pins a few pieces up and stands back. "Damn, I am just on a roll today! You can't look yet." She starts to put the make up on.
"Light please." I say, I'm guessing she is ignoring me, because I feel a bunch of different' brushes and products going on my face.
20 minutes later she's done. And my mother yells up the stairs telling us dinner is done. "Okay, you can look when we finish dinner let's go." Christina says and rushes me down stairs.
"Oh my Tris, you look so pretty!" My mom says when we sit down.
"Oh really I haven't even seen myself yet."
"No worries you look Fabulous!"
Christina and I only have one piece of pizza because we know there will be food there. We thank my mom for making dinner and head my up stairs. "Okay Get in the dress while I touch up." Chris says, I go i the bathroom and put the dress on. I look in the small mirror in there, she really did a good job on the make and hair, she even did light like I said, well kind of, more of a light eye shadow.
"Okay Chris ready." I say, Christina has transformed in a matter of minutes, she is in a beautiful black dress with tons of sparkles and some high heels. "You look amazing!" I say.
"Tris, I did an amazing job on your face! Check us out! Only if Mar, Shau and Lynn would have come with me they too could look like us!"
"You have a way of turning someone into a whole new person."
"I know! I love it! Let's go, it's already 9:20." We head down stairs, I say goodbye to my parents and tell them I'm staying the night at Christina's after the party.
"Okay. Have a good time." Mom says as we close the front door.
"Okay, my car!" Cristina says, I don't argue and get in her car. I might be a little more later than I said I would but I really don't care. "You have the address?" She asks.
"Uh, no. Let me call Four."
"Hey beautiful."
"What's your address?"
"You're just now leaving?"
"Yup. Give it to me."
"I'll text it to yea."
"Kay, hurry."
"See ya soon." I can just see the half-smile he has on, I hang up the phone and wait for his text. A few seconds later I get the text and put it in the GPS.
"Alright! Lets go!" Christina says and turns the radio up as she drives off.
