Rie's POV:
It was Tuesday, which means I have 'training' with Oliver, I entered the factory and immediately started talking "Oliver, you do know that there might be a possibility that I lose my glasses while I'm fighting or struggling or something right?" I asked him. He's back was facing me, he was hunched in front of his computers and after a few seconds he turned to me and said "yes Rie I know that. That is why I'm going to start training you today with a blind fold." He gave me a smile and placed the blind fold on me. "Trust me?" he whispered in my ear, "I would have already ran away if I didn't." I replied, and then he started teaching me.
After 2 hours, I was as horrible as I started. "Oliver, I am just getting worse by the second." I told him, he shook his head and laughed at me, "Princess, nothing in life comes easy. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it sooner… or later" he shrugged the last part. I rolled my eyes at him and said "well I have to go, I shall have dinner with the Merlyn's." I stood up and grab my bag then headed to kiss his cheeks, he hugged me and said "You and Thea will be alright, right? She's devastated Rie… She is missing you. I know I'm not the one to lecture you but, she already feels…like she lost me and somehow she did, she doesn't need to lose you too." I held his hand and said "She won't lose me Oliver. I just need sometime to figure things out." I replied and then walked out.
As I was driving, my phone rang. I checked it and it was a message from Oliver saying 'if you want it to be easier next time, do me a favor and try to familiarize yourself with your surroundings. The sounds, the scent and the textures. Everything. 'I replied 'yes master!:)' to him.
I arrived at the Merlyn's mansion the same time as dada did. As we were headed inside he said "Rie, I'm fencing tomorrow, want to join me?" I looked at him and said "ofcourse dada, we haven't done that in a long time. I hope I am not that rusty." I finished it with a laugh. "Rie you are an easy learner, you'll get the hang of it again in less than 30 minutes" he said putting a hand on my shoulder while leading me to the dining room, where Tommy is surprisingly waiting for us. "Well I am shocked that my son is home early after being late for months" dada said as he pulled my seat out for me and sat himself. "Well dad it is not everyday Rie is here" Tommy replied. These two would never be close again. Things have changed between them since mama died. The air looming on them became hostile, cold and uncaring. I cleared my throat and said, "shall we eat? I'm starving." And proceeded to get food and they followed suit.
After dinner I decided to take a bath and then head to the library/dada's office and do some office work there and at the same time, search for the assignment Oliver had given me. I downloaded different sounds as well as its descriptions and the likes. My only problem was, how do I familiarize myself with different scents. Anyway, I was done typing the paper works and transferring my homework to my iPhone at 12:35 am. I started to head to my room as my phone started to ring. It flashed 'unknown number', but I still answered it. "Hello?" I said, "Princess," a man with a deep voice said on the other side. I figured that this was Oliver's other phone and said, "hey! What's up?" , "I'm going to hunt deadshot tonight, I just thought I should let you know. Be safe princess." He said and then he hung up. 'well that was nice' I thought as I entered my room. I was surprised to see Tommy sleeping on the bed, I guess he tried to wait for me. I removed my glasses and switched the light off and let sleep in.
It was Friday already and my body was aching .It didn't help that I went fencing with dada on Wednesday,I had fun and spent almost 3 hours fencing and I have a little to no improvement with my training with Oliver but I would get it soon. I just need a much longer time than expected. I was also thankful that Oliver has a very very long patience with me. I was sitting in my office when Walter and mom entered, I gave them my 'what's the matter?' look and they looked at each other. Then Walter started to say "Rie I know Thea and yourself isn't in good terms, but tomorrow night I will be in an auction to get a company and I was hoping that I could get all the support from our family and that includes you, I hope it is alright that you come with us?", I thought about it and nodded my head yes and said "I think my stay with the Merlyn's is long over due, but I won't be riding with you on the way there." They said their thanks and left my office and I dialed Oliver's number. "Princess?" I heard him say, "Hey Oliver! Didn't you say last night that Deadshot was targeting everyone who is trying to buy a certain company , which includes your stepfather?" I said. "Yes he is. Why?" He replied. "The auction would be tomorrow. Oliver and your parents asked me if I could be there because Walter wanted all the support from our family blab bla bla and I said yes. Oliver this is something big, you're not gonna be able to do this alone. You need help." I said "and who will help me Rie? I'm some psycho who kills elite people to them." He replied. "Look, I have no time to comfort you with your woos on being who you are at night. But ask help from detective Lance, I'm pretty sure he would help. Besides, it is his job to protect people and it would be in his conscience if he did not help and something happened to the people. I have a meeting to attend to. Bye, be safe." Then I hung up and now I hope he knows how nice it was to be hung up on.
Oliver's POV:
After Rie hung up the phone, I was more frustrated. I know that the auction was tomorrow but I wasn't expecting Thea and Rie to be there. If what Rie said was right, Walter and mom would ask me and Thea tonight to come with them tomorrow night. I kicked the wall and paced. Rie is right this is going to be something big, and I am going to need help. I am not going to take chances, not with Rie, I can't lose her again. I am going to ask Det. Lance's help tonight.
A/N: Sorry for the long wait guys. I just got back from Hong Kong and Cebu. Also I just started my internship so I'm still adjusting to my new schedule. Hope you guys understand and will like this chapter even though it is a bit short. The best chapter is coming closer than you expect!
