Chapter Twenty-One: The Sweetest of Hearts

The Mystic Grill – A Little While Later

April Young had just walked into the Grill when she suddenly found herself flat on her back. The pain beneath her was enough to tell her that she shouldn't be getting up any time soon before she suddenly found not one, but three concerned faces around her. Her eyes, however, fell onto the dark blue ones that were on her right. "Are you all right, ma'am?" he asked.

April nodded slowly. "Yeah, but my back hurts like hell. Or should I not say that, being a pastor's daughter?"

"You're Pastor Young's daughter?" the man asked, his eyebrow rising in confusion.

April raised her eyebrows. "Yeah, since the day I was born. Why? He hasn't mentioned me at all? It figures."

The three people around her went quiet and that made her even more curious and concerned. "Your, um…your father is dead. He died in explosion a few months ago," she heard the other man say.

April heard this and if it wasn't for the shooting pain in her back, she would've shot up. "He's dead? Why the hell wasn't I informed about it? I'm his daughter, damn it!"

The blonde female quickly took a hold of April's neck then placed her wrist against it. "Darling, drink this and you can heal, so we can talk more about this," she instructed. April did as the blonde asked and placed her lips over the other female's wrist.

It wasn't long before April was healed and the blonde help her up. "Thank you. I feel better now."

"I'm Rebekah Mikaelson, it's nice to finally meet you," the blonde told her with a soft smile. April watched as she nestled against the man with the green eyes and he put his arm around her, kissing the top of her head.

April smiled at the couple. "It's nice to meet you too, Rebekah, and the cute guy you're with."

Rebekah giggled. "This is my boyfriend, Stefan Salvatore."

He gave her a courteous smile then shook her hand gently before April turned to the other man, once again drowning in his beautiful blue eyes. "I'm Matt Donovan," he told her.

April smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Matt."

Before he could respond, a sound crashed from near the back, close to the bar and Matt groaned in frustration. "When are they going to learn?" he muttered before shaking April's hand and going to check on the crashing sound.

April watched as he walked away and then looked at Rebekah and Stefan. "Has he always been handling this place by himself?"

"Pretty much," Stefan said. "It's a Donovan family tradition."

"I'm going to ask if he needs any help," April said before going over to where Matt is, cleaning up the mess.

Stefan looked at Rebekah, who looked concerned. "You don't have to worry about him so much, you know," he said softly as he kissed the side of her head once again.

"He's…I know we were together when you and I reunited, Stefan, but he's also my friend. I worry that they won't be well-suited, since she's now an orphan, and he's all but emancipated," she said quietly.

Stefan nodded. "She seems to like him. I saw the way she couldn't keep her eyes off of him." He kissed her softly. "I know you're concerned, Rebekah, but Matt is a tough kid. Believe me, I played football with him, so I know he's no pushover."

"And neither are you. You're patient, kind, loving," she said as she turned in his arms and looked up at him. "So, will you help me try to bring them together?"

Stefan nodded. "Of course I will help you." He smiled. "So, Ms. Cupid, what's your plan to get these potential lovebirds together?"

Her nose wrinkled in thought as she looked over to where they were talking, not knowing that they were really arguing. "You're not suited to work here, April, and I don't want you to get hurt, okay?" he told her. His hand was gripping onto the edge of the bar as he resisted looking over at her.

"No, you don't want me here because you know I'm underage, and most of the customers are men that can't seem to keep their hands off of the waitresses. You don't really know me, Matt Donovan!" she told him before turning and stomping out the front door.

Stefan saw April leave and looked at Rebekah. "Was that part of the plan?"

Rebekah saw the door close and realized that April had gone. "Damn it! She wasn't supposed to leave! We have to get her back here!"

"You take care of Matt, I'll talk to April," he said before quickly dropping a kiss onto her lips and exiting the way that April had gone, finding her struggling to put her key into the keyhole of the driver's door. "April!"

April looked up to see Stefan approaching her. "Go away, Stefan."

"No, I'm not going away," he replied. "I want you to talk to me. Now, what happened in there? Why did you run off like that?"

"Because, Matt needs to learn that not all girls like me are as vulnerable as they seem," April replied. "I've worked in places that were in worse condition than the Grill, even helping out a friend by filling in for them at a strip club."

Stefan gently grabbed her arms. "April, please, just listen to me, okay? Matt didn't think you were vulnerable. That's not the kind of guy he is. He's got more respect for girls than that. He may not have a mother around to teach him, but I know for a fact that he's a gentleman."

"He didn't have to think or say it out loud, but I could see it in his eyes, Stefan. I saw the same look in my father's eyes before he sent me off to boarding school when my mother died. I…I just can't handle people thinking that I'm not capable of taking care of myself," April said.

Stefan sighed as he listened to this. Why was she making this so hard? "April, please, just give Matt a chance. I saw the way you were looking at him earlier and I know that you like him. Girls who like a boy like him don't run away. They stay and make it work."

She nodded quietly. "I'll try to make it work, but if he is mean to me again, I'm not doing this over," she said.

Stefan smiled. "Thank you, April. You won't regret this, I promise."

Back in the Grill

"Why don't you want April working here, Matt?" Rebekah asked as she helped him clean up the mess.

"Because, like me, she's not old enough, but I've been here since forever, when my mom thought it would be nice to dessert me," he replied.

Rebekah raised an eyebrow. "Is that what this is about, April being too young to work here? Or is it because you think she can't handle herself? Let me tell you something, Matt, my brothers all thought I couldn't handle myself, but I'm perfectly capable of handling myself, and if you gave her a chance, you'd see that April is capable of handling herself too."

"I hope you're right, Rebekah," Matt said with a sigh as he turned to see Stefan bringing April back into the Grill.

Matt excused himself from Rebekah and went over to April. "April, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said what I said."

"Your apology is accepted, Matt," she said with a soft smile.

"Thanks," he said with a shy tilting of his head.

Stefan went back over to Rebekah, smiling at her. "I think there shouldn't be any problems from here on out."

"I think so too," she said with a smile back at him. "I love you, Stefan Salvatore."

Stefan smiled. "I love you too, Rebekah Mikaelson."

She smiled once again then squealed softly as he began to give her an Eskimo kiss, rubbing his nose against hers before capturing her lips with his in a soft, tender gesture. Rebekah smiled against his lips and returned his kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck and bringing her hands up to run her fingers through his hair.

"Will you take me home now?" she whispered after breaking off the kiss to look at him.

Stefan smiled as he said, "As my lady commands." Then, after kissing her one more time, he vamp sped them out of the Grill and toward the boardinghouse.

When they got there, Rebekah pinned Stefan against the wall next to the banister, kissing him passionately before ripping open his shirt with her vamp speed and he returned the favor, pulling her blouse up over her head and then attacking her neck with open-mouthed kisses as he turned them around, slamming the front door shut with his booted foot while walking them backward towards the stairs.

It wasn't long before they arrived at the loft and once there, Stefan shut and locked the door, vamp speeding them to the bed. There, he gently placed more open-mouthed kisses over the skin of her stomach before reaching for the button of her jeans, unfastening it and lowering the zipper.

Rebekah moaned as she felt he was doing, going for the button and zipper of his jeans as well. Once they were gone, Stefan moved up her body and claimed her lips once again while stroking one hand gently over her thigh. Rebekah threw her head back, leaving his lips and letting out a scream of pleasure, panting heavily. "Stefan, please don't tease me…" She spoke from between letting out ragged, uneven pockets of air while using her fingers to mess up her blonde hair.

Stefan smirked. "I have no intention of teasing you, my love. I intend on giving you everything I have."

"Well, will you give it to me now? I've been patiently waiting all day for you," she said on a slight whine.

Stefan smiled and without a verbal reply, he grabbed her hips and drove his throbbing member into her core, thrusting hard and fast. Rebekah gyrated in time with his thrusts, keeping in sync with his movements.

Two Hours Later – Elsewhere

Jeremy was in the process of helping himself to some refreshments for the annual Homecoming dance when he sensed someone tugging on his arms. His head turned to see the last person he expected to see… "Anna? What are you doing here?"

"Don't think about me if you don't want to, champ, but you are so sexy right now and you know I can't resist you," his ex-girlfriend said, continuing to tug him along. He didn't resist her, claiming her lips in a soft, desperate kiss once they were a safe distance away, deepening it when she didn't stop him and pressing himself against her, all but pushing her against the wall behind her.

Jeremy kissed Anna hotly and then pulled back to look at her. "I don't know why you're here, but I do know that you're absolutely beautiful and I love you so much."

"I dressed up, just for you," she told him, gesturing to the dress she wore.

Jeremy eyed her up and down. "I like this dress on you." He gently touched her face. "You look like an angel. Well, an angel that happens to be a vampire, but an angel just the same."

"Shut up and kiss me already," she said with a smirk, pulling his head down until she could connect their lips once again.

Jeremy nodded and replied, "Yes, ma'am." That being said, he pulled her to him and kissed her passionately.

She returned his kisses then used her vamp speed to get them to the pool, where she immediately pushed his jacket off and he relinquished his hold on her to quickly strip his T-shirt away. Licking her lips, Anna reached down after crossing her arms then peeled her dress off, and Jeremy's eyes grew wide before going back to their regular form as he then snatched her against him, capturing her lips once again and letting a small sound escape him about how appreciative he was to see her this way.

Once they were completely naked, Jeremy scooped Anna into his arms and carried her into the pool, pushing her up against the wall and spread her legs apart, driving his member into her core, thrusting hard and fast.

Anna let out a loud gasp as her legs wrapped around his waist, her fangs immediately popping out and she bit into his wrist after lifting it within her reach. Jeremy felt her bite his wrist and increased his thrusts, throwing his head back, letting out a scream of pleasure.

Finally, he sank against the wall, holding her while his hands stroked gently over her sweat-drenched skin. "That…was amazing," he said hoarsely.

Anna smiled. "It was, wasn't it?" She kissed him. "I missed you so much, Jeremy Gilbert, more than words can say."

"I missed you too, Anna," he replied. "You're the best thing that ever happened to me."

"Why don't you take me home and show me that you mean those words?" she asked softly. She wasn't compelling him in any form; she really did want to be with him.

Jeremy nodded and replied, "As you wish, my lady." Then, after kissing her one more time, he pulled away so they could get dressed and then they went out to his car.

When they got to the Gilbert house, she immediately began kissing him as she vamp sped them up to his room and pushed him onto his back, straddling his lean, muscled hips. Jeremy returned her kisses as he pushed her dress over her head once again then stood up easily with her still in his arms to move over and close and lock his bedroom door.

Once their privacy was ensured, Anna vamp sped to his bed. This time, however, she was the one on top, having let Jeremy lead the last time. Using a gentle force, Anna ripped his shirt right down the middle and he grinned up at her before sitting up to remove the two halves that remained of his shirt before letting his mouth latch around the silk of her bra while using one hand to caress up her back, where he quickly unhooked the snaps of her bra, lowering the straps and finally pushing it away, tossing it somewhere behind her.

Anna then kissed his chest and moved her hands down to the button and zipper of his pants, undoing them both and pulling his pants down, playing with the waistband of his boxers, earning her a groan from Jeremy. "Are you ready for me?" he asked huskily against the skin of her chest, his mouth trailing downward to her belly button.

Anna smiled at him as she replied softly, "Always."

"Good," he said before shifting them both, removing his boxers and her underwear and thrusting into her as he moved them until he was up against the headboard.

Anna felt her fangs pop out and bit his neck, growling hungrily as she continued to match his speed.
