Part 84 (Answers) R for Violence.

Trip smiled at Amanda and he found out he was happy. He told her about Elizabeth and about Lizzie and his pain lessened. He watched as this woman cried for his loses and how she genuinely seemed to want to make him smile. He listened as she told him about her adventures. He could still not quite believe this immortality thing and yet he did feel that strange buzzing around. Duncan, Connor and the others. He wondered what it would mean to his life? Could he even go back to his Earth? Were there others like him there? What was this stupid game and what prize could be worth killing every other person like yourself. The only ones who really knew what it was to be immortal? It made no sense to him as he never craved power.

Amanda smiled at this young immortal. He was so innocent to the world. There was a joy in him that she had forgotten. The wonder of exploring a new place and people. It had been many years since she was so fascinated by a man. He was very intelligent and not jaded. That alone was worth a small fortune to someone who had seen and done so much. She could easily see spending a long time with him. Then there was the fact that he had a child. What immortal had ever been so blessed? She grinned as she recalled his pregnancy. She looked over at a horrified Duncan. Teasing she said

"Well maybe that is why we can not have children we are doing it backwards. You men are supposed to carry the babies."

"Bite your tongue woman. That is just crazy." he replied. "I am thinking if that is true there should never be babies of our kind."

Trip began to laugh at that "Hey Duncan that is what Jimmy my brother told his wife when she said he should carry the next one."

The group laughed.

Malcolm moved to question the Klingons. He looked down at them.

"Here is the deal gentlemen. Tell us what we wish to know and you will live."

"Never Human. What can you do? Humans are soft."

Malcolm stiffened. He was not used to playing the good cop. He glared as he began to formulate a reply. He was stopped by

Fire Wolfe.

"Perhaps the humans you know are soft. I am not human. " he said pulling back his hair revealing pointed ears.

The Klingon warriors froze a moment. They had not expected to face any but humans and perhaps members of House Mortak.

Thunder Walker pulled a long blade and began to sharpen it. He called out in a language that the Klingons could not understand and several men came carrying large poles. The poles were driven into the ground and a beam laid across it. Before they could react the Klingons were stripped of their shirts and hoisted up to be tied to the beams.

"I really do not care if you answer quickly." Thunder Walker said "It was my father and mother that were murdered by your people. I am hoping you resist." His eyes were icy cold. He turned to several men. "Build the fire and start the pitch I want it as hot as the dessert sun."

The Klingons swallowed hard and fought their fear. There would be no mercy here.

Methos came walking over and he was carrying a small pack. He laid it out on the ground. He began to withdraw interments.

Marcus Grisham had come over to help. He swallowed hard as he saw what the doctor took out. Those were not surgical instruments. He froze. Dr. Robert Helm was the most decent civilized man he knew. Marcus looked at him saw a hard coldness that had reverent here before. He had never really considered the doctor a threat. A problem but not a threat. Now however he saw things that would give a man a nightmare. He had once read about the inquisition in Spain. Looking down these devices could easily fit a torture chamber. Surely the doctor would not stoop to using them. He was opposed to even basic corporal punishment.

Methos did not spare Grisham a look. "Gentlemen I will have my answers. Your people have taken my town and injured those I care for. I am not as forgiving as Colonel Montoya about that. I am Doctor now." he paused. "This however is only a recent thing for me. I do believe I still remember my past. I could peel every inch of skin from your body and then heal you to begin again. Think about it."

Grisham felt an icy shiver he believed the doctor absolutely. He could tell the Klingons were thinking about it. Helm looked like Death himself and for the first time Captain Marcus Grisham feared this man he thought he knew so well.

Colonel Montoya walked over. "What makes you think I am in a forgiving mood doctor?" He asked. "Personally I think we should shoot them and stuff them. They would make interesting gifts for the King."

"We will never talk Human. We are loyal to our house."

"Well then we shall at least be amused by your screaming." Montoya said. He smiled and looked at the doctor. " Start with their feet. I will get you some wine. This will be thirsty work."
