The sun rose over the small boring town that was the world of our new members of this story to be told. Three girls who lived in a small one bedroom apartment in the middle of New Zealand. The eldest being the most hard, many reasons give way to this as we all know. To say the least she was boring with only the intent to protect the two younger girls that resided within her dwelling.

With an annoyed groan, the older of the three, Jessica was forced from her slumber by the loud screaming coming from the one bedroom that contained the other two girls. Opening her eyes, she blinked a few times in confusion as her vision cleared to see the ceiling above. Soon the ceiling was replaced with two panic stricken faces of Indi and Kristy.

"W-" Jessica started as the girls launched themselves onto Jessica, sobbing loudly into her chest and legs.

"Are you happy now?" Indi screamed into Jessica's legs as the older girl blinked in confusion.

"You are home now. You took us away from our families," Kristy sobbed as Jessica looked around the small cramped apartment.

"How did we get here?" Jessica asked as both of the girls slowly looked up at her.

"You mean..." Indi whispered as the girls for the first time took in the confused expression upon Jessica's face. Reality hit them, she was expecting to still be in Middle Earth as well.

"What happened when you left with Legolas?" Kristy asked as Jessica thought back to Middle Earth...

The world is changed

I feel it in the water

I feel it in the earth

I smell it in the air

Much that once was is lost,

For none now live who remember it.

"Jessica...we...need...to talk..." Legolas whispered as his eyes moved to the small group that had gather to watch in interest at the slowly developing events between the two.

"O...h...k...a...y..." Jessica whispered slowly as Legolas laced his fingers with hers to lead her away from the spectators. Legolas led her away from the front gates of Minas Tirith and into a small garden just inside the castle where the White Tree stood in full bloom.

"Legolas are you okay?" Jessica asked as he finally stopped walking, releasing her hand. He turned to face her, his face serious.

"I wish for all seriousness in this matter," Legolas said as he suddenly began to glance around the surrounding area as if nervous. "I believe this is a human tradition. One that I am not accustomed to."

"What is?" Jessica asked as Legolas slowly lowered himself onto one knee, taking Jessica's hands within his own. He looked up at her as their blue eyes met, Jessica suddenly found she was more nervous than the elf.

"Jessica...will you do me the great honor of becoming my wife?" Legolas asked slowly as he pulled a wooden box from within his sleeve. Opening the lid to reveal a silver ring that curled into three separate vines. The center creating the symbol of Mirkwood, diamonds scattering throughout the vines to make it shine eternally. White gold was inlaid into the ring to give the vines a little detail, making them more life like.

Jessica's mouth dropped open from the sheer shock of it all as Legolas glanced back at the ring as if uncertain of its beautiful now. Taking the band from the box, he quickly slid it onto her ring finger rising to his feet. Taking her face in his hands, he pulled her close to him the tips of their noses touching.

"Hand crafted. There is no other like it," he whispered his breath dancing across her lips as he awaited her answer. Jessica looked back to the ring on her finger, still in complete shock rendering her speechless.

It began with the forging of the Great Rings.

Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings.

Seven to the Dwarf-Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls.

And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desired power.

For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race.

But they were all deceived for another ring was made.

"Are you kidding me?" Kristy hissed from behind the bushes a little ways away, that very poorly hid her and Indi as they spied on the special moment.

"What?" Indi whispered unable to hear them like Kristy was able to. Kristy looked back to her friend in anger.

"He proposed with a hand crafted ring and she is frozen in place!" Kristy exclaimed in her annoyance.

"What?" Indi questioned as a shadow suddenly appeared above them, in a looming way, they dropped their heads at being caught.

"Someone..." Kristy whispered.

"I know..." Indi sighed as she gave a soft whimper.

"Ten bucks says Aragorn," Kristy whispered holding her hand out to Indi, dreading to turn around and face the King.

"Boromir," Indi said shaking her best friends hand before they took their last breath, preparing to turn around when another shadow appeared over them.

"What is it with humans and spying?" Elrohir asked causing the girls to jump directly into the branches of the bush.

"Well technically they are not human anymore," Elladan laughed over the girls as they in turn grabbed a hold of the ankles of the two spies. The girls turned screaming and dug their nails into the earth in hopes that they may find some hidden strength and hold their ground.

Deep in the land of Mordor,

in the fires of Mount Doom,

the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a

master ring to control all others,

and into this ring he poured his cruelty,

his malice and his will to dominate all life.

One ring to rule them all

"Jessica?" Legolas whispered as the girl slowly sank to her knees onto the ground as she looked at the elf who lowered himself back to his knee.

"I will take care of you. Your sister and Indi have safe passage in Mirkwood. I will take care of anything you need," Legolas pressed on as tears came to the girl's eyes.

"We are not suppose to be here. We are from the future. You are probably suppose to fall in love with another elf," Jessica finally whispered as words began to form in her mind once more.

"I will wait for you. I would have waited for you if you had not tripped through time," Legolas whispered, lifting Jessica's chin to meet her gaze.

"I don't know what to say..." Jessica confessed.

"I believe the appropriate response for most women is yes," Legolas teased pulling Jessica forward.

"Yes..." Jessica whispered as Legolas closed the space between them with a loving and tender kiss, which quickly turned into passion.

One by one, the free lands of Middle-Earth fell to the power of the Ring,

but there were some who resisted.

A last alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor,

and on the very slopes of Mount Doom,

they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth.

"Seriously let us go!"

Elrohir laughed at the continued shouting from the girls as they struggled in vain against their iron grips. Elladan, however, suddenly stopped his dragging noticing the weird looks the villagers were giving them.

"People are looking..." he whispered to his twin.

"Perhaps because you two make a very amusing scene," Eomer offered as he approached the twins, crossing their paths momentarily.

"Though I am afraid to admit. I do not mind seeing the two getting a taste of their own medicine," Aragorn teased as he approached the steadily growing group of people. The girls quickly kicked at the elves frantically trying to get away, afraid of the revenge that Aragorn could possibly come up with.

"We have to know!" Kristy cried out suddenly.

"Know what?" Jessica asked as all eyes turned to the couple emerging from the gardens.

"Legolas?" Aragorn whispered as Kristy and Indi gasped at Jessica in shock. Legolas gave a small grin to Aragorn as Jessica narrowed her eyes at the girls laying in the dirt.

"What?" she questioned.

"Your eyes..." Kristy whispered rising to her feet.

"What?" Jessica asked now genuinely curious.

"You have white in them," Indi said as she rose to her feet as well.

"No shit sherlock," Jessica snorted.

"No around the pupil. They are white then blue," Kristy said moving in closer to her sibling to inspect the white ring around the black of her pupil.

"What do you mean white?" Jessica asked.

"The ring you are wearing," Elrohir pointed out as he stepped forward earning a glare from Legolas. "Is one of the three Elven Kings."

Legolas moved closer to Jessica pulling her into his arms as she listened to the twin that was obviously meant for her sister in every sense of the term.

"No human has ever held an Elven King's Ring," Elladan said as he looked at the ring of Mirkwood.

"What do you mean three?" Indi asked.

"It's not like the Rings of Power. Each Lord, King, or Prince has one ring to pass down in their line to show the purity of the blood line. There are only three kingdoms that contain these rings. Lothlorien which is owned of Celegald, Rivendell which as you know my father owns both elven rings and Mirkwood one of which rests on your finger," Elrohir finished.

"What does that have to do with my eyes?" Jessica said annoyed as her eyes narrowed in on the elf who was planting kisses on the side of her head.

"You agreed to marry the Prince of Mirkwood. You are not gifted with immortality for as long as you wear the ring of the Kings. Your aging has momentarily stopped. You are now bound to him," Aragorn answered solemnly his eyes never leaving Legolas.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jessica hissed.

"I did not see the need to speak of such trivial things," Legolas replied with a shrug as he looked at the twins.

"Please don't decline!" Kristy and Indi shouted in unison.

"How are we bound? Elrohir you stay the hell away from my sister! She is not being bound to anyone!" Jessica shouted as Elrohir tried to move toward the younger sibling, though once the accusing finger shot out her backed away quickly.

"Immortality and love bind us," Legolas said stroking her cheek.

"I can not make Kristy immortal for two reasons. One she is already an elf and two my father would never pass on the ring. No offense but humans are liars and very deceitful...not that you three were, or are!" Elrohir said quickly.

"Great I'm the only mortal!" Indi huffed.

"Hobbits live quite some time," Aragorn reminded.

"Bilbo had the stupid ring!" Indi whined.

"So..." Kristy interrupted scooting closer to her sibling as Jessica remained glaring at Legolas as well as Aragorn.

"When are we going to Mirkwood?" Kristy asked as Elrohir pulled her into a tight embrace.

"You will not be returning to Rivendell with me, my love?" Elrohir asked feigning hurt as Kristy now looked on in confusion.

"Um...does Boromir know...about well...you know...you two?" Indi asked motioning between Jessica and Legolas. "Cause I don't know if you have noticed but you two sort of had a weird thing going on."

"Nothing was going on," Jessica defended quickly as Indi gave her the 'I'll-never-believe-you-in-a-million-years' look.

"So does he know?" Indi asked again.

"It just happened!" Jessica yelled. "How the hell would Boromir know?"

"Know what?" Boromir asked as he approached the group. Hearing his name said over a few times had spiked his interest. Though he was having a meeting with his brother, the two decided a small detour was needed.

"Jessica and Legolas-" Indi was met with a hand over her mouth, she turned her eyes to see Kristy was glaring at her.

"Jessica and Legolas?" Boromir repeated.

"Are to be wed," Legolas finished as Jessica's eyes suddenly found the ground to be extremely interesting. Boromir stood silent as tension rested over the group. Boromir moved in close to Jessica, Legolas not moving away from the girl.

"Oh shit they are going to fight," Kristy whispered as Indi removed her hand from her mouth.

"Boromir," Indi called quickly.

"Ugh! Fuck! Fine...I guess Legolas," Kristy huffed. They watched as Boromir smiled in response to hearing the bets being placed in his favor. Extending his hand to Legolas who looked at him confused before taking it.

"Take good care of them," he said.

"I would do nothing less," Legolas replied.

"It really did just happen," Jessica whispered as Boromir pulled her away from Legolas and into a tight hug.

"I am happy that you found happiness. You of all people deserve this," Boromir whispered in her ear as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Let us celebrate," Aragorn announced as Jessica's face suddenly grew pale.

"You guys go ahead," she whispered as she broke from the group to make for her room. Aragorn and Legolas glanced at one another before Legolas went after her.

Victory was near, but the power of the Ring could not be undone.

It was in this moment,

when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the King,

took up his father's sword.

"So what's going on? I know you know," Kristy said over her shoulder to Elrohir as they made their way to the Great Hall.

"I honestly do not know what you are referring to," Elrohir lied as he focused on the food set on the table for them. Aragorn and Arwen took their seats before everyone followed in suit.

"Kristy! Did you feel that?" Indi asked quickly as the ground shook once more.

"No...what are you talking about?" Kristy asked watching Indi cling to the table in fear as she looked around quickly.

"The ground is shaking!" Indi yelled as she dove under the table earning many weird looks before everyone chose to ignore the weird behavior.

"Excuse me," Kristy whispered as she slid under the table to glare at Indi.

"What are you going through?" she asked dangerously low.

"I'm being serious! The ground is fucking shaking!" Indi yelled.

Then the two saw only darkness.

Sauron, enemy of the free peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated.

The Ring passed to Isildur, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever,

but hearts of men are easily corrupted.

And the ring of power has a will of its own.

It betrayed Isildur, to his death.

Jessica stumbled down the hall clutching her stomach as she heaved the contents of her stomach upon the ground. Clinging to the wall she tried to breathe through her nose and force herself to keep moving.

"Jessica?" Legolas called as he rushed after her just in time to see the blood spew from her mouth and onto the floor.

"Something...is wrong..." Jessica gasped as she threw up more blood as the elf picked her up bridal style.

"We must get you to the healers," Legolas whispered as her rushed back down the hallway toward Aragorn.

"Sauron is gone...why-" Jessica stopped as she forced herself to lift away from Legolas as more blood passed through her lips.

And somethings that should not have been forgotten were lost

History became legend, legend became myth

"That's all I remember and then waking up to dumb and dumber screaming at me," Jessica whispered she looked at the girls before her.

"Why?" Kristy cried.

"We were not meant to be there," Jessica said as the two turned glaring at her, rising to their feet.

"No! You weren't meant to be there! We were! Middle Earth accepted us! You took us away from our homes!" the girls shouted in fury.

"Your home is right here!" Jessica shouted as she rose to her feet following the girls as they rushed to the room, slamming the door in her face. Glaring at the door she turned to leave their home only to find her car keys were missing. Moving to the front door, she just had to get out, swinging the door open she came face to face with their lawyer.

"Good morning," he said brightly. Every few months he would drop by to see how the girls were doing, but since they were both of age now this would be the last time he would see the three.

"Good morning?" Jessica greeted as he handed her an envelope. Jessica gave him a questioning look.

"We finally found your missing Jeep. Someone crashed it over a cliff on the other side of the island. Your insurance company had been trying to contact you and since I was on my way anyways," he said as her cell phone suddenly buzzed to life.

"Oh...I've been a little occupied," Jessica mumbled as Kristy and Indi stormed out of their room and glared at her.

"You are such a fucking bitch!" Kristy shouted.

"I hate you!" Indi yelled as they marched into the kitchen. Jessica closing her eyes in frustration as the lawyer chuckled.

"You wanted them," he reminded.

"Can I change my mind?" Jessica joked.

"Well have a good day. Oh by the way congratulations," he said.

"Excuse me?" Jessica asked.

"On your engagement. Send me an invitation," the lawyer said as Jessica glanced at her ring finger to find the silver band still in place.

"Oh...thank you," she whispered closing the door. Turning to find both girls still looking very elf and hobbit like.

"You owe me a car," Jessica said immediately pointing a finger at Indi who in turned looked at her wide eyed. She opened her mouth to yell at Indi when her body pulsed suddenly causing Jessica to double over in pain.

"Jessica?" Indi asked.

"Are you ok?" Kristy whispered as Jessica straightened herself up to look at them as if nothing happened, forcing a smile on her face she moved toward the couch.

"Yea, bad cramps," she lied as she held her stomach as she went down on the couch.

Something is wrong...

Jessica thought as she looked down at her very well toned stomach from the exercise her body was forced through in Middle Earth, her brow furrowing in worry.

And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge.

Until when chance came, it ensnared a new bearer.
