Welcome back everyone. Enjoy and review.
What a Horrible Day
Basil sat on his bed. If Holger wasn't his friend Basil would have knocked him down.
The horror!
All that blue stuff! Brandy yelling at Cam, Cam yelling at Basil, Basil yelling at Holger… It had been a vicious circle… Not too different from Christmas with Basil's grandma.
Aside from what a horrible day it had been, it had been nice. Basil had gotten to talk Cam, Tina, a bit with Brandy. They were his friends. It was good to talk to them. Basil hadn't talked to them since… It was better that he talked to them whenever he got the chance.
Basil had not allowed the robo-baby in his house. He had sent it home with Cherie! And besides, Basil's cat Hamlet didn't like it either. The moment he saw it in Cherie's arms Hamlet arched his back, raised his fur, turned sideways and hissed.
If Hamlet didn't like the robo-baby then something must have been up. Cherie just thought Hamlet was upset at being left alone all day. Hamlet was a cat, a loving cat but still a cat. He loved solitude as much as he did attention!
Basil took an eye patch out of his nightstand and placed it over his left eye. Looking into a mirror, Basil saw nothing dashing about wearing it. A boy whose face had burn scars causing it to look like a skull and only the left eyebrow remaining. His hair had been turned white from fear. And now with the eye patch… There was nothing dashing about Basil like this. He looked like a cartoon villain! His lips were the final straw! Basil couldn't even feel a kiss!
Removing the eye patch Basil thought back to when Lee and Tina, his best friends at A. Nigma… No, his best friends period, had seen his true face. They had thought it unnerving. He had seen their faces, staring at him as soon as Barrage had left him out of solitary detention. They were still his friends and Basil was still himself.
Closing his left eye, Basil sighed. There wasn't even a difference.
Then Hamlet walked in. Looking up at Basil, he meowed.
"What?" Hamlet jumped up onto Basil's lap. Basil gave a smile and patted his cat. "Yes, I love you too." Hamlet purred. "You have a place in my heat, Hamlet, like others. My friends, my family, the girl I love… Just wish the day could have been better."
