Chapter 20- The Arsenal

As both Tambry and Godfrey went to get in the luxury car a loud bang tore through the air and the windshield shattered causing Tambry to scream and duck in terror. Godfrey was frozen with fear as he saw who had shot out the windshield, there standing just outside on the driveway was Fiddleford McGucket with a shotgun in hand and rage in his eyes "Godfrey!" Fiddleford seethed.

"Sir." Godfrey replied instinctively, his voice coated with fear.

"Return the girl upstairs, immediately!" Fiddleford ordered, his gun still aimed at his butler.

"I'm sorry sir but I can't do that." Godfrey responded shaking slightly.

"Godfrey let's go back upstairs." Tambry said to her ally, still cowering at the side of Bentley.

"You stay right where you are miss, we'll be leaving soon enough." Godfrey said in defiance still sounding scared.

"You are not leaving this place." Fiddleford reiterated.

"Sir this has to stop!" Godfrey shouted.

"I made a deal, she's part of it." Fiddleford tried to justify.

"She's a human being! A child for god's sake." Godfrey argued.

"Bill needs her Godfrey, she's all he wants!" Fiddleford shot back starting to sound uneasy.

"What about that young lad two years back? You had Baker kidnap him and take him to god knows where, all on that Bill's order." Godfrey accused his voice morphing from fear to anger.

"H-how do you know about that!?" Fiddleford stammered sounding mortified that his butler knew this information.

"I know a lot sir. I know that Bill's has ordered the deaths of those children in town, the Pines twins and the Corduroy girl." Godfrey stated.

"Wendy?" Tambry whispered to herself, scared for her friend's safety.

"This deal will fix everything!" Fiddleford shouted.

"And murdering children is the cost!?" Godfrey bellowed, as the two older men argued Tambry pulled the smartphone she's stolen from Baker minutes before and opened up the text menu. Tambry entered the only phone number she knew off by heart, Thompson's, and started to type the message 'IT'S TAMBRY, FIND WENDY N TWINS THEY ARE NOT SAFE I'M AT MC-'

"Hey!" Fiddleford yelled spotting Tambry on the phone aiming the shotgun at the terrified teen "Throw me that phone!"

"Ok don't shoot!" Tambry pleaded, sneakily pressing the 'send' button before tossing the phone at the billionaire's feet.

Fiddleford held the gun in one hand as he quickly scooped up the phone with the other hand and saw the 'message sent' icon displayed on the phone's screen and his eyes filled with rage again "Who did you contact?" Fiddleford asked aiming the shotgun at Tambry once more.

"Mickey Goddamn Mouse!" Tambry spat.

"Tell me!" Fiddleford ordered.

"Sir!" Godfrey shouted trying to take the aim off Tambry.

"Godfrey I gave you an order! Take the girl back to her room!" Fiddleford shouted returning the shotgun to face Godfrey.

"No." Godfrey replied taking a step towards his boss and friend.

"HA! You think you're in a position to say no Welshman? You don't even rank as a pawn on my chessboard." A voice from above laughed. Tambry and Godfrey looked up to see Bill Cipher staring down at them, the dream demon was giggling to himself as he floated down next to McGucket.

"Go back to hell demon!" Godfrey shouted.

"Godfrey bring the girl back to her room." Fiddleford repeated.

"What's happened to you sir? Ever since he showed up you're not the man you used to be, you've changed." Godfrey stressed.

"Wrong! He's always had this in him. McGucket's a winner and won't let anyone get in the way of his ambitions." Bill cackled.

"Sir don't listen to him, you're a good man. You are still the man who wanted to change the world, to progress humanity with your technology, do you want that to be your legacy? Or go down as a child killer?" Godfrey posed the difficult question.

"I-I…" Fiddleford struggled.

"End the deal sir! Let Tambry go home! She's an innocent girl. Remember who you are!" Godfrey encouraged.

"Don't listen to him McGucket! I saved your life, made you the richest man in the country and once we have the sang collier you will have your company back." Bill tried to persuade.

"I want to go home Mr. McGucket, please!" Tambry pleaded.

"Quiet!" Bill snarled at Tambry

"All I ever wanted to do was to help people," Fiddleford said in a quiet voice but everyone heard him clearly "I was never a strong man or a courageous one, but I had smarts. I used my knowledge to help people, my robotics will revolutionise America and the world. I can't let my vision die."

"You say you want to help people?" Godfrey asked sternly whilst taking another step towards the gunman "But what about helping this young woman? She is terrified and wants to go back to her loved ones, you can do that, you can help her."

"You want to make the world better? Well you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs, you have to honour our deal McGucket! You know the consequences!" Bill warned.

Godfrey noticed Fiddleford's shoulders slump and his aim was no longer on himself or Tambry, he was three feet from his boss, Godfrey knew he could disarm Fiddleford he was twice his size and ten years younger, he decided to gamble. Godfrey rushed his employer and tried to force the shotgun from his shaking hands, Fiddleford surprised by the attack panicked and gripped onto the weapon as tight as he could BANG! Fiddleford unwittingly pulled the trigger causing Godfrey's skull to explode in a mess of bone and flesh sending blood splattering over Fiddleford's suit and Tambry's face causing her to scream in hysterics "GODFREY!"

"No…" Fiddleford uttered as he saw his friend fall backwards onto the concrete floor, no part of his face was recognisable only of mess of crimson pulp.

"Why?!" Tambry screamed whilst she cowered in fear "He was your friend!"

"The gun it just…" Fiddleford tried to explain but couldn't finish the sentence.

"He was a traitor," Bill said floating over to Tambry "McGucket dealt with him correctly. You're lucky I need you alive girl or you would share his fate."

"Why do you need me!? I'm a normal person, tell me what makes me so damn important!" Tambry demanded, a maelstrom of emotions running through head.

"And ruin the surprise? Where's the fun in that?" Bill teased.

The sun rose just before six am the next morning, Wendy and Dipper had fallen asleep on the wooden raft in the middle of the swimming hole. Dipper couldn't believe his eyes when he awoke to see girlfriend snoozing on his chest, the both of them still naked. Dipper gently woke up Wendy and the pair of them pulled the rope tied to shore to get back to dry land. Once they were on solid earth the pair gathered their clothes, the only problem was Wendy was having a little trouble. She had found every other article of clothing apart from her white vest and trademark green flannel shirt, until Dipper spotted a racoon scurrying away with the vest and the green flannel shirt torn apart and being implemented into a bird's nest above them in the trees. "Screw it." Wendy grumbled standing in the forest in her odd attire of just jeans, boots and her bra "I'll borrow some of Marie's tops when we get back to the cabin."

"I don't mind this look." Dipper joked.

"You would, perv." Wendy smirked as she started to walk back to the cabin.

"Says the girl who squeals in delight when she gets a hickie." Dipper smirked back.

"Watch it, you may be my boyfriend but I can still kick your butt." Wendy mock threatened.

"You think the others will be awake yet?" Dipper asked.

"I doubt it, it's barely six am." Wendy replied.

"Lucky for us, it would be hard to explain this." Dipper said pointing to Wendy's bra.

"Listen we'll just get in there go to ours rooms and act like normal, they'll never know." Wendy proposed as they came to cabin.

"It will be our little secret." Dipper smiled taking hold of Wendy's hand "Last night was special, I never want to forget it."

"Ditto." Wendy cooed, leaning down and kissing her love. She fished out her keys from her jeans pocket and opened the door expecting to see an empty living room instead she saw a scene of chaos.

"Bill must have come in the night and kidnapped them!" Mabel shrilled holding Wendy's hat fearing the worst had happened.

"We have to contact Tyrone, Wolfe and Pacifica! T-They may be in danger." Marie panicked, struggling for breath.

"Ugh! The protection charm Bernie put on the house must have been compromised somehow, when I find that triangular idiot I'm going to tear him apart." Mike shouted, the sonic rifle in his hands ready for action.

Wendy and Dipper looked at each other with awkward looks before Dipper piped up "Hi." The three panicking LPC members turned to see the bashful and beet red couple standing in the doorway, each of the members reacted in a different manner.

Mike spotted Wendy in her bra and turned around quickly avoiding the image muttering "Well that was unexpected."

"Oh thank god!" Marie exclaimed grabbing the inhaler from her pocket and breathed in a dose.

"Dipping sauce!" Mabel cried rushing over to her twin and wrapping him in a hug.

"We're ok Mabel." Dipper assured hugging his sister back.

"We were so worried," Mabel said with great speed "Mike woke up to go pee noticed you weren't in the room, he checked all the rooms in the house and didn't find you guys and we though Bill had got in and took you two away, and why is Wendy not wearing a shirt?"

"Uhh…." Dipper stalled, scratching the back of his head.

"Where have you guys been?" Marie asked sounding like a ticked off parent.

"Ummm…" Wendy struggled.

"Love bite!" Mabel announced pointing at Wendy's shoulder "I spot a fresh love bite!"

"Mabel!" Dipper said forcefully trying to calm her down.

"You were out all night?" Mike asked, still turned away facing the living room instead of the scantily clad redhead.

"Yes, me and Dipper needed to relax." Wendy answered abashed and frustrated.

"Oh my gosh," Marie gasped "you guys used protection right?"

"What!?" Dipper squeaked, sweating with nerves.

"You guys did it!?" Mike asked in a shocked tone.

"Did what?" Mabel asked naively.

"You know? 'It.'" Mike clarified.

Mabel's brown eyes lit up as she turned back to Dipper and Wendy and asked hopefully "Am I going to be an auntie?"

"What!?" Wendy shouted not sure how much more embarrassment she could endure.

"I can just picture my little niece or nephew now, Wendy's gorgeous ginger hair and green eyes, Dipper's round face and noodle arms. Ooh maybe it'll be twins, they run in the family." Mabel dreamed.

"Mabel me and Wendy didn't do anything like that!" Dipper nearly shouted.

"Yeah I'm still a virgin! We just went skinny dipping and made out, that's it!" Wendy backed up, suddenly realising the embarrassing thing she just said she mumbled sheepishly to Marie "Can I borrow some clothes?"

"Sure." Marie answered, feeling embarrassed for her double.

"Thanks." Wendy responded before running to Marie's bedroom.

"Mike you can turn around now." Marie said to young gentleman.

Mike turned back around to see the bag of nerves that was Dipper and smirked "Skinny dipping huh?"

"Shut up." Dipper grumbled.

Mabel stepped over to Mike and linked onto his arm "Crisis averted." She smiled.

"You should have left us a note." Marie complained crossing her arms in annoyance.

"Sorry." Dipper said honestly.

"Well now that we're up early we can discuss today's plan." Mike said.

"What are we going to do today?" Mabel asked, genuinely not having an idea in her head.

"We need to start our search for the Sang Collier." Mike answered "But if we're going up against Bill we'll need some aces up our sleeves, I think it's time I showed you guys the arsenal."

It was a little after 9am when all eight members of the Library Preservation Club entered the clubroom in the town library attic and all eyes were on Mike, this was the first time he been in the room in over two years. "It hasn't changed a bit." Mike smiled going up to the wall of photographs to get reacquainted with some familiar faces.

"We found it like this, Mom left us clues for us to find you." Marie explained.

Mike's shoulders slumped and smile faded away as he muttered "Bernie."

"She was really worried about you Mike." Wendy said, now wearing a green camo tank top that she borrowed from Marie.

"I know you say she died but I need to know how." Mike requested sounding awkward.

Marie sighed a little before revealing "It was breast cancer."

"Oh Bernie." Mike responded sounding glum "Was it quick?"

Wendy shook her head and replied "No, she been battling it for over a year before it got her. The mastectomy, the chemo none of it worked. She kept it hidden from me and my brothers, it was only a couple of weeks before she died that we found out."

Everyone else was silent, it was the first time Marie and Wendy had spoken openly about their mother's passing the silence was broken by Mike who said "Your Mom was a great person, she helped me through a lot of stuff, when everyone else thought I was crazy Bernie listened to me, help me understand what I was dreaming, if it wasn't for her I'd probably be in the Alexandria hospital."

"Thanks." Marie said putting a hand on Mike's shoulder.

"Mike," Dipper spoke up "how did you start getting your memories? I mean the rest of us had to touch specific objects from the trunk, you started getting visions before you joined the LPC."

"Well it all started when I touched a book, it was 'Athena and other gods of wisdom'." Mike answered.

"The book we use to enter the clubroom?" Wolfe queried.

"That's it. I was always reading, but as soon as I touched that book I got a memory of being Marvin Willow attending a meeting of the LPC." Mike revealed.

"Why didn't the rest of us get the memory then? We all touched the same book and the photograph inside." Tyrone wondered.

"Bernie told me that I was 'Sensitive' to any object that held a memory," Mike explained "that's why I got so many of them. The book was only the beginning, on pioneer day I touched an old carriage and remembered fixing it's wheel with Daniel Pinetree and Jose Ramos. Stuff like that happened to me all the time, I honestly thought I was going crazy until Bernie introduced me to the LPC."

"Did you go on crazy adventures like me and Dipper when you joined the club?" Mabel asked smiling.

"All the time, labyrinths, vampires, zombies, merfolk, we solved a bunch of crazy mysteries together." Mike recalled.

"I wish I could've been a part of the club when Mom was still alive." Marie said picturing her mother fighting a vampire.

"Bernie wanted to keep you safe, she wanted you to have a normal childhood as long as possible." Mike said kindly.

"And yet we ended up becoming wrapped up in this town's weirdness anyway." Wendy grinned.

"Well this town will get a whole lot weirder if Bill gets his hands on the Sang Collier." Dipper said getting everyone's attention back to the matter at hand.

"Dipper's right we can't let Bill get near it." Tyrone backed up.

"But we barely survived our last encounter with him, we've no way to fight him." Pacifica reminded.

"I think Mike can help us out with that problem." Dipper said confidently.

Mike didn't answer with words, he walked over to the wall of photographs lifted and turned a framed picture of Dexter and Wanda Pinefall, a loud click could be heard before the wall of photos opened revealing a secret compartment. "Whoa." Wolfe sounded as she gazed upon the secret stash.

"I know right?" Mike smiled at the awestruck member of the LPC "Here's the tools of the trade." There was a dozens of weapons on the wall, sonic guns, swords, grenades, daggers, axes, nets, vials of strange liquids, a bazooka, some sort of killer frisbee, a spear, staffs to name but a few.

"Awesome." Wendy uttered.

"Well I best hand out some weapons, for Wendy," Mike smiled grabbing a silver woodsman axe with runes and symbols etched on the blade and neck of the weapon, the handle was wrapped with green leather straps "this is Winny Pinetree's axe."

Wendy took the axe from Mike, surprised by the light weight of the weapon "I read about this thing."

"Those are celtic protection runes and charms on it, it's imbued with magic, that sucker can slice through ghosts." Mike explained.

Wendy twirled the axe in hands and made a few attacks at the air before grinning "This feels amazing."

"Now for Marie." Mike said going back to the arsenal and lifting a pair of hatchets with a black crystal like blades and handed them to pixie cut redhead.

"These were mine?" Marie asked sounding unsure as she gripped the pair of deadly weapons in her hand.

"Actually they were Wanda Pinefall's, in 1938 a weird circus rolled into town kidnapping kids when the LPC raided the place Wanda found these bad boys in a chest." Mike explained showing off his knowledge of LPC history.

"What are blades made of?" Marie asked getting used to feel of the hatchets in her hands.

"No idea, apparently they ran all sorts of tests on them but could never figure out what they were made of. All we know is that blades can cut through anything, stone, metal, diamond, you name it." Mike told.

"Ooh ooh me next!" Mabel squealed waving her hand in the air.

"Ok Mabel let me see, ah-ha!" Mike said quickly picking up what looked like a small twig and handed it over to a bemused looking Mabel.

"A stick? Come on! Wendy and Marie got cool axe thingeys and I get a stick." Mabel complained.

"That isn't any normal stick," Mike grinned "it's a magic stick."

"Yeah right." Mabel smirked rolling her eyes.

"Ok, point the wand and say 'Water'." Mike instructed.

Mabel shrugged, pointed the wand at Dipper and said "Water." Suddenly a jet of water burst from the stick soaking Dipper and knocking him to his feet causing everyone to erupt into laughter, apart from Dipper of course. "Wow! It's a magic wand!" Mabel cheered.

"Close," Mike said still chuckling at the soaked Dipper "it's the wand of the elements. With it you can summon the four elements to use against your enemies."

"A little warning next time." Dipper moaned taking off his trucker cap and ringing the water out.

"I'm going to have fun with this." Mabel grinned staring starry eyed at the magical weapon.

"Ok Mike what have you got for me?" Wolfe asked the quartermaster.

"Hmm for you, I think these might be ticket." Mike mused as he lifted off a set of pair of knuckle dusters and handed them over.

"Brass knuckles?" Wolfe questioned taking the brawling weapons and slipping them onto her hands.

"These were Sid Pinefall's, he bought them off some creepy salesman back in the 1920s apparently they make your punches hit with the strength of twenty men." Mike explained.

"Really?" Wolfe smiled before going over to a wooden chair and sending a punch into it, the chair broke apart instantly causing her to shout "Sweet!"

"Now for Pacifica." Mike said looking to his 'little sis' before going back to arsenal and grabbing a simple wooden bow with no arrows.

"How's this magical?" Pacifica asked guessing it was no normal bow, taking the bow and inspecting it.

"This bow needs no arrows, just draw the bow and a bolt of lightning will fire from it." Mike instructed.

"I won't try it indoors then." Pacifica replied.

"Me next dude." Tyrone piped up, sounding impatient.

"Ok then, let's see." Mike pondered looking at the selection of weapons left before choosing a katana resting in a jet black scabbard "This was Dexter Pinefall's katana, he took it from a Japanese soldier who tried to kill him in the second world war, it's said he slit the slit the soldier's throat with it. Dexter kept it sharp to remind him of how close he came to death and always took with him when he was on LPC business."

Tyrone took the sword and unsheathed it, marvelling at it's beauty "Does it have a name?" Ty asked.

"Dexter named it Izanami after the Japanese god of death." Mike told. "Ok Dipper you're next."

"Wait Mike, I think I know what weapon I want." Dipper said going over to the weapons.

"I think I know which one you're going to pick." Mike said stepping back at letting Dipper choose.

Dipper had spotted the item as soon as the weapon stash was revealed, a wooden box with a pine tree etched onto it, just like the one on his hat. He took the box from shelf and rested it on a nearby table before lifting the lid, a smile grew on his face as he lifted out Daniel Pinetree's Colt 44 Dragoon Revolver "Hello old friend." Dipper greeted the gun.

"A gun? Is that wise?" Pacifica reasoned.

"Don't worry over the years both Jose Ramos and Javier Rodriquez developed special bullets for that gun, tranq bullets, incendiary, corrosive, even a bullet that contains a remote tracker." Mike explained.

Dipper spun the revolver in his hand like a gunslinger from the old west before saying "It feels right."

"With these weapons we have a fighting chance against Bill." Mike said taking off another sonic rifle from the selection.

"But how are we supposed to find the Sang Collier?" Marie posed the question everyone was thinking.

"Well," Mike sighed "Bernie told me the key to finding it is in this weapon locker."

"In there?" Mabel pointed at the arsenal.

"Yeah, but before I got frozen both me and Bernie tore this thing apart but we couldn't find a single clue." Mike explained sounding defeated.

"Eight heads are better than two." Dipper said fixing the wet trucker cap on his head "Let's get to work."

The moment Thompson woke up all he could feel was pain, his legs and his shoulder were in agony. He slowly opened his eyes to see he was in a private hospital room, he was wearing a hospital gown, he couldn't see his legs under the covers but he was pretty sure they were heavily bandaged. "Oh my God you're awake!" A relieved voice gasped.

Thompson looked to his left to see Nate and Robbie sitting by the Window "Hey guys." He said weakly.

"I'll go get your parents, they're talking to the doctor." Nate assured before dashing out of the room.

"I'm so glad you're awake." Robbie said teary eyes rushing to the bedside, she wearing her usual stitched heart hoodie.

"How did I get here?" Thompson asked wincing in pain.

"Nate and Lee found you, someone really did a number on you man, who was it?" Robbie asked sounding concerned.

Thompson hesitated, he knew if he said some crazy triangle had done this to him no one would believe him, he just replied "He called himself Bill."

"Bill?" Robbie queried.

"He said he was angry I was going on date with…Oh God!" Thompson gasped with realisation "Tambry! Have you seen her?"

"I've been calling her like crazy but she's not picking up." Robbie answered surprised by Thompson's outburst.

"No! He's got her, my phone, where's my phone!?" Thompson panicked.

Robbie opened the little bedside cupboard and retrieved the phone and handed it to Thompson "Who's got Tambry?" Robbie asked, puzzled and scared.

Thompson saw that he had text message from an unknown number, he quickly opened it and saw the message 'IT'S TAMBRY, FIND WENDY N TWINS THEY ARE NOT SAFE I'M AT MC-' "Oh no." Thompson whimpered.

"What's wrong?" Robbie asked.

"We need to find Wendy, Dipper and Mabel fast!" Thompson stressed with pain in his voice.
