Chapter 21
Dark Naruto's Pov
Day 3:
Today was the day after careful planning and a couple of traps here and there my training ground from hell was ready but before I went through it I needed to test who could be a better volunteer about than my makeshift pupil Amelia and now all I needed was to bring her here and find good spot for myself.
Amelia's Pov
I had just woken up at 5 am as I had been for the past 2 days with Naruto and undergoing his style of training and I had just one word to say about it. It was for the lack of a better term unorthodox and anything he did or made me do was the complete opposite of what anybody did in a normal situation for example when I had tried to choke him he had simply head butted me and proceeded to stomp on my foot ruining my training shoes and making my foot swell though by the end of the day the injury had healed I just chalked it up to the side effects of mark 2.
As my feet troughed through the snow I heard a slight rustling coming from the bushes I immediately went on guard.
"So you have come. What are we gonna do today?"
As I waited a few seconds for him to come I felt a small snarling noise coming from the bushes I immediately lowered my body finding my centre of gravity and I was ready to lash out with Stigmata weapon when a small white hairy thing fell out. I tilted my head to side to get a better look when the small thing moved for the first time in my life I was face to face with a cute little baby bear which was staring at me with its big brown eyes I dispersed my weapon and crouched low to see little teddy who had noticed me and was looking at me and then it exhaled.
'I don't know I simply felt that it was more of a disinterested snort more than anything '
"Hey, little guy why you are here?" I asked
The little bear looked at me as if I was stupid it was sitting in front of me with its little feet spread out and its back hunched low and it yawned and completely ignored me.
For a moment I was overcome with its cuteness factor but I knew that Naruto would probably be here any moment now and it would probably not look good If I was cuddling a small bear.
"Where are your parents?"
The little guy raised his head and sniffed and immediately covered its snout as if to block an unpleasant smell and then heard a small noise coming from my back which began getting louder and louder with the passing second.
I turned my head and looked back there just two large polar bears which were soundlessly creeping up on me for a moment I froze then turned back they were still there and the little bear was smirking at me.
I did what anybody would do in the same situation I ran screaming for help as the two bears gave chase.
DN's POV
I laughed as my plan was executed flawlessly she running straight to my traps I wondered how long it would take her to realise that 1. Screaming was a bad idea and 2. She being a E-pandora was stronger than normal bears. to throw stuff at bears.
Though the bears in this case were just two shadow clones henged into bears with a little dose of sage chakra running through them as they ran under my spot I quickly replaced myself with one of the two and henged myself and gave chase.
Amelia's POV
I ran as my life depended on it could see the two bears gaining on me it was at this point I used accel to sprint ahead and gain distance before I felt it a big coat of snow fell on top of me as I struggled to get through the thick knee deep snow and I could see the outline of the two bears closing in
'Was this how I am going to die buried in snow while two bears roast me over a flame adding pepper to my body'
'Wrong thought they simply bit me piece by piece'
'WAIT A SECOND '
"I AM A BLODDY E-PANDORA THERE IS NO WAY I COULD DIE HERE" I said
I stood up with steel in my eyes and taking a ready stance summoned my volt weapon. My lance came to my fingers as I tightened my grip around it. I had to win for my brother, my friends, for Dr. Ohara and everyone else I refuse to die an unremarkable death surrounded by snow.
One of them seeing me pointing my lance immediately stopped while the other ran at me mouth wide open and claws extended I prayed to every God out there as I ran ahead faced the beast head on, the animal jumped to the side and tried to claw my face I blocked it with the edge my lance even as I felt an immense amount of strength in the strike I held my ground and tried to punch it in the eye when it ducked its head with my fist sailing over its head and the next thing it head butted me in the chest pushing the air out of my lungs and leaving me gasping for breath.
I saw the beast circling me trying to find my weak spot as I tried to regain my footing the animal attacked with its teeth I tried to dodge but found myself unable to as the jaws closed around my jacket as it tore and I could feel the biting cold with the grazing of its teeth at my waist leaving slight red marks but not breaking skin I Momentarily felt lucky to have dodged but the next second I felt a claw strike my unprotected shoulder which had enough strength of lifting me off my feet and throwing me about 2 feet away.
I winced as my arm hurt the pain was bad but bearable my whole body shivered the lance held loosely in my right arm as my left arm was in palpable amount of pain but with no visible signs apart from my torn clothes to vouch for the same.
I could see the red eyes which looked at me and I could see the anger the bloodlust seeping through but my will prevailed in my act of desperation using a nearby tree as a makeshift support I placed my lance between us in a display of defiance and a last stand.
The animal peered at me I could feel the oncoming sense of foreboding as I felt the rush of a charge when suddenly I heard a loud growl which made my opponent stop and take notice as my own body froze with rigidity.
'Were there more out there? Were they coming here?'
I desperately thought as I heard another followed by another when the beast growled at me for the last time before rising on its feet giving me a good view of its massive 6-7 feet height before turning and running towards the sound. I kept my guard on for about 3 minutes after it left before I succumbed to the pain and exhaustion and fell to my knees.
DN's POV
I knew that what I did was harsh and completely unacceptable and now from the shadows of the trees as I watched her I felt bad but I repressed that feeling she was eventually going to face The Pandora followed by battling Nova there was absolutely no way she could ever go in the field if she felt fear at most inopportune moments or falling in despair at the loss of something or someone important and finally there was absolutely no way that she could beat a Pandora without the intent to kill just like Kakashi-sensei.
(Scene – break)
Chiffon Fairchild's POV
It had been 3 days since I had last seen Naruto but i couldn't devote time to look for him either as I had been going from one event to another with Elizabeth and our limiters accompanying us. It was mostly incredibly annoying when most of the time her accomplishments were overshadowed under Dr Aoi everything she had accomplished ignored by those who knew that she was a true Pandora and majority of the military treated her as nuclear deterrent they did not respect her or even treat her as a human she had most of her life been considered as a weapon a tool something that nobody wanted but didn't want to get rid of either.
Elizabeth 's social influence was barely enough for them to notice her but in every military discussion their presence was required but their opinion was never considered they stood there in silence and they were considered as important as the paperweight on the table.
It was infuriating and insulting but it was how things were done in the real world and they weren't trusted even as every time was a contingent of Chevalier Pandora present, as they for them was even considered mentally unstable but it was the unspoken rule or fact with which they operated.
She had still thinking about so she didn't notice when Elizabeth rounded up along the corner and came face to her.
"Chiffon"
"Elizabeth" Chiffon gasped
"How have been doing here?"
"Fine I guess"
"Have you noticed something strange here?"
"No" Chiffon replied though mentally her thoughts were 'how none of us has come across a single e-pandora or how the staff tries to avoid spending time with us in the same room or how we have been juggled from one event to another ? or How Dr. Ohara hasn't even once spoken to us or asked about our academy or the Pandora project?'
"I have noticed that the new guy hasn't been with for the various social events?"
"Oh Eliza you know he isn't authorised to attend those events being a new guy"
"True but I haven't seen him here as well"
"Probably because we aren't here as well"
Elizabeth would have snorted but didn't as it wasn't proper behaviour for someone of her social standing her simply tilted her head.
"Are you going to have him as your second limiter?"
"No, he is better with his independent status for the moment and I doubt Andre would appreciate you taking another limiter while he is there" Chiffon asked with a sly smile on her face.
Elizabeth simply huffed in response and walked away.
Chiffon sighed and made her way room her room as she caught sight of Naruto through a window carrying a unknown girl in his arms and as if sensing her he looked right back at her catching her face in the window.
Chiffon wordlessly gave him a sign of talk to you later and my room before walking to her room as new intriguing questions attacked her mind. The most prominent being 'who was she'.
Yami/Dark Nauto's POV (an hour ago)
Dark Naruto looked at the tired girl who had fainted due to stress and adareline and now was waking up meanwhile I had taken off my jacket and covered her with it. The moment she woke up she had become terrified and brought her knees and arms closer to defend herself as I looked at her.
"Hn" I gave a small noise to gain her attention as she whipped her head to me a look of pure fear etched on her face before she schooled her features and stared at me.
For some unfathomable reason I felt that I owed her an apology and an explanation which I proceeded to tell her.
"I was exercising in the gym and lost track of time so I couldn't make it here on time and I sincerely apologise for whatever happened due to my lack of tardiness but it is a good thing you are okay I did see the animal which attacked you and I believe luck wasn't a factor for your survival seeing your state of dress"
She nodded to me
I guess the event was too disturbing for her, and I didn't try to elicit or coax any kind of words from her mouth. I tried to assist her in standing which she accepted with a little hesitation.
"You know facing Nova is going to be similar to this"
'It was a thoughtless comment but necessary there was absolutely no way she could survive with her current skills and she needed an awakening. As I thought that I could feel an involuntary shudder run through her spine as she had been leaning on me.'
We had scarcely walked a few steps before her legs gave way and she fainted on me. 'at least it was because of a genuine reason which I could relate to and not like Hinata who fainted always because of no reason'. As he had carried her bridal style, through the snow to the facility. I got a distinct feeling that I was being watched concentrating for a second I could sense my surroundings and I felt Chiffon standing opposite a window looking at me with a frown when she noticed that I noticed her she had mouthed talk to you and my room I nodded and made my way and to prepare for my confrontation with her.
Elizabeth's POV
It had been a couple of days since our arrival and I feel a conscious effort on the part of the people running this facility to prevent us from interacting in any shape or manner for now we were being kept away with events but a couple of days later our fellow classmates and fellow Pandora with their limiters would be present and we would once again be engaged with taking care of our juniors and making sure they didn't goof up or offend anyone.
Speaking of juniors her thoughts drifted to the blonde menace named Naruto who was born with western looks but had Asian origins which wasn't even certain for sure and had managed to accompany us and now was God knows where and God know doing what. Hopefully he wouldn't cause any problems here.
Later in the evening
DN's POV
As I stood in front of Chiffon's door I recapped what I did today woke up early traumatised my makeshift student after 2hours of that carried her to my room later when she woke up took her back to the training taught her a few new moves just because she was motivated enough to push through I guess the reason that if she failed someday her brother might end up as a victim to those monsters but for present her own friends were more likely to face them sooner and so she had to be strong for herself and for everybody else.
Back to the present I felt that it would be better to let her take the initiative that way I can control the flow of information and ensure that her trust in me remains although it should be unimportant to me Yami but for Naruto it was important whether in this dimension or any other there was absolutely no way I would go against his nindo as I made opened the door after knocking twice.
"May I come in?" I asked as I entered the room which was exactly alike the room I was in just the bed covers were in a light shade of pink apart from that there wasn't any and Chiffon had already drawn a chair for me while she herself sat on her bed with a fashion magazine in her hand.
"Oh, hi you certainly took your time didn't you" Chiffon had asked without actually taking her eyes away from her magazine as she asked me.
"Yeah the day was quite hectic, so what is it?"
"Straight to the point as always, Who was she?"
"Amelia Evans one of the girls enlisted for the e-pandora project"
"So how strong is she?"
"Strong enough to lend a hand to local law enforcement but I doubt it would help against the Novas or your kin" I said offhandedly as I noticed her flinch for a second before composing herself.
"By kin you mean my fellow Pandora right?"
"Right" I answered though her response had caught me off guard did she have siblings.
"What do you know?" I knew just like last time she was trying to goad an answer out of me which she already had an answer to.
" I believe your suspicions are correct" I replied without hesitation blanking her question.
"What do you think will happen?" she asked her lips drawn in a thin line.
"We'll just have to wait and see"
"What can you tell about the girl?"
"She is loyal to the Dr but her priority is to her fellow friends or bonds which she has made here."
"Mark formula?"
"Regressive momentary boost with sizeable side effects"
"Who are your contacts here?"
"Amelia, and couple of staff and the chef"
"I guess that would be sufficient. Have you anybody in mind to become a limiter to" she asked
"None at present"
"Is there anything you want me to do?"
"Try to contact headmistress and inform her "
"You know we can't do that"
" Then I believe there is nothing that can be done"
Amelia assumes that Naruto is a rich guy and knows stuff and DN is using that to his advantage after all who checks background information.
For those who think this is a slow moving chapter this just the build up for the main event and Rattle and the other e-Pandora's future is in your hands.
The attack by the bear is as good simulation fight for battling the Nova as it is better to able creatures from this dimension before we even think of engaging with beings from other dimensions and it also give her the first combat outside controlled conditions (unknown to her) and helps to motivate her in future. The impact of this will be seen in her fight with Elizabeth guaranteed.
The Kazuya and group will arrive next week that is after Day 5 and it will continue from there.
A new project that uses normal people has been approved; Lana is jealous of how close Satellizer and Kazuya have become; Chiffon, Elizabeth, Satellizer, Rana, Kazuya, Chiffon's Limiter, and Elizabeth's Limiter are ordered to go to Alaska next week to be part of the E- Pandora Project.;
T it le No t e s: "E Pandora Project" is a project by the Chevalier to create many more Pandora from those who are not genetically compatible.
Kaz uya, Satella and Rana Linchen arrive in Alaska where they meet up with Eliz abeth and Chiffon. Shortly after, they attend a banquet along with Pandoras from other regions and they
receive a speech from Dr. Scarlett Ohara, who explains to them the reason behind the E- Pandora
Project which artificially reproduces the compatibility with the Stigmata. They also find out
the Dr. Aoi was against this project.
After Satella and Rana settle in their rooms, they meet Cassie Lockheart and her Limiter Kyoichi
Minase, who gives Satella his thanks. They also come to know about an upcoming mock battle
with a group of Pandora who came from normal people called Evolution Pandora (or EPandora).
The first battle between England Genetics' Anna Parker and E- Pandora Rattle ends with Anna as the victor.
Similarly the second battle is one by Korea's Pandora.
The third mock battle begins between E- Pandora Amelia Evans and Eliz abeth Mably. Eliz abeth is easily able to dodge any of of Amelia's attack and though the battle is able to win without much effort, but she is
confused by Amelia's determination in a mock battle.
Pandora's brass and Dr. Ohara discuss the mock battle's result and the poor performance of the E Pandoras. They decide to use a special medicine called Mark IV, which enhances the Stigmata compatibility of E- Pandoras but risks their lives. While in the cafeteria, a new mission "synchro" is announced, which
aims to raise the abilities of E-Pandoras to the level of originals
and they will be administered Mark IV as a safety measure.
