Savannah reclined in the sunlight, enjoying the warmth that it gave her. She had woken at a horrific time in the morning, causing her to be awake during the coldest hours of the day. So now, when it was half past noon, she was taking advantage of the heat. A small movement to her right caused her to give a half smile and place her hand on the petro-hound's head. Kay-9 was an indispensable being to her. Even though Savannah had only known her for a total of two weeks, there was no way the human woman would ever give up her companion.
The human woman's smile became full blown when the surface she was reclining on vibrated and a chuckle reached her ears. She had finally begun to accept the company of others, especially the company of the Autobot CO.
"What has you so amused?" Savannah asked as she sat up and turned towards the general direction of Optimus' windshield.
"You are enjoying yourself." Came the rumbled reply. "I apologize if I disturbed you."
"It would take a lot to disturb me." Savannah grinned and turned back to recline on Optimus' hood again.
Before she could get fully laid down, Savannah felt the electrical pulses that signified the formation of his holoform. She laughed outright when her back came into contact with the chest of the Autobot commander's holoform.
"And what has you so amused, my crystal?" Optimus teased into her hair as his arms wrapped around her.
"The fact that you couldn't resist temptation." Savannah smiled slyly and relaxed into his arms.
Optimus chuckled and rested his chin on the top of her head. They both fell into a comfortable silence, and Savannah started to drift off. The only times she could actually sleep were when she was either in Optimus' cab or wrapped in his arms like she was now. They sat like that for almost an hour before…
"Savannah!"
The blind woman jerked awake and would have completely fallen off of Optimus' hood had the arms of his holoform not been around her. She took a moment to compose herself before she glowered in her sister's direction.
"What do you want Katrina?" She growled in the general direction of the person who had woke her up.
"Letter from mom and dad." Katrina stated blandly. "They are slightly mad and insisting on your presence at the house at some point in the near future."
Savannah froze, she had completely forgotten about her parents. A look that could almost be described as terror washed over her face and she let out a groan.
"Just tell them I died in an attack and my remains weren't found." She muttered after hiding her face in her hands.
"Can't, Prowl already told them that you and I would visit a week from now." Katrina replied in an extremely bland voice.
"I'm going to kill him." Savannah sat up so suddenly that Kay-9 vacated the hood and Optimus even looked alarmed. "Honestly, who does he think he is telling our parents that we are going to show up? Does he even realize what is going to happen when they see me?! They'll never let me out of their sight again! By god I'm going to kill the slagging idiot!"
"Savannah…" Optimus shot Katrina a questioning look. "Calm down, you do not need to kill my second in command."
The fact that Optimus stated that she didn't need to kill Prowl coupled with his tone told the Price sisters that he had no doubts that she could.
"But he told my parents that we were going to come visit." Savannah grouched. "And the moment that they see me like this they are going to lock me away in a tower and never let me out again."
"I will not allow them to do that to you, Savannah." Kay-9 suddenly stated very seriously, causing Savannah to sigh and shake her head. Though a smile was starting to worm its way onto her face.
"It's a figure of speech Kay." Savannah chuckled. "They won't actually lock me in a tower. But they will try to make me stay home."
"Oh… I apologize." Kay-9 stated sheepishly.
"It's alright, there is still a lot that you need to learn." Savannah smiled warmly at the petro-hound.
"Back to the crisis at hand." Katrina cleared her throat. "We are leaving tomorrow at noon with a large entourage for protection."
"Oh god, who all is coming?"
"Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Prowl, Jazz, Optimus, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Hound, Mirage, and Ironhide is going to meet us on the way." Katrina sighed.
"That's… no. Ten mechs showing up at our parents' house. With how protective they are of both of us?" Savannah was on the verge of panic. "All it would take is mom going off on me once and we'll have to explain why there is suddenly a smoking crater where their house used to be."
"Oh, I tried to explain that." Katrina suddenly grinned. "And… this is mandatory too."
"What is mandatory?" Savannah managed to get out, before she felt a band being snapped onto her wrist.
"That tracer." Savannah heard the smug triumph in her sister's voice and she growled.
"Fine, fine! But Kay-9 is coming too." The elder of the Price sisters stated in exasperation.
"That was planned as well." Katrina's voice was getting quieter. "So yeah, tomorrow at noon we're leaving. Better be packed."
Savannah stayed facing towards the area where her sister had vanished in, before she groaned and slumped against Optimus. This was the last thing she wanted to do.
"It cannot be that bad, Savannah." Optimus sighed.
And then froze when Savannah rounded on him with every reason why she did not want to even talk to her parents for a few years to come.
~.~ ~.~
I'm going to leave this there, next chapter you get to see the reasons why Savannah does not want to go within 100 miles of her parent's.
I'll try to update soon, I promise! XD
