Hey guys, so I left you with a new character and Arno and Belinda almost kissed. I got a few surprises in this chapter. Good ones I swear! Plus this is a happy chapter so no sad ending and maybe another cliff hanger….
Chapter 20
Ariadne's Pov
I lay down beside Peggy; she had gotten big really quick. Arno said it was because someone named Tha-Thanos was making me, Ash, As, Bae and Pegs grow up faster. My dad had told me this about a year ago but I didn't believe him because my brain was always faster than the kids my age. Belinda told me I was technically 10 now but I remember my birthday I had just turned 6 it was very confusing but then again my life is like a jig saw puzzle.
See you probably already know that my parents are dead. I miss them a lot, I miss my mom's hug and her smell, and I miss my daddy's kisses and the way he could always make me smile. Most kids my age would cry and scream it's not fair; but not me. Yes I cried for about a month but then I started to realize I could do something really cool. I could freeze time and wonder back to when my parents were alive. I hadn't told Arno and Belinda yet because I wanted to keep it to myself for a little.
I told Bae and Asher and they promised to keep their mouth shut. I even had really weird dreams about my mom but for some reason tonight it seemed real, I felt her fingers brush back my hair and gave me a kiss on the forehead. She told me it would be a while until I saw her and daddy again but to stay strong for them.
I got up because I was scared and the only one could calm me down was Arno, I ducked under a willow tree and stepped over a tree root. I heard whispers and I knew Belinda and Arno were still up. Don't tell them I said this but Bae and Asher say that their boyfriend and girlfriend, Asgeir thinks it's gross, I think it's funny cause my dad called them to love birds going in a circle all the time. I can tell they like each other, they give each other the look my mom called it.
I peeked out of the bush to see Belinda and Arno's heads really close together I scrunched my face in disgust what were they doing? Did they not care about personal space?
"Arno?" I whispered he turned and looked at me; he quickly got up and took my hand leading me to the meadow.
"What's the matter Ary?" He asked his eyebrows fury together in confusion
"I have been keeping a secret." I mumbled his gaze softens and he knelt in front of me. Arno knew me best out of anyone beside my parent's he was like the big brother I never had, he knew I usually don't keep secrets and that it had to be something big for me to keep it.
"And what's that secret?" He asked I looked at my feet twiddling with my fingers I felt his pointer finger lift my chin so I could look at his eyes, for some reason Arno's eyes always looked cold and forbidden but at the same time loving and welcoming "Ary…"
"I have been freezingtimesoIcanseemy parents." I blurted his eyes got wide "That's not it…my mom has been visiting me in dreams." I tried to give him my famous Stark smile but he looked at me and tilted his head I sighed and plopped down on the ground beside him. "I'm Sorry?"
"Are you?" He chuckled I looked at him and narrowed my eyes
"I just wanted this for myself just for a little bit." I shrugged I felt hot tears start to come I didn't want to get in trouble I hate being in trouble.
"You're not in trouble and I understand." He said I looked at him he smiled and gave me a slight hug "Why are you just telling me though?"
"Because…she said I couldn't see her for a while." I stated unknowingly tears started to fall off my face and Arno wrapped me in his arms I felt safe and I snuggled closer. I felt him kiss the top of my head "Arno I want my parents."
"I know sweetie." He sighed "I want mine too."
"I just want to go back in time and change this." I said then my brain went into overload I actually could go back in time if I tried hard enough and as if Arno read my mind (which he probably did) tensed and looked at me.
"Don't you dare try to change time." He sternly said
"But- "No buts, Ariadne your powers are very powerful and you could get seriously hurt." He snapped I huffed and pouted while folding my arms I am thinking as going as far as a tantrum, but I knew that would be pushing it.
"No fair." I grumbled while glaring at him
"Ah! Don't give me that look missy." He reprimanded I rolled my eyes and got up walking back to my bed. "Ariadne get back here young lady."
"Why? You're not going to let me change time." I snapped
"Because, your parents made a choice and that was to save you. You need to honor them by using that brilliant brain of yours and fight back." Arno said
"Fight what Arno? I am just a kid!" I yelled he sighed and looked at me
"I know…I'm sorry." His eyes went all sad and I started to feel a little bad (hey that rhymed!) he lost his mommy and daddy too, but his an adult he is suppose to make me feel better not that other way around.
"Sometimes adults need a little cheering up too Ary." I remember my mom telling me when Uncle Bruce hulked out and he scared me. So I went to him giving a hug and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I looked up at Arno, he picked me and I rested my head in his neck.
"I don't promise that it'll get easier…it will get harder the older you get." Arno whispered I nodded and looked up at the sky "Tomorrow I want you to wake everyone up and we will start training." He smiled I looked at him and smiled
"I can use my fire power?" I smiled wider my mom didn't really like me using it she said it was dangerous but I thought it was fun.
"You can use your fire power." He laughed I didn't realize I was in the bed till I felt Peggy snuggle closer to me. I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around her so I could get more covers.
"I wuv Ary." Peggy mumbled in my chest
"I love you too Pegs." I mumbled as I felt myself slip into sleep.
2 months later
Ella's Pov
"Calvin get Alythia please?" I asked he nodded and left for our bedroom I had made a few bottle for my baby girl and I sat down on the caves floor. Yes I live in a cave now, but I'm hiding from three of the most powerful men in all the realms.
"Here you go babe." He smiled handing me our daughter; I looked at her and smiled. See I got pregnant a little after Lux had Peggy but I didn't want to tell anyone because Thanos, Laufey, and my grandfather were getting ready to kill us all. So I thought the less I said the more safe she would be. I told Lux of course and she cast spell so that only Calvin, Steve, her, and I could see my little bump. I had Alythia about 3 months before the attack it got harder to hide her and my mom got suspicious but Lux took care of that…sorry mom.
I gave Alythia her bottle and I brushed her blonde locks behind her ear, she had my hair and Calvin's icy blue eyes. I wish she could have met my parents and everyone else but I was scared that she would have to live without me like the other kids are. I felt a pain hit my chest I hadn't thought about my cousins and siblings since the attack were they still alive? Were they okay or were they being tortured.
"Calvin." I murmured I felt him tense beside me
"What's the matter? Is it the baby, Oh god she has my powers doesn't she?" Calvin started to ramble on and on and I hit his head
"No, she's fine." I sighed
"Ooh, then what is it?" He asked changing back into himself again
"The kids… do you think their ok?" I asked looking at him. He smiled and gave me a small kiss
"They're with Bel and Ar, They'll be fine." He stated
"How do you know? Something could have happened to them." I pushed
"Ells calm down; Belinda and Arno are adults now." He said
"They are 19 going on 20 barely adults in my eyes." I countered he laughed
"Says the girl who got engaged at 19 and married by 21." He laughed I smacked his head again "Woman if you don't stop smacking me." I giggled at his face and put Alythia back in her crib
"I still see them as like the mischievous 11 year olds they were." I sighed he nodded
"You got to let them grow up." He said
"But I don't want them too because they will realize that world is not what people say it is." I laughed bitterly
"I think they knew that since birth." Calvin said I was shocked at how serious he was right now he was probably right Arno had seen Lux try to kill him as soon as he was born if that isn't straight forward then I don't know what is then.
"Do you think their finally a couple?" I smirked
"Probably." He smiled I felt the cave shake and I knew it was time to go. I picked up Alythia and grabbed everything we needed and that Calvin couldn't get. We ran outside to see Thanos in the sky looking for us and my younger family we ran and I whispered a prayer to Hemdial and he flashed us to Aflheim. I felt something familiar about this place but I brushed it off running beside Calvin with my daughter sleeping soundly in my arms.
Belinda's Pov
I watched as Arno trained the boys. Ariadne and Peggy were playing something off to the side. I smiled to myself everything was coming together we were like a family again. I had made dinner early so that when the boys finished training they could chow down as Bae says. I heard Arno say they were finished and I got the girls ready.
I felt Arno put his hand on the small of my back to signal he was behind me but it sent fireworks into my stomach. My breath hitched and I looked down.
"Thanks for dinner Bel." Asher smiled
"You're welcome Ash." I smiled I glanced over to my left to see Arno looking at me I quickly looked down at my bowl and bit my lip. Ever since our almost kiss things had gotten awkward I was avoiding him and he was avoiding me. I heard him clear his throat and he got up off the ground he walked over to the edge of the cliff and looked down. Peggy smiled because she knew what was next; Arno jumped off the cliff but reappeared right where he left. Peggy started to laugh and clap her hands; I smiled and shook my head. Ariadne and Bae cleaned up all the dishes while Asher and Asgeir played with Peggy. I felt someone close to me and I knew immediately who it was.
"Meet me in the meadow after the kids are sleep." He whispered in my ear a shiver went up my spine, I bit my lip acting as cool as possible. How this boy got my stomach to do summersaults with the littlest things and made my heart race whenever he was around I will never understand.
I was sitting in the meadow waiting for Arno to show up. I had paced, lay on the grass, heck I even did a few back flips. I got up and brushed my legs figuring he probably forgot and fell asleep. I heard rustling in the bushes and I brought out my dagger.
"Woah! If this is how you great all your dates I understand why men are scared of you." He smirked I sighed and put my dagger and glared at him.
"You're late." I grumbled
"I know I'm sorry, I had to find these." He handed me a few flowers the ones I had said were pretty every time we passed them. I bit my lip trying to hold a smile and looked at him raising an eyebrow "Oh c'mon Bel give me one itsy bitsy smile." He said poking my side I tried to wriggle out of his grip.
"Ah...Arno….Stop…it tickles!" I laughed as he started to tickle me; he stopped tickling me and smiled
"There it is." He sighed I felt heat rise in my cheeks and I turned to look away.
"Arno what are we?" I asked he raised an eyebrow "I mean we almost kissed almost 3 months ago…" He still didn't answer I could not muster anymore control "I like you!" he smiled "I mean like really like you…have for a long time and I have been torturing myself trying to stay away from you. I mean you're are perfect for me everything I have ever wanted and I really want you…I mean not in that way…well ok maybe in that way but I just want you to hold me in your arms and kiss me tell me you love me and not in the cousin way you have been doing for forever-
The next thing I knew Arno's lips were on mine and I took a deep breath in, his lips were cold and just perfect everything I had dreamt of. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his hands around my waist, for someone reason I felt the urge to giggle. I poured everything I was feeling in the kiss and I felt him do the same thing. It felt like fireworks were in my chest. I felt it get darker and colder I slightly opened my eyes to see the clouds forming over us as snow fell, I smirked into the kiss again our powers were mixing together as we kissed. I suddenly remembered I needed air and I abruptly stopped the kiss gasping for air. I leaned my forehead on Arno's and smiled
"I never meant I love you in a cousin manner." He confessed I felt my heart skip a beat "I have been crazy for you since we were 11, why do you think I always protected you?" He smiled "I did everything I could for you… and I mean everything." He told me his hair dangled over his beautiful blue eyes and I kissed him again.
"It's about time Ice boy." I smiled
"Well, you were always taken thunderstruck." He laughed I felt his fingers brush my lips he looked at me with those eyes they seemed to get stormier and I shivered "I love you Bel." He whispered, and I started to cry why the hell did I start to cry?! I felt him hug me closer and I kissed his cheek. It had been so long since I felt this and it felt so right with him. It was like I was Sleeping Beauty and he was my prince charming waking me up from my eternal slumber and he was mine and mine alone, just us two underneath our snow clouds holding each other.
"I love you too Arno." I whispered as he kissed me again.
