Jace was absolutely right, it was the best weekend ever. It was like Clary and Jace stepped out of reality and entered their own world. I world with no abusive dad, no siblings constantly interrupting them, just two people madly in love with an entire house to themselves doing whatever they wanted.

Clary laughed more in those two days then she did in her entire life. They had pillow fights in their underwear, baked cookies and turning it into a food fight, played board games, and watched all different movies(bad ones, amazing ones, foreign ones, romance, comedy). They also made out, a lot. There was absolutely no rules, and Clary wanted to stay like that forever. But unfortunately, forever was ending very soon.

Now they sat, Jace in his boxers and Clary in one of his shirts, watching some random Korean film with no subtitles-they liked to make up their own dialogue. After a while Clary grew silent and closed her eyes, tracing Jace's abs with his finger.

Jace caught on to the sudden mood change and asked, "You okay?" She just smiled and nodded but Jace could tell she wasn't, "what's the matter?" She moved her head from Jace's chest and sighed, "look if you don't want to watch the movie we can just turn it off."

"It's not the movie," she said shaking her head, "I'm just having so much fun."

Jace looked at her confused, "Okay, I don't really understand why that would make you upset..."

"Jace it's Sunday night," she said. He raised his eyebrows muttering, "Okay. And?"

"And your family comes back tomorrow afternoon and then this," she gestured to the empty house, "is all over."

"Ah," he said nodding, finally understanding, "well it's not like everything is over. Sure it won't be as free and fun as this was, but it's not like we are never going to see each other again. Things will just go back to the way they used to be, which was still pretty great if you ask me."

Clary shrugged, "Yeah, I guess you're right." Jace looked at her matter-of-factly and said, "I'm always right."

Clary glared at him and grabbed the pillow behind her and quickly wacked him with it.

"HEY!" He shouted, "you did not just whack me with a pillow."

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. What are you going to do about it?" Clary didn't even have time to blink before Jace as on top of her. He was straddling her hips and holding her two hands above her head.

"Say you're sorry. Say you are sorry and that I am perfect and you love me." Clary squirmed but couldn't break free and suddenly Jace was tickling her stomach. She screamed and laughed uncontrollably, finally after a minute Jace stopped and Clary was able to roll them over so they landed on the floor, switching positions.

"Yeah that's right! You're not the only strong one in this relationship!" Clary said smiling. She leaned down and rested her forehead on his, "And for the record, you're perfect and I love you." And then she was kissing him.

The Lightwoods got home at around 8 o'clock in the morning, and managed to get to school in the middle of second period. Jace had soccer practice so Izzy and Clary walked back to their house and now they were making homemade pizza with Maryse-or attempting to.

"Izzy if you throw it any higher it's going to get stuck on the ceiling!" Maryse scolded while Isabelle chucked hers up again. Clary laughed amused, sprinkling cheese on her pie when Maryse's phone vibrated.

"Who is it?" Izzy asked when Maryse went and opened the text message. Maryse snapped the phone shut and looked at Clary before saying, "Nobody." Clary just rolled her eyes. Although things ended badly at the dinner party for Clary and Jocelyn, they weren't bad for Jocelyn and Maryse. They ended up becoming very close friends-Maryse talking to Clary about it first and Clary convincing her it was completely fine. Whenever she texts or calls Maryse gets very cryptic and pretends it's nobody, which makes it very obvious that it is somebody.

"Maryse, for the last time I told you if you want to be friends with my mother it's totally fine; you don't have to try and hide it." Maryse looked at her with pity-a look Clary absolutely despised, "I know, it's just that you aren't really comfortable with her yet and I don't want to make you feel awkward."

"There is no yet about it," Clary said averting her eyes from Maryse's lost puppy dog look, "things aren't going to change."

"She asks about you, you know," Maryse said hesitantly, "all the time. Maybe you should try and contact he-"

Clary muttered under her breath, "if she didn't leave she could've learned the answers herself." Clary put her pizza into the oven, "excuse me, I have to use the bathroom." Clary walked out of the kitchen so fast she didn't even have time to hear their responses.

She was so lost in thought she didn't even hear the front door opening and squealed in surprise when she ran into someone's chest.

"Oh hey, where's the fire?" Jace asked, "from the smell i'm going to assume the kitchen. Oh hell did you let Izzy cook?"

"Ha. Ha." He smiled and dropped his bag and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Are you okay?"

"Sure, why do you ask?" Clary blinked at him as innocently as possible. He smoothed loose strands of hair behind her ear, "You seem upset."

Clary just shook her head no, "I just missed you is all." She stood on her tip toes and gave him a light kiss.

"Seriously Clare, what's wrong?" She just rolled her eyes, damn him for knowing her so well, "It's nothing. Just stuff with my mom."

"Really? Have you talked to her?" Jace asked. She shook her head no, "And I don't plan to either."

"Clary-"

"Don't Clary me, I'm not going to do it. You all say that she misses me and I should give her a chance blah blah but I don't care. It was her decision to leave me and it's my decision to not talk to her." Clary was fuming with anger and was surprised when Jace just shrugged and said, "Okay."

"Okay?" Clary looked at him. He just nodded and repeated, "Okay."

"That's it? No Clary you're making a huge mistake or Clary it's what's best for you." She talked in the best imitation of him she could just shrugged and shook his head, "My opinion doesn't really matter in this. I wasn't there years ago with you when she left, so I can't tell you what the right thing to do would be. I don't care whether you talk to her or not, all I care about is you being happy. And if talking to her won't make you happy, then don't do it."

Clary stared at him questionably, waiting for him to say something else or add his opinion, but he didn't. He just smiled at her patiently.

She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by the timer on the oven. She cleared her throat and mumbled, "Food's ready."

His smile grew wider, "Great, I'm starving." He leaned down and kissed her forehead before walking by her and into the kitchen. She stood there for a second trying to process her thoughts before shaking her head and heading into the kitchen.
