They were back, same room, Castiel standing in the center as if they'd only been gone for seconds. And in truth, though it was longer where they'd been, it had only been seconds. This was not okay, and when they landed, Mantha released her sister and Sam and stepped away quickly. Cas frowned deeper, the line appearing at his brows. He said something quietly, and in moments, Nora was beside him.
"What happened?" she asked, crossing her arms over a navy blue blouse.
Cas spoke first, "I'm unsure. They were gone, and now they've returned..."
Samantha shot them a glare. They'd been lying to her. For months. Worse than that, whatever it was they weren't telling her meant that Sarah was supposed to kill her. Eyes full of rage looked to them and they all avoided her gaze.
"You...bastards..." she hissed, "How dare you?! How fucking dare you! All this time. How long have you known, SIS?" The word was mocking, dripping from her lips, "How long have you all known that she was supposed to kill me? HUH?!"
No one said a word. Sam stared at the floor, eye brows pressed together and frowning. Dean avoided her gaze as well, jaw tight, and Sarah...Sarah looked at her with pity.
"So what is it? Why will she have to kill me? Since it's clear my role isn't to prevent you from saying yes," she glared at Sam. "What a load off my chest, huh? Thank God there was no way we were actually connected," She watched him blanch and continued, "So what is it? What is this grand horrible thing that destiny has carved for me that may cause my own HALF sister to end my life?"
When no one answered her again, and the silence stretched on, she pressed her lips together and nodded slowly, then moved to the bed and reached under it for a backpack. Sam straightened and exchanged a panicked look with Dean before taking a step. Mantha heard his foot and, raising her head shot him the most hate filled glare she could muster. If looks could kill, he'd be dead twice. When he stopped, she aimed it at Dean and Sarah next. She saw the unshed tears in her sisters silent gaze...and dutifully ignored it. Going back to the backpack she opened the zipper to check for her clothes. Seeing them, she zipped it back up and threw the bag over her shoulder. Taking a deep breath, she nodded once and turned on her heel.
Castiel was blocking her path. His gaze was hard and her eyes narrowed. Nora stood off to the side, arms still crossed, though a look both of confusion and concern in her eyes. Now was not the time to poke the bear.
"Move," she bit out. He and his woman were personally responsible for this. They'd convinced Sarah and the others to lie to her. If there was one hot button to get Samantha to lose all respect for you, it was to lie. And those assholes…Cas hadn't seemed to look down on her for what she was and now she knew why. Guilt.
"You have to stay together."
"Move, Castiel," she spoke through grit teeth, eyes flashing.
"I cannot let you go."
This was the wrong thing to say. The very wrong thing. This time, when her eyes flashed in anger, they dimmed, the cool grey between her lids sharpening to surround the white. The hot blue almost white center made him step back. Sarah had given her one gift before they'd teleported. She had tapped into whatever power she did have, and for whatever reason, it frightened the mighty Castiel. Her lips curved, though there was no humor in it. Sarah took a step forward but Nora's shaking head made her stop. Her heart hurt for the mount of lies she piled onto this mess.
Dean and Sam stared, Sams fists clenched beside him.
"I'll say it one more time, Castiel. Move."
When he didn't, she lifted a hand and pressed it to his chest, shoving him aside. The shock that she was moving against him, and so quickly, set him back quite a few steps. Coupled with the anger and power she now had, it shoved him so far back, she was able to reach the door as he crashed into Nora. When she gripped the handle, she turned her head slightly. Not looking at them, but just enough so they would hear her.
"Do not follow me. Stay the hell away from me. All of you. You feel me?"
When they didn't respond, she walked out the door and down the steps. Exiting the building, she remembered that her car was nowhere to be found and her anger spiked. She had money and a phone, she thought, and some clothing to her name. Pulling the phone from her pocket, she called a taxi.
000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
"Now what, geniuses?" Sarah bit out, wiping the tears from her eyes.
They were silent as they stood and Sam moved to the window quietly to watch as Samantha got into the cab. He frowned when she rolled down the window and let her middle finger fly as the taxi pulled off.
"That didn't go as planned," Cas stated, rolling his neck with one hand, "We'll bring her back."
"Don't," Sarah bit out, "Leave her be. Don't you think we've done enough damage?" She glared at him, eyes narrow and dripping.
"We couldn't tell her the truth, Sarah…" Dean stepped to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
She shrugged him off, "Why? Because you think it's more likely to happen? I've said this from the beginning. If we had told her, she could have protected herself against it!"
"I'm standing right here," Sam said, frowning, "And can hear you."
"GOOD!" Sarah spun and turned on him, "Because if what they're saying comes to pass, you're the exact person I'm going to blame."
"Woah woah woah!" Dean cut in, grabbing her arm and spinning her to face him, "If it happens it's not Sam's fault at all. Lucifer would be to blame for that one, and you know it."
"You know what would have helped, Dean?" She shook his arm from her, and shoved his chest, pushing him a full step back, "Being honest with her!"
"It's done."
They turned to look to Nora.
"She's gone and we're not going to force her to come back. And as it sits, it's best she stay as far away from Sam as possible. Focus on the final rings…"
