Roxas: Master of Chaos owns nothing.

As Eragon and Matthew wandered around Ellesméra, Matthew started wondering about his new look.

"How did I get this look? Why did I get it? What is the reason for it?"

Their random wandering led them back to the Menoa Tree and the ceremony. While they stayed hidden in shadows, Matthew noticed Eragon following Arya into the trees. I wonder what Eragon's up to…. Quieter then a soft summer breeze, Matthew followed the two of them to the edge of a clearing. While they walked Matthew followed them until they got to a cave made out of pine trees. The place would have been amazing if he hadn't heard Eragon confess his love to Arya and get rejected. Matthew got out of there before he was spotted. For many weeks afterwards, Matthew and Eragon kept training, testing the limits of their endurance beyond anything they thought possible, and their skills became matched to some of the more athletic of elves. Finally, after the weeks of training, they were able to use their minds to see not only the animals, but also the plants. They felt their minds mingle with the forest, until they essentially were the forest. When they told Oromis what they had heard and felt, and admitted that they didn't fully understand what it meant. Oromis named Eragon a true rider and Matthew was not yet a master of the keyblade, but he was close. After that he had them try to extract a sphere of water from the stream while only taking energy from the forest. While they did manage to do this, they were horrified by the lives they had just taken. Oromis explained that it was necessary that they now how terrible the price is for using that kind of magic. A few days later Matthew was training with Glaedr and Saphira while Eragon discussed something with Oromis. In the days after Matthew spent all his time in the woods, trying to obtain any secrets that he could from within. Finally, the time came when Matthew felt the winds of change blow through his soul. It is time. He thought as he traveled to Oromis' dwelling. Once he arrived he saw Eragon and Saphira there waiting.

Oromis turned towards Matthew. "Are you going with Eragon?"

"Yes Oromis-elda, the winds of change are blowing. The varden do not know me, but they will cheer when Eragon, Saphira, and I challenge Galbatorix's men."

"Indeed, well then, may the winds of fortune shine upon you." Oromis says as Eragon and Saphira take off.

"Master, may I speak?" Matthew asks.

"Of course, what is it?" Oromis asks.

"Have you sensed it too? The surge of darkness." Matthew asks.

"Yes, while Galbatorix's men will not be a problem, the darkness might." Oromis replies.

"Also, a part of my heart feels like it's being drawn to Urû baen…." Matthew says.

"Really?" Oromis asks.

"Yes, I'll figure out these mysteries later, for now, I'm gonna chase after Eragon." Matthew says as he runs off.

"Be safe young one." Oromis says.

Matthew caught up with them in the air a few miles from the forest.

"Matthew, what do you expect will happen?" Eragon asks.

"To be honest, I don't know. We shall find out when we get there." Matthew replies as they fly along.

They stopped to make camp not long after. While everyone did their own things, Matthew stared in the direction of Urû baen. Why is my heart being drawn towards such a dark place? Matthew wonders as he falls asleep. After many days of traveling they arrived at Aberon, the capital of Surda. As they descended into the city they could sense the alarm of the citizens. After they had descended into the courtyard and learned where the Varden was, they took to the skies and flew through the night until they arrived at the burning plains. As they descended upon the burning plains a volley of arrows were shot at them. Eragon easily deflected most of the arrows with magic and caught an arrow in thin air. After they landed and Matthew was introduced to Nasuada, leader of the Varden. They told of what had happened to them and Nasuada told them what they knew.

"We estimate there to be at least one-hundred thousand men." Nasuada says.

"One-hundred thousand!" Eragon exclaims.

"More." Matthew says.

Everyone turns and looks at him. "What did you say?" Eragon asks.

"You are correct, there are one-hundred thousand men, but there are even more powerful beings with them….." Matthew says as he walks out. How do you think we will fare in this confrontation? Raging tides asks. I don't know, we can only hope for the best. Matthew replies. A few hours later, in the darkest of twilights before the dawn, a deathly wail rose up from the Empire's camp. The battle has begun.

As the two armies rushed to meet each other, Matthew charged at the front of the lines. From there he saw Wyverns, Rapid Thrusters, Nightwalkers, and two behemoths show up and advance. How can there be this many?! Matthew wonders as fear started striking the hearts of the Varden. No, I can't back down. I have to stand strong and fight. Matthew thinks as he summons Skyslasher.

"For the Varden!" Matthew shouts as he charges into battle. The men release a similar war cry as they charge after him. Matthew leaps onto the first behemoth's back and starts blasting Blizzaga spells at the Wyverns, he follows it up with a well placed magnera to draw in the small heartless to the top of the behemoth.

"Now. Holy!" Matthew shouts as multiple pillars of light form around him and spread out, destroying the behemoth and most of the heartless, this continued for many hours until the heartless were defeated. A great cheer rang out from the Varden, until the sound of drums was heard and a giant being rose from behind the Empire's lines. As a ray of light hit the beast it was revealed to be a blood red dragon. The rider of the beast raised its hand and smote many of the dwarves, including the dwarven king Hrothgar. As soon as Matthew saw this he let loose a savage war cry and transformed into his demon state while shouting and projecting his voice with his mind. "Hear this you vile beings! You are a disgrace to the riders. Killing just and kind kings like Hrothgar. Today I swear this!" Matthew says as his voice splits into three, speaking in the language of Humans, the language of dwarves, and the ancient language."I shall take you down!" Matthew screams as he charges in a dark blur at the dragon. Eragon and Saphira are right behind him. As the five beings clash Matthew notices the person trying to break through to his mind, but he pushes it away and instead focuses on all of his rage, pain, anger, and suffering. With a mighty scream Matthew furiously attacks both the dragon and its rider with both claw and blade until finally the warrior gains the upper hand and sends Matthew hurtling towards the ground. When Matthew hits the ground he forms an enormous crater and suddenly hears voices. Don't give up young one… The power within is stronger than the darkness…. Push the darkness away and regain your senses! When Matthew finally regains control of himself he feels Saphira's consciousness. Little one. We dragons have given you another gift. Call upon our power. Matthew starts focusing on his adventure. His mission. His friends. His promises. As he focuses he begins to glow with a golden aura. Suddenly a great reservoir of power that has built up gets unleashed and a giant pillar of golden light shoots up into the sky.
